Super Girl Rola Chen Pictures Anger Chinese Netizens

Super Girl Chen Yi's controversial photo showing her in a swim suit lying down on both a Japanese and Chinese flag.

In 2001, mainland Chinese actress Zhao Wei wore a dress depicting the Japanese military flag for a fashion shoot for the Japanese magazine Bazaar. Once the photo was published, she immediately came under fire from the Chinese public where widespread condemnation eventually led to her apology regarding the matter. Fast forward to today, former “Super Girl” contestant Chen Yi (English name Rola Chen) recently became the focus of discussion in regard to her choice of posing scantily on top of the Chinese and Japanese Flag for a Japanese male-oriented magazine.

Video on YouTube and NetEase.

From NetEase:

Super Girl Chen Yi published in Japanese magazine, lying down on Chinese and Japanese flags cause arguments

Previously unsuccessful “Super Girl” Chinese girl Chen Yi’s photographs for a Japanese mature men’s magazine has caused strong opinions and even “go to Japan to be female idol” fake news. Recently, Chen Yi’s pictures have once again appeared on the internet, amongst them a picture of Chinese and Japanese national flags used as part of the set has stirred up arguments and opposition.

Shooting pictures with national flags as the background cause arguments

Unsuccessful “Super Girl” contestant Chen Yi previously went to Japan to become a female idol, and has taken indecent/tasteless photos. Afterward, Chen Yi repeatedly clarified that things were not as they were reported, and that she was only going to Japan to further advance her career. As for the suspected ‘racy photos’, they are merely artistic works from a famous Japanese magazine.

Recently, new sets of photos surfaced, including one picture of Chen wearing a green bikini lying smiling across a “stars and stripes” bed. Some netizens pointed out that lying on the American flag hints at her fawning at foreigners. Another picture shows Chen wearing a black swim suit lying on a sofa, with the flags of Japan and China spread on the sofa cushions. Netizens have raised objections to Chen Yi sitting on the Japanese national flag and the Chinese national flag.

Magazines publishing these pictures are in fact adult/mature periodicals

Chen Yi claims: the photos circulating on websites are pictures she took for the men’s publication “周刊プレイボーイ” (The name translated into Chinese is “Playboy Weekly”). She said, “after joining FITONE [a Japanese modeling agency], the company helped me find the opportunity to pose for a well-known publications.”

It is reported that “周刊プレイボーイ” [the Japanese magazine] is similar to the American Playboy magazine; but Chen argued: “I am not posing for pornographic pictures; they are all normal artistic photos! Besides, some domestic female actresses’ “Red Ribbon” photos contain full nudity that is even more open-minded than mine!” She also expressed that her bottom line for her own pictures is [to not show private parts], “after all there are family members at home who will see me, I would never do things that would let them down!”

There was also a poll on NetEase. Here are the results at around 12:30pm, November 24th:

What do you think about Super Girl Chen Yi using the national flag as a background for these kind of pictures? (16,881votes)

Opposed, it is disrespectful to the motherland and national flag.
13,251 votes (78.0%)
Not opposed, using the national flag as a background is also pretty good.
1,731 votes (10.0%)
Indifferent, none of my business.

Comments on NetEase:

You selling your body is no one’s business, that is your freedom. But can you not use the national flag please? Don’t you know the state law on flag use? Kao.

This kind of “Super Girl” only fit to be a “J” [J = 鸡 = chicken, a nickname for "whore" or "female prostitute"].
Those who want to watch her AV, vote support!

Hope she changes her nationality, she is not fit to be Chinese.

My favorite female idol.

I don’t want to say anything else, I only want to fuck her.

Yet another mental retard. Hunan TV‘s masterpieces, either a retard or a slut.

What “Super Girl”, this is a classic “prostitute”. Hunan TV is the place where trash is manufactured. Everything that comes from that place is trash.

Seeing all these netizens who curse people, in the future there will be even more people going abroad to develop [their careers or lives] or emigrating. Do not blame Gong Li, and do not go blame this girl named Chen Yi. Foreigners say Chinese netizens are too extreme. From the looks of it, it is completely true!

