Legendary Chinese Warlord Cao Cao Was Korean

As you may have heard, the tomb of legendary Eastern Han Dynasty warlord Cao Cao (155-220 AD) was recently claimed to have been discovered. It was said that he had 72 fake tombs to hide his true tomb and there is still some controversy that this tomb is really Cao Cao’s tomb. If you are interested, you can learn more about Cao Cao here. However, this post is not really about Cao Cao…

From NetEase:

As expected! Cao Cao ultimately becomes Korean si mi da

Following the discovery of Cao Cao’s tomb, enthusiasm over exploring the mysteries of Cao Cao’s tomb instantly rose up on the internet. With everyone discussing the discovery of the tomb to the grave robbers to the items and concubines buried with Cao Cao, and from these items exorbitant value to investigating the DNA of the remains, it can be said that the enthusiasm has become increasingly higher. Yesterday, a discussion forum shockingly reported some controversial news that people cannot help but be indignant. Let us take a look…

News from the 《大韩民报》 ["Da Han Min Bao"], Korea’s Ewha Womans University professor Zheng, while refuting that Cao Cao’s tomb is in Anyang [Henan] and following a discovery from Professor Zheng’s decades of research on Chinese and Korean history, said that the famously fierce Cao Cao from the late period of the Eastern Han Dynasty was actually Korean.

Si mi da people [making fun of Korean language], can you guys stop being ignorant…letting the entire world look at you guys as a joke? Always following other other people’s ass yet still thinking of yourselves as glorious, I’m speechless. Is your nutrition so good that your skin can be so thick [shameless]!

Comments from NetEase:

hwwy3:

What are Koreans trying to do with this?

平衡天下:

Koreans are so incredible! What others have just discovered, they long already had!

秋暮之巨龙:

Are they really this YY? Bang zi aren’t stupid to this degree, are they?

人间胸器:

Haha, yet another thousands-of-years-old Chinese figure that they have discovered is Korean~
Koreans~ If you guys research a few more years history, who knows, you might discover that China with its 5000 years of history actually originally split from Korea 5001 years go.
…(when people become shameless, they become invincible)….

钢板操穿:

Everyone stop cursing the Koreans. Actually, they are only trying to say that Koreans are a part of the Chinese nation, and want to return to the Chinese nation!

所谓伊人:

Lou zhu, the Korean text doesn’t say anything about Cao Cao being discovered by Koreans, much less Cao Cao being Korean…

I don’t know if the lou zhu can read Korean…

czlaoxue:

According to research, humanities ancestors were also Koreans, and that the planet was also created by Koreans.

yezhendong.1:

o(︶︿︶)o Sigh, no matter whether or not the LZ translated correctly or not, Koreans always do this.

princessh:

Lou zhu, I didn’t see any language that said Cao Cao is Korean, it is clearly just a report that Cao Cao’s tomb has been found~

所谓伊人:

Lou zhu, may I bother you to tell me what passage, what sentence in the material is written that Cao Cao is Korean?? May I bother you to excerpt/quote it…

The material at least in this post topic so far has nothing that says Cao Cao is Korean!!!

Also, the netizens who commented above, if you don’t read Korean don’t blindly follow others causing a fuss!!

[Are you guys] trying to cause international divides/conflicts???

The article only says that China has already excavated Cao Cao’s tomb, then just introduces Cao Cao’s historical role…and doesn’t say much of anything else.

那森:

May everyone please note!!!1
All conscientious people should go investigate the website lou zhu posted. That website has Chinese and within this article there is no Korean person like the lou zhu says who claims Cao Cao was Korean. This lou zhu has bad intentions, may everyone please be careful.

The pretty and the handsome. Are Korean. chinaSMACK personals.

  1. Well the word for 漢 (Han Chinese) 韓 (Hanguk) are the same character in the Korean language: 한. So all Chinese are Korean by this logic. LOL

    • Thats because its a homonym…Its like “desert” for instance. Would you eat a vast amount of space filled with only sand? Honestly now, read up a bit before you post…

      • I was jokingly pointing out the lack of distinction on the part of the Korean language regarding 漢, 韓(State of Han), 韓國 (Hanguk),etc. which all uses the same hangul character. I mean what would a 漢韓詞典 be called? 한한Dictionary? wtf, lol.

P.S lighten up, its all fun

      • desert and dessert are not homonyms

Honestly now, read up a bit before you post…

He that gives good advice, builds with one hand; he that gives good counsel and example, builds with both; but he that gives good admonition and bad example, builds with one hand and pulls down with the other.

      • You mean ‘homophones’.

        • Not homophones either. The verb, “to desert” and the noun “dessert” are homophones. But the noun “desert” and the noun “dessert” clearly have different pronunciations.

    • …which came first? chinese hanzi or korean text? tough one :S only about 4000+ years difference

    • I admit u r smart,the Korean are genius whatever!

They should be ashamed of their self-abased & unwisdom,

I feel pity for them that they don’t have rich cultural deposits for their country and people, but how dare them could stole and distorted other’s histories?

Motherfucker! These are the histories of my country!

  2. bring your popcorn… lets all wait for PUSAN PLAYA comments on this!!!

[Note from Fauna: I cannot read Korean. PUSAN PLAYA, can you confirm this news? ;)]

  3. This is a prank on a WAY OLD prank from Taiwan. A while back there were romour that the Korean claimed that Confucius was Korean, and also the baseball player Chien-Ming Wang (a Taiwanese baseball player who plays for the Yankees, and since that Taiwan don’t get a lot of these International “fame”, Taiwanese consider them pretty much the best thing they’ve got) was Korean.
after this had happened, there were naturally some ill feelings between Taiwanese and Koreans. There were rage amongst Taiwanese people about this claim as well but it turned out all to be fake as this professor never existed. And the Korean had to explained over and over again.
This is just a play on that SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN

if you can’t read Chinese, then web translate it. If you search 孔子韩国人 you’ll get a lot of related stuff, but this all happened in 2008, and it’s all a Internet prank anyway (as afterward people start claiming that the Korean things the moon festival is Korean, Shun Zhong Shan is Korean, blah blah blah) …… never like that ever happened really

    • Many articles maybe prank, but korean people DO think that confucius is korean
I studied in the so-called best university of korea and when i asked them, pretty much everybody told me he was korean.

korean culture is nil and they are quite frustrated about it
so all they can do is claim their neighbor’s culture
      - hence claiming Tsaotsao wouldn’t be a surprise

      • Sorry China boy but Korea never ever claimed Confucius was Korean. The Korean professor who made the claim never existed. It was just another Chinese lie.

