The previous iPhone girl was extremely hot/popular, and although the several that came afterward were not as hot/popular, they still became famous. This time, it’s Android MM turn to take the stage.

  1. Wow, surprisingly her Android girl’s singing was decent. From how she looks in that video i must say she is very pretty.

  2. my mobile phone has only two functions: receive messages and dial calls. made in germany.

  3. “Ta-ta-ta-tofu face, ta-ta-Tofu face!!! “

  4. Excellent! I’m digging this chick big time.

  5. Kill Lady Gaga iPhone girl.
    Fuck Beyonce iPhone girl.
    Marry Android girl.

  6. This is WAY better than that fake PixieTea girl from a few months ago. At least this one is real.

I really wish Chinese people would be more creative about writing their own music and stuff. I’ve been playing with a band lately and am extremely frustrated at their inability to improvise.

I’m like – it’s a 6 chord song in an E blues scale – these are the chords – just mess around in the scale and come up with a bassline – and the bassist is like “no you need to show me what notes to play” and I’m like “this is the key – I can’t tell you what notes to play because I don’t know, just make something up” and then they get annoyed with me.

And I tell the singer – why just play cover songs – why not make up some lyrics of your own? And she’s like “I don’t know how to do that” and I’m like it’s easy – just start singing and think of some words and stuff – and she’s like “I don’t understand – it’s too difficult”.

    • That pretty much sums up China as a whole, a country full of people with no imagination, with no creativity, with no inspiration, and a lack of willingness to try.

They’ll only do something if they see that someone else has done it and that its a success.

      I blame Confucious

      • As I stated this in an earlier post, creativity requires freedom of thought. We all know where China stands on that, don’t we?

        • That’s an oft repeated cliche, but I don’t think it’s true. You’re not prevented from being innovative just because you can’t complain about the government. Now, I understand that certain risque themes are censored/banned in China, but stuff like this doesn’t fall under that category. Things like scientific invention does not require that you possess a democratic or liberal government. See the USSR, which made great leaps in science even as the population toiled under totalitarian Communism.

          • creativity and critical thinking are similarly positioned points along the continuium. Ciritical thinking is by no means part of traditional (ie confucian) or communist society in China.
however while not makeing new products as such, process are being laterally extended.
            KTV you might have competition

      • No… wrong interpretation.
It’s the typical case when student is better than teacher.
And this is why China rocks!!!

    • I’ve been working in a Chinese high school for almost 5 years now, and I can speak from experience. None of you know what the f@ck you’re talking about (with apologies to Uber, who is trying to be a little better I think).

As for the education system, I no longer think that it’s an issue of forcing creativity out for political purposes, I think it’s a result of an education system that has as its end goal the goakao exam, which they need to spend nearly their whole educational lives preparing for.

    • And Yin (sorry, I glossed over yours at first…) is also trying. God I feel ike the “Spanish Inquisition” guy in Monty Python. “None of you know what you’re talking about, except Uber. No, ok. Some of you don’t know what you’re talking about, except Uber and Yin. No no no! Half of you don’t know what you’re talking about!!” Oy. Must be time to go to bed.

    • If you’re in Beijing, why not hang out at Dong An (East shore) near the Houhai post office for some live jazz? Or maybe you should try coming out to swingbeijing to see some improvised swing dancing?

Might give you something to be optimistic about.

I see innovation and creativity around me every day in Beijing. Sure, maybe it’s not everywhere, but if you look for it, you’ll find it.

      • On the point of creativity being an issue I must say I agree but with all of you.But on the point of the government being the problem of creativity maybe not true depending on how you look at it. I can remember almost picking a fight with a fellow colleague who plays and teaches piano because I ask her to play something on one of my songs and she was like :”what note?” And I was like “listen to the other beat and and song play anything” And she was like “how can I do that?” And I was like “just do it “and so on and…….. at the end nothing good came out. Now at school all what they do each time they need to do some advertisement or school activity I always try to give some ideas but nobody ever listens to me or always pretends to listen and at the end of the day the guys just log onto the internet and see who can pick out the best idea that somebody else is using and that is it. Even the school logo was just pick up from some web site. Nobody really cares to think and come up with something new and innovative. And in all of these except I am misjudging, I don’t see how the government is responsible.

  7. Can’t wait to see what Pusan Playa has to say. *eagerly squeals like a little girl*

    • I’m sorry but I really can’t think of anything funny to say, I had a hard day at work and I’m too fucking exhausted to be creative

The Android girl doesn’t look unnatural at all and although her facial features may be a little a-typical for a Korean, they’re not uncommon. Plenty of my family members have much rounder eyes than hers and they’ve never had any work done.