While you insult her, don’t forget to look at yourself.
This is normal stuff, yet so many people are scolding this little girl, without a shred of kindness and understanding.
She’s not doing anything wrong, I want to say to her: you are very pretty, I cheer for your life!

National disgrace, scum!!

We await your AV films. From this day on, we will search for your films everyday to watch. You can definitely become popular. I support your AV film. It must be without mosaic [mask, censorship] if you want it to explode [in popularity]! We support you!!!

So many “fenqing” [angry youth].

She’s not Chinese. She didn’t even say a single word of Chinese. It seems like she is not human. Chinese people would never do such a thing for Japanese devils, fuck, her grandpa must be Wang Jingwei [a Chinese traitor].

In the past there was Princess Zhao Wei, now there is Super Girl Chen Yi. Both are rotten, despicable scum amongst Chinese people.

What is the big deal about this, What is the big deal about this? My countrymen are so close-minded

This bastard, she did the wrong thing, putting the national flag under her butt, then letting the Japanese fuck her, then isn’t it equivalent to the Japanese fucking our flag?

Some supposed “countrymen’s” inner qualities are really low

The national flag is a symbol, no matter what it can’t be used as a tool for making money! That kind of behavior is simply disgraceful!

I really don’t know why you guys are so patriotic. You guys love your country, but does your country love you?? A bunch of SB fenqing.

Aiya~~~isn’t this just the flag, whats the big deal, it’s not stepped on, its not burned, it only shows Sino-Japanese goodwill.
If she can’t be popular domestically, going to Japan to develop is not a bad thing, on the contrary her notoriety in China is greater than in Japan.

What stupid “Super Girl”, shes virtually a “fuck girl.” [This is like a pun, "super" is "chao" while "fuck" is "cao" so they sound the same]

Pictures and Comments posted on ChinaRen:

Super Girl Chen Yi (Rola Chen) in a green bikini at the beach.

Chinese people with money all want to become foreigners [emigrate].
This is the truth.
Other people live their lives according to their own wishes, what the fuck does it have to do with you?

I’ll talk about it later after I fuck her.

She took some pictures and you guys have gotten this mad, even wanting to XXX her. Also, everyday you all curse Koreans for being arrogant, showing clearly that most netizens are still stuck in a stage of ignorance. What does her taking photos have to do with you people? If you like to look, then look. If not, then leave it at that. Even calling her a traitor, does that make you guys good citizens? Besides her pictures didn’t insult Chinese people, it was only that the flag was not placed very well. Some people like to order others around, always like to use class struggle ideology [Red Guard tactics?] to attack others. When they see someone they do not like, they find some far-fetched excuses to make that person’s life miserable. Ah, Chinese people just love fighting with themselves, is it worth it?

So disgusting.
Does this kind of woman have any dignity?

Feel like she is very pretty, ding.

So fine, I want to mount her.

Wow, talk about over-reaction. I kinda like the idea for what it is: a very simplistic message of “no matter what country we’re from, we all love hot girls”
To be honest, I’m surprised at and a little uneasy about some the comments from the netizens calling her a traitor and a slut or scum. That’s totally out of hand. Although on the other hand, it’s nice to know there’s fucking idiots from every country posting dumb shit on the net. It kinda unites us all under one big unhappy ignorant mutli-coloured umbrella, don’t you think? ;)

  • fcuk da lu ren

    Dude,

They are Chi Mates. They sing songs to a man who murdered them in droves. Worship Stalin, Hitler, Lenin. Come on, what do you expect. They sent their own men to die in the mountains without jackets because they were “Chinese”. Those that got captured and returned were called traitors while those that went to TW came back in the 90′s as heros (and they were rich). They are peasants, the whole lot of them, their women are whores and they are idiots as a race. That’s what the netcitizen represents

  • GuateChapin

very beautiful girl, i support you, people that criticize you are only XIANG XIA REN!!!! they dont know the world outside the only thing they know is China, haha and maybe not even whole china, only part of it. but still I love China, that mean i love you too ^^. keep up the good work, make your contry proud and make other contries envy hehe…