Naturally, this explains why Koreans hate China the most out of all countries. Korea hates China even more than Japan. Thats because at least the Japanese do not make fake rumors to raise their self esteem. Korea hates liars and China is the master of lying.

Taiwan is an inferior country who loses to Korea in everything. China is a giant sweat shop that is very polluted. If you’re jealous of Koreans, at least try to tell the truth. Dont resort to lies just because you guys feel inferior.

        • “Thats because at least the Japanese do not make fake rumors to raise their self esteem.”

Japs make up all sorts of shit about Dokdo, war crimes, sex crimes, you name it. Stop letting those filthy faggots off the hook! How dare you call yourself a real Korean!

          • I agree, Japs suck balls. But at least they are step above China. Japs may deny history but at least they dont resort to idiotic accusations.

Honestly though, its downright pathetic that China-China men need to resort to lies to make themselves feel better.

  4. learn to troll better

  5. Did PUSAN PLAYA piss you off with something he said lately, Fauna? Also, chalk up another point for the brilliant translation skills of your average Chinese netizen, thank god some of them at least knew the language.

  6. Mao Zedong was an Uyghur, I heard it on NetEase so it has to be true.

  7. None of these stories about Koreans claiming Chinese historical figures or Chinese characters themselves having Korean origins are true, however their results are very real. I know quite a few several older Chinese people, intelligent professionals who do not easily prejudice against others, used to like Korea (or at least ambivalent) but because of these stories hold a very negative attitude because of the supposed “theft of culture”. On the other hand, I also know similarly reasonable and intelligent Koreans who actually believe Chinese characters were originally used by Koreans who then passed them onto the Chinese who claimed them as their own. So now now people in both countries despise each other based on a few pranks on the net.

Wake up, we have all been trolled~ I’m sure if people searched hard enough there are real issues that will make everyone piss all over each other.

    • Many of the wild historical claims from both sides were results of a mix of nationalism, ambivalent pasts, historical revisionism, or just down right eccentrism. They are no different from all the conspiracy theorists in the West (moon landing hoax, 9/11 truthers, 2012 believers and whatnot) who despite their complete idiocy, were still able to garner significant media attention, likewise attracting support from the everyday philistines. Honestly most Chinese and Korean ppl could care less (unless of course they are trolled LOL ).

  8. At one time, i heard the koreans say they found Mars first, so they believed that belonged to them as well. Well i tell you what, let them have Mars because if we believe everything the Koreans said, we wouldn’t have any time for any pressing matters that need to be addressed.

  9. It’s a typo. Chosun.com has a Chinese version, you can search that article’s Chinese version and read it yourself. Clearly they typed 东汉 in Chinese, so 东韩 in Korean version is a typo. Many people pointed this out on the net already. Including many Chinese comments translated here.

  10. Given China’s inclination towards bullshit I guess we should feel lucky they’re not accusing us of using the blood of Chinese children to make Matzah balls. This is all driven by envy, the Chinese envy Korea because we’re wealthy and they try to make themselves feel better by making us look like the insecure ones.

The paragraph with the underlined text is simply about the Henan Bureau of cultural relics holding a press conference announcing the discovery.

    • But last time I heard, Koreans are poor and cant afford to eat meat.

    • Yeah great, like I said, this prank think first happened in Taiwan, a country with similar wealth as Korea and is relatively advance; and Koreans are claiming that Wong Jian Min the baseball player is Korean, how do you explain that.

If you really want to be nasty about it, allow me to point out something then. I think this is because countries like Japan and Korea have a lot of culture that are hand-me-downs from China. Such as Chinese characters and a lot of the holidays. the principle of Confucius was taught in Korea to young kids (although on the textbook I was told Confucius was always taught to be Chinese). To say Chinese are envy of Korean, we should be accusing you guys to have no real ancient culture of your own. Any sort of your traditional culture are derivative of the Chinese culture. You, sir, are our ugly bastard children.

      • Wow, you might have hurt my feelings if there were any aspect of Chinese Confucian culture that hadn’t been ripped to threads by Marxism and nihilistic materialism. I’m going to take your argument one step further, we’re more Confucian than you are, we are the Byzantium to your barbarous remnants of Rome. If you really believe in traditional Chinese culture and you’re correct in asserting that Korea is Chinese, it would mean that China should rightfully belong to the Republic of Korea, not the other way around.

        • haha, you are an idiot, what logic, China should belong to Korea because you stole our culture but “you took it further” (even though that’s obviously debatable” HAHAHHA. Whose culture is it in the first place? we do whatever the hell we feel like doing with the culture originated in our country, idiot. I didn’t want to believe at first but obviously if this is the mentality in Korea, you are a bunch of thieves

          • that argument is a fallacy as well, which society didn’t come a long way from many many years ago. It’s like the US culture was the same 50, 60 years ago? so what, Abe Linkin shouldn’t be US either, because the US culture now is a rip off of the culture it used to have (better or worse, it’s not he same) ? so he should be Korean now?

Any modern society is a derivative of it’s ancient culture, so your argument is what, any ancient culture belongs to the world and anyone can claims anything to be theirs as long as it’s old?

        • While Rome still stands, the Byzantium was overrun by the Ottomans, is this how South Korea will end?

