If those driving ordinary VW Santanas were to hit it, they would definitely be financially ruined.

The taxi driver is smart, staying far far away.

Such a crowded street and yet such a distance between the cars [surrounding the Bugatti), the drivers behind are definitely thinking very clearly [to avoid getting too close].

Park 10 minutes in front of a bar/nightclub and all of the XS [girls] inside will run out~

Go drive once around the Shanghai World Expo construction site and he can take it back to Europe for major repairs. emoticon

LZ‘s post is so funny…
first a partial frontal photo that [makes the car] look really impressive…
then a zoomed out photograph, showing that the road is blocked [with traffic]…
So no matter how impressive the car you drive on Shanghai’s streets, there’s no much difference from the ordinary Volkswagen Santana next to you. emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

A really nice house is driving around.

Why are there so many people looking at this car? Why aren’t there any people looking at just who is driving this car, what kind of background, whether it is a man or a woman~~~~~That this car is is niu everyone knows, but the person who can afford such a car and get it licensed [and insured] is even more worth our attention and gossip. I prefer a horse myself but then again I’m Mongol

    • 可口可乐

I’d like to take this car and run over all the crowds of staring Chinese. Now that’d be news worthy of a translation.

Then I’d take a rickshaw to the closest skewer guy and relax knowing that I have contributed to the world.

    • Gana

      Mongols sucks at all!!!

  • krdr

So surreal. Of course this guy showing off, as anyone else would.

PS: “Squeez your ….” LOL. Fauna, keep going with this.

  • Doto

I would be scared to death driving such an expensive car in the streets of shanghai.

    • GFZ

LOL… you be scared? Imagine the other drivers driving near that car. One little accidental dink on that car and their lives would be financially ruined.

  • bill rich

Has any body here ever heard of “insurance” ?

    • SLX

LOL seriously these guys here probably have never driven a car before.
      I was thinking the same thing… g0t insurance? :P

    • too yellow

The premiums are high, and it isn’t mandatory. Much like 70′s in the US when insurance isn’t mandatory most people don’t have it.

  • ecodelta

Maybe it is made in China after all.

  • http://yanxishan.wordpress.com/ Yan Xishan

I see these similar cars on the streets of Taiyuan (you know, home to China’s finest and wealthiest coal bosses). Personally I do not drive anything that, in a pinch, could not run on baijiu. Limits the options but I like the sense of security.

    • Carwyn

Probably not, as only 200 – 220 were ever made and sold. And most cars you see on Taiyuan aren’t the fastest cars in the world or cost around one million pounds (pre-owned).

      • http://yanxishan.wordpress.com/ Yan Xishan

“Similar,” as cars that are far too expensive to be driving around urban China.

Not “similar” as in coal moss mistresses in in Taiyuan are driving Bugatti Veyrons, just not this exact car in the photo.

        • http://yanxishan.wordpress.com/ Yan Xishan

Cause that would be silly. Even sillier than the typos in my above post. Moss mistresses?

          Back to drinking.

    small cock, sir?

    • AgentZero

Exactly what I was thinking. I think this dude is compensating for something he’s lacking in another department.

However, can’t hate on a dude for choosing such a powerful car.

  • golly_ms_molly

    very poetic.

I had a student in Shanghai who drove a Bentley. He actually had a guy who would follow him around in a regular car whenever he had to park in a busy place. They guy would park near him and then stand near his car as a “bodyguard.”

    • huh?

I’m guessing this was a “sports” model since I don’t see why you wouldn’t want this bodyguard to be a chauffeur instead.

      • Mike

Probably don’t want him to drive his precious Bentley coupe

      • Mike

What’s the point of driving BV in Shanghai, total waste of its power.

  • UnclePu

Considering the quality of the roads in China I wouldn’t want want an ultrahard sports car under no circumstances.

I rather go for anything with air suspension. In a Bugatti, Ferrari or similar you can feel the shadows from bridges in your spine.

  • hugz

Always a larf to see these things stuck in traffic and going nowhere, according to the great Guru Clarkson of Top Gear, its “bloody uncomfortable to sit around in”.

  • Centrist

I saw a cartoon once where there was a foreigner on the Beijing subway sitting on the left and an alien sitting on the right. In the middle were two Chinese guys, staring of course at the foreigner and uttering the obvious “laowai!”

This is 2010, not 1910. Really, you Chinese care too much about what other people are doing and fail to focus on their own lives.

Who cares about someone else’s car? Look at it, appreciate it, and go on. Don’t stare at it endlessly until it is out of sight as if you will never see one again.

    “shan pao”… really.

    • http://cnreviews.com Kai

What does the cartoon caricaturing Chinese people noticing foreigners have to do with some people admiring/envying a car they know to be extremely expensive?

How is admiring/envying someone who can afford such an extremely expensive car suggest that they care “too much about what other people are doing”, more than most people? How does that suggest they “fail to focus on their own lives”?

How is this phenomenon of staring at something that catches your eye and interest specifically “Chinese” anyway? You’ve never seen non-Chinese people gawk at things before?

“You care too much about what Chinese people are doing and fail to focus on your own life?”

      Cripes man.

  • GFZ

Such a waste to drive one of these cars in downtown Shanghai during the day. At least drive it at night. Maybe run a red light and some people over too.

  • Girlyman

I have seen a bugatti going faster than its shadow. The car’s shadow fell way way behind the car, believe it or not. That is how fast bugatti can run. No shit. LOL..

  • mingster

Guys! If anyone of you sees this Veyron again, scratch it!

  • Ruud

It is just a matter of time before you will find pictures of this exact same car here: http://www.wreckedexotics.com/

Some of this white Veyrons brothers are up there already ;)

  • FYIADragoon

I bet this guy sees mad mistresses. Man I would key this guy’s car so badly if I had the opportunity to do it secretly.