  • Rick in China

    For edited photos, she’s not that hot. I support her in that the whole netizen response is ridiculous and she shouldn’t pay any attention to people who are either jealous or take something like that to be a personal (or national, wtf?) insult, however;

She clearly needs to exercise, while thin her body is not very well shaped, she’s the type of girl with a thin frame and soft body – and it’s clear from the face her ass warps around her bones (look at the hip line in first image, a girl who exercises and has some firm flesh will have a rounded curve, not a \_/ bend. In addition to a mediocre body, her face is not especially attractive either – while no major flaws, it’s not something I’d look twice at or say to one of my boys “Wow, that chick is fiiiiine” unless I had some liquor in me.

    • TAKE5

Damm rick,,,are a doctor ? I can’t believe the detail you give about her body…you are wayyy to into this…hahaha

  • Rick in China

miswording: “…it’s clear from the face…” should be “…it’s clear from the fact…”

  • boobo

and absolutely no titties. like negative boobage. waste of time for ppl to get worked up about this. way hotter girls in japan. who even cares?

  • Mozzie

Looks like a 10 year old, who in the hell could even consider that as sexy or sex related? Disturbing pics and comments to boot!

  • Shanghai Brit

It’s like Chinese people are animals, a complete over-reaction to something that might actually be a good thing. Doesn’t sitting on the Chinese and Japanese national flags represent closer relations and friendly cooperation? Why is that such a bad thing?

However it is good to see that there are a lot of Chinese people posting saying that people shouldn’t be so ridiculous because it’s nothing. Perhaps there is hope for this country!

  • Jordan

I think if they had used the Chinese flag alone, or at least some other country’s (friendly to China) other than Japan’s flag, we won’t even have this discussion here. This is just racial hatred, pure and simple. It goes on all over the world, not just in China.

  • Veer Left

I don’t get it… she lost over here…so she went there. The Japanese obviously see something in her that others don’t.
If I see a girl in an AV flick that has a similar ethnicity, do I curse her? WTF is the matter with Chinos? SHe went to greener pastures… the same is true of lots of models, actors, singers, etc.
Nothing special in your homeland? Go somewhere that they like you more!
I am revolted but somehow not really shocked at the Chinese responses.

  • TahwYOJ

Hey look, there is nothing “wrong” with “Chinos” in the sense that they are doing anything that is not human, jackass. People all around the world have their ignorant moments; the above displays are merely a facet of that ignorance which is human. Don’t act like Chinese are the only one’s capable of stupid ignorant shit.

What pisses me off it’s not that some of you are criticizing this behavior, because I feel the same. It’s the fucking blanket generalizations that you are throwing out, where you label the entire Chinese people as such and such. Which is fucking ignorant.

And F*** Da Lu-Ren. No fuck you, you little troll bitch.

  • TahwYOJ

    HAHA, fuck you all!!!

WTF is this shit? Think about it…

YOU STUPID FUCKS are a bunch of forum post critics. HAHA, that’s fucking lame, man. Think about it.

Shit, I’m laughing my ass off right now thinking about it.

Fanna, just shut it down. You really want to be the enabler of a bunch of forum critics? HAHA. Unless you are making some $$$ out of this, then go ahead. Meanwhile, I’m going to go forum critique myself out of this bitch by going to an actual forum…

but i would also like to fuck this girl,

  • Kristo

As a western I don’t understand their hatred. Chinese youth, don’t be so aggressive with your words. It wasn’t an insult to your country. I would see it 180′ other way around – two flags and a woman between them. Woman is a symbol that represents peace and goodness (好)

My piece of coloured cloth is better than your piece of coloured cloth!

    An academic exercise:
An alien mothership visits earth today, would the aliens classify us as: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, American, French, Iranian, Somalian etc… or would they classify us as Human? – (Hopefully not vermin!) – Further, would our flags even warrant a second glance from them?

