Hong Kongers Sing “Locust World” Harassing Mainland Tourists

Hong Kongers harassing mainland tourists on the streets of Hong Kong, singing "Locust World".

On Sina Weibo:

@刘超-怒放: Right now in Hong Kong, people are singing “Locust World” when encountering mainlanders on the street, especially against those tourists who are buying luxury bags and cosmetics, and has already become harassment. Recommend everyone avoid going to Hong Kong for shopping these few months. Just 3 months, and they will definitely beg the “locusts” to return. Let these people who are trying to ruin [the relationship between China and Hong Kong] know the importance of “locusts”. Please forward.

The song, “Locusts World”:

The song is based on Eason Chan‘s “Under Mt. Fuji” and the most viewed copy on YouTube (without English subtitles) has over 777k views since it was uploaded in February 2011. Below is an edited version uploaded 2 weeks ago featuring various video clips and images of locusts juxtaposed with mainlanders doing or saying things that annoy Hong Kongers:

This video currently has over 210k views on YouTube.

Comments on Sina Weibo:

GGLong:

Don’t go to Hong Kong anymore… go back home… Don’t know whether Hong Kong people have thought about their future???

阿强-qfu:

Those people singing this kind of song are simply a bunch of people who think too highly of themselves, their thinking truly having not grown up!!!

paradiso:

Everything they drink, eat, and use is produced and subsidized by the mainland. As our taxes are being used to give them better treatment and consumption to give them employment, they treat us as below them.

巧成书L::

Do you know how much Hong Kong people donated during the Wenchuan earthquake? Do you know how many Chinese mainland impoverished mountain areas receive donations from Hong Kongers and Hong Kong companies? Do you know how many mainland companies go public on the Hong Kong stock exchange?

giggs1990: (responding to above)

So them donating larges sums of money means they can insulted your dignity? Laughable.

非韩印象美甲:

Sigh! What age is it and there are still people who are doing such stupid things!

EricaLAU_欣:

But the phenomena described by the lyrics are real, are they not? Mainlanders should reflect upon themselves for a moment. Of course those Hong Kongers surrounding mainlanders singing are also wrong. Both sides have their faults.

小艾艾LUIS220:

TMD “Locusts World”, I want to write a “Parasite Song”! Mainlanders ding this!!!

ssecook:

When I heard Shina, I became angry. These aren’t our compatriots, they are Japanese dogs.

RamaRani:

Our habits have their bad areas, but that doesn’t mean we should be insulted. If Hong Kong fashions itself as a civilized city, how come it doesn’t have some tolerance/patience? If civilization is built on the foundation of insulting others then we can only say that is hypocritical.

馒美丽:

I suggest that everyone should jump at the chance to go to Hong Kong for vacation, visit family, work, business trips, meetings, shopping, anything. That is our China’s territory anyway, who says we can’t go just because they don’t let us? That’s laughable. Since they’re talking like that, we should just continue to take their milk powder and their hospital beds. We have power in numbers. We should get our hands on all the hospital beds we can book and all the milk powder we can buy until they are at their wits’ end. Best would be to chase certain Hong Kongers out of Hong Kong, leaving them no choice.

JohnYuchen_Yang:

Can you guys stop trampling on human rights? You Hong Kongers talk about human rights, do mainlanders not have human rights? What right do you have to treat them like this!? Truly embarrassing the Chinese people!

矮油聖誕樹:

The media needs to be fair and objective, not be provocative and misleading. Everyone knows why it has come to this kind of situation. This isn’t the result everyone wants. Nor is it a good way to solve the problem.

梦浮云夕:

Sigh…Hong Kongers write a song intending to despise mainlanders…but end up cursing their own forefathers in the lyrics…do they not have any shame??

Gary何国威:

I’m not a fenqing, and even though some of it is true, I still feel the lyrics go too far. Especially upon hearing Hong Kongers call China “Shina”.[怒]

What do you think?