        • What? That makes as much sense as some Chinese trying to say that Genghis Khan was actually Chinese.

          http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1760090/posts

      • Ohh and while you’re at it, stop getting such a stiffy over the fact that Confucius was Chinese. If Confucius was alive today he’d be living in exile in America after having served a prison sentence for subversion.

        • OK, normally I think your posts are random provocation, but that was nicely played…

        • Yes, it was nicely played

        • fuck that was point on!

        • so? he would have still been Chinese, geniuses go through hardship a lot, for example Vincent van Gogh. It’s related to a particular country HOW? I’ll stop getting a stiffy over the fact Confucious is Chinese if you stop getting a stiffy everytime you see your mom in the shower

          • Depends on how you define whether someone is Chinese.
            Possible options:
*) to be born in China
*) to grow up in China
            *) to have Chinese citizenships
*) Mandarin as the mother tongue
*) to have slanted eyes (a factor on which some simpler people might categorise someone as ‘Chinese’)

        • well, true, confucius have many choices really, he could go to chinese hongkong, chinese taiwan, sigaporens, or america, even japan, the only one thing so sure is he would never go to a country like corea or something which is claim he is one of its race, confucius would feel so insulted being claimed by such a inferior slave race enslaved by china for 1700 years and never had anything culture of their own,lol

        • PP just owned. ’nuff said.

        • Wow, that’s pretty ignorant; if you’re actually up to date with China news, you’d know that Beijing is using Confucius and his teachings to fill the spiritual vacuum in today’s Chinese society. So no, he won;t be in jail, he would be a rock star.

So what are you guys going to claim is Korean next? Jesus? lol!

        • Ding ding ding !!!

This guy knows what hes talking about.

      • Taiwan is a self important-pretentious country that the rest of the world views as irrelevent. They are not even recognized as a country by the UN. Ask any Korean person what a Taiwan is and they’ll probably assume its a type of food, a chinese restaurant, some Chinese politician or what not. Koreans do not know or care about taiwan. This really bugs Taiwan and makes them assume Koreans have a superiority complex. When in reality, its simply because Taiwan loses to Korea in everything. And Koreans just do not care.

Taiwan is mad jealous at Korea. Im not even joking. Their newspapers bitch and moan about South Korea surpassing them in everything. They even resorted to naming their current president the taiwanese Lee Myung Bak(Korean president) because they wanted their countries politicians to follow Korea. A few years ago Taiwan was ahead of Korea in everything. Today, Korea kicks the shit out of Taiwan in everything. Korea has Samsung, LG, Hyundai, Kia etc. Taiwan has…..NOTHING. Koreas GDP nominal is 20% higher per capita. Koreas pop culture is famous all across asia, whereas everyone makes fun of Taiwanese pop. Korea doesnt even care about baseball yet kicks the shit out of Taiwan in it despite baseball being Taiwans national pastime.

99% of Koreans do not know what Taiwan is. The remaining 1% knows of Taiwans existant and mock it for being so pathetic. LOL.

        • Taiwan has a secret weapon, they make over 97% of the world’s PC motherboards, that includes laptops, bomb them and suddenly you’ll have no-where to stick that American CPU, Korean RAM and American or Korean HDD (The Samsung Spinpoint F3 500gb and 1tb drives are in fact the best value for money as they have 500gb per platter and thus about the same speed as 2gb 4 platter drives so please buy Korean not WD or Shitgate).

          • Taiwan manufactures 97% of motherboards at the lowest cost. They dont develop the technology or innovate. Its the foreign companies who do all the research while the Taiwanese only manufacture it. Its no different from the sweatshop that is China.

If Taiwan were to go down, companies like Intel and AMD would simply move elsewhere.

          • Where did you get that 97%? Source?

          • Oh dude this whole argument just fails on so many levels.
i can hardly contain the laughter. my px 339oX motherboard is way better than the other gook’s motherboard………

u cudnt make this shit up

and they wonder why all their women r ga-ga for white rod………….

          • Lol DavidPaulBuckley. What kind of name is that? If you’re going to impersonate a westerner, atleast try a little harder. Whats up with all these Chinese kids?

Just like how China is a giant sweatshop for cheap goods. Taiwan is a giant sweatshop for cheap motherboards. Taiwan doesn’t develop the complicated technology, chips and semiconductors that go into motherboards. American, Korean, Japanese and Europeon companies do. Taiwan doesn’t have the brainpower to complete such a task.

Know your place in this world Taiwan. We develop and research the technology. We have the brains. We then give the technology to you to manufacture at a low price. You have the tiny brain.

    • Given Korea’s inclination towards bullshit guess we should feel lucky they’re trying to say caocao’s monkey’s uncle is korean too. This is all driven by envy, the Koreans envy everyone else because they’re wealthy and they(Koreans) try to make themselves feel better by making others look like the insecure ones.

The paragraph with the underlined text is simply about the Henan Bureau of cultural relics holding a press conference announcing the discovery.

    • Pusan you need some mad props for the matzah ball blood reference that is like the most educated diss I’ve ever heard from you.

    • How are Koreans wealthier btw? I’ve lived in Seoul, Pusan, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. 1st tier Chinese cities are on par or better than Korean ones. As an Aussie expat in Asia, I can say Koreans (including those in Sydney) are the insecure ones. Being stuck between two greater powers and being the victim for most of your history probably forms an unhealthy complex.

  11. should I act surprised??
but this is going to turn into a huge flame war so fast!

  12. Mao’s no Uighur. Maybe if you started handing politicians money to run for reform instead of attacking them, they wouldn’t be forced to turn to the Middle East.

  13. HOLY COW GUYS I JUST FOUND OUT OBAMA IS KOREAN!!!! LOL

  14. Hi, I’m Bin Laden. I’m actually koren。:D
Hi,This is Mao typing from nether world. I confess I’m actually koren, too.
Hi, This is grass mud horse(cao ni mao). In fact ,my nationality is koren, three !
    사랑해요(萨朗黑哟):我爱你.