    Google Universal™ image tags: ‘human’

  • Fuller

    @TahwYOJ
So is that laughter a mocking laughter, or is it one of those nervous asian face-saving laughs? What is it about the fact that foreigners are looking at posts done by Chinese people and commenting on them in an attempt to better understand the culture they’re living in that makes you so nervous? Yes, granted, some people go overboard in their comments, but don’t paint us all with the same brushstroke. Some of us are here because this is an exercise in sociology – the forum message boards are a sociological phenomenon, and very interesting to study and analyze.

  • fireworks

It is understandable that this Rola Chen need to be smarter in using national symbols in her modelling portfolio. Maybe she is dumb as models can be. Even after decades after the 2nd world war, Chinese people still haven’t forgotten the occupation. Thus, Japan still hasn’t gone out of its way to appease the Chinese. Its a political issue drawn into this. Its not going to be solved now and in the future. Its going to take a long time.

In terms of her looks, well good for her if she can make money from modelling. Maybe it was intentional for her to pose with national flags. She wants to stir up the internet crowd and pump up her profile with free publicity.

  • TahwYOJ

    Fuller,

I have no problem with people commenting. I just had to make a comment when people are categorizing the entirety of the Chinese people as “animals.”

Specifically let me quote: “They are peasants, the whole lot of them, their women are whores and they are idiots as a race.”

So what do you think about the above? Is it merely some “foreigners” trying to better understand the culture. I think F**k Da Lu Ren made up hist mind already about the Chinese and their culture. It certainly does not make me “nervous.” Who am I to be “nervous” about an entire people. What I have to do instead is to point out the stupid fucks that make retarded (racist too?) generalizations of my people.

Excuse me, I have to now go report back to the Alien Overlords after my brief sociology study of youtube comments. My personal opinions on the matter is that we should bombard earth from orbit ASAP.

    Bye.

  • http://www.cnreviews.com Kai

    @ TahwYOJ:

I’ve been a commenter here for awhile now, so I’ve seen fcuk da lu ren for a long time. Maybe that is why I basically ignore him as a troll (I’ve criticized him before) and advise others to do the same. Now, you’re new, so I won’t blame you for reacting to him, but I hope telling you this lets you understand why no one really gives a shit about him.

Next, perhaps the only reason I’m imploring you to chill instead of fcuk da lu ren, is because you’re doing more harm than help to your side.

Exploding into a ball of expletives and immaturity isn’t going to make anyone respect the Chinese more, and in a way, you’re just proving fcuk da lu ren’s racist generalizations. Ultimately we can’t change fcuk da lu ren’s incessant idiocy, but we don’t have to live up to it. Do you really think your behavior is going to help others reject what he’s saying or is it only going to make people annoyed with you, and by unfortunate extension, Chinese people?

Take a breather, and check yourself. How do you think it reflects upon you and Chinese people for you to post 4x in succession just to vomit out whatever new “put down” you suddenly thought of after hitting submit? You’re overly excited. Calm down. The fact that fcuk da lu ren can get such a rise out of you only demonstrates his power over you. Is that what you want?

Don’t give fcuk da lu ren the attention he’s trying to get with his comments. It doesn’t mean you accept them, it just means they do not deserve your attention. If you keep going on like you have, no one is going to give you much attention either.

I think Fauna has shown that she has her limits too. Maybe its time to ask that these comments be moderated more. It is a shame that a few people can’t handle themselves accordingly, and I admit fully that I’ve given myself to immaturity before as well but you guys are a different level.

  • fcuk da lu ren

    @TahwYOJ

I have yet to be proven wrong that the majority of Chinese, especially men are monkeys. Yesterday I got into a cab with retard who smelled like ass and baijiu at 9 AM. He sputtered on the same diatribe that I have heard for ten years about China this and China that and how the American economy is over and its China’s time blah blah (not knowing factories are closing in droves).

Half of the staff in my office was asleep in the middle of the day (working hard as always). Guys were taking a shit and smoking at the same time despite the HUGE SIGN saying no smoking IN THE TOILET.