  • Haiwie

    There’s no cure for stupidity

    • mr. weiner

Hongjian would probably disagree and say “the cure for stupidity is a 7.65 “cherry pie” NATO round between the eyes whilst taking a flamethrower to their families”, but as usual that would be missing the point:]

      • Hongjian

Do you mean the 32. Browning or the 7.65×21 (.30 Luger)?

Because, If I wanted to apply high-velocity lead treatment to some retard’s head, I’d use a 7.62×25 Tokarev and hope for over-penetration to leave a nice, clean hole in the skull.

This, actually, is the best course of action for these pretentious hipsters of Hongkong. Show them that their bullshit is only ‘tolerated’ by the Mainland, and not really accepted for good. Because, if the Mainland wants it, they could run their shitstains over with ZTZ-96A tanks at anytime. The Sino-British joint declaration doesnt have any points against the PLA killing the fuck out of these faggots.

They are playing with fire, and probably dont even know it. The Mainland could squash them like a fucking bugs and there’s nothing they can realistically do against it, but begging for them to respect their “human rights” and “freedoms” or else… yeah, or else what? cry for the UK to come back to help?

This would be glorious if they did. Best chance to nuke the fuck out of that piece of shit island and take revenge for the Opium Wars by genociding all britshits.

        • dim mak

          Comrade Hunggim.

What are you going to do when we form the REPUBLIC OF HONG KONG?

Before long our 粵 brethren on the mainland will join us in arms. Wave after wave of MUSCULAR CANTONESE MEN, backed by rich southern businesses, will DESCEND upon the communist capital, leaving a trail of DEAD LOYALISTS in their wake. Poor, oppressed mainlanders will finally breathe a gasp of FREEDOM when the bandit Beijing regime is overthrown!

After nine centuries of DIVISION the administrative and economic hearts of China will be UNIFIED under a SINGLE THRONE OF POWER: HONG KONG.

Mandarin is IMMEDIATELY outlawed as a barbarian tongue, replaced with CANTONESE as enforced lingua franca. All Hakka will be executed for being Canto-hating faggots. Your beloved commie leaders will be DRAGGED down south, clothed in RAGS, and forced to KOWTOW before a NEW SUN-YAT SEN.

A new policy of HYPER-MERCANTILISM is installed, propelling China into undisputed economic ULTRAPOWERHOUSE status. Short, Jewly Cantonese merchants will keep VAST HAREMS of Northeastern beauties in our ugly pink mansions, ready to breed or fuck at our leisure. Communist sympathizers will be denounced as TRAITORS, CCP rule marginalized to TYRANNY and soon FORGOTTEN in the annals of Chinese history. Their old guards will scurry across the globe, but NEVER will they escape the PERSECUTION of our powerful NEW REPUBLIC.

Whose side will you be on, comrade?

          • Hongjian

            >MUSCULAR CANTONESE MEN

            No such thing.

I couldnt even manage to find clothes of my size in Guangdong, but only children’s apparel.

            Sorry.

          • dim mak

You just pissed off a large, Cantonese man.

          • Boris

With ‘large’ I assume you’re referring to ego, and not intellect, heart, physical stature, and the third big toe that dangles between your legs?

          • dim mak

Is this Boris one of the faggots whining about me not being loyal to Canada in the other thread? Not everyone wants to assimilate into a shitty society with a shittier identity. Deal with it.

          • Boris

It’s wierd. I guess we just have completely different experiences. I’d never met Canadians until I moved abroad 8 years ago. Since then I’ve met hundreds. I’ve only come across one that I found vaguely objectionable (which is odd for me, since reading my posts you can tell I’m an intollerant fucker). The singular feature Canadians present to me is their niceness. If I was going to go and live in a country based on the decency of its members I’ve met abroad, Canada would be my top spot. Then Japan.

          • donscarletti

            Boris:

I think we’ve been over this, dim mak is not Canadian, he’s a Hong Kong guy with the wrong passport. Now think for a second, have you ever met unpleasant Hong Kongers before? For an example, scroll up to the top of this thread.

          • zozimos

“All Hakka will be executed for being Canto-hating faggots. Your beloved commie leaders will be DRAGGED down south, clothed in RAGS, and forced to KOWTOW before a NEW SUN-YAT SEN.”