Her English is well pronounced but stunted and misemphasised but I guess you guys already figured that out by now. I much prefer the fat Taiwanese boy who sings like Whitney Houston, why was there never a Chinasmack post about him?

      • I saw the Taiwanese singing boy too but I did not do it because a lot of other websites already report it. In summary, Chinese netizens thought he was impressive.

  8. hmm, good. i am very dumb at music, do admire those who can sing well and dance well. hope there are more and more pretty and talented girls in this world. but as long as there is a woman, no matter what, always someone talks about looks. too boring!
i know music is not what i can handle, so do hope i can get a secret book of poker skills. though i’m already very good at it.

  9. “See the USSR, which made great leaps in science even as the population toiled under totalitarian Communism.”

No only exceed in certain area, while is was greatest benefit for “the state”.

The Western world strenght is can turn innovative development into commercialization for the mass and thus make life easier.

Soviet Union made remarkable achivement within Biology, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, physics. Both theroretical and implementation

And their aerospace and aviation industry was kick-ass.

But unfortunately, the average Soviet citizens never drove a decent car or have a hi-tech Commodore 64, the system had it shortcoming.

Soviet Union and PRC are not comparable, to much difference

Soviet Union imploded and collapse, the West dind’t.

  10. How can you have an android girl? Wouldn’t that be a gynoid?

  11. “Have you guys heard Korean people’s English? Amongst Asians, when it comes to English pronunciation, the best are China and Japan.” I don’t get why anyone has to comment on the performer’s English accent. Sounds like jealousy to me. Besides, everyone knows that the Asians with the best sounding English accents are the Singaporeans.

    • As someone who has a masters in Bi-Lingual Education from Columbia University and 8 years experience in working in Asia, I have to throw it out to Koreans for having the best English. I worked with the KATUSA in Korea program for a year and have never seen better.

      • Filipinos are the best at english second is the indians

        • Haha really? I could have sworn that people who are the best at English are from North America, England and such, being that English is their first language.

Well,at least the Filipinos police are good at hostage situations.
          Oh wait a second…

    • They are commenting on the English because they do not know what country she is from. They are trying to guess from her English accent. That is the reason. I think everyone tries to guess what country someone is from through their spoken language accent.

    • depends on the environment. Put Koreans and Chinese in an English speaking environment to learn from scratch, Koreans will always have a distinct accent. Even if they’re ABK. Prob because they hang out in their own little packs and speak nothing but Korean. Chinese varies, some will forever suck and some lose any trace of accent after 5 years.

  12. The factory girl is the only “iPhone girl”. And is cuter than both of these.

  13. i’d rather buy how ever many guitars are worth the three iphones

  14. The best at English is Japan. Hong Kong doesn’t count for the whole of China, mainlanders.

  15. iPhone girl is cooler because she had her picture taken on the production line and it was only till a customer bought that iPhone that she was discovered. These are just attention whores uploading videos like anyone else. They are pretty though :)

  16. Faint, she was singing Rihanna?

    I had no idea.

All I felt at the time was “the girl is singing English.”

  17. In the descriptions of the iPhone girl videos, I think you mixed up Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.

  18. Great, negro music making its way to the last untainted fair-skinned place on earth.

  19. iPhone girl is way more sexier then the Android girl, plus, the iPhone girl isn’t even wearing make-up..looks like she just put lotion on her face.

Tell the Android girl to make a video without make-up on, then we will see whats up.

  20. I can’t believe people are going back and forth about who’s prettier and who’s not. IMO, they are both pleasing to the eye and look very pleasant in a generic kind of way. Nothing about their looks really stands out, but it’s fine. Nobody will complain and turn them away if one of them shows up at your doorstep. But I do have to say iphone girl may have gotten some help from surgery.

  21. Lovley and i don’t care if it’s an advertising or not..

  22. you know all this playing music on smart phones business reminds me of the bushmen playing music on the coke bottle in gods must be crazy movie (for all the post 90sers it’s a classic 80s movie).

…iphone girl’s face is brand new and shiny. must have been recently made.

  23. both these girls are very pretty.

bet the jerk who was jerking off in the train in other post was jerking to the Android and iPhone girls.

  24. Great singer and talent! But I have to say she looks very plastic ^^

  25. This Android girl is Korean too you idiots.
    Her name is 성 보경
    See her interview in Korean.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_mDPdeY_zQ
For some reason Chinese netizens have turned her into Chinese girl, WTF?

    • C-C-C-Combo breaker.

Chinese people always claim everything Korean is Chinese. When Koreans make fun of Chinese people for being liars, China fabricates some story about Koreans trying to steal Confucius or Chinese medicine.

Summary: Chinese people are prolific liars and thieves.

  26. 这个 可以自动翻译?