  15. This is extremely retarded. The guy who set up this article is just trying to start hate on koreans. I’m a Chinese American who’s majoring in Korea studies and I cant tell you that no where in the article the guy put up does it say that Korea is claiming cao cao. Also even IF one professor claimed it, it doesn’t mean that all koreans believe that. If you talk to most koreans, they think the whole korean confucious thing is ridiculous. So don’t let marginal extremists like the louzhu of this site fan anger between chinese and koreans. It is really stupid and insulting to our intelligence as East ASian people who should know better than to fight among ourselves over really trivial things

  16. Well its just some nob stirring trouble.

If Cao Cao was Korean, then he would be a Kim, a Jong, Lee or a Park, common Korean surnames. History books would have said Cao Cao ate Kimchi. I don’t see that at all.

  17. Very interesting. Before dvds, cds, iphones, designer clothing….the Chinese were faking tombs….72 of them. Now the Koreans are faking history about Cao Cao, what is wrong with you Asians?!

  18. I always assumed I was British, but maybe I’m Korean … Maybe I was born in the Korean part of the UK? OMG! I don’t know who I am any more …

  19. @ PUSAN PLAYA
Cao, do not pretend to be a Korean.I like you have a sense of humor.

  20. i’m chinese but when i’m at a korean brothel, i’m korean..no i’m chinese..no, korean, chinese, korean, chinese, korean..

  21. The next question is: was he North or South Korean?

  22. 荒诞至极!im thinking why koreans are so boring…

  23. http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%9F%93%E5%9C%8B%E8%B5%B7%E6%BA%90%E8%AB%96

Japan, Korea and Vietnam will be forever a sub-culture of the greater Chinese culture. They can’t change that, because Chinese culture is their core.
And they will be again Vassal-states of China, like the most time of their history. This is obvious and only a matter of time.

    • As they say, history repeats itself, right? I wonder which barbarian nation will conquer China and force the Han people to wear pigtails and shave half their head.

  24. @GermanChinese
“And they will be again Vassal-states of China, like the most time of their history. This is obvious and only a matter of time.”

HELLO!!! Keep low profile and only stupid guys claim that they are the smartest.

  25. Speaking of history repeating…

I think we need to get to work on that wall, cuz last time I there it would not stop a half testacled mongolian goat from crossing the boarder.

  26. HI I AM BAAAAAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO, CAOCAO WAS KOREAN? CONGRATS MR PUSAN PLAYA you deserve that and you also must be proud.

  27. Hi, I am Jesus, oh si mi da. I am also Korean.

    • Yeah. Well I’m Black Jesus and I just rode in here on an ass. Yo mama’s ass.

      • nice lol!…but while you were riding in on his mama’s ass. i just finished cumin inside of your mama’s ass lol

        • LOL! Dude why would you cum in your mama’s ass lol? Is it revenge for when your daddy came in yours?

          • lol Duuuude..i think your lost. i ain’t Jesus. i’m the dude that jizzed inside your mama’s ass while u were riding Jesus mama lol
nice try tho..but i’ll tell u what. u and ya daddy & come lick the crunchy bits off my penis courtesy of your mama’s ass lol

        • hahaha! Duuuude nobody confused you with Jesus. All you have in common with him is you’ll both die virgins. The only thing you ever jizzed in is a tunnel made up of your five best friends on your right hand.

Crunchy bits on your privates? You should get those checked out. Looks like you daddy planted more then his seeds in your rear garden.

          You so funny.

  28. mao was korean he had a fat korean moon face

  29. What Chinese are “proud” of is not 5000 year old history, but loneliness.

  30. It looks to me some bored chinese mingun is trying to stir up some trouble because his korean boss has not paid him for the las 2 months or whatever.Having said that, the poor fellow can’t even read Korean. On the other hand why these people keep saying that Kogurio is chinese when in fact has been proved to be 100 percent korean.

  31. Who cares?

Back then the concept of nations weren’t nearly as well defined as it is today. I would not be surprised if many people living in the Northeast region of China share the same ancestors as the modern kimchis do. Using logic from this article they are all kimchis too.

  32. indeed, Koreans, Vietnamese and Japanese draw a lot of culture from China but that doesn’t mean they’re inferior. We Chinese are from a big country and should be more tolerant instead of so narrow minded, sensitive and begin insulting Korea whenever something like this comes up. That doesn’t help our case at all. Anyone who reads history knows that Caocao had Xianbei鲜卑 as well as han and other blood as well. China’s ethnic diversity is its strength and so what if he has korean blood? China has over an over 2 million ethnic Korean minority and most of them are proud to be chinese.
Furthermore, its just a small number of Koreans that are radical just like a small number of CHinese are radical as well. Don’t let these radical views affect intelligent and rational people. China has been the center of east asian culture but if we are to be a great nation we must not be too proud to learn from smaller nations such as Korea that can adapt quicker to changes and respect their economic progression if we want to be respected by them as well.

    • Nothing against your post, quite on the contrary, but because you were talking about blood sorts/kinds/brands of certain ethnic groups, I remembered that I always wondered: can a blood test (ie. DNA test I guess) determine a Han-ness, Korean-ness, Jew-ness, etc. of a person?

  33. Probably not since the genetics between chinese and koreans are so similar anyway. There could definitely be some Chinese AND Korean blood in a lot of people in Manchuria or in the Northern Korean Peninsula. The main point is China itself is a mixed ethnic country. Being Chinese is not a racial issue. The Tang, Song, Yuan, and Qing emperors all had some “minority” non-Han blood in them. The Yuan and Qing made a lot of the Han elite intermarry with the Mongols and Manchus (just as the Mongols did in Koryo with the Koreans). So as for being Chinese, even IF some chinese famous person had korean or manchu, or xianbei,or mongol,or hun or tujik blood, it doesn’t mean they are not Chinese. Cao Cao for example, is a part of Chinese history. His ultimate goal was to unify China and be the Chinese emperor. That’s what makes him Chinese. If he has Korean or another ethnic blood,it just shows further the unifying power and attractiveness of Chinese culture and civilization.
In my opinion, I’d rather accept a white uygur or ethnic Dai who loves China and sees himself as chinese over a han chinese from Taiwan who hates China and doesn’t want to be Chinese. All my opinion of course ,but I feel that multiethnicity and the power of China to draw others to it is what made it so big and great in the past and that is the way it will become great again in the future.