??????? Sun-Yat-Sen is Hakka??? No????? Even black devils know that :-)

          • Anonymoose

Now, think deep… Who was it that civilized your barbaric baiyue zhuang/yao ancestors?

          • DRaY

            REPUBLIC OF HONG KONG?
That is the funniest thing i have ever read in my life… short, lazy, big ego men trying to fight off a million Chinese soldiers… LOL… that would be funny as shit to see… It would be more realistic if you said the Rich Cantonese will pay off the” Expendables” to fight the Chinese army… Now that would be classic and you may even stand a chance of seeing your Glorious REPUBLIC OF HONG KONG… lol …. Hongjian, please destroy this loser.

        • Visitor

People should be welcomed everywhere. However they should follow the local rules. Mainland Chinese disregard them. For many Chinese it is all about ME and NOWISM. Rules paply to others not me and you want it now.

The rules say no eating or drinking on the MTR, so be it. Why do you ignore this rule. Follow the rules of the road, why do you ignore it (they certainly don’t on the mainland). No urinating in public, why do you ignore that. Wait in line until it is your turn, why do you ignore that. And there are many more examples.

Visitors should should respect the local rules and policies, when you finally accept that, things will change.

          • PeterScriabin

My God, the only sane comment on this entire page. Where’s the Like/+1 button?

I suppose the counter-argument would be that the Mainlanders are only trying to help the locals assimilate into the wider society.

        • Matt

From your language and point of view I guess you’re some God awful mix of yank and chink… I feel for you mate, the two worst things to be in the world in one dirty shell.

          • Anonymoose

Dude, leave him be… dirty chinks will always be dirty chinks. ‘People’ from Hong Kong are the dirtiest chink rats of all who could never leave their colonialist yank mindset.

    • coala banana

hmmmm, lets see. I assume that you opened this very page and was able to see the videos ?

I live in china, and the only thing i can see in the video window of this page is the tiger airways.com advertising picture.

While some people in HK might be over the top with this song, there are still pre-requirements set which result in such reactions, don’t you think ? China and chinese people and chinese peoples public behaviors give a lot of food for thought and are of course an easy target.

While this song might look like a dumb reaction, its still just a reaction, and based on ACTIONS and witnessed experiences made with the people on the “other side”.

For me its easier to tolerate a thought provoking song, executed under freedom of speech, then the spitting, yelling, nose drilling, creating dirt from the ones this song is about.

I can tolerate this song, but why should i tolerate the disgusting public behavior of most of the mainland chinese…?

It’s good to look in the mirror sometimes.

        • mr. weiner

CB only likes looking in the mirror whilst he is doggy-styling an 18 year old model on top of a large stack of reminbi. No man is an island, but I recon he is at least a peninsular.

while i am obsessed with sex, there is one thing i like even more: money ! I would never, and i repeat: never ! fuck a girl on top of stacks of money.

Firstly, cause a fuck experience with me can become real messy.

Secondly, i honor money more then girl i like to fuck.

Thirdly, its sound inconvenient. I mean i have been through all this fucking in/on phone boot, underwater, public toilette, church, library, airplane and even an igloo fuck, BUT to fuck one top of something i honor and respect the most ? No thanks, even the banana man has his limits !

          • donscarletti

By the time CB has sex with an 18 year old model, that stack of RMB is already in her purse.

    • AshamedHKer

I am from HK and I actually agree. But I hope you only label those who actually have this attitude as such, because not everyone from HK agrees with these ignorant fools.

