    When Asians like Chinese people struggle when learning English, they get laughed at. Not in a good way, in the pejorative. They are looked down upon when they study harder than all others in America, they have to ‘tooth and nail it’ to get into good schools despite their lack of English speaking abilities. They become the butt of everyone’s jokes in Hollywood because Chinese people can’t pronounce English words properly and sound..well..awkward. Not anymore awkward than a white guy or girl trying to learn Chinese mind you, but because you’re Chinese, you get put down for your bad English. There’s plenty of television programs and movies where white people purposely degrade Chinese people for their shortcomings in the English language. It’s demoralizing for Chinese people to watch their own kind be put down in such a way that isn’t shared laughter for all.

    Chinese have a distinct accent that makes them become easy victims of other people’s vicious jokes. The Chinese language, especially Cantonese is harsh, loud and difficult on the ears. Mandarin, on the other hand can be a bit softer because it is like music, unlike Cantonese. Well…most Chinese in America speak Cantonese..especially in the Chinatowns in San Francisco, LA and New York.

    On the other hand the German language is very harsh and gutteral as well..not very attractive or sweet sounding to my ears. But of course Germans learning English aren’t made fun of by white Americas..Germans’ aren’t taunted like Chinese people are. Because…they’re fucking white! Ta-da!!

    When White people learn Chinese, they get encouraged and called names like “CUTE” and “FUNNY”..like they’re little furry animals or something. When Chinese learn English they are called derogatory names and laughed at, like some kind of fucking lepers.

            Maybe I don’t have enough experience with the kind of places you frequent, but I don’t think I have ever heard *anyone* use the term “chink” in the wild, much less Asians … I typically tell Chinese friends who ask about it that it’s offensive.

            I also have found the term “yellow” referring to an Asian mildly offensive in English (I know that Chinese refer to themselves as 黄人 — different language, different connotation). I’m really curious as to where you’re from that these terms have social rules similar to “nigger”.

            Seems like you didn’t understand it was a text originated by a Chiang Brothers, the only thing was that I changed the word from “nigga” to “chink” just as an example… SUDDENLY you don’t like it!?!?

            Further on I have lot of Chinese friends, I know a lot of Africans too and I like them all equally much.

      I often compliment my Chinese friends on their level of English fluency, and most of them deserve it. I know firsthand the difficulty of learning a foreign languages: I’ve gone through it twice, and may go through it several more times before my life is over. Of course a little teasing might happen, but I expect them to do the same to me when I speak Chinese imperfectly.

    I have lived in America for 36 years and I will tell you that white people no matter how great you think they are, or how well you think you know them, even if you consider them to be your best friend…are not. It could be out of jealousy, or spite or just pure hatred. Who knows? We are dealing with people who have the highest cases of child molesters, serial rapists and serial murderers. Not a joke.

    Chinese people are stupid to treat Whites like something special out of the extraordinary. Who the fuck cares if some white guy is struggling with learning how to speak Chinese? What’s the difference if he was black or Hispanic, or middle eastern? Does it matter? Are any of those other races “cute” when they’re struggling speaking Chinese? Ignorant Chinese who are infatuated with white people should know that not all white people are ‘cuddly-friendly’ types who are honest and decent. The majority of white people are untrustworthy at best. You have to keep one eye ball open at night when you’re sleeping, they might steal from you or swindle you in some manner you never thought of possible…and YES, I am not just talking about your run of the mill white trash folks, I mean even the educated ones who waltz around in business attire.

    Chinese people need to be very very weary of white people in general. History tells us a story where white people wiped out a race of people in North America because they were ignorant and stupid. It also tells of adventurous white people from Europe who sailed around the world pushing people around and putting chains around their necks forcing them on ships to America as slaves. It also tells of how some crazy racist crackpot in a country called Germany decided that alotta people had to die. These people are the kings of subversive activity. You give them an inch, they will take a mile. They’re nice people to hang out with, but for some unknown reason implanted into their DNA, they are different than Asians..and usually not in a good way. I had quite a few white girlfriends and they were mostly okay to be with, 90% of them were good for sex, while one was just plain lousy. I enjoyed having sex with white women because it was good for me to experience different women while I was in my late teens, early 20′s.