    • Sheesh, this post makes way too much sense to be on this forum.

    • Uh, the Yuan and Qing emperors didn’t just have some minority non-Han blood in them. They were fully non-Han, and they discriminated against Han people. Let’s not get so carried away with modern multi-ethnic “humanity is but one family” ideology to forget that just because you think of someone as your brother, doesn’t mean he’ll think of you as his brother. Going by what you said, wanting to annex China into your empire doesn’t make you Chinese. Treating Chinese people as your own people makes you Chinese.

Also, where did you hear that Song emperor Zhao Kuangyin had some “minority non-Han blood” in him?

    • It is true a lot of emperors come from Xianbei stock, but Han isn’t a race though… non-Han doesn’t really mean anything outside of culture. And Uighurs aren’t white, they’re just not dark.

  34. A while back, there was an incident in which a Korean textbook claimed that half of China belonged to Korea. Naturally the Chinese went berserk after hearing this and demanded Korea apologize and the publishers be executed. Of course none of the tantrum throwing Chinese read the book or even knew how to read Korean.

Turns out the book they were criticizing was a childrens book on dinosaurs and had nothing to do with Korea, China or countries for the matter. Ooops lol pwnt. Korean netizens had a good laugh.

Naturally, Chinese people are socially irresponsible and moronic at times due to their controlled media and society. They simply arn’t ready for freedom of press due to immaturity. Even Jackie Chan who’s spent considerable time in the west admits that China is immature and not ready for it.

Hopefully China will one day become mature like the rest of the free world although I seriously doubt it.

Chinese immaturity is probably also related to the one child policy which created a bunch of whiny spoiled babies who cry about every little thing without checking the facts first. As you can see, there are still Chinese kids on this article who believe Koreans are trying to steal Cao even though its been refuted.

    • Meanwhile, crazy Koreans protest over a fucking cartoon in Japan: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-01-13/korean-protests-call-for-hetalia-anime-cancellation

When will “mature, responsible” people learn that the subset of people do not represent the majority? But if generalization is the game you want to go by, I’m free to play.

      • I agree, making a big deal over a cartoon is stupid. Which is especially ironic considering YOU are making a big deal over cartoons by bringing that link up and exaggerating its effect on Koreans. LOL pwnt

Now that I think about it, at least what those Korean protestors are protesting against is real and actually occured. Its certainly a step above crying over a dinosaur book that supposedly claims half of China. Wouldn’t you agree?

        • No, I don’t agree, because this issue, which you try to downplay, actually led to the cancellation of said cartoon on a JAPANESE television. By contrast, the dinosaur book never led to anything but embarrassment for the Chinese netizens who believed it. Wasn’t this issue even brought up on the Korean CONGRESS?

When looking at events, both cause and effect must be examined. Netizens being retards over rumors is one thing – the main cause being ignorance – while people getting up in arms about what other countries show on TV is a whole ‘nother ball game.

          • Lol. I never actually asked you to agree or disagree. I was being snide and ironic. The fact that you answered it makes it even more hilarious.

As for this cartoon debacle, I honestly couldnt give a horses ass about it. Im a grown adult whos long past the anime watching stage….unlike you. If the Japanese agreed to canceling the show, then thats their problem. The fact that they agreed to canceling it might mean the Korean side had at the very least some merit to their argument. Although like I said earlier, I could give two shits about it.

If the cartoon in question was in fact making fun of Korea’s colonial period under Japanese rule or justifying Japan’s warcrimes. Then Koreans have every right to protest the cartoon. At least something like this is much more relevant and justified then throwing a tantrum over a childrens dinosaur book. Or the “oh-so-mighty” Chinese government flying into a rage and waging war against a Korean petshop owner.

            http://www.kooky.com.my/node/39

Oh China. You never cease to amaze me.

          • It’s funny that you bring up Jackie Chan as an example, “even Jackie Chan, who spent a lot of time in the West think Chinese arn’t ready …. “, that comment by Jackie Chan got him a lot of trouble. One thing that he says something like this, it’s fine cause he’s an actor and nobody cares, another thing that somebody actually quote him on it. Oh yeah, Jackie Chan says so, it must be true.

I know in Korea you guys all hang on to every word that RAIN says like it’s a sign from god, so I guess it’s understandable

          • What’s ironic about telling it like it is? Did the Korean congresswoman bring it up or didn’t she bring it up? Did Korean netizens make a mass online petition over a cartoon or didn’t they? You don’t give a shit, you say? Well, that’s fine – but your fellow Koreans do. Oh, did I just generalize? That’s the real irony, along with the fact that YOU are the one making a huge deal out of what happens on the Chinese interweb. It’s not exactly hard to find similar examples on the Korean interweb, but I rather prefer to stick to events that actually had an impact, instead of hearsay disproved in the very thread where it was presented (or did you not bother to read the actual article?)

            Real Korean, indeed.

      • There are so many cases of Koreans treating other people like shit on the interwebs that Korea passed a law which forces people to register with their real names and social security in order to post in chat rooms.

It’s no joke that Koreans are battle-hardened trolls when it comes to messageboard flaming, cyber bullying, and being general assholes. If you tell them that Kimchi stinks (and they do) you will get death threats. If you tell them that you just lost load of weight, people will tell you to kill yourself. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration that the Korean internet community is a cesspool of e-retards, trolls, and asshole to the nth degree. Many Korean politicians even think so. The self-proclaimed korean posters on this website only reinforces this idea.

