It’s like Chinese people are animals, a complete over-reaction to something that might actually be a good thing. Doesn’t sitting on the Chinese and Japanese national flags represent closer relations and friendly cooperation? Why is that such a bad thing?

It is understandable that this Rola Chen need to be smarter in using national symbols in her modelling portfolio. Maybe she is dumb as models can be. I have yet to be proven wrong that the majority of Chinese, especially men are monkeys. Yesterday I got into a cab with retard who smelled like ass and baijiu at 9 AM. I find much more reality in fcuk da lu ren’s trollish (only because it’s blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top, yet ‘ish’ because it’s still pretty much in the direction of truth) posts than in the shit coming out of “TahwYOJ” and his retarded crybaby purely insulting-without-a-point posts. It’s one thing to throw an insult with a point, it’s another to simply start blasting without any direction, and he’s basically set in my mind as a poster to ignore…I understand from your posts that you seem to feel the same about FDLR, which some posts I agree with and others not, and that’s OK.

That being said, when I read his post about his daily experience, I laughed, because I’ve experienced the same things in some form or another, albeit not all in the same day – over the last 5+ years bumpin around here. I literally huffed a laugh in my office, thinking back of the videographic memories that fit exactly what he described. Not everyone has the same experiences, but in those particular cases, I don’t think it’s so rare that people who have been here and leave their homes wouldn’t have hit somethin similar (unless they mainstream in shanghai and never get out to see the ‘non-westernized’ areas/populace.)

He has also made it clear in the past that he doesn’t act like he posts in real life, and uses this as a way to *vent* – so with that and reading the posts with that in mind I think it’s acceptable to ignore the over-the-topness and accept the between-the-line truths…but get from it what you will, as with SdrawkcabSILOOC.

Regarding what you do, I know what I needed to know to arrive at the conclusions I have. I don’t give a rat’s ass if Japan calls you. Do you give a rat’s ass about what countries call me or where I travel to do business? You’re still living, working, and reading about China. There’s enough implicit dependence in that alone. I understand what you’re saying, but I trust you also understand how fcuk da lu ren’s “blunt, direct, aggressive,and sometimes over the top” reactions to things he’s observed about China/Chinese are not that categorically different from TahwYOJ’s “blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top” reactions to things he’s observed coming out of fcuk da lu ren’s mouth (or any other person spewing hate against China/Chinese).

It is the same. About the only thing different is that fcuk da lu ren’s posts are appreciably more coherent, a testament to his fine English communication skills. But as for offensiveness? They’re more similar than different.

As for blasting without direction, I understand what you mean, but I think there’s at least a far better candidate for that characterization than TahwYOJ and that’d be the “ocumen, blah, haha, meagain, etc.” idiot in the Chinese Discuss American Poverty post. My entreaty to TahwYOJ here is to try to calm him down because just as you can identify with FDLR’s (is that his new acronym? much easier to type) rants, I can identify with TahwYOJ’s angry reaction to FDLR (I can identify with almost everything FDLR has vented about too).

Remember, just as FDLR is frustrated with Chinese, TahwYOJ is frustrated with FDLR and what he represents as someone who categorically maligns an entire race in his speech.

As I mentioned above in my response to FDLR, yes, him and I have had an understanding already, and as you said, from our discussions before. As the somewhat older commenters here, I think you, me, Veer Left, and FDLR would all probably have a riot throwing back some beers, but I’m just trying to impart on the newer kids a bit of the perspective we take for granted because of our familiarity.

I wouldn’t say either that I have a great mastery of the English language, I can barely spell my own name some times. I like “flamefest” though. Sniper reminds me of the China Daily drones who pour on using some form of fact distorted into DL propaganda. Some portion of it is factual, but the majority is distorted and interpreted out of context, with a twist of “you couldn’t understand you are a foreigner”.

Point taken on being here, I do subject myself to the “torture” yet somehow the chaos brings me some kind of sastisfaction.