      • Christina

I’ve been reading ChinaSmack for over a year and have never felt so compelled to leave a comment (the fact that it’s 4 am and I’m deliriously tired may also have something to do with it). I’m so happy to see that there are people like you in Hong Kong, people who keep a broader perspective and don’t allow things such as bad experiences with a few to color their perception of the whole. I grew up in Europe and the USA but am originally from Mainland China. The first time I went to Hong Kong, I was only 14 and was very, very badly discriminated against. I couldn’t comprehend why a seemingly nice elderly lady had started swearing at me as soon as I asked the price of a stuffed animal in Mandarin, and my teenage self was SO hurt. I didn’t truly understand the nuances of HK-Mainland relations until much later, and then I learned not to take what had happened so personally. However, that understanding only served to make me even more sad because there is such prejudice and hatred against an entire people- people who aren’t even that different. I’ve always known that not all HKers hate Mainland Chinese, but to actually see one stating that on a public forum is quite heartening. :)

        • dim mak

Very few HKers hate the mainland. We just point out things that are true, that is they’re not very mannered overall. People interpreting this as “they hate us they hate China they’re all traitors” are idiots. I’m sure if the mainland enjoyed similar living standards it’d be the same as HK in a generation or two.

Sorry you met some crotchety old lady. If it’s any consolation there’s also cranky old people yelling at young people in HK, local or not. I know a street from my childhood when groups of old people would sit in the alley and holler shit at people who dressed in too bright a color, had a weird haircut, or kids they didn’t approve of, which was all of them.

        • AshamedHKer

Thanks Christina. My observations growing up as a HKer is that there is quite a large contingent of intolerant people (especially toward mainland Chinese). I even admit that I have at one point in time been discriminatory myself. However, I see now that this unhelpful attitude is the product of HK’s homogenous society (lack of diversity). Because many HKers do not know mainlanders as friends, they form stereotypes and generalize based on the shocking incidents they see on the web (such as a kid peeing into a garbage can in Disneyland). All in all, HK needs to change its attitudes and there is a dire need for someone to step up to speak about moderating this hate-filled dialogue. People are fearful to speak publicly because of being labeled pro-China or anti-China. But frankly speaking, who cares. Someone needs to speak up to make amends.

And on behalf of all the mainland Chinese who have suffered from HKers’ discrimination, I apologize. We should strive to be better.

          • dim mak

Yeah, now it’s obvious you’re not an HKer. HK is by far the most diverse metropolis anywhere in China with all the temp workers and foreigners. Nobody is that self loathing either. Nice try.

          • CHNinUSA

I am really glad that there are a rational HKer standing up saying something like this. But in real Non-English HK forum, like Yahoo HK, if you leave any comment as rational as this HKer, you will be labeled as a motherfxcker, or China locust if typed in Simplified Chinese. The entire HK web is dominated now by the haters, racists and trolls, there are all curse and dirty words, which doesn’t help at all, just increase hate. Once they see some news of bad behavior Chinese tourists, they generalize to all Chinese. And use some discriminative language that you can hardly imagine the American dare to use to the Mexico. As far as I know, in the 90′s, there are many HKers who try to birth their babies in American to try to get their kids US centizen, And I don’t see American did this to them.

So hopefully, more HKer will understand that and know the difference of express your opinion and discrimination. Finally it became a anti-discrimination, hate crimes lesson for those Asian guys , which has been done in the US long times ago.
(there is discrimination/ hate crimes in HK ? )

PS: I don’t like and even look down on ppl who behave poorly in public. But ppl, especially Media, shouldn’t use discrimination to express their anger.

          • 山炮 ShanPao

Lol, you are all getting heated up about this. Just return HKG to the motherland (United Kingdom) and everything will be fine. The Sun never sets in the British Empire (that is until you lower the flag, run away and let a bunch of locusts in.)

            Love and Peace,

            Commonwealth Citizen

          • 山炮 ShanPao

is this about money and development or about controlling savages from shitting in the street?

          • Rick in China

RE: “generalize based on the shocking incidents they see on the web”

On the web? A few weeks ago I saw a .. maybe 4 or so year old girl being instructed by her either older mother or younger grandmother to semi-standing-semi-squatting pee into a fuckin grate on the floor in the seafood area of a supermarket.

The grate on the floor. You don’t need to search the web, get out and open your eyes, I see kids shitting or pissing at their parent’s control on the sidewalk or bushes at least once a week. If you don’t think this is common behavior, you’ve either not been in China long or have grown so used to it you don’t even notice it any more.