Sat in a meeting where a third grade educated official (who also smelled like ass and baijiu) talked about how I couldn’t understand China blah blah then walked outside to see a guy taking a shit on the side of the road.

Turn on Chinese TV see ridiculous programming with anti american sentiment, (china good west bad). Then have to read your stupid comments?

What do you think the percentage is for foreign women dating local DA LU REN? haha no way. We shave the women down, bath them, then teach them what their wet spot is really for. You think that Chick gives a flying fuck about the waaaammmmbulance driving chi mates are crying about with flags?

She is getting paid while the rest of the Fudan educated masters degree students work for me making USD 250 a month.

Thank you thank you, Im here all week

TahwYOJ- Did you actually call me ‘jackass’? How did I provoke you?
I haven’t jumped on any particular bandwagon. I think that the the Chinese posters (of which you are likely one) just fire off knee-jerk responses at perceived slights.

    Sigh…

Everyone, just remember fcuk da lu ren is a monkey who sinks to the same idiotic level of all he criticizes, yet thinks he’s better ONLY because he’s not a “Chinese” monkey.

He’s a racist and he knows it.

Just comfort yourself in knowing he’s still in China and still browsing chinaSMACK, so on one level or another, he’s both frustrated yet dependent upon China and Chinese for his current existence. Does anything else need to be said? No, now be at peace, everyone.

  • fcuk da lu ren

Geez Kai that was pretty harsh, can’t a guy vent? I’m not going to argue with you about my dependance upon China for my existance, but you are right, I work and live here.

If you experienced half of the things that I have here your words would be just as frustrated as me. Instead of going home or beating Chinese into comas I choose to rant about the mindless dribble that Da Lu Ren spew on in forums.

In all actuality I only live for your characterizations of me. And I won’t personally attack you, I actually like hearing your views as much as you do mine.

Racist? Well I am half Asian, maybe I should be more specific by saying the Chimatrons who have been conditioned to respond in text book like form. I don’t know what is worse, them or the people who defend them…. ;)

  • fcuk da lu ren

And just a thought. You stated I am dependant upon China for my existance, but you have no idea what I do. And no one calls me from Japan asking for my expertise, but they call me everyday here. So I guess its a need – need relationship eh?

  • Rick in China

    @Kai
I find much more reality in fcuk da lu ren’s trollish (only because it’s blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top, yet ‘ish’ because it’s still pretty much in the direction of truth) posts than in the shit coming out of “TahwYOJ” and his retarded crybaby purely insulting-without-a-point posts. It’s one thing to throw an insult with a point, it’s another to simply start blasting without any direction, and he’s basically set in my mind as a poster to ignore…I understand from your posts that you seem to feel the same about FDLR, which some posts I agree with and others not, and that’s OK.

That being said, when I read his post about his daily experience, I laughed, because I’ve experienced the same things in some form or another, albeit not all in the same day – over the last 5+ years bumpin around here. I literally huffed a laugh in my office, thinking back of the videographic memories that fit exactly what he described. Not everyone has the same experiences, but in those particular cases, I don’t think it’s so rare that people who have been here and leave their homes wouldn’t have hit somethin similar (unless they mainstream in shanghai and never get out to see the ‘non-westernized’ areas/populace.)

He has also made it clear in the past that he doesn’t act like he posts in real life, and uses this as a way to *vent* – so with that and reading the posts with that in mind I think it’s acceptable to ignore the over-the-topness and accept the between-the-line truths…but get from it what you will, as with SdrawkcabSILOOC.

  • Fuller

    @joywhat
ANd again, thank you for proving my initial post to be true. End of conversation.

I don’t see what the fuss is all about. The pics aren’t even that racy. If I saw that pic with an American flag, I probably wouldn’t even give it a second chance. She’s fairly cute, though.

I was surprised to see katakana over here. At least I can read the Playboy part even if I don’t know the kanji for ‘weekly’ next to it. Guess I should study more.

  • SniperWZ

@FDLR, if you’re so miserable in China, you should leave, you’re replaceable, I’m sure, so don’t feel bad.

