Haha, I’m glad every country has these weird proposals!
In Germany it’s the question of adding a female ending with a capital first letter to every job. Just like “StewardEss”, CookEss, StudentEss.

well, the Chinese Communist Party understand well that language creates meaning and has an impact on our perception of the world. that is why they pay the fifty cent army to ‘harmonise’ internet content for them.

as such i think that LZ is right in his logic and there is obviously some gender disparity in China. You can see that from a lot of other posts on China smack too. of course China is not the only country. if you support equality of the genders you should seriously consider some of the arguments in this post.

If you do not agree with this post, you should consider whether you really support equality of the genders instead of deriding these ideas as being ‘ridiculous’.
