Thief Stripped, Beaten, & Then Paraded On The Streets

A thief caught, stripped naked, and publicly shamed.

From NetEase:

Thief stripped and beaten then paraded on the streets

Yesterday at the Wujin Street overpass there was a thief who was caught while stealing things. His clothing was stripped off by the shop owner, and the word “thief” was written all over his body and face. On such a cold day, seeing that really made me feel pity [for him]. However, upon knowing that he was a thief, [I] forced myself to ignore my sympathy and hurriedly took some photos, without looking back again.

In China, a thief is stripped, beaten, and publicly shamed after being caught stealing from others.

Sigh, feel sorry for the person who’s under such a miserable condition…

Comments from NetEase:

空-白:

Deserved it!

网易火星网友:

Shouldn’t even leave his underwear on!!!!

zhumiao1314:

Don’t really need to take off his clothes, so merciless.
Each time [he gets] caught, chop off one finger.
If 10 fingers have been cut off and [he] still steals, then at least [he’s] very dedicated, thus, we should respect him.

广东揭阳网友:

Good! How it should be! Lets see if you’ll steal again.

yueneng007:

Deserved it, I just finished buying a new bicycle for my wife, didn’t even ride it for two days and a thief stole it! Deserved it! Take him out!

异鄉游子:

Thieves are detestable, but vigilante punishment is also wrong! Cherish the rule of law, starting with the small things.

風飛霧裏:

Infringes on human rights.

三拐两拐:

Let him have deep-felt gratitude for this profound memory.

小小奎:

[If you’re going to] punish then punish harshly.

仙居如花:

Lets work together
Feel sorry for the person who’s under such a miserable condition

caolei_8:

Sigh! Don’t know what to say, thief is indeed despicable, but seeing him like that also [makes me] feel pity. Thieves, why do you guys bother [risking this kind of punishment]?

蓝色骨头:

Isn’t doing something like this also breaking the law? Having the police take care of this should be enough.

aaazzswgyj80:

Human rights my ass. [I say,] good!

taylorgil:

While stealing someone else’s stuff, [did he] think about the other person’s human rights? Stealing other people’s belongings already strips away one’s own human rights. [He] deserved it. Just don’t beat him to death.

  1. If your going to be paraded nude, you might as well properly display your goods. He should have just kept yelling expletives if he wanted to leave. They aren’t going to parade a guy around who is insulting everyone. But I guess hindsight is always 20/20.

  2. Forgiveness is a trait shared only by the strong.
If he stole then give him your shoes too.
You weak barbaric people, I feel sorry for you.

  3. dont deserve it!!!

  4. What did the guy steal?
If it was a little food because he was starving, slap him and send him on his way with a bowl of rice. Anything else he deserves a beating.

  5. Padawans and Jedi-knights are shit.

Fucking stupid and inefficient feudal concept.

    Professional Militaries FTW!

  6. whoa whoa, say what you will about other stuff but don’t knock star wars.

Padawans and Jedi knights are the shits.

  7. Well stated for China though. I’m going to steal this quote too.

  8. Nah! They call that Capitalism with a capital C a la Madoff et al.

  9. Right..Midi-chlorians. Yup. The day Lucas explained the force was the day I gave up on Star Wars.

  10. You cannot have or steal 400% of anything. There is only ever 100% of something.

    You guys are dumb.

  11. > The funny thing is our most our bad news is already translated

You mean translated to Chinese? I didn’t see that. It’s a good idea to have ukSMACK or usSMACK. Some commenters here will get butthurt for sure :-)

  12. You obviously don’t know how difficult it can be to own your own business. It’s a good thing that this thief didn’t commit his crime in the Middle East. I believe they cut off the thief hands.

  13. Yes, indeed it is. The Chinese media never miss a good “AMERICA IS DANGEROUS AND IMMORAL” story. Seriously, it’s not that uncommon to read about shootings via Xinhua that aren’t deemed national story stateside.

  14. Except they didn’t. Honesty? WTF, that’s why you’re retarded.

  15. In slightly more diplomatic terms: stealing land implies taking it from others. What “others” are we talking about, here? Han Chinese is composed of all the various tribes who adopted a common culture. Those tribes were the same tribes who were living on the land in the first place. So how is that stealing?

  16. One more post: that’s not to say Han Chinese never stole *any* land, but to say 70% of China was stolen is retarded and is a distortion of what actually happened. One people displacing another – that’s stealing. Multiple peoples gradually melding into one another over thousands of years of mutual interaction and conflict – that’s China.

  17. You’re again confusing the process of North American colonization with the imperial system of historical China. There was no such thing as a Han Chinese “ethnic group” in pre-modern China. There was only Confucian culturalism, which specified that those who adhered to Chinese ways, were Chinese (ie “Hua”). China was built through imposing a single culture (with local variations) upon a multi-ethnic empire. It was not the same as Europeans coming into the Americas and killing off 80-90% of the natives through Old World diseases, then taking over their land once that was done.

Both southern Han Chinese and northern Han Chinese are the descendants of the natives in southern and northern China since ancient times. Imagine if, instead of an overwhelming number of Europeans migrating into the Americas to displace a small number of native Americans, there was a huge population of native Americans with whom a moderate number of European colonists intermarried, and you’d have China.

The case in South America is actually closer to that of historical China that in North America, since the Spanish practiced intermarriage and assimilation as a form of imperial expansion. By contrast, Anglo-Americans practiced anti-miscegenation all the way up to the modern era.

  18. nobody is pretending anything, aware or not, is nothing something we can pretend. we can’t just attack others for they did what we will not choose. Without wrong, we will never know right; without cold, we will never know warm; without left, we will never know right; without evil, we will never know good. If your value serves you, good for you, but let live as well. I am not saying i am pro his deeds, i am just saying we really don’t have the position to judge.
He might be a loving dad/son desperately needs to provide for his family :(. And who else needs more love and support than them? i can’t think of any.
maybe “love” is the word we need to ponder, what is it exactly?
(sorry Uber, i don’t exactly know what i am talking about :P)

  19. and to be really honest, i am sorry that he got caught. if you want to be a thief, at least have good plan and try not to be caught!!!

  20. Thats not how my Xinjian friends describe it.
