Chinese Netizen Reactions To CCTV Attacking Google

gao-ye-cctv-interviewFrom Hudong Baike:

A Letter To Gao Ye

Schoolmate Gao Ye, hello: You probably do not know me, but I know you from Focus Interview. I attentively listened to you talk about the “Google China using yellow pictures [pornography] and vulgar content to poison your schoolmate” thing, and was deeply touched and learned a lot. Whether or not that schoolmate is really yourself is not important, but I hope to give you some sincere advice.

One, you must not look at pornography and vulgar content too much, Schoolmate Gao Ye. I do not know if you with your schoolmate have reached pornography and vulgar content through links on Google China, but as a big brother who has matured from youth, let me say to you that normally you must not watch too much A片 and avoid vulgar content. These are bad for your skin. These past two days, did you stay up all night going online to find 毛片 ["hand films", pornography films] look at pornography doing your homework in preparation for the CCTV interview? Look at yourself, just two days and you no longer look human: slackened eyes; wrinkles on your forward; gaping mouth. That’s why big brother is offering you a piece of advice: look at less porn and go outside more, wouldn’t that be good? Another thing, there are always at least a few girls in your classes, right? Occasionally molesting them a little is definitely more exciting than porn.

Two, you must not accept interviews from CCTV about vulgar content, Schoolmate Gao Ye. It is not that I am jealous of you getting on CCTV, really. It is because after 60 years of studying CCTV’s programs I have discovered that every schoolmate that has gone on CCTV to interview about vulgar content always eventually has a bad fate. Let us use schoolmate Zhang Shufan from the year before last as an example. Just days before Teacher Edison Chen’s photo exhibition, CCTV’s “Xin Wen Lian Bo” broadcast “Schoolmate Zhang Shufan’s interview about pornography and vulgar content”. At the time, Schoolmate Zhang Shufan only said “very yellow, very violent” these few words, but do you know what happened to her? There were even more wretched/perverted pictures but I will not post them here. You as a good young lad currently studying in university should know what accepting this kind of interview will do for your future prospects.

Three, you must use Baidu to search for pornography and vulgar content. Of course, Big Brother always advising you is wrong, as a person who does not deeply understand AV, but I do understand the internet and Google China is absolutely not a website to find large amounts of AV, pornography, and vulgar content. If you truly cannot control yourself, allow me to teach you a few tricks, I guarantee it will better than searching through Google. You can go visit techweb, read every post and discussion, and sometimes be pleasantly surprised. At the time, it was on techweb that I found information about Teacher Edison Chen’s photo exhibition. And now there is this popular thing called “Baidu keywords”. As long as you use Baidu search for these keywords, you cannot go wrong, even though I too do not know why Baidu has that many keywords that can be used to see pornography and vulgar content. Other than Baidu, you can also use a software called “Green Dam – Youth Escort“. However, you must not install it, because this software’s screening ability is very strong. Rumor has it that when you look at a yellow-colored picture, as long as there is a bit of black color, “Green Dam – Youth Escort” will block it. However, finding the hack through the internet, you can obtain the “Green Dam – Youth Escort” black list of filtered website addresses. Once you have that, will you still need to go on Google?

Four, to conclude schoolmate Gao Ye, I hope you can gain something after reading this letter I have written for you. I also hope from now on, every quiet night, you will no longer use Google China to search for pornography and vulgar content to complement the five girls to satisfy yourself. Go out more, and you will discover a even better life! Sincerely, Lalala.

The comments below are not in response to the above letter. They are reactions to the news of CCTV attacking Google and netizens discovering that the CCTV interview was fake:

Comments from KDS:

This is a temporary worker. [Joke that a lot of employees who embarrass their employees are accused of just being temporary workers.]

ishter:

Nowadays when the news interviews or when some shows find people on the streets, they are all acting.
One of my friends alone has acted more than once.
This is nothing to get worked up about.

Very CCAV, very stupid cunt.

CCAV‘s bad habits never change.

CAO!! Pretending to be a netizen to represent us!! And he TA MA was exposed!

No wonder China can’t make any good movies.