    Having said all that, I have white friends that I joke around with and hang out with. But their brains are wired differently than Asian people, especially Chinese people. Which is most likely the culprit in the types of questionable activities they tend to engage in…such as MURDER.

    So please Chinese people of everywhere, especially in China, quit giving credit towards these whites just because they are white. They are no better, or worse than anyone else. However, they do tend to have a genetic defect..the kind that pushes them to kill their entire family when things don’t go their way. In America, it’s the white guys who end up mowing down their whole families with guns..yes indeed. Just about every family in the news that shows up dead are white families.

    I’ll explain. It goes like this..all white people share this thing called entitlement in America. (Although, now many other races of young people are ‘getting’ on this unfortunate bandwagon) Whites feel they are entitled to things..things that are not theirs or things that do not belong to them..or positions that may be up for grabs. Entitlement is dangerous because it feeds idiot sons to do idiot things in life. When white guys were little kids playing on the little league, their mothers and fathers were always saying they could do this, they could do that..they are number #1, they will be motherfucking president of the country someday, etc.

    These positive reinforcements are detrimental to one’s health. When little white boy Johnny finds out he’s really just another inbred loser, the guy now with family flips out and grabs his shot gun that he bought from Wal-Mart and starts blowing his entire family away into their next life.
    This is because white guys can’t take disappointment well..they cannot handle rejection at all..they are ENTITLED..remember? You turned him down on a date..you said no sex on the first date..so little retard white guy Johnny gets livid and stays quiet..waiting for you to turn your back..and just so..he strangles you to death and leaves your body in the park..runs back home to his mom’s house and hides under the sink..until the police show up..and his brain donor mother tells the police how great her little boy is..and how he would ‘never do such an awful thing’.

        I grew up with whites, I went to school with whites, I had many white girlfriends, Irish, German, French, Dutch, Czech, Russian ones. Women in general are pretty much the same everywhere you go. Some are good lays, others..not so good. Thought I’d just put that out there in case some of you were wondering.

        There is an inequality between Chinese and whites that cannot be fixed by money/wealth. These two cultures are very different. Chinese are respectful, hardworking, good people. Whites are typically lazy people who expect others to do their work for them. It’s the norm.

Hundreds of years of exploiting the resources and labour of native populations around the world will do that. Ironically, the Chinese gave gunpowder technology to the world.             Those days are long gone now which is why you see so many European countries declining rather quickly as the rest of the world quickly catches up.     I said some things that a few of you couldn’t handle. I suggest that those of you who took my post too seriously need to grow up and be a bit more mature. There is difference of attitude between Chinese and white people when learning each other’s language. When Chinese people learn English they are ridiculed and laughed at, not laughed with. Whites are thought of as ‘cute’ and ‘innocent’..and Chinese people who are not very accustomed to the evils of what these white people are capable of fail to realize they are helping the same people that would otherwise denigrate them rather than help them.

    I grew up with excellent English speaking and writing skills, all A’s if that means anything in American educational standards these days..and graduated from a top school. So personally, I never experienced the type of negative attitudes that many of my fellow Chinese have. I think it’s remarkable how Chinese students come to America, study hard and make something of themselves. As opposed to whites who are born in America, have everything going for them, yet have a higher rate of failure..and then blame Mexicans for their lack of opportunity as if somehow somewhere some Mexican laborer took some white guy’s corporate hedge fund job. Yes indeed white people, I sit around listening about how Mexicans are stealing your precious jobs and costing you that last payment on your house the bank just foreclosed on..all because of Mexicans.

    Sure..or maybe you whites are just too lazy and uppity to take that job mopping floors from 8pm to 5am? The number of you white whiners is incredible, mostly on welfare and unemployment, bad mouthing Asians and Mexicans..first the Mexican takes that job you supposedly wanted, then the Asians grab your job that they took overseas making it now impossible for you to earn a living.