That is of course not to say that there are no nice Koreans, but when they start to complain about bad chinese behave on the internet you know that’s all bullshit.

        • forcing to register is not to prevent trolls lol. It’s to prevent credit card crime, identity theft, pornography viewing by underage people etc. It’s to make Korea better. Korea has freedom of speech, so trolling is not regulated. China should try it sometime.

    • Also, this similar case also happens between Korea and Taiwan. As Taiwanese were furious about suppose cases of Korean claimed something of theirs (baseball player Wong Jian Min) was Korean.

Taiwan doesn’t have controlled in media and society, your excuse for that is what

      • Koreans regard Rain for what he is. A pop star. Nothing more, nothing less. The only people who like him are women. Jackie Chan on the other hand has been an “ambassador” of China for years and has lived in the west as well. Thats one of the reasons why Chinese netizens were pissed at him when he spoke the truth about Chinese maturity. China is not ready for democracy. As incompetant as the Chinese government is, they are still a step above those idiots who cry about Koreans supposedly stealing Confucius and what not.

As for Taiwan, they’re just a bunch of jealous ass suckers. They need every excuse to bash Korea because they lose to us in everything. Baseball is Taiwans national pastime, its their pride. Its the only sport they are good at. And yet they always lose to Korea. Despite the fact that Koreans in general do not care or watch baseball.

        Korea vs Taiwan: 9-0

Korea vs Taiwan: Korea-1st place gold medal. Taiwan- couldn’t even get a medal

        Korea-13 gold, 10 silvers, 8 bronze medals
        Taiwan- 0 gold, 0 silver, 2 bronze medals(LOL)

    • Look, for kimchi nation to claim that Chinese people are immature is a case of kettle calling pot black.

      http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-fg-korea-cyberthugs2-2010jan02,0,5421279.story

For those who are too lazy to read, it’s story of this german chick living in Korea who was getting death threats by the butt hurt kimchi citizens, because in her book about Korea she complained about the smell of kimchi (the food, not the people). That alone is enough to stir up an internet rage.

If you know anything more about the Korean media other than their cliched fail dramas, you would know that Korean media also loves to run feature after feature with Laowais praising how great mother Kimchi is. When any of these foreigners leave the land of Kimchi and actually speak their mind, that’s when the Korean internet community starts to issue death threats everywhere.

The internet community in Korea is poisonous, and so many have committed suicide over Korean internet posters being basic assholes, that Korea passed laws which forces everyone to register with the REAL NAME and SOCIAL SECURITY number in order to post on public message boards. No I am not bullshitting you, you can read about it here:

      http://wiki.nus.edu.sg/display/Country/South+Korea+enforces+new+law+to+curb+cyber+bullying

People like Real Korean and Pusan Playa (who is not probably not even korean by nationality) should feel fortunate that at least they are able to post their bullshit on Chinese messageboards without having to give out their real name, or getting sued by other butthurt posters like they do in Korea.

      • What a crybaby. Korean cyberthugs hurt your little feelings? Do you want a band aid?

Dont make me laugh, internet warriors exist in all countries. You only cry about them because you are just another butthurt Chinese kid who wants revenge. And China’s form of revenge usually takes the form of something like the following

        “Korea copied ”
        “Korean copied ”
        “Korea copied ”

Blah blah, blah blah, blah blah blah blah. Quit being a crybaby and tell your people to face Korea like a mature person would. With the truth. We Koreans do not lie about China. We tell you like it is. That China is a poor, polluted, loud, festering cancer whos only purpose is to manufacture cheap goods. At least we have the dignity to say it like it is. Your people on the other hand resort to rumors and lies to fill your own ego.

        • Maturity requires the ability to respect others. You, clearly, do not possess it, so these words coming from you are the equivalent of “democracy” from the Chinese government. You are the very caricature of an internet warrior, yet have the gall to complain about them, which makes me suspect that you’re not actually Korean. But then again, you do have the arrogance I’ve seen often in Korean nationalists forums, so I’d say it’s 50-50.

          • Another typical chin who believes the world should respect China. Respect is given to those who earned it. Not to those who cry the most. With China’s behavioral problems and immaturity, its not really surprising why China is viewed as a nation of crybaby simians.

Every single time China gets mad at something, they resort to fake internet rumors to “get even”. Like how Koreans are trying to steal Confucius and CaoCao. This is reminiscent of what middle school girls do when they get jealous/mad.

China = whiny crybaby middle school girl with mental problems.

          • Foolishness. Respect is a common human decency. It has nothing to do with respecting the country, but with respecting the individuality of human beings. You clearly do not have respect for anything beyond the shallow artifices you use to measure social status, which makes your criticisms more childish and pedantic than insightful. Anyways, I’m done with you.

        • “At least we have the dignity to say it like it is. Your people on the other hand resort to rumors and lies to fill your own ego.”

Real Korean, a few posts ago you were trying to explain in unfunny ways how the Chinese government has to censor the Internet cuz Chinese netizens are immature. After I pointed out the fact about how shitty koreans themselves behave online, you are now babbling something about revenge and manufacturing cheap goods? If you have the “dignity to say it like it is” just STFU and be thankful that you can post here anonymously, unlike your forums in mother korea.

The real question is: Are you fucking retarded?

          http://sfscuba.com/flame_pics/youre-fucking-retarded.jpg

          • Lol Chinese monkey. Maybe you dont understand. Chinese people behave like immature idiots compared to Koreans. At least Koreans have the courtesy to tell the truth. China however resorts to bullshit whenever they dont get it their way. The constant accusations of Koreans stealing this or that. Is that all China can do these days? Export cheap manufactured goods and lies? All China does is cry cry and cry some more. Just look at this-

            http://www.chinasmack.com/stories/chinese-angry-usa-donated-more-to-haiti-than-sichuan/

What a fucking pathetic victim complex. Stupid Chinese bitching that Korea donated more to the US then China. You guys should be thankful Korea donated anything at all. Instead you guys throw one of your infamous temper tantrums.