**, for this kind of news to come out at this kind of time, it must be because:

1: Intentionally creating the false impression that there is too much internet pornography, highlighting the importance of Green Dam.

2: CCAV suddenly has switched sides, turning 180 degrees from criticizing Baidu to criticizing Google, having made contact with Baidu’s Spring Festival Gala’s public relations, truly suspicious.

I don’t want to be an internet mob, but CCAV you really underestimate our IQs.
Can’t help it.

This kind of despicable trick, cannot stop the deep friendship between CCAV and the people!

Talking morality with CCAV, isn’t that a waste of time?

KIMI:

This is a typical hard disk!!

I don’t understand, how has China not received an Oscar yet? What a truly mysterious land…

After being uncovered by netizens, this bastard will no longer be wanted by his master, his future ruined, what a sin, idiot!

Sigh…they [CCTV] truly think that the people still have the same ability to receive information and levels of awarness as they did decades ago…leaders, you can change your way of thinking now…

summer:

I have finally met a living 5毛 ["wu mao dang", fifty-cent member], my life was not a waste!

This must be ding‘ed up, and hopefully foreign TF can repost it to foreign BBS.

This time they have made an international joke.

CCAV itself is mentally retarded, treating us all as mentally retarded as well.

Comments from Tianya (no longer available):

男人装女人爱:

Google did not give money to CCTV and did not buy advertisements, right?

Truly stupid~~not even understand the unwritten rules.

Google is already a eunuch, and they still can’t get a break?

kenman001:

They are creating something that has more impact than the “Green Dam” Gate incident, to divert everyone’s attention…impressive, truly impressive…

CCAV really is a whore.

CCTV doing this is brazen extortion. Last year they exposed Baidu, but after Baidu gifted CCTV several tens of millions and ran an advertisement during the Spring Festival Gala, there was no more. Now they are extorting Google.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and CCTV are a family.

If they do not tell everyone how serious the sexual and vulgar problem is, how can they demonstrate Green Dam’s great significance?

While they are at it, they can conveniently chastise a disobedient Google.

Has CCAV degenerated to this level?
Is employing a real university student this hard?
The Party must be really disappointed with you~~

cun1228:

Let his [Gao Ye] internet life vanish, this is us ordinary people’s last remaining territory! “wu mao dang” can get lost!!

“Very yellow, very violent”, and now “absent-minded”. CCAV you are 装13 again!

May I ask CCAV Focus Interview, are you guys prepared to speak for the Party? Or for the people?

CCAV is niu,
Not long ago they received Google’s money and messed with Baidu;
Now they have received Baidu’s money and are messing with Google,

Ate the plaintiff, eating the defendant,
CCAV is niu.

saint1985:

Nowadays netizens are not all stupid, CCAV needs to be clear on this point, stop being clowns.

xianzhi82:

CCAV‘s shamelessness is something the entire country knows, but what I never imagined would be that they would be this shameless.

yueshna:

I “absent-mindedly” float by~

  1. Off topic but can anyone tell me if the Chinese are watching Iran at all?

Good website if you want to follow the story. http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/

  2. What? Use goole china search for porn? I live in a city where you can buy porn on the street! Why china hates google? Is it because google refused to give away our privacy? Or is it because google owns blogger.com, youtube? (both have been blocked in china) “We never fear the Internet”. said by Qin Gang. Baidu.com is a pirated copy of google. Just look at its home page! Plus you can download mp3s for free. Isn’t that great? Baidu people certainly know how to “copy” and “paste”. Look at its “baidu encyclopedia”, what a trick! If you want to search for something useful in other languages, google is the only site that’s fast, easy, and give what you need. Try use baidu, sohu, even yahoo.cn, you’ll get nothing but crap!

  3. In yellow master race such things like barbarian porno do not exists!

Yellow master race uses the sexslaves and plain fucking!

  4. It is so easy to access porn in China, you don’t need google.

  5. In the vein of ‘grass mud horse’ and ‘river crab’ society puns, I suggest renaming ‘Green Dam’ to ‘Green Damn’.

Somehow, it feels more accurate. I can only imagine screaming ‘Damn it!’ until my face turned green if forced to use it.

