Not a single corrupt official amongst the condemned, even though there are corrupt officials everywhere and just 200,000 RMB [embezzled] qualifies for the death penalty.

网易浙江省金华市网友:

All members of society’s lowest level, and that’s why the trial is public. Even those on their deathbed must be humiliated by these bullshit officials. How come there isn’t a single corrupt official? It’s these bullshit officials who are the criminals that seriously endanger public security.

网易湖南省益阳市网友:

How come there aren’t any corrupt officials???????????????????

776525038 [网易河北省唐山市网友]:

A corrupt official who embezzles 100 million gets a suspended death sentence, then spends money on connections, then gets medical parole, then the matter becomes unresolved/unknown, and ultimately he lives a happy and free life.

Upon seeing that banner, “Safeguarding the people’s lives and property in accordance with the law”, I laughed.

Thinking the same thing as everyone else: with there being corrupt officials everywhere, how come there isn’t a single one [amongst those here]???

50+ year old Liu isn’t rich, but he had saved up some money, preparing to open a small shop in Changsha, to live out the rest of his days. After many inquiries, he finally found a small shop for sale by the owner, and with only some thought, and with everything seeming to be normal, he bought it.
But not long after the purchase came the tax bureau saying he owed several years’ worth of taxes, demanding that he pay the entire sum at once in one payment, or else they would shut him down.
“But why? I just bought this shop and haven’t even been in business for very long! How could I already owe several years’ worth of taxes?”
The tax bureau says, “this shop already owed several years of taxes that have remained unpaid, and since you purchased it, you now are liable for it, otherwise we shut you down.”
“But if the previous owner really didn’t pay several years’ worth of taxes, how come you didn’t go shut him down? What were you guys doing before? Moreover, it isn’t that I won’t pay my taxes. From the moment I started my business to now, I won’t short you a single penny in any taxes I owe!”
Though saying this was a little but irrational, it was also quite right!
“According to common sense, whoever owes you money is of course whoever you should go find!”
But the tax bureau doesn’t care so much, and quickly shut down his business.
The ever-honest Liu panicked, “what to do, this is a shop purchased with my own blood and sweat money!!!”
Without a choice, he went to the tax bureau to try to reason and persuade.
But, you can imagine what happened…
Later, beside himself with rage, Liu said, “If you keep forcing me like this, I’ll blow up your tax bureau! I have nothing left to lose anyway!”
Thinking they would take him seriously after saying this, he instead got laughter…
2010 July 30th, on the day that the tax bureau holds a their Friday meetings Liu entered the tax bureau with a package and detonated the anger in his heart…
August 1st or 2nd, a friend went to the tax bureau to report his taxes and buy receipts. Unexpectedly, he discovered two extra welcome staff at the door, much more staff at work, and their customer service was abnormally good. He didn’t understand why. It was only later after he learned about the 7.30 bombing incident that it all suddenly made sense.

15 liver donations, coming right up!

    • Jay

What I have read from a Chinese doctor who left China, is that in the 90′s when he was working – they shot those that had been blood typed and matched for a donor in the RIGHT side of the chest, leaving the heart intact, so as to not cause clotting in the blood vessels that might damage the kidneys or liver.

Meaning that the kidneys were then cut out of a heavily damaged, and soon to die, but still living body.

  • pervertt

Death to all criminals and those who violate social harmony.

Well, at least those without party connections or money to bribe their way out of trouble.

    • mr. weiner

      Agreed.
But to be fair I should point out that the majority of folks cooling their heals on death row in America suffer a similar lack of connections.

You know, I always wondered what goes through the mind of a person just about to be executed. Guilt? Remorse? Perhaps joy? And I know I shouldn’t feel sorry for those condemned to die. It’s a tough world out there for everyone; they made a bad choice and now have to pay with their lives. But seeing their faces…….somehow I feel really bad.

The above Chinese netizen’s commentary on Liu Zhuiheng was particularly poignant, because stories like this happen all over China.

    • mr. weiner

      true dat.

what goes through the mind of a person just about to be executed?

      their brains!

        Sirrah,
I believe you mean “a bullet”.

A brain is a mind, it’s just that “brains” are are more biological term while “mind” is more psychological. So. A brain can’t go through itself. These aren’t those cats that turn themselves inside out to go the other direction.

This is like hearing a “knock knock!” joke start with “Who’s there?”

Does anyone know the method of execution? Fine if you answer with a speculation, but I sure hope we can hear from someone who knows what they are talking about and can educate us.

Yeah, I know it is perverse, morbid curiosity to wonder such a thing.

    • mr. weiner

I’d speculate it’s still a bullet to the back of the head and the bill for the bullet sent to the family.
Haven’t heard of any new forms of execution lately.

      • Gay Azn Boi

Uhmm……I think that practice has been discontinued a while ago.

    • Gay Azn Boi

Though execution by firing squad still exists, it has largely been superseded by lethal injection. There are now even “mobile execution vans” believe it or not.

