白吃白痴:

Good post. A portrait of real life. Life isn’t easy.

zglnjzgy:

It was like this when I was a construction worker in Beijing too. This isn’t too bad. Back then we had Chinese doughnuts, corn, and porridge for breakfast. Lunch and dinner consisted of pork buns with very little pork and Chinese doughnuts.

canvjie:

Good, very real.

niutonghu100:

Please, this is already very luxurious for migrant workers. Many are in worse conditions…

viping-963:

For the prosperity of our country, migrant workers must endure hardship. They’re already lucky if they have work to do, food to eat, and aren’t cheated out of their wages. Of course, things are different if you’re a government official.

面不改色:

They’re the real builders [of the economy], salute.

zhaojintao88:

This is already comparable with commoners, but much too far away compared with officials.

鸦片就馒头:

Without education and a degree, [migrant workers] won’t have even this to eat if they don’t work. Besides, they make quite a bit of money. Do you see them in misery? I think louzhu‘s brain is impaired. Honestly, perhaps your level of happiness is not as high as that of these brothers and sisters. BS your show-off style. Don’t you see that they have meat along with vegetables?

haoeio:

There are many heart-wrenching moments behind the glamor, but why can’t some people see that commoners are struggling just to make a living? I want to say that they’re lucky not to have met any chengguan, or their lunches will be spilt over the asphalt!

火心天子:

Society needs people like this.

gzjjmy:

I recognize this, Shangbu Lu in Shenzhen, opposite of Sichuan Tower, the point isn’t food, but the heat.

fengyj1:

The food is average, are the beers provided or self-bought? I don’t mean anything, but nowadays many people are eating worse in their homes.

zhangchi254:

I’m interning at the Central Railway Fourth Bureau, just graduated. What we eat here is the same as them, sometimes even worse. Fuck, the leaders are too stingy to give us food. Whatever you do, don’t work for a government owned company. Leaders think only for themselves and never care if their subordinates are dead or alive. Private companies are much better, you can report them if there is a problem. But government owned companies are in cahoots with the officials, if you report them, then you can go home.

xiatian_4740:

LZ you don’t know anything. Do you know how many people are worse off than them in China? Never endured hardship yourself, don’t post pointless stuff like this.

yaomq76:

The builders of society’s riches are living worse than cows and horses, and their representatives are sitting in luxurious office towers receiving high pay, enjoying the air conditioning, trading stocks and playing games online. This is China.

卟離卟棄:

Government officials are pigs! Useless!

杜成輝:

The difference between one person and another is just that big. It’s sad thinking about it.

liuch2255:

The team of officials is very cute, commoners have done their duty, and supported the officials to be white, chubby, and napping in comfort…

cnxingyuan:

Often times they won’t receive the wages they earned.

以变应变:

火心天子:  Society needs people like this.

But does our country need people like this?

  • PUSAN PLAYA

I can see this shit on any street corner in Beijing or Tianjin or I presume any other fucking part of China. How is this exotic or interesting or worth talking about in any way? Why the hell would CHINESE PEOPLE of all people give a shit about pictures of something they could see every day if they only bothered to get off their fucking chair and go outside?

    • gth793y

everybody need to feel self-righteous sometimes, even if it is merely on a series of tubes

they go back to their indifferent lives after that, but feel better about it.

  • lol

looks even quite clean and healthy. I have seen, eaten and been poisoned by worse street food.

  • FYIADragoon

Those Chinese guys that are migrant workers are far more manly, and resutlingly far better looking than the stupid looking men who become government officials. Prove me wrong. You can’t.

  • Righteous American

A little less eating and a bit more working and maybe this country will be able to nuzzle its way out of the shameful and embarrassing status of “developing”.

    • Developing China

How’s the US economy these days? Want to get more stimulus in the system or borrow more IOUs from China? Well………. “Yes you can”

      • Fike2308

How’s the average standard of living for your typical American (in spite of this temporary economic crisis) compared to your average Chinese?

Even with this crisis (which is temporary) Americans still have higher salaries (on average)and better living conditions than Chinese.

        • the great yellow master race

no thy have not. americans are bunch of retarded and arrogant losers who cant read maps working for nothing, live under the brides and in a tent-villages and eat the hormon poicened mcdonalds shit.

          • 4chuan

I like how your post makes no sense whatsoever. Good job! Your English is really improving! Hopefully after another 10 years of study you’ll be able to construct coherent sentences and spell words like “poisoned” correctly.

Protip: Use firefox, it has a built in spell-check. So you don’t sound like a fucking idiot while insulting the imperialist running dogs.

        • Developing China

Of course US’s standard of living is high. China is a developing country not a developed one. At least they don’t spend beyond their means for your comfy standard of living. Isn’t it this way of thinking that got you into this economic mess on the first place? Maybe that’s another reason why your cost of living is going through the roof.

And as for your salary thing. Man I hope it stays that way, it’s how China gets all the business and how your manufacturing industry is withering away. Win for China.

          • Fike2308

“At least they don’t spend beyond their means for your comfy standard of living. Isn’t it this way of thinking that got you into this economic mess on the first place? ”

Yes, Americans do usually live beyond their means and I’m sure that this has contributed to the economic crisis that a lot of Chinese people seem to be getting off on (even though it’s affecting China too).

This “economic crisis” doesn’t worry because it’s temporary and China has a loooooong way to go before the entire country is as developed as the US.

Anyway, I’m not worried about the economy in the long run.

    healthy living style

  • yangrouchuan(r)

I used to have a job where I slept at a desk all day too. I also once had a job where I labored in the hot and nasty sun almost 8 hrs a day except my food consisted of McDonalds or awesome Mexican food from taco trucks.

  • bleah

Awwww *looking at photo of goverment officials*

  • shenyang

    Reminds me of this:
    http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/CT-Solitaire-Draws-Criticism-57146112.html

As for the migrant workers, they have shade, good food, and look happy. I’ve had worse jobs myself, and have seen much worse in China. If the OP was trying to make a point, he failed.

    • the great yellow master race

i rememba we paid 20 dollars to piss those people on. literaly. 20 $ for 10 min shity job, never saw such happy faces again..

its great top be the on of great yellow master race and have 20 dollars in China. god i love it!

      • Fike2308

        Piss those people on?

        What?

  • Tommy

Don’t mess with migrant workers, I’m sure we have a ll seen a 70 year old man pick up a bag of 100 empty bottles and a truck and donkey and climb 10 flights of stairs with it.
I remember humping bricks around in my summer holidays, best time I ever had. Although I did blow my wages on cider on Friday nights.
    Wish I could go back.

    • Lewceein

cider? was “back in the day” the 1920s?

  • Alan

Migrant workers are bad-ass! And they can drink bai jiu so rough it burns your throat and rots your guts!

As tyler durden says best in Fight club:

“We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not… fuck with us.”

  • Chen

To those who has commented that the migrant workers are in better condition than others : Would you like to put yourself and work as them, in their wages? Migrant workers are people as well as you are. If they don;t cause any problem, I don;t see why they must be treated as such.

The picture of government workers : If this is the real condition of China’s political rulers, then it would not be strange to see many self centered Chinese posting in these forums

  • Whitepower

She is a goddess, more beautiful than a white women.

  • Dr SUN

I liked the photo of Govt bosses working hard, that was funny.