    • SLX

if you want mistresses unfortunately having just a car wont do, you need some extra cash too.

    • 可口可乐

What’s with all this talk of keying cars? You are just as low as those peasant Chinese who all-day have thoughts of doing this. Despicable.

You need to see a shrink to find out what your problem is; either that or get off your ass and get a better paying job so you can feel better about yourself.

  • ShanghaiSteve

It’s faster to walk down Huaihai Lu.

  • FDI

Look, you all jealous people, admit it, its fun driving it around. We humans are all shallow unconsciously whether you agree with the truth or not, and whatever you will say otherwise is just mere indication of your envy.

There are guys who has money to burn, cars like that to them are just like buying a computer for a normal human being.

Trash it, crash it, pick up girls, scratch it, race with shanghai taxis are just something rich bored people do to find amusement in life.

    • the critic

Not jealous of your english skills.

      Sue whoever’s teaching you.

  • tomjay

    wow, that is expensive

  • Chicken of the Sea

As expected the plebean masses have to playa hate on the baller.

This guy obviously is just showing off his brand new ride. Ballin’. If he wanted to actually drive it Shanghai’s raised freeways are pretty clear at night. Zoom Zoom.

LETS ALL GET EXCITED AND TALK ABOUT LADY GAGA’S AMBIGUOUS PENIS AND ANOTHER FAMOUS PERSON’S ADOPTED AFRICAN CHILD. THAT’S HOW WE DO.

  • Zebadee

So that’s the bastard who stole my car!

  • dethebile

So Zebadee, you stole my car?

  • too yellow

What’s the point of driving this such horrid traffic, at least Dubai have a nice desert outside to do top gear shows.

  • Chimerican

This was a rented car for a day to show off in a big city. This guy only paid a little more than renting a regular car. So what is the big deal?? Anyone can affort it.

    • http://i39.tinypic.com/rt3qdz.jpg Victor Straight Ballin

First, there are no Bugattis for rental in China, not even old Ferraris and second a Bugatti costs like usd$2-3k for a single day(a minimum of 2-3 days sometimes is mandatory so $8k-$10k) which is too expensive to the average person mainly in China not to say you must be 30+ and make a safe deposit of like usd$5-10k to rent some cars in case you crash it, an amount a lot of people cannot afford to risk in a rental.
Renting a Bugatti or even a Ferrari definitely isn’t to the poor, I’m sure you never rented an expensive car in your trips to state that.

People talking about the owner’s dick size are just a bunch of losers, don’t tell me you would not buy a Lambo, a Ferrari or similar car if you had like a 100 million dollars of net worth. Get real and go work, maybe if you are good enough you’ll be able to buy a decent sports car become a real straight baller. xD

  • Dongdong

If I come back home with a car like that, it’ll be a great disappointment for my father who has always taught me interest in expensive cars was the most retarded stage a human being could reach.
    Seriously, who cares ?
He can show off 10 min, good for him, that just proves he’s dumb (or he wouldn’t waste his money with that).

  • The John

    Ok, well.

    I think… GOOD FOR HIM!

Do we have to assume that he is showing off…

If anything, I wouldn’t spend money on a expensive car, because I don’t like exotic vehicles.

On the other hand, if a man did an honest days work, he should be able to enjoy his money. We don’t look down on people that blow their cash on bars/clubs, fake goods, and other things…

    So, why hate this guy?

The only thing I couldn’t accept is, if he got his toys through illegal/corrupt means…

But, if he didn’t… Let him party…

    I say… Good for him!

    • SLX

well yeah nothing wrong with him…

Its just most guys on here has never even heard of car insurance.

  • I’m in Wuxi

I’ll bet you that the laowai driving that car is banging serious amounts of shanghai girls…

  • Joe Banks

    Italian piece of shit!

Really, I don’t much care for those kind of cars, and would not buy that if I could afford it. Nor would I even drive if I could afford it. Fark driving, especially in China and VERY ESPECIALLY in Shanghai. Unless it’s a limo with liquor and a pee bottle, there is no good way to sit through Shanghai traffic.

It’s a car. I don’t know what a 10 million RMB car can give you that a One Million RMB car could not. Just saying. Where would you park the thing?

    • http://i39.tinypic.com/rt3qdz.jpg Victor Straight Ballin

Dude, I doubt you’d say that if you had a 100 million dollars or more. One more thing, no offense really but China isn’t US where cars sells for the “price of a bicycle” and you see burger flippers driving decents Audis and Bmws.
As you said it costs 10 million rmb(usd$1.5) but in US, in China it’s at least 16 mi rmb and if you think that is crazy imagine in Brazil where this car won’t sell for under 22 million rmb if you import by yourself which is the cheaper way. lol

btw this car is around $2 million dollars now in US.

  • lee

The rich n the famous = CHINESE…..NO QUESTION ASK

What is the big deal here? The owner is just human like the rest of us. He needs to eat, sleep, go to the restroom, and even if he was the emperor of China he still has 24 hours a day like the rest of us…

the only difference between he and I is:

with all that money I would be using it to start a shelter for all those poor dogs in China that are skinned alive or help find those rabbit crushing “变态” people. Some of the richest people I know are the stingiest AMEN

but I guess that’s how they got rich in the first place hm?

I don’t know this guy but what if he’s just a shallow guy with no aim in life but materialistic things and no humanity at all?

There’s a famous Chinese saying that goes,” A man was so poor that all he had was money left”

  • Chinglish

    Yeah,you’re right.The streamlined vehicle are always girl’s eye-catching.

Sorry I even hadn’t heard of “Bugatti” before. The appearance of the compact(maybe not proper, sorry for my bad English) resembles the shiny surface of Apple notebook.
