Fujian Qing Dynasty official’s tomb robbed, body discarded

March 17th, Fujian province Ningde city, local residents while hiking discovered an ancient body wearing dynastic clothing embroidered with what appears to be dragons and called the police. Investigations revealed that it was related to the grave robbing of a government official who had served the Qing Emperor Guangxu (1882 AD) in his 8th year, and the body had been casually cast aside by the grave robber. According to reports, this is the highest ranking and most well preserved mummified body of a Qing era government official discovered locally.

In the tomb there are still several coffins. Ningde local residents say the body next to the robbed tomb is male, very clearly wearing many layers of clothing, and with his hair still braided into a queue. A Mr. Yan said the odor around the mummified body was unbearable, the body having already emitting a foul smell.

The mummy pulled out of the ancient tomb. According to reports, only half of the front of the official robes remain so the decorative design cannot be seen, but on the back of the official robes are 3 dragons embroidered with gold colored thread. On the whole, the clothing is relatively well preserved, with the innermost layer being yellow cotton underwear, the outside navy blue cotton clothes, and the outermost layer being silk official robes.

Yesterday I was watching CCTV 13 news and the anchor broadcasted a piece of news: American citizens are miserable amidst high gasoline prices, the report saying high gasoline prices have severely affected the lives of Americans, which has become an obstacle for Obama’s hopes of a second presidency. In the end, the anchorwoman announced that the price of gasoline is 3.8 USD per gallon. This report made me foggy with confusion, thinking this anchor is too stupid, why not just convert it into how much RMB per liter, because how many of us ordinary common people know gallons. With this in mind, I went online today to check and want to share with netizens the result of my conversion. One American gallon = 3.785411784 liters. Yesterday’s USD to RMB exchange rate was 1 USD to 6.3355 RMB. One gallon of gasoline at 3.8 USD converted into RMB per liter is 6.3606 yuan RMB. Right now I trust netizens all are very clear on what the price of 93 octane gasoline in China is, the lowest at least 8.07 yuan RMB per liter, and various media these past few days have again been making noise about how gasoline prices are once again being increased. I don’t know who should be ashamed from this piece of news.

Of course it is the Americans who should be ashamed, and the reason you already know, because Obama has shame, whereas we’re shameless.

Female civil servants required to test for sexually transmitted diseases and report monthly menstruation before being hired
Why were the comments for this closed?!
Actually, doing this is in consideration for the leadership, as the leadership are afraid of being infected.

网易广东省惠州市网友: (responding to above)

Same question!

网易亚太地区网友: (also responding to 潘马户邓小闲)

Exactly, if the leaders contract sexually transmitted diseases, then even more female subordinates will be infected, and then everything will get out of control…

近视700度 [网易河南省漯河市网友]: (responding to above)

It’s obvious, female civil servants are prepared for the leaders, so they have to be without disease, because the LD are afraid of being infected with sexually transmitted diseases, because the LD have to be pampered.

Looks like the clothes of living people, a withered body, hundred year old tomb. No one at any time should ever dig up another person’s tomb. The grave robber committed a sin, and must suffer retribution.

I was just wondering about that. Is there any reason in particular that they would obscure his face?

In case he is recognized. He is probably due to appear in court as a witness over the whole thing. Wouldn’t want him to be tampered with, moreso I mean.

  • Brett Hunan

Of course they want the female civil servants to get tested.

Basically they are making it known publicly that if you are a woman and want to be a civil servant, you are going to have to fuck the fat old pieces of shit in order to advance your career. Might as well as quote me and post it all in the job description.

Also, gasoline is still not expensive enough. Fuck anyone who says otherwise. There’s no reason milk and juices should cost more per liter or gallon than gasoline. I hate when my friends back in USA complain about gas prices. Most don’t even need to drive. There’s usable public transportation to their offices.

In Seoul its 2,000won per liter (about $7/gallon): Doesn’t stop a soul from driving.

If America taxed the shit out of the stuff it could fund more wars. Fuck, cigarettes and alcohol are also too cheap. People will still buy all of it whether cheap or expensive so might as well take advantage.

    • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

It’s actually insanely coincidental, but I’ve made 3 new friends via QQ, all of them lovely females between 23 and 28 and all from china.

They’re funny, intelligent, hard-working, goal-oriented and have been raped by co-workers/classmates… None of them have gone to the police on their families advice and continued to have contact with the rapists for over 6 months before the rapists moved away.

I asked them why they didn’t call the police and do something about it and they all uniformly told me that it was almost to be expected and if they caused a scene, they would be the one to face punishment (being fired, kicked out of university, etc.).

So yeah, I absolutely 100% can believe that this is for the government officials benefit and no one else. After all you don’t want to rape a girl and be forced to face the consequences of your actions cause herpes is forever.

The body appears to be well preserved which is amazing considering the high humidity environment of southern China. Also the yellow clothes he wears is interesting. It is my impression that the yellow color is reserved for the royal family.

    • mr. weiner

I think only the underclothing was yellow, which means he had secret delusions of grandeur or a bladder control problem.

Interesting. My wife is from Xia Pu County, next time I visit there I am going to go tomb hunting.

  • typingfromwork

Good thing the tomb robbers left the real treasure behind- that is one well preserved mummy. It’s discusting though what they’re doing to their own culture just for a quick yuan.

The comments are weird though- what has this got to do with gas prices in America? Maybe that guy needs some context- people all over the world have different prices for petrol. They think theirs is the most expensive, but here in Britain we’re paying £1.40 a litre- which is about 13 yuan. We moan about it but life goes on. In Venezuela gas is like $0.02 a litre- if it’s such an important thing then just emigrate there, if you can stand the benevolent all encompasing love of dear leader uncle Chavez, that is.

    • lonetrey

Yeah… I was totally confused by the comments about STD testing and gasoline prices. I mean, wtf lol.

    • jon

Their income is alot lower though.

      • typingfromwork

True, but gas prices around the world have always inflated due to tightening supply and increasing demand. People tend to adjust their lives accordingly- take more public transport, buy more efficient cars, etc.

The massive inflation in commodities in China though is more of a concern, espeically food. If the government don’t reign that in then there will be some pretty pissed off citizens and it will have a lot more consequences than what hiking oil prices would do.

  • http://www.makeyourownpheromones.com michael

    that looks pretty cool man

  • dogbert

How can a 150 year old mummy smell bad? There is no way bacteria are still working on the meat and guts, so I think the report is faulty.

Also, I wonder what kind of million dollar artworks were stolen. That stuff brings big money these days.

Stupid grave robbers should have put the mummy, dirt and stones back to make the robbery less obvious and sensational.

On second thought, I would buy that mummy. There must be mummy collectors somewhere. That should be a valuable find.

  • andywattbulb

lol loved how they blurred out the last face.

  • Ray

Probably just a “counterfeit” mummy, if you rob a tomb the mummy will also be worth a large sum on the black market, theres no way the robbers will leave it behind.

  • bscalled

Again, the shameless Chinese willing to desecrate a his own historical treasure for his own gain of money.

  • Foreign Devil

There’s no way something that ancient would have a strong odor as if it is still freshly decaying.

It’s amazing to see an actual forest. . it must be on a mountain side. No flat land in China has forest cover anymore.

This is something unique to places like China with so much ancient civilization. In Canada you can dig in forests all your life and all you will find is the occasional clay pipe or arrow head from the first nations people. I remember in Chengdu area they found all these remains of a civilization nearly as ancient as Egyptian civilazation. . they had all of these very alien looking sculptures. . and also large pits full of Mammoth elephant tusks. . which nobody is sure whether they acquired them locally or through long distance trading.
