Chengdu police microblog posts photos of single policemen photos looking for girlfriends

Yesterday, single policeman “天冰ICE” from Chengdu’s Wuhou district police became a hit with Sina Weibo netizens, his handsome looks and mysterious identity attracting countless female fans. This was the third single police officer that the Wuhou district police official microblog promoted under their “help single police officers program”, with this program becoming popular within just 1 short week. Various good looking men and cute posters helped it quickly become a hot topic on the internet. However, at the same time, there were also netizens who felt that a police microblog should not post such non-serious content. In response, the police bureau’s political deputy director Shi Yi expressed during an interview with a journalist from Chongqing’s Economic Times newspaper that they’re only hoping to use this kind of platform to help some of their bureau’s single police officers “shed their single status”.

From NetEase & QQ:

Chengdu police seek help for single police officers on Weibo

@Safe Wuhou“, the official microblog of the Chengdu Wuhou district police, recently put up 5 single male police officer posters, appealing to people to help single police officers. This attracted many female fans and followers for the 5 single police officers. Images is of the “help single police officers” posters.

However, there are also a minority of netizens who questioned, is it good to be posting this kind of non-serious information on the official microblog? Could this be a publicity stunt? In response to some netizens’ questions, on the afternoon of the 6th, one of the people responsible for the “Safe Wuhou” microblog account and deputy director of the Wuhou Public Security Bureau Political Department, Shi Yi, issued denials, and expressed to journalists that the exercise is only promoting 5 police officers and that these 5 police officers had all volunteered.

During registration, they also performed “background checks”, confirming that they were single before promoting them. This program has already been in discussions for a long time. Because police officer’s working hours are irregular, have little time off, they don’t even have the opportunity to meet girls, and that’s why they hoped to promote this “help [single police officers] program”.

The Help Single Police Officers program also attracted the attention of police wives. Combining their personal experience, and while wishing the single police officers the best in finding partners soon, they also provided reminders and warnings to female fans.

One microbloggers commented: One should be prepared for several things before marrying a police officer: 1. You may not be able to eat meals together. 2. There may often be orders that will disturb you at night. 3. He may not be at your side when giving birth, much less during pregnancy. 4. He may not have time to go to the park or help tutor your child during holidays and breaks. 5. He can’t help you do housework.

What kind of society is this that there is even this kind of thing, I can’t believe it!

腾讯北京市网友 自由的精魂:

So-called dignity is to attach importance to something, because only by attaching importance to something can one see need. I don’t think there is anything wrong with this. In this era of peace, being a police officer is also considered a high risk profession. The special circumstances of the profession cause some people to not want to marry police officers or not let their daughters marry police officers. It’s just like what that netizen said:One should be prepared for several things before marrying a police officer: 1. You may not be able to eat meals together. 2. There may often be orders that will disturb you at night. 3. He may not be at your side when giving birth, much less during pregnancy. 4. He may not have time to go to the park or help tutor your child during holidays and breaks. 5. He can’t help you do housework. So most wives of police officers are strong women. I think what the Public Security Bureau is doing is right. It’s caring for its own workers, and it is also dealing with something that needs to be dealt with seriously. After all, police officers are people too!

腾讯厦门市网友 企划部-郑:

This handsome and they still need to advertise for partners? It’s probably because their standards are too high!

腾讯广州市网友 荷叶小露:

Only 24-25 years old and already appealing for help. For a 30-something person like me, who’s going to appeal for help for me?

腾讯手机腾讯网网友 学会平常心:

Police officer is a profession very deserving of respect, handsome, manly! I like this kind of man, but too bad I’m already married, ha!

腾讯巴中市网友 寒 钟:

Laughable. These days what civil servants want are mistresses.

腾讯手机腾讯网网友 沙漠之舟:

Police are also ordinary people, not saints: Although this is something of a publicity stunt, its also a good way to bring police and the public together! I want to congratulate in advance five women who understand safeguarding public order in becoming their partners!

腾讯手机腾讯网网友 微微笑:

Everyone has the right to pursue happiness, and using Weibo to seek a partner is very creative! May you all will find happiness. Girls, what you should love is not their police uniforms, but the person under the uniforms.

I’m saddened to see this kind of report. May I ask who will come save our migrant workers, society’s lowest level? I’m 27 years old already this year and still unmarried. I’m speechless.

To root of solving the problem of police being “single” is to normalize the life of being a police officer. The root of normalizing the life of a police officer lies in society being peaceful and harmonious. To make society peaceful and harmonious lies in returning fairness and morality to society!

You all go take care of the male police officers, leave the female police officers to me! Its okay if I work harder!~

  • lonetrey

Ehh. Feels a little lame, seeing as how they’re men in uniform. The stereotype is that they should have no problem getting women, but I feel like that’s a mistake in my way of thinking.