        • K

You know what? Seeing as you grew up abroad, I’m sure you don’t apply to this category at all, and I’m sorry for all the unfair bad experienes you might have had, but the behaviour of most of these mainland tourists is a huge problem for Hong Kong. When they spit and shit all over the ground, who do you think has to clean it up? They’re certainly not going to do it. They’re also extremely rude, shoving people around and talking loudly on public transportation. They’ve also overcrowded our hospitals to the point where there’s no room for native Hong Kongers to give birth! All this is essentially lowering the quality of life in Hong Kong which is why Hong Kongers are complaining. Also, if you’re just a normal person, going grocery shopping, and some loud, obnoxious tourist just buys all the milk powder and shampoo left in the store, how would you feel? Hong Kong isn’t some massive warehouse they can just keep taking from – there are people there who need to use these goods for their daily lives. I hate how these mainlanders never think about the situation from other people’s point of view. It’s this kind of selfish attitude that is the problem.

    • GJ

      Just like New Yorkers! XD

      • SuperHappyCow

Uhhh, what? I’m from New York, and am not sure what you are referring to. : O

      • CHNinUSA

I doubt any American dare use such discriminative language in public to all the ppl from other places (like Texans to Mexico, NYKer to outsider)

Because, American media talk about it if there is discrimination in the US so that ppl are educated that “don’t do that!”. Meanwhile, all Asian (not just HKer, Japanese, Mainland Chinese all do this) don’t have this kind of education and sometimes they even enjoy looking down on ppl from other less developed places (which make themselves feel higher).

        • Rick in China

You’re right. There is no racism in the USA *eyeroll*. People don’t speak out publically about other races negatively *eyeroll*.

Dude, are you f’ing serious? Watch some Arizona *governors/senators* and their comments about “illegals”.

“I thought, ‘Are these the students we are trying to educate with taxpayers’ money?’ I have found that substitute teaching in these areas, most of the Hispanics do not want to be educated but rather be gang members and gangsters,” Klein quoted from the letter. “They hate America and are determined to reclaim this area for Mexico.”

That’s the same kinda rhetoric being sprayed back’n'forth in this mainland/HK discussion.

        • Dat Ankle

Your right, American’s dare not use such discriminative language in public, instead they pass laws like banning Mexican studies or shoot and kill a Hispanic man and his daughter for simply being Hispanic. God knows us Americans would never look down on poorer (read as: non- European) nations or at least, enjoy it. We are too educated for such things.

    • hanyucha

Those HKers are shooting themselves in the foot really. They say they are fed up with mainland tourist buying LV and such, but without the tourism, HK would shut down in just a few months.

The best attitude is if you see something you don’t like, just keep it to yourself. You cannot change a mainlander, and you cannot change a HKer.

      • coala banana

i doubt that HK would shut down without mainland tourists. HK did very well without them and would still do well without them. What makes you think that HK would shut down in a few months? Cause LV sells less handbags ? Or less milk powder and fast food is being sold ?

How about the COSTS mainlanders create ? Crossing the borders pregnant and give birth in HK hospitals, disappearing right after they get their birth certificates ?

More jobs are created due to more tourism and more turnover is being made, but to assume that everything would just stop without them is a bit far fetched, don’t you think ? It would result in less turnover and some people would loose their jobs cause of that, but very soon it would be business as usual, AND lets not underestimate the facts that the city would look much cleaner and nicer.

I never understood when poor people bragged about some of their own countrymen which are able to buy themselves an expensive car and watch.

        • AshamedHKer

HK would shut down without the mainland’s support though. The food we eat, the water we drink, everything is supplied by the mainland. Without China, we would be left to die. We don’t want to be a Singapore, left to fend for ourselves whilst being surrounded by enemies.

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

I hate to say anything, but that’s not quite accurate.

Hong Kong has plenty of it’s own water and electricity.

More to the point, I’ve been living here in Hong Kong for about 2.5 years and I rarely if ever eat anything made in china. Hong Kong gets A LOT of food from other Asian countries. The only reason people buy that crap is because it’s cheaper, but at what cost?

My body might not be a temple, but it is an amusement park and there are certain requirements about what can enter….