      • mr. weiner

        ain’t technology wonderful?

        • Gay Azn Boi

          Indeed.

        • mr. weiner

further speculation [sorry] Would lethal injection be more advantageous for the purpose of organ harvesting?

          • Gay Azn Boi

            That’s pure propaganda.

          • dim mak

It’s not propaganda, the CCP openly admits most of the country’s donor organs comes from prisons, complete with statistics and all. I see nothing wrong with it. The part about LIVE organ harvesting that Falun Gong people keep repeating, is propaganda.

          • marsvin

Hell if you’re gonna kill people taking their organs after they die seems like a pretty harmless thing to do.

Weird how a lot of people have no problem with poisoning prisoners to death but then taking the organs is somehow distasteful.

          • Boris

I have a friend in Shandong who was a medical student three years back. The bodies she worked with were usually those of young men, aged around thirty. Some had been shot in the head, some had been injected, and some -curiously -had been shot in the heart (beats me).
For Marsvin, capitalsing on my innards after whacking me one in the head is just sheer insolence. Not that any sane person would want to use my liver or kidneys, but even so…
If anyone here has been to, I think his name is Gunther Von Hagen Daz -anyway, that f**ker’s exhibition ‘Bodyworlds’, then they’ve come up-close to some of China’s capitally punished. Personally, irrespective of whatever they’ve done, I have problems with someone being offed, cut in half, and displayed in a cabinet so some quirky German can make a name for himself.

          • Horsecube

The reason why it is unethical to harvest organs of executed prisoners is that it provides an incentive to the powerful for killing people to save other people (or in worst case, to make money).

Horribly sad story even without the aspect of organ harvesting anyways.

          • donscarletti

Well, lethal injection involves pumping the body, including all of its organs full of a cocktail of sodium thiopental, pancuronium bromide and potassium chloride, the second two in doses many times higher than what is required to kill someone on their own. So, I would say: no.

Now, if you’re looking to run a chop shop, what you would do is administer the a similar dose of sodium thiopental and a much lower and more calculated dose of pancuronium bromide. You would then start a respirator and make some small lesions to the base of the brain to cause brain death. The body would be handled to the surgical team cut out what they want and thy could the respirator off when they’re done.

why have to treat them like that, if already sentenced their death why not kill them directly, insult them in public?
when i was in middle school, they caught two young girls who blackmailed students outside the school.

eattot, at the very least, we always know what you are thinking.

So, were the two blackmailing girls pretty or not? You didn’t say. It doesn’t have to do with these 15 executed convicts, but you can’t just start a conversation about hotness and then leave it at that.

Just like a condemned man: you can’t just leave us hanging.

      • hanyucha

her point is perfectly valid. the only reason the changsha sentencing was full was that the professionals all wanted to get a good look at what was going on.

she compares this to children wanting to know whether the girls in her school were pretty or not.

        • http://candosino.wordpress.com terroir

A free press is so much more useful in controlling public opinion. As you can see, people seem more likely to believe anonymous posts on the internet than they do any official news group with a reputation to lose.

No trust of news equals no trust from the citizens. The Party is getting better at having a deft touch, but they are still so much the clumsy bumpkin. All that is needed for a free press is careful guidance, not bullies and black communiques. Remember, all government is is deciding how to spend everyone else’s money + PR. The Party is an absolute disgrace on the PR side.

yes yes! I’m sorry I told you the other day that you shouldn’t be porn (born I mean). I mean it more philosophically as in I also shouldn’t have have been born. I’m sorry.

While it’s true there is an element of “strongest rule” to reality, the truth is as long as society is running pretty well, no one gives a shit. Basically the “democracy” is the city state of the philosopher kings, with the elites running things. Are they fucked up. Yes. But no one gives a shit because people aren’t dying, they can go about their “duties” and all is well. So “Democracy” does work because society is not going to hell all around you yet. China is doing something similar. There is major corruption, freedom issues, etc. But people aren’t starving on the street so no one really gives a shit. (Also people in the west like to think they are in control but in reality the elites are the ones in control.)

What is next? It’s possible the various city states will merge. It’s also possible this system will become unstable….as in everything will start over. On a global scale it is Rule of Might of various city states. I don’t mean I”m going to kill you more my chess game is better than yours type of thing.

Who cares, the death penalty in China is fine as it is. Corrupt officials do get executed and all the time, too bad they don’t get reported as much. Organ harvesting on criminals is also fine, especially considering that they are dead and won’t feel anything. China is society that is still governed by old traditions and beliefs. I would never use explosives or try to kill someone for injustice. You can go to the Police, and refuse to move, and stop eating. Make them beat you, and kill you before you strike them. They can not do the terrible crimes to the people, and then blame the people. If you die, it is not death. You reach a higher justice, from the corrupt officials. People in high places who hand out death sentences, are only signing their eventual death sentences, because God and Budda does not accept eye for an eye, nor Violence to the body of brothers and sisters.