  6. Honestly, CCTV ought to be ashamed of themselves. This is protectionist behavior, nothing more. Fuck you, CCTV, you bunch of crooks.

  7. I figure there’s gotta be a dental dam joke in there somewhere but I can’t find it.

  8. CCTV at its finest

  9. “Other than Baidu, you can also use a software called “Green Dam – Youth Escort“. However, you must not install it, because this software’s screening ability is very strong”

are they recommending software to use but not install?

  10. “It is so easy to access porn in China, you don’t need google.”…

It is easy to MAKE porn in China… no need google.lol.

  11. If Google has the courage, it should tell the Chinese Government that it will shut down its operation in China.

If it does not, the CG will increase its demands until it controls Google.

  12. Fuck China. that is all.

  13. No way, the netizen’s comments are the most awesome thing I’ve ever heard from the Chinese internet.

    • I know, right? This time around was amazing. Maybe it’s partly cause this is a topic EVERYONE agrees on. Haha CCAV

      “This is a temporary worker.”
      -classic

  14. When CCTV exposed Baidu’s shit all netizens stood with the station.

When CCTV exposed Google’s shit all netizens stood with Google.

    Isn’t this funny?

And because of that, it might be smart for Google to pull itself completely out of China so the brewing rage can finally unleash.

The government is really playing fire with this one.

    • You are right, and I often wonder why Google did not pull the plug before. It would be a huge statement and possibly have important positive repercussions.

That is also why the chances of this happening are next to none.

Notice the double standards from Google. They are very quick to put out a Farsi translation tool because of what is happening currently in Iran, but still they are willing to bend over for any retarded censorship request made by the CPP. Of course, they are merely “following and abiding by” local regulations. What a bunch of bullcrap.

      Money has no smell…

“Titus, son of the Roman emperor Vespasian, had criticized a tax on public lavatories. Vespasian held a coin from the first payment to his son’s nose and asked him whether the smell was offensive. Titus said no. Vespasian replied ‘And yet it comes from urine’”

      • The Persian translation thing is hypocritical, but Google China is definitely a victim, it’s close to impossible that companies can thrive in China without political donation and Google China has done it and keeps doing it, which is respectable enough for me and the major reason Chinese netizens support the company. People sympathize with decent or victimized side, and that’s exactly what’s happening right now.

You could call it a PR strategy, and it’s been overwhelmingly successful among the Chinese netizens.

  15. Can anybody explain the 9th comment from KDS to me? It says “This kind of despicable trick, cannot stop the deep friendship between CCAV and the people!”, and it links to that post about the Wen Jiabao-shoe incident. Whaaa?

    • That’s what Wen said right after that shoe thing.

“This kind of despicable trick, cannot stop the deep friendship between British people and the Chinese people!”

  17. Google is in a trap. The head of Google-China is a mainland Chinese.

    • Li KaiFu is from Taiwan, or so as I heard, and he has a godly reputation among university students.

Also, domestic medias are starting to make fun of the phrase “心神不宁”, CCTV is once again at the center of negative opinions, as they deserve.

  18. Today`s Google is tomorrow`s Internet trend in China, which is out of question.

  19. “Another thing, there are always at least a few girls in your classes, right? Occasionally molesting them a little is definitely more exciting than porn.”

    Did anybody else notice this?

  20. not matter how many advices you suggest, i think the effectiveness of the result is so low!
    1. why the lad so indulge themself with the pornographic pictures and valgar content???The main reason behind that lack of the education about the sexy. In the mainland, there is little time to discuss the sexy in the class. however the teenagers full of the interest and curiosity to sexy! So the China government should plan a revolution about the lesson of sexy. using the way to better and strengthen their mind.

  21. Thanks a lot for this translation Fauna. Interesting. We look forward to the next round of this combat MIIT vs The People…

  22. After payed for saying this, this poor guy will be immediatly abandoned by his temporary employer. His life will be totally ruined.
REmeber this, it is always not a good choice to cooperate with “CCTV”.

  23. google is blocked here in Beijing.