          • CHNinUSA

@Elijah Yeah, I agree. It’s really unfair to say that China rise up HK or China feeds the HK with resources. The HK gov buy them from China, it’s a trade. Free will trade can’t be said as help or charity.

Meanwhile, The mainlander going to HK buying their staff is also a free trade, there is no any violation of the law.

The only problem is if the HKer think there are too many mainlanders in their city, they should express the will to the gov to change the regulation to make less mainlanders coming. That’s it.

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

@ CHNinUSA: Thanks dude, always nice to see a polite person on this site who doesn’t feel the need to either be pretentious know-it-all or basic troll.

I don’t give a shit about mainlanders clogging up the tourist spots cause that’s what the spots are for. It’s not like they’re coming in hordes to Sai Kung for example.

My complaints about mainlanders are the same as most people in Hong Kong:

            1. Personal habits (hygiene, shouting, pushing, eating, refusing to line up, etc.)

            2. “Double Negatives” = really stupid because it doesn’t really benefit anyone, least of all the kid who won’t be accepted in chinese or Hong Kong schools

            3. Over-crowding… Every time I walk pass a 2 hour line in front of LV or Gucci I can’t but laugh a little at the silliness. I hate crowds, but I’ll put up with them for a few minutes at a time (something of a phobia for me actually) before I get freaked out.

            4. Real Estate prices: Empty apartments inflating the luxury end of the market enticing developers away from affordable housing in favour of rich pricks with no brains….

Simple! 4 rules to not piss off people in Hong Kong…

Wonder if I could translate and distribute this in china?

PS. Having retards on tv talking about things and people they don’t know anything about…. that’s another no no.

      • anon

Hong Kong wouldn’t shut down though it’d be severely hurt economically. Much of the tourism industry employs low-skilled workers, which are plenty in Hong Kong like anywhere else. Another thing that would hurt Hong Kong is limiting investment and business access to the mainland and this would hurt VERY badly. Hong Kong was historically a portal into China labor resources and even market. As China opens up, Hong Kong and its intermediaries are being bypassed. They still have legacy advantages but if you want to fuck up HK, that’s one major way to do it.

I highly doubt HK would be much cleaner and nicer without mainland tourists. Much of the dirtiest places in Hong Kong are populated by locals. The problem is thinking all Hong Kongers are sophisticated white collar types when the vast majority are actually much more like our stereotypical mainlanders in day to day behavior. Get out of Hong Kong island and the ritzier places.

I don’t think mainlanders and HKers can’t be changed. It’s more that it takes a lot of time and indirect education or re-education to change them. People are prone to bias and prejudice, as well as hypocrisy. The thing is that direct and antagonizing confrontations don’t usually help change people. If you’re prone to doing that, changing others then becomes about first changing yourself.

      • UkExPaT

Another business CB forgot to mention is HK Disneyland which seems to be a very big attraction to mainlanders. Apart from HK Disneyland and a few select businesses located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Causeway Bay, Tsuen Wan, Tsing Yi, Sha Tin and TUen Mun suffering financially, the rest of the city should be fine. Hong Kong should not be overly dependent mainland shoppers to artificially prop up the economy. It is not going to last forever and is too risky to put all the eggs in one basket. It should drive to diversify its economy away from finance and real estate, in order to create value instead of just playing with speculations. Talking about speculations, we all know where that has led us to, don’t we?

  • dim mak

These people are an embarrassment to Hong Kong.

They should be harassing the poor worthless mainlanders that only come here to give birth, not the rich shoppers with their delicious golds.

    • The Dude

It’s interesting you call mainlanders ‘worthless’.

      • dim mak

Not so, I only call the worthless ones worthless.

  • The Dude

    Not really surprised.

Hong Kong people have good manners in general.

    Mainland… well….

I remember my last trip to Hong Kong, on the way back a trio of idiots pushed in in the IMMIGRATION passport checks queue. They didn’t give a fuck.

Then they thought it was funny being loud and annoying even though there was a woman close by with her small child… a Chinese woman I might add. How many times they said ‘mother fucker’ in Chinese I can’t even count… with a small child there.

I’d have liked to shoved his Burberry hat up his ass.