Perhaps this is a good direction to go in, to start seeing people of authority as normal human beings rather than “the popo”.

      • anon

If we’re going to generalize, half are corrupted and half are just lazy bastards.

To be fair, there actually are some decent cops in China (just like everywhere else) who still live and operate according to certain ideals and principles. We just prefer not to think of them as such.

  • E Puff

Looks like movie posters with movie stars on them. American magazines and newspapers do this all the time. What’S the big deal?

  • E Puff

all of them are handsome, especially #3 – well they are all very good looking men.

I think maybe police officers have a hard time finding women because no one wants to date a dude who could potentially arrest them lol or is serious all the time.

i have my own personal reasons. I dated a police officer when i was 18 years old. one day, in an argument (not technically an argument since I was giving him the silent treatment) he punched me out of the blue. When I woke and found him towering over me reaching down, in a rage I lashed out like a cat and scratched him down his face, ripping the skin from his forehead down to his chin – which became permanent scars.

when i awoke again, i had lumps on my head and two big bruises on my back, in the shape of his boot – a perfect print of a shoe print with the grooves in it and everything is how hard he stomped on me when i was unconscious.

he won that fight (not technically a fight since I never squared up to begin with and would not have won if i tried) but he will forever bear the mark of hitting a woman. he begged forgiveness but i left him, moving out of our apartment while he was out of the house being consoled by his friends. when i saw him again some years later, he still had faded out scars from my scratch going down his face. serves him right, he was handsome no more.

Police men deal with violence everyday, i personally think they are all crazy.

    • Harland

Dehumanizing people is horrible. We’re all humans. That’s how Hitler got so many people to go along with him, by telling them The Other was less than human. Saying police officers are nonhuman just because of their job is just as bad as Hitler.

    • Boris

You scarred him permanenly from his forehead to his chin using only your nails? What the fuck are you… a polar bear?

I liked the part where the boyfriend/policeman was brave enough to take a stand on the relationship.

Homoerotic subtext is sometimes not as subtle as you think.

    • DRaY

      @puff
Before I condemn a man for hitting a woman, I always like to ask the magic question, What the fuck did you say to him to get knocked the fuck out???? Not that it makes it right that he did that to you, but what did you say to provoke that kind of beat down?….. just curious.

      • epuff

He showed up to our apartment at 2am on valentines after drinking and smoking with his friends at some bar. He knew he was wrong so when he walked in, I gave him the silent treatment. He begged me to speak, but I wouldnt look at him, just pretended he wasn’t there. After begging for twenty or so minutes only to be ignored is when it happened. I believe the reason he did it was a combination of guilt and frustration.

The situation really ticked me off because my ex-boyfriend also invited me out (not knowing that I was with someone else). I could have easily went out with someone with my ex but I stayed true only to have my ex show up at 2 in the morning ruining our plans.

(@Boris) — he had some kind of skin ailment that causes minor scratches to turn into keloids. So he could not get ear piercings or anything like that. Something I was not aware of until after the incident. would have been minor wounds that would have healed without scars on a normal person, but it became a keloid in the shape of the scratch I gave him.

If you don’t know what a keloid is, here’s the definition:

        ke·loid/ˈkēˌloid/

        Noun:
        —————————

OK, done answering. I said I wasn’t going to post here anymore but didn’t want to leave you hanging especially after sharing that story about why I would never date an officer again.

How you say unphotogenic in Chinee? As in “most Chinee men are quite unphotogenic……”

    • jiayi

Can you suggest a more photogenic and symmetrical nationality to photograph?

    • donscarletti

不上相 (hanyu pinyin: bu shang xiang)

Chinese women are the same, even really beautiful ones take maybe 20 shots to make them look nice, average ones take so many more. Western women, you click the button twice and throw away the bad one.

I’m not sure what it is, probably something to do with perspective distortion and the cheekbones. A longer focal length tends to lead to a better photograph with Asian faces.

      • anon

Sorry, but that’s bullshit. There are TONS of Western women who are incredibly NOT photogenic. But hey, beauty is all subjective, right?

      • Joe

It probably has more to do with the fact that you’re white, and prefer white people and how they look. Only natural.

    • http://candosino.wordpress.com terroir

Chinese men don’t have to photogenic whatsoever. All they need to do is provide a house for their wife, and a trust fund for their baby.

“Work until you die” isn’t something you need a mirror and fall and spring wardrobes to complete.

When is iPhone going to come up with the “time machine/turn back clock 20 years” app?

    • Nikolodian

I’d take a slice of #3 as well. Although #1 looks pretty good too posing with that gun.

Seriously though after dating someone in the army I’d never get involved with a police officer or someone in the military-they aren’t around enough and I’m too selfish and would want them around in that uniform 24/7 ;)
