It's really only the Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin folk that think they are better than anyone else. I remember taking a class in Washington DC with a group of Shangai/Beijing students. They kept making fun of the barbarian Sichuan people and even said they deserved the Earth Quake. They treat all of the rest of China like second class citizens. As for me, I am proud to live in Sichuan were people are actually polite to each other. Chinese in West China are also very tolerant good people.
