As a westerner, in 3 years i have only uncounted the police 3 times, once for a photo (i was santa at the time), once i was taken away as i was having an argument with a pub owner (very sorry about that, drank for way too long) and the last time i couldnt understand what the police man wanted so he just shouted at me, apparently if a westerner doesnt understand chinese, the policeman should speak louder,,, that will make him understand... to this day i have no idea what the cop wanted (well it wasnt a cop, it was the qin zhe, like traffic police i think). i was a bit stupid, it stated off him saying something and i saying 'i dont understand chinese' when he started shouting at me, when ever he took a break i would shout back "I DONT UNDERSTAND" and smile about the the situation and of what was transpiring. it didnt go down to well, but after a few minutes of him shouting something at me and me shouting back that i dont understand, he left in a huff and a puff. have you ever been to china?? if you dont shout and push you get no where. i have been stood in front of an assistant in a supermarket who weight and price up your items, i was stood for around 5 minutes as as soon as she was finished with one person someone would drop a load of stuff on the scale and expect it to be priced first.