  27. She’s cute, decent video

  28. ‘superman33′ said: “Aren’t all pretty Korean girls a result of plastic surgery?”

Hmm… isn’t that just like saying “Aren’t all Chinese netizens ignorant hate-mongers?”

  29. They’re not great…..You’re letting your eyes decieve your ears…..
only thing i can give a plus on is their guts to do something like this……

  30. You mean like Pocahontas? Her English was the cat’s friggin pyjamas in that Disney animated documentary.

  31. “Dank yuu four shoppING at 7/11, puhlease cum again” isn’t good English.

  32. Indians’ English is crap.

  33. Bahahaha. I lol’d.

Can’t wait for the next big thing to hit Chinese airwaves: an all-Tibetan hip-hop group. ;D

  34. “Oh mani padme hum” Live from 隔离区!

    I will translate that later,

    in the MEAN time,

    I like this girl,
just imagine what the “we” could do with
    50x ICU phones!!

    -

This is 4U Chunghwa! 五毛党 forever

    -
    hip it
    hop it
    live it

  35. 。。。你在讲啥?不太懂你的意思,写得什么玩意儿?

    。。。是我说什么了吗?我搞啥咪了?

  36. 我的意思??? 我告诉你

    Oh mani padi hum means,
Hail the Jewel in the Lotus in Tibetean,
    it really means, “Hello”
and yes there is a hip hop group they dont get out much,

now the real question , you tell me,

    在隔离区 还是 隔离期?

    你应该知道。。。。。五毛党 ???

See you further up the road!

  37. Hahahaahahaha
kedafu, are you seriously comibing the name of your special club with an attempt to drop some ur-ban fla-va on us?
Wumao membership and being cool are clearly mutually exclusive; especially wumao and hiphop.

“Give you a taste of party line
    Done on Chinese taxpayer’s dime!”

  38. Whatever, point is 99% of the world population have definitely no taste.
I might be old and grumpy too but come on!
The world is coming to an end and nobody cares…
Man, even the nu metal/emo/goth/I’m gay shit is better than these bitches. And god knows how slipknot and linkin pussies suck!

  39. IMO chinese english doesn’t sound good, but is easy to understand. Koreans and Japanese by comparison, are much much harder to understand.

  40. Well, I’m not so sure that those are the only two options. Creating a lasting change in the education system can’t be taken lightly. One immediate problem that comes to mind is: how many teachers would be prepared to actually start teaching instead of just lecturing? The universities would have to start teaching teaching methods that they’re probably not familiar with, and then you would need to wait a while before you had enough newly qualified teachers in the job market to institute an across the board change.
That’s just one problem that comes to my sleepy mind right now, I’m sure there are plenty more.

  41. Xav said:
“point is 99% of the world population have definitely no taste.”
    lol, ya, right.
“It’s not me, it’s the rest of the world!”

  42. Heh, your world is fun – “just do it!” seems to be the slogan. Fair enough, but some people prefer to do things in a considered careful way.

“7 years and no change isn’t taking things seriously, it’s doing nothing.”
Not true. First, qualify what you’re saying – no “visible” change. That doesn’t mean they aren’t talking about it. In fact, in the last several CPCCCPCPPCPCCP forums they’ve been talking about it a lot. Considering the state of the education system in the West, which is far from perfect let me assure you, can you blame them for not wanting to just jump headlong into some completely different way of doing things? Wouldn’t it be better to try to find methods that combine what you have now (good memorization skills, math skills) with some parts of different systems? Which parts to include, which parts to discard? Just changing for the sake of changing but with no considered thought is just as bad as leaving it the way it is.

“Anyone who is good. If they aren’t good fire them. There are TONS of people looking for jobs out there, start training them in better teaching techniques.”
I’m going to assume you’re joking here. How many “good” teachers do you think there are? Who decides if someone is “good” or “bad”? Who teaches the teachers the “good” techniques when no one has even decided what the “good” techniques are? Sure there are tons of people looking for jobs out there, but how many of them would make even “good” teachers?

“7 years… and nothing. They aren’t training anyone in new methods, they aren’t encouraging new methods, they aren’t doing anything.”
I’ll refer you up to what I said before.

Look, there are lots of different theories out there about what is the best way to educate people. When you’re planning a country-wide change to something so vital as the way it educates its children, why would you want to hurry? 7 years as opposed to the entire future of your country is a small amount.

  43. she’s korean not chinese

  44. Chinese accent and Korean accent when speaking English sound completely different.

  45. Damn right!, why many Chinese believes she’s Chinese. She doesn’t even speak Chinese. About the who’s sound better at English, well all East Asian suck at English due to their accents. Worse English accents are Indian & Chinese. I can not understand Japanese/Korean Engish accent, but don’t sound dodgy like Indian.
