Athena Statue at University Has Chinese School Official’s Face

Northwest University statue has the body of Athena and the face of a school leader

Nuwa and Athena are Chinese myth and Greek myth figures respectively. Recently, netizens discovered that inside the Modern College of Northwest University are two statues erected of Nuwa and Athena, but the faces of the statues had been altered by the creator to be those of two female school board members/directors. Yesterday, after “School directors become Nuwa and Athena” photographs were posted to the internet [above, click to enlarge], netizens called it “stunning/stupefying“. Faced with netizens’ questioning, the school admitted to having indeed made a bad decision when the sculptures were made.