  24. Google and Gmail blocked in Western China

  25. 2009 Declaration of the Anonymous Netizens

To the Internet censors of China,

We are the Anonymous Netizens. We have seen your moves on the Internet. You have deprived your netizens of the freedom of speech. You have come to see technology as your mortal enemy. You have clouded and distorted the truth in collaboration with Party mouthpieces. You have hired commentators to create the “public opinion” you wanted to see. All these are etched into our collective memory. More recently, you forced the installation of Green Dam on the entire population and smothered Google with vicious slander. It is now clear as day: what you want is the complete control and censorship of the Internet. We hereby declare that we, the Anonymous Netizens, are going to launch our attack worldwide on your censorship system starting on July 1st, 2009.

For the freedom of the Internet, for the advancement of Internetization, and for our rights, we are going to acquaint your censorship machine with systematic sabotage and show you just how weak the claws of your censorship really are. We are going to mark you as the First Enemy of the Internet. This is not a single battle; it is but the beginning of a war. Play with your artificial public opinion to your heart’s content, for you will soon be submerged in the sea of warring netizens. Your archaic means of propaganda, your epithets borrowed straight from the Cultural Revolution era, your utter ignorance of the Internet itself – these are the tolls of your death bell. You cannot evade us, for we are everywhere. Violence of the state cannot save you – for every one of us that falls, another ten rises. We are familiar with your intrigues. You label some of us as the “vicious few” and dismiss the rest of us as unknowing accomplices; that way you can divide and rule. Go ahead and do that. In fact, we encourage you to do that; the more accustomed you are to viewing your netizens this way, the deeper your self-deception.

You are trying in vain to halt the wheels of history. Even with your technocratic reinforcements, you will not understand the Internet in the foreseeable future. We congratulate you on your adherence to your Cultural-Revolution style conspiracy theories in your dealings with dissent; for we too get nostalgic at times. We toast to your attempts to erect a Great Wall among your netizens, for such epic folly adds spice to any historical narrative. Still, there’s something we feel obliged to tell you.

NOBODY wants to topple your regime. We take no interest whatsoever in your archaic view of state power and your stale ideological teachings. You do not understand how your grand narrative dissipated in the face of Internetization. You do not understand why appealing to statism and nationalism no longer works. You cannot break free from your own ignorance of the Internet. Your regime is not our enemy. We are not affiliated in any way with any country or organization, and we are not waging this war on any country or organization, not even on you. YOU are waging this war on yourself. YOU are digging your own grave through corruption and antagonization. We are not interested in you, destined for the sewage of history. You cannot stop the Internetization of the human race. In fact, we won’t bat an eyelid even if you decide to sever the transpacific information cables in order to obtain the total control you wanted. The harder you try to roll back history, the more you strain the already taut strings, and the more destructive their final release. You are accelerating your own fall. The sun of tomorrow does not shine on those who are fearing tomorrow itself.

We are the Anonymous Netizens. We are the sum of the world’s entire online population. We are coordinated. We are dominant. We are innumerable. For every one of us that falls, another ten joins. We are omnipresent. We are omnipotent. We are unstoppable. We have no weaknesses. We utilize every weakness. We are the humanity under every mask. We are the mirrors of conscience. We are created equal. We are born free. We are an army. We do not forgive. We do not forget.

    LIBERTY LEADS THE INTERNET.

    WE’RE COMING.

  26. PRC goverment needs to be wise, be moral, be careful

  27. @The Grudge

“NOBODY wants to topple your regime.” “Your regime is not our enemy.”

“We are going to mark you as the First Enemy of the Internet.”
    ……

Don’t be so silly and naive.

    What are you talking about?

Who the f**k do you think you’re playing with?

    • Duh… I did not write that. Check the link at the end of my comment. It’s some news that came out yesterday.

Some Chinese Netizens reacting to the Green Dam I guess.

  28. I can’t believe he recommended the guy to molest others.
    :|

  29. “Another thing, there are always at least a few girls in your classes, right? Occasionally molesting them a little is definitely more exciting than porn.”

The translations are excellent on this site however this sentence should be corrected immediately. I am sure that the original poster Lalala did not mean “molest”. This is a very vulgar word that is reserved only for grown men touching under age girls is very inappropriate sexual ways. Its something you go to prison for in the West.
I hope that you are able to update this translation.
