“Family Possessions”: Living environments of ordinary Chinese families
The “Family Possessions” photography project was jointly produced by Huang Qingjun and Ma Hongjie. From 2005, they started shooting some families and the household items they use daily. In the course of their work, they countered many difficulties and challenges, as every family needed them to repeatedly explain the purpose of their photography, to establish a foundation of trust, before the photographers themselves would then arrange the objects to be photographed. These photos have have appeared as early as May 2010, for example on Xinhua. Another Xinhua report three months later and a year ago says Huang Qingjun and Ma Hongjie plan to publish 50 photographs and a related photo book by the end of 2011.