If China was destroyed by a meteor tomorrow, I would refuse to donate even a penny. Instead I will donate laughs and insults at China.

            What a bunch of pricks.

  35. Jesus was a Mexican.

  36. Apparently everything Korean. They even claimed Jesus was Korean.

  37. What’s Cao Cao to do with Korea. In the time when Cao Cao was in, there was even no Korea as a country. There were only babrians. Shame on those cocky koreans who always want to steal things from other people.

  38. Got to be an idiot to believe in this. But the random Korean person here is so off topic. A Taiwanese must have seriously whooped his arse.

  39. All Koreans know are how to make Kim Chee. And even Kim Chee making was copied from the Chinese a long time ago. Kim Chee making existed in China long before the Korean Nation was born thousands of years ago. Pure Truth.

  40. Kooks’ mouths and the breaths stink to high heaven due to the consumption of too much garlic preserved rotten cabbages and other garlicy foods. Their taste bud is one tracted minded, peppery hot. That is it. Anything less than heat (hot food) is not acceptable to the kooks.

  41. Chinese are fabricating “news” stories about Koreans again, again, again, again, again, and again. China, a land of fabricators.

  42. It’s another fabrication from China, I have traced that article at Chosun.com, no mention of Cao cao or Jo Jo (in Korean) being Korean ancestry. Why would Koreans claims Jo Jo as Korean? It’s another pathetic attempt at bashing Korean from China.inc propaganda agency.

  43. Whoever posted this ad has bad intentions…

    If you can read Korean,
the Korean article says that the tomb was found in part of China, it has no claim saying that Cao Cao was of Korean descent.

    What a prank.

  44. Well its not impossible, back then the boarders werent as defined as it is today. Only science can prove it through DNA testing. But for now the claim is unbiased.

  45. You people are so stupid…-.- sigh….what ever, if those koreans think that way, so be it. because they obviously know they do not have as good of an history as the Chinese does. Because if Chinese was really Koreans…why the fuck is Korean all the way above Japan? What the hell…lol. Plus…it was recorded that the Koreans back then was pretty much slaves to Chinese? -.- they were to give food and usable items to Chinese because they are pieces of shit back then. and still is right now. But yeah…stupid people, stubborn as hell. dumbass koreans.

  46. I can’t believe the sheer amount of misunderstanding between the two countries.

Um, I can read Korean. The news article says nothing about Koreans claiming CaoCao. The underlined part just says “Grave found in Anyang region of the Donghan period”. You should ask a real live Korean if they think CaoCao (Pronounced jojo in Korean) is Korean. Sam guk ji is so popular in Korea that there is a rule that every Korean must read it at least 3 times.

There has been many claims by the Chinese that a Korean professor, Park Jungsu claims confucius. That professor doesn’t exist, and probably 99.99% of Koreans will say Confucius is Chinese. Just ask real live Korean from Korea.

Koreans claiming Dragon boat festival? Korean Dano festival was originally called Suritnal. It was a festival involving lots of eating (like rice cakes). The name was changed to Dano in respect to the Chinese Duanwoo festival during the highly Confucian Joseon dynasty. But there is no dragon boat racing. The Korean practice of Dano is completely different from the Chinese Duanwoo. Only the names and date are the same out of respect.

Koreans claiming Chinese Characters. I went to the site, and the person does seem Korean, but again, you should ask what 99.99% of Koreans think. There is a Japanese religion that claims Korean characters came from Japan. Most Koreans don’t really care though.

Jesus is Korean. It was a rendition by artist Kim ki chang. Sort of like Black Jesus. I think it’s pretty creative work.

I noticed a video on Youtube of a Korean criticizing Chinese gamers. If you speak Korean you’d notice his Korean is very heavily accented and he uses words that are not used commonly. He could be a Chinese criticizing Chinese gamers under the pretense of a Korean, or a Korean that has been living in China (hence the accent). I think even some Chinese gamers don’t like the gaming etiquette of other Chinese players online. My Chinese friend showed me this vid and confided to me about how he also hates betrayal and mom jokes in Chinese online games. He was a bit surprised when I told him he doesn’t sound Korean though.

I wanted to have a discussion with some of my Chinese buds about the confucius, Dano issues, but it seems like most of my Chinese friends don’t even know about the issue. Maybe it’s a recent trend in mainland China.
I think with the popularization of Korean dramas in China, the government didn’t want the Chinese people to get too friendly with Korea, since South Korea is a democratic country and China is still communist in name (I don’t know why China hates the US so much. I haven’t seen Americans hating on Chinese). Also probably to get support for the Northeast Asia project where the Chinese are trying to claim an old Korean Kingdom of Goguryeo. Most Chinese in America and Canada don’t seem to have any idea about this project though. The Chinese in the mainland can’t check whether these rumors are true or not with the internet censorship and banning of google, so only false hatred developes and only believe what they are told. Those of you outside of China should check if these rumors are true by making some Korean friends and talking to them.
Don’t be afraid to ask sensitive questions. If you feel uncomfortable, change the topic. I remember feeling uncomfortable talking to a Japanese about the tensions between Japan and Korea. Somehow the topic was brought up, and I realized the Japanese don’t like talking about the issue not because they are not sorry about it, but because they are actually really embarrassed about it.

So all you Chinese (and Koreans and Japanese) who believe Americans hate Chinese, Koreans claim chinese stuff, and Japanese are not sorry, get out there and make friends, grab a pizza, eat some Kimchi and wash it with some sake. If you don’t ask, you’ll always stay ignorant and you’ll have no friends.

