网易江苏省南京市网友: (responding to above)

SB, it’s an Infiniti that has been electroplated [with gold].

网易江苏省连云港市网友 [月君]:

Once again we see a bunch of people there gawking. Then we see expressions of envy or contempt.

网易广西北海市网友 [半兽人vv]:

It’s so nice to have something to show off.

网易浙江省温州市网友 [科狗太监死绝]:

The traffic officer who towed away this car may soon find himself suspended and under investigation.

网易广东省深圳市网友 [WalkER]:

The rich waste wine and meat while the poor freeze and starve outside [the rich waste while the poor suffer]. That girl’s expression as she’s getting out of the car looks somewhat odd~

网易浙江省杭州市网友 [目前在线]:

I think it is a publicity stunt orchestrated by the business.

网易河南省平顶山市网友 [Bye]:

[The traffic police is just] Keeping it safe for awhile for the young master.

网易广东省中山市网友:

I’m the traffic police, why am I afraid of? You have money but don’t stuff it in my pockets? Tow it away.

What do you think? Good taste? Bad taste?

Good for you, seems like you and the owner could be good friends…

    • Lin

You Jackson? You look like a Jackson

      • Jay

500,000+ Rmb for the car and paint job, but too dumb to pay the 10,000 for the license plate and fees?

  • Rick in China

This has been happening for years, mostly in Dubai.

    http://thewondrous.com/14-extraoridnary-gold-plated-cars/ (from yrs ago)

Everything from Camrys to Bentleys been gold plated. Gold gold is horribly ugly – but white gold actually looks extremely cool in many cases.

The cost for gold plating isn’t prohibitively expensive, if you’re able to afford a nice car already. It’s just gaudy and over-the-top flashy. *yawn*.

    • B-real

Go to Brunei the king and his kids get all Gold plated anything they want. They have gold plated flooring in some of their Gov buildings.

      • john digmeme

Used to live in Brunei (Berakas), saw a platinum plated Airbus (on the bottom only so it’s shiny when you look up at it). Saw Sultan on his way to his second wife’s palace (at Jerudong Park) in a platinum plated SL500 one time with four police motorbike escorts trying to keep up.

    • Bob

Anyone with a pickup truck can steal that gold plated SMART car.

Gold is really tacky… In the US in the late 80s and early 90s rappers used to put gold plating and gold accessories all over their cars.

      • Rick in China

Pickup truck? more like a couple friends :D I heard it’s a crazy in Amsterdam to toss smart cars into the canals.

  • Jax

I’d try to get one of those car too if i had a small penis.

*DING* We have a winner! hahahahahahahah

      • dilladonuts

        GLAC, look it up.

      • dilladonuts

Judging from your inferiority/superiority complexes, you show strong signs of being a middle class citizen, jealousy is a bitch ain’t it?

        Blah blah blah blah blah.

    • dilladonuts

Wrong, you would get one if you were not lower middle class. =) If you think anything of obnoxious luxury is equated to penis size, you my friend, need to get a better job.

      • Ronon

You mean that washing car windows with a newspaper, isn’t a good job?!?

        • TomTuttleFromTacoma

Not without a squeegee, then it’s a good job.

      • Marsvin

That’s true to a point but this case has nothing to do with style or class, this has to do with ego. No one in their right mind thinks gold plating like this looks good. What a waste of a beautiful car. :)

    • FYIADragoon

Sounds like you might be on to something here.

American gangsters have moved to China?

That car is clearly driven by a drug dealer.

    • http://encyclopediadramatica.com/China Elijah II

Excuse me!!! But that’s offensive you know?!?

The correct term is Chingstas…. look it up.

I have this local friend of mine here in Hong Kong who absolutely loves “gangsta” rap even that God-awful Canto and Mando-pop rap stuff. I was having a drink with him and mentioned that term Wanksta and Wigger, thought it was funny as hell, then I mentioned Chingsta and now everytime we here any rap at all he says “Chingsta in da house!”. Cracks me up every time.

      • http://mysticalmagicpages.blogspot.com/ Tommy

I want to move to Hong Kong…

  • Raja

I wonder if his father is Li Gang…

  • blackflagnation

so, is this a publicity stunt promoting Infiniti? Why would someone knowingly park their car illegally to have it towed?

    • Bob

Some people, especially new rich, think they’re above the law.

This guy just didn’t bribe the local officials enough.

  • Alex

Thats not gold… It’s just yellow chrome wrap, like a huge sticker over the car.

    • B-real

I second that. But the interior is superb.

  • Irvin

It looks good, unique and stands out. Although I personally prefer pearlescent mix of red and blue, gives a unique purpleish hue with hints of red and blue depending on the lighting and angle.

However most smart people will get a white car regardless of looks, it’s the safest and most practical. Reflects sun light to keep the car cool and easier to see during the night to avoid accidents.

  • Jones

I bet the driver called up a gold-plated Volkswagen Santana cab.

  • Alikese

The saying: “money doesn’t buy class” comes in to mind here.

And if you are going to paint your car to try to seem like a millionaire you can’t do it in an Infiniti. That’s a rule.

  • 王老吉

For a person to paint his car golden like this, he or she must just love getting FACE. It’s like “Look how rich and shiny I am, with my super-sport-and-super-expensive car”. So typical! I say congratulations to the Police for taking a car like this out of the streets and making the owner loose all the face possible.

    • anon

You’ve just indicted every person who has every tried to attract attention with their possessions as being obsessed with “FACE”. After so many people on this site fought tooth and nail to declare “FACE” a uniquely Chinese or Asian concept. Good job.

      • Rick in China

The sociological concept is of course NOT unique to China, but the word used to describe the concept originates here. Of course everyone everywhere wants to look good / have a good reputation in front of their friends, or even strangers..that’s where people derive a lot of their self confidence and self worth. To say “face” is uniquely Chinese, as a concept, is ridiculous.

        • Suicidal tendency

There are a lot of differences:
While this guy believes his car saves him some face, I would be ashamed to be see in…

  • john digmeme

I love the smug look on the cop’s face. Classic.

  • Pvt. Joker

You know it’s begging to be keyed.

  • darkandlovelykissedbythe

I would be more impressed if the car wasn’t gold plated, but like this one.

  • David B

Gold plating a G37? That’s an overpriced piece of shit to begin with, hardly worthy of the name sports car. Besides, it looks really tacky and….o, now I get it.

  • DRaY

I miss my INFINITI.. I want to new one, but in SILVER METALLIC !!! FRICKIN SWEET!!! the Gold is bit too much!!!

  • Bo Wang

I can’t tell for certain from the photos above, but did the driver park the car in the middle of the road?

    If so, what an ass.

  • -=Shan=-

    its vinyl…

It’s obviously a publicity stunt. And a lot of people fall for it.