    Look, whites are whiny people who excel at complaining. It’s what America is about these days..whiny whites who demand this and that..as I stated before, it’s entitlement. You don’t like what I say? Get a lawyer. You don’t like that fat hanging off your overweight white body? Get some lipo already! Because I hit a nerve with some of you whites who troll here, you got your panties in a knot. Because you somehow feel that everyone who posts here need to say something nice about you and your species.

    Whites counter that other ‘white’ groups were/are treated just as harshly as Chinese folks who can’t speak English well. I call that a joke. I have to agree with some of those posts about whites living abroad being scumbags and bottom of the barrel people..I’m not saying China in particular, but I’ve been to Russia before and my buddies there tell me those Americans who are working there are ones who got thrown out of America or couldn’t make it happen here.

    China is a country with great opportunity and an even greater cultural history. Remember that whites excel at whining, complaining, calling their lawyer, stealing money from the public (BERNARD MADOFF, ENRON, WORLDCOM, LEHMAN BROTHERS, BEAR STEARNS, etc..I could go on and on forever on this) hype jobs, and scams, murdering their wife and kids, selling their own parents down the river (100% of whites send their parents to retirement homes, where they are treated like dirt and abused mostly sexually by even more rotten white orderlies, rarely ever seeing them again..selling their parents homes and buying a Ferrari).

    The majority of what white people have to offer is ILLUSORY.

Anyway, children sending parents to nursing homes is happening more and more in china because the one child policy has lead to one child having to support 2 parents and 4 grandparents.

    I remember watching that with my girlfriend. Neither of us thought it was offensive. I joke around with Chinese in the same way, it’s not meant to be mocking, more to demonstrate how frustrating it can be to learn such difficult sounds sometimes. She does the same thing with English. It’s not making fun of English, it’s making fun of how difficult it can be.

          1) There are no “sub-men”
          2) Human “races” are not biological. They are social constructs that only roughly follow outward physical traits, having more to do with cultural identification.
          3) Following that, there’s no evidence that any particular set of racial traits traditionally used to classify human “races” would have much significance in natural selection, especially as we are coming upon a time when modern genetics will probably make natural selection less and less important in humans.
          4) For China to nuke just the United States white population, let alone all “whites” everywhere on the globe, would cause severe retribution strikes that would destroy the PRC and a huge chunk of it’s population. Very few governments would fail at pragmatism and realist logic that incredibly hard.

    On the one hand I’ve forgotten if it is natural to start with “”pure”" bland listening like this. Back in my day it was 老张 and 小王 discussing “国际俱乐部在哪儿” . At least you were given the feeling that China provided a special exclusive broom cupboard to store foreigners in.
    Also I don’t find his speech that terrible, the way I remember is you would be told to read pinyin and for months guys would go “ksi” or “ksay” for ‘xi’ , “hee” for ‘he’ etc.

    This thread clearly demonstrates how a KKK-type mentality can exist (and in fact does) everywhere in the world. You may not be white, you may be able to express yourself clearly and intelligently… but that doesn’t make you any more or less worthy of respect. I am all for criticizing White America, just as I am all for criticizing any cultural grouping – but this has to be done thoughtfully and with a great deal of self criticism; otherwise you just end up praising yourself while being blind to your own weaknesses.

    I’ll make a serious comment for once. If that’s what a berlitz language tape sounds like, I’m sure as shit glad I never bought into it. Terrible or non existent explanations of how to distinguish between the x and sh, complete lack of explanation on the tones or strategies for coping with them, and using a tongue twister in the first lesson? What a trainwreck. 

    Chinese as a language is really not that hard, or at least not as difficult as so many would have you believe. It’s all about developing good habits from the start, learning to say a word with the correct tones the first time, and then once you have the foundation, slowly building your grammatical and vocabulary base. Luckily Chinese grammar is some of the easiest in the world. That’s why I strongly maintain that the best approach is to tackle the individual particles and tones and master them to the point where you’re indistinguishable from a native speaker before moving on. It may be tiresome, but will pay off when people consistently tell you that you sound like a 北京儿.