Have you considered for one second that you’re turning into a “da lu ren” yourself? Your racism toward and stereotyping of 1.2 billion people is qualitatively no different or better than the hatred of the wonu among most Chinese da lu ren.

Seems like you’re conditioned to respond in text like form as well, I’ve not seen much variation in your low brow responses, in fact, it’s all the same, you’re like the Pavlov’s dog who respond to stimuli.

I think your lack of comprehension of many subjects, such as why many Chinese people still respect Mao tells more about your own inability to view things from a different perspective. Mao is a mass murderer, but he also was the first Chinese leader to give Chinese people self-respect, his policies were extreme and disastrous, but remember he fought the U.S. to a standstill in Korea, developed Nukes, and confronted the Russians head on. When people’s memories are of humiliations from foreign powers and helpless loss of nationhood, it’s not surprising they revere Mao.

You must have some sort of Gordon Chang syndrome, self-hating half-Asians is not that rare, but hey, if you’re only like this on forums instead of in real life, then that must be oppressive on yourself, you can’t say or act how you feel. But hey, in the end, it must frustrate you to see how China is continuing to move forward, you’re like Gerald Segal, stuck in a still frame mode of viewing China. Gordon Chang updates his book every year, poor guy, but he has no new material for such a long time…

  • fcuk da lu ren

    @Sniper

@FDLR, if you’re so miserable in China, you should leave, you’re replaceable, I’m sure, so don’t feel bad.

Exactly my point. Another mindless Chinese textbook comment coming from a Da Lu Ren. Maybe I should organized a rally with 10,000 spies er I mean students like you Chinese did in other countries. Oh wait I would get pummeled or thrown out if I so much as pulled out an american flag.

“I think your lack of comprehension of many subjects, such as why many Chinese people still respect Mao tells more about your own inability to view things from a different perspective.”

Funny, especially how you go on to say that Chairman Mao gave Chinese people self respect. If that was the case, why are you still bashing a girl and calling her a traitor for posing with a flag? Obviously Chinese are still insecure about their positions in the world due to whom? White people (who you like to blame). We are not the ones looking backwards instead of forwards, always crying about the injustices caused to you in 1898. Nevermind the throngs of people saved by missionaries in Nanjing or the Great wall being rebuilt by German companies, or the Shaolin monestary being re built by international funds. (by the way who burned them down in the name of the revolution?)

Chairman Mao did succeed in uniting the peasants under one banner and re distribution of land among the poor that is true, but at what cost? And how far back was the country set by succeeding planning by the “proleteriat”. Nevermind the foundations of that unification were laid by Sun Yat Sen and carried on by Chiang Kai Chek. And let me ask you this. Looking at the situations of TW, HK and Da LU, who would you say enjoys the better lifestyles, work conditions, and overall freedoms?

I do agree that Chairman Mao united a nation in order to move forward a united China, but at what aim? The consolidation of his own power. Make no mistake Chi mate, the best communists in China were purged, killed, or fled. Please don’t give me a history perspective I understand the sociological mental dellusions that you have in this country. It is nothing more than a mind control mechanism geared at holding on to power by uniting the masses against a common enemy.

How esle could you justify villifying the vary nations that have built your economy, provided aid (including Japan), and allowing your nationals abroad to not only become citizens, vote, (and steal secrets) but to also riot and not be sent to prison. I won’t even go into the reaction of what would happen if America evoked a law for law equality for Chinese nationals living in America the same as Americans living in China. Limit of home purchases, no social benefits (despite paying taxes), denial of any form of govt positons, and I could go on and on. There would be red flags running through the streets of America.

Maybe its YOU who needs to take another look from a different perspective. Chinese are always DEMANDING that we respect their culture and understand their point of view, but when we throw it back at you you come back with “If you dont like it go home” (p34 on dealing with foreigners handbook)

    FUCK YOU

    @ fcuk da lu ren:

Oh come on now, buddy, you know I’ve always been clear, even blunt, about criticizing your comments for being intentionally offensive and inflammatory. I’ve accepted it and that’s why I don’t respond to your comments most of the time. This time, I’m just teaching TahwYOJ what I know about you, so hopefully he can calm down and not spam 4 comments in a row.