  47. wo i only stumbled here because I too was shocked by my friends saying that koreans (again too much generalization) claimed confucius. i asked them for proof, but they were all written in chinese on forums that cited korean sites as proof (i cant read korean either guhhh fail). after reading some of the english comments, apparently the whole confucius thing was a prank by a taiwanese site? i hope this is true. what a relief.

on another note, the translated chinese comments and the english comments here only further support my theory that chinese, korean, and japanese fobs will forever hate each other lol. i definitely know that korean fobs absolutely (and irrationally) hate japanese ppl, and to a slightly less extent, chinese ppl. and im pretty sure that chinese fobs seriously hate japanese ppl (and filipinos??) and koreans (though my friends were nice to me, i guess they were being polite?).

go Canada!! where ppl from all over the world can live (relatively) in peace! (even better than the US =P)

  48. Cao Cao
    صيني يا عم الحج
    Made in China (اصلي)

الله يخرب يوتكم دا انتوا متنيلين بستين الف نيله

    مع تحيات

    الصعيدي الاصتورة

  49. shit , only bench now

  50. we nothin… Al Gore invented that shiz by himself

  51. dude, I didn’t say Korean whatever ancient whatever crap is Chinese, there’s a difference. Also, it is because there is no Korean ancient whatever to stole. At least China have Cao cao and Kong Zhi, What do Korea have, RAIN?? (because Usher is obviously Korean) HAHAHAH

  52. Actually, if it wasn’t for Al Gore we probably wouldn’t have the Internet as we know it today. But don’t take my word for it, take the word of Vint Cerf A.K.A the father of the Internet.

  53. Father of the WWW, not the Internet.

  54. Nope. Tim Berners-Lee is father of the WWW. Vint Cerf is father of the Internet.

  55. Oops, got the names mixed up, you are right it was Tim Berners-Lee and he was working at CERN at this time.

  56. Yep, the internets come from CERN, a bunch of nerds looking to share their conclusions about stuff.
It’s totally different now, of course.

  57. I lol’d at the factory ships which conveniently produced vegetables and rice while on the open sea, where fresh water was presumably limited, where are such wonderful technology today?

  58. I studied there, had plenty of time to talk about anything.
In the midst of a conversation a korean friend mentioned that Confucius was actually korean (I think we were discussing about the confucean thought in korea today).
Being quite surprised I often asked other koreans (quite educated ones) in order to know if this mistake was widespread – it happens to be the case.

  59. not really, I honestly am not interested in any anything in particular about Korea. Well maybe except I want to ask them if everyone on the street behaves like over-dramatic soap opera. I mean if their bottle water commercial can be like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VYQY6WcJ2Y I imagine everyone on the street in Korean would be pushing, shoving, crying at the top of their lungs, girls slapping guys, guys slapping back ……….NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (kneel down on the street and howl)

  60. I’ll take internet addicts over guns and drugs anyday.

  61. yeah, so will an authoritarian regime…don’t want people having the means to defend their paper rights

  62. you didnt have to explain, when jones replied your comment he wasnt waiting for an answer.

  63. Yea, you and your “imaginary” korean friends. I first heard confucius is Korean claim not from a korean but Chinese. He said he read that Confucius could be Korean because his mother was a follower of shamanism that wasn’t part of Han Chinese traditions of the time (Korea was), that confucius in his annelects mentioned respect for the Yi barbarians (of which Korea was part of) that Gizi went to live amonst them, and his desire to live amongst them and that the place confucius was born in was outside of Han territory. I think he was trying to test me to see whether I would say Confucius was Korean, but I said even so, he’s still chinese. Me and my Chinese bud discuss things and we have respect for each other’s cultures. I wonder if you even have a good Korean friend. This may be why you are so bitter and full of hatred. Even if a Korean said Confucius was Chinese, or if he said, Korea also respects Confucius, it would probably register in you biased brain that he is claiming confucius. I would say either you are lying, you talked to Koreans who are bad at english, you were the one who tried to convince them that confucius was Korean, or you have some really nationalistic Korean friends.

  64. From my brief experience in Korea (just a one week visit to Seoul a couple years back), Korean people are VERY quiet and well-behaved out on the streets.

At least until late at night when all the businessmen are out on the sidewalks vomiting until dehydrated.

Kim Ki-duk and Park Chan-wook had prepared me for a world of head-slapping and calling each other scumbags. Unfortunately, if any of that exists, it is not in Seoul or only behind closed doors.

  65. No Da Gong Ji. masters at SAIS,. And no I don’t believe everything I’m taught is right. What is ur point in asking if I’m an undergrad student? Is that supposed to be an insult?
indeed, Koreans, Vietnamese and Japanese draw a lot of culture from China but that doesn’t mean they’re inferior.

  66. LOL, i agree. Koreans are fags.

  67. Thanks Chris, I hope there are more people like you. Even if I try to explain the misunderstanding, most people don’t like to listen. My best friend is actually Chinese, he takes pride in being related to Mencius. The first time I heard about Confucius being Korean was from him. He said he read somewhere that Confucius could be Korean because he believed in Shamanism and because the place he was born in was not really Han Chinese domain at the time or something, and Confucius says something about wishing to live with the Yi (barbarians that included Koreans) and says, “how can you call the Yi barbarians when Gizi went to live amonst them?” I think he was trying to test me to see whether Koreans thought Confucius was Korean, but I replied, that even if this were true, Confucius is Chinese. Some people say that they’ve talked to Koreans and they all claim Confucius as Korean. I would say they are lying, they are talking to Koreans with bad english skills, or all of their Korean friends are handpicked out of extreme nationalists.
I respect Chinese who take pride in their own culture while respecting other cultures without belittling them to make themselves feel better. I can go for hours talking about the historical friendship between Korea and China, the respect Korea had for China in the past and Chinese achievements.
Some Chinese don’t really respect other cultures, and they tend not to respect their own either. I had a few instances where I would say good things about China and they start insulting Korea and I don’t want to say anything nice afterwards (I’m pretty sure there are koreans like this too). These same people usually complain about how they hate being Chinese, to which I tell them about Chinese achievements to make them feel better, after which they start insulting Koreans. Love others, Love yourself and you’ll receive love back.
