According to the American “World Journal” [Chinese newspaper in America] report, in the past, it was rare for Chinese-Americans to enter the adult film industry, but now there are more and more. The past few years, there have even been cases of male and female actors [of Chinese origin] who have been murdered.
Up until the last century, it was rare to see Chinese in the adult film industry. However, with the influx of new immigrants, some people will inevitably enter this line of work, taking off their clothes before the camera, and become an A-pian star. This newspaper previously reported that a mainland girl studying at a certain well-known Southern California university has filmed over 200 “short films” for porn producers, completely nude and extremely provocative. She did not think there was anything inappropriate at the time, openly discussing it with her schoolmates online. The reaction of her Chinese schoolmate was polarized, with some thinking there was no big, even praising her courage and frankness, while others looking down and disassociating with her.
2009 September, Singaporean-Chinese adult film actress Felicia Lee was murdered at her white boyfriend’s home in Monrovia, the two only having known each other for less than half a year. Suffocated to death, Felicia Lee’s body was covered in bruises.
According to Felicia Lee’s own website, she was born 1977 October 22 and grew up in Singapore, was 5 feet 6 inches tall, with 34C, 24, 34 measurements. She had previously traveled to Perth, Australia, and studied for two years in a catholic school before emigrating with her family to Los Angeles. While attending college, she worked as a part-time model, appearing multiple times on Playboy television shows, Playboy magazine, import car shows, and other adult cable television programs.
If non-nude nightclubs are included, then there are even more Southern California ethnic Chinese involved in this industry. That Los Angeles as a major immigrant city is like this is no surprise, but even San Diego where it is considered to have much less ethnic Chinese has had a Taiwanese-run “South China Seas” night club, a legally run business. After ethnic Chinese abroad have lived in foreign countries for several generations, they adopt Western upbringing and values. They are only of Chinese descent, and their culture and values have been influenced by the western culture and values of their country of residence, their thinking westernized, so they doing this is not strange. What we need to be clear about is that they are no longer Chinese, but foreigners, so them engaging in the sex industry is their business as foreigners. Don’t always apply the label of shame yourself, because then you would be getting upset over someone else’s matters when they are not upset themselves!