I don’t know what is worse, them or the people who defend them…. ;)

What is worse is not differentiating between people who defend idiots and people who defend the fact that not everyone of a particular “group” or “race” are idiots. You play fast and loose with your words, and you know that, which is why deep down you cannot find fault with what I am saying here. I’m right, and you know I’m not criticizing you for anything that isn’t legitimate just as I know you’re actually capable of differentiating between which Chinese are mindless ultra-nationalists and which Chinese are actually plenty decent people. You throw out “Chinese-this” or “Chi-mate that” fully aware that doing so offends others. I know you’re actually more intelligent and rational than the racist dribble you like to indulge yourself in here. We’ve gone over this before.

In all actuality I only live for your characterizations of me. And I won’t personally attack you, I actually like hearing your views as much as you do mine.

I admit, I’m not sure how much of this is facetious.

Regarding what you do, I know what I needed to know to arrive at the conclusions I have. I don’t give a rat’s ass if Japan calls you. Do you give a rat’s ass about what countries call me or where I travel to do business? You’re still living, working, and reading about China. There’s enough implicit dependence in that alone. I’m not suggesting that you “need” China, I’m just saying that those who know that context about you would better understand and deal with your comments here, as opposed to flipping off the handle like TahwYOJ.

    @ Rick in China:

I find much more reality in fcuk da lu ren’s trollish (only because it’s blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top, yet ‘ish’ because it’s still pretty much in the direction of truth) posts than in the shit coming out of “TahwYOJ” and his retarded crybaby purely insulting-without-a-point posts.

I understand what you’re saying, but I trust you also understand how fcuk da lu ren’s “blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top” reactions to things he’s observed about China/Chinese are not that categorically different from TahwYOJ’s “blunt, direct, aggressive, and sometimes over the top” reactions to things he’s observed coming out of fcuk da lu ren’s mouth (or any other person spewing hate against China/Chinese).

It is the same. About the only thing different is that fcuk da lu ren’s posts are appreciably more coherent, a testament to his fine English communication skills. But as for offensiveness? They’re more similar than different.

As for blasting without direction, I understand what you mean, but I think there’s at least a far better candidate for that characterization than TahwYOJ and that’d be the “ocumen, blah, haha, meagain, etc.” idiot in the Chinese Discuss American Poverty post. My entreaty to TahwYOJ here is to try to calm him down because just as you can identify with FDLR’s (is that his new acronym? much easier to type) rants, I can identify with TahwYOJ’s angry reaction to FDLR (I can identify with almost everything FDLR has vented about too).

Remember, just as FDLR is frustrated with Chinese, TahwYOJ is frustrated with FDLR and what he represents as someone who categorically maligns an entire race in his speech.

As I mentioned above in my response to FDLR, yes, him and I have had an understanding already, and as you said, from our discussions before. As the somewhat older commenters here, I think you, me, Veer Left, and FDLR would all probably have a riot throwing back some beers, but I’m just trying to impart on the newer kids a bit of the perspective we take for granted because of our familiarity.

@ the seeds of a flamefest between SniperWZ and FDLR:

Both of you are right and I suspect both of your are intelligent enough to know each others’ points to be right in context. Might I suggest that you both save the intelligent history lessons and insightful rhetoric for commenters who actually don’t know these things?

  • TahwYOJ

Like I said, I don’t have a problem with people venting, what I have a problem with is when you make these *racist* (I perceive) remarks about the entire Chinese people. Actually, I kind of agree with you about the text-book thing, since I feel that a lot of the nationalism stuff is dumb. But if you bait people with your post then don’t expect people to not get mad and just sit there and take it. Hell no. You started it.

If you posted the well thought of post like you did above, then I would have said nothing, nothing at all. If you want to vent then vent. (Go back and read your first post again.)

And @Kai, that’s my beef, how are you going to take my actions, etc, and put that on the entire Chinese people? I’m me. I’m not the Chinese people. Internet b.s. retardation have been a part of the Internet since it’s inception. It’s quite normal, I think. It only shows that I’m (an individual) a jackass. Don’t try to put that on the Chinese people.

  • fcuk da lu ren

Ahh come on Kai, I thought my discourse on Chinese post revolutionary Maoist theory was insightful and inspiring!!!!

I wouldn’t say either that I have a great mastery of the English language, I can barely spell my own name some times. I like “flamefest” though. Sniper reminds me of the China Daily drones who pour on using some form of fact distorted into DL propaganda. Some portion of it is factual, but the majority is distorted and interpreted out of context, with a twist of “you couldn’t understand you are a foreigner”.

Point taken on being here, I do subject myself to the “torture” yet somehow the chaos brings me some kind of sastisfaction.

  • TahwYOJ

    @FDLR,

See, you are again making these generalizations. There are many different kinds of “over-seas” Chinese. I, for one, would never march down the street waving a Chinese flag. I would never betray the U.S.A, since I’ve pretty much spent my entire life here. The U.S is great. It’s the land of the free and the home of the brave, that I’m not going to argue with you. I never said China is better than the U.S.A.

China is improving in this regard. My hope is that it will become free, and more “enlightened.” So people like you don’t have to vent anymore. But we live in a non-perfect world. Each and every country on planet earth have it’s share of problems. So until that day, I really suggest you try to “chill-out” and look at life as half full instead of half empty. Don’t you think that would be better for your state of mind?

What am I saying…. Oh well. You should vent. And I guess I should just let you talk trash about my people, in a racist way.

      free?

when did the USA become free?

      a canadian

Some Chinese hate Japanese as much as (or even more) Jews hate German Nazis. I think that if it was the Chinese who throw the atomic bomb to the Japanese instead of the Americans then we would not see so much hatred from the Chinese part. I can understand the way they feel, but I hope that they can change though I don’t think it will be happening soon.

The way I see it…there is a lot of digression here, comments which are absolutely irrelevant to the post on this Super Girl topic. Just like in the other posts, not a few people are exchanging insults using the most fluent of vulgar English. It does not help to, on the one hand criticise China and its people for what they are and are not, while on the other, betray, as evidenced here, similar and worse behaviour, in stark contradiction to all the holier than thou attributes/culture/good behaviour bla bla bla…that are being claimed by YOU.

This never ceases to, at best, amuse me eversince and whenever I have some time to spare to read the posts here, and at less than best (I shan’t say worst just yet) makes me wonder if PEOPLE are, after all’s said and done, any more civilised than our fellow oxygen-breathing inhabitants. That said, I have great difficulty in trying to not tell all of you…yes, all of YOU that:

Customer: Waiter, tell me, do you have frog’s legs?
Waiter: No, Sir, it is my rheumatism which makes me walk like this.

    How’s that?

China and Japan should find their way towards reconciliation. Rola made good step. Only pic I found disgusting is the pic in “police” uniform. It is quite ugly pic.

When people hate someone, they would always find the reason for fight.

Now we have a full array of girls that “made their country ashamed”: Gong Li, Tang Wei, Rola Chen… China likes Singapore’s money, technology, even political system, but to take citizenship? No, no… Ang Lee tackled dark secret about collaborationist during occupation, and girl is guilty, not a character, but the actress. Not Ang Lee, not Tony Leung, but actress, a girl. Hey, Zhang Ziyi played geisha! Hate her!

Did anyone blame Zhang Yimou for casting Takeshi Kaneshiro in “Hoise of flying daggers”? No, he is a male.

  • Peteryang
  • Mike

She’s hot and her Japanese is decent. Don’t hate.

  • Veer Left

Hahaha… I love it. You guys love each other. I have no long winded sermon to add… just KEEP it going. THIS is entertainment!

  • krdr

It is funny that Rola looks more like Japanese girl than Chinese. On other hand, many Chinese girls (and boys) looks like Japanese youth.