I should think Chinese people would be quite happy with Hong Kongers singing a song to them, they really love songs.

    • jake1988

Ok, you are son of a bitch. Don’t shout it back, beacuse i think you would be quite happy with this title.

      • coala banana

he just posted some of his experiences he witnessed first hand. How is that makes him a SOB ?

he finished his post with a bit of sarcasm putting the song in a different light (which was funny BTW).

your reply to him on the other end….oh well !

It reminds me of the people which criticize islam(ization) in europe, cause they are called islamophobic, when they speak out reasonable critic.

Things seems to have changed with the time. While one group can protest holding signs with “kill all westerners”, “behead the infidels”….the other group is not allowed to point out to this facts which occur. If they do, the “good humans” will stand up and call them names or shut them down.

Same in this case, while most of us which live and work in china witness things first hand (and my experiences match with The Dudes quite well), its not allowed to talk about it, and if its done then one has to expect a “you son of a bitch” comment ?

You know, i like liberalism, but i don’t like liberals which see liberalism as a one way street…it works both ways, same like tolerance, rights and obligations. While one must tolerate disgusting public behaviors, its not allowed to point them out publicly ? Walking blind folded through life might work for you, and calling people names for pointing out their own experiences, but that doesn’t makes you the good and tolerant guy.

      • The Dude

Ahhhh Jake1988 of twenty three years of age fame….

It was you in the queue wasn’t it!

Nice to see your mouth is still as charming as on that day.

    • elizabeth

I have had rude Hong Kongers bump onto me but instead of apologizing, they shot a stare. I have also had mainland Chinese run into me, and sometimes me into them, but they said ‘bu hao yi si’ even before I could turn to look at them.

Perhaps I should conclude that mainlanders are more civilized than HKers.

      • coala banana

i think they are more or less equal rude. But i prefer the HK rudeness in HK, compared to the mainland rudeness in HK and mainland, simply cause of the nice HK environment and the slightly better dress code and style of HKers. Over 100 years under british rule, so one must give them at least some props, otherwise all the education and developing infrastructure would have been for nothing.

HKers are world champs when it comes to hypocrisy, no contest, but my understanding is that when i could chose who is rude to me then i would chose the one who is better dressed and at least pretend to be better educated, at least he/she is rude with “some” sort of style, and the chances that he spits in your face during this process are much smaller in HK then on the mainland !

HK people ARE better looking BTW, especially the male comparison is obvious !

        • elizabeth

I think all of us are naturally prejudiced in favor of better-looking, sweeter-smelling people, environment and things. But sometimes we forget that we were also once like the ‘lesser beings’ either ourselves or our predecessors. Also, sometimes it is no entire the fault of those people we shun but the system, and things they have no control over.

And I would beg to differ as I think the really gorgeous hunks and beauties are the mainlanders. Mainlanders are also more real compared to the HKers I know.

Having to choose between on who pretends to be classy but spits in front of me and one who pretends to be friendly and culture but stabs me behind my back…hmm…that’s a difficult choice.

The way it is, we are all humans and every country and race has its good, bad, beautiful and ugly. Seen from that perspective, it’s strange that we tend to see people in terms of country and race but not as fellow human beings, some who are cultured, some not so…

          • coala banana

i see where you are coming from…but…

“Also, sometimes it is no entire the fault of those people we shun but the system, and things they have no control over.”

does “no control over” includes buying soap, toothpaste and a decent pair of shoes ? Somehow i doubt that ! Does it include spitting and smoking under no smoking signs and destroying and poisoning environments and killing animals in the most cruel way cause they think their small didi will grow bigger by eating certain foods ? hmmmm…

who is more real ? lets see….guess what, why care who is more real ? who is real anyway now a days besides Castro and Chavez ? See it this way, regarding the back stabbing one can grow a thicker skin or just by a protection west….ok this leaves us with the spitting :-)….in HK i can do something about back stabbing, they have a great court system and i have my rights.

Back stabbing in china ? Fuck, since no protection wests are available for us mortals, you are left alone with getting a thick skin ASAP, while they spit in front of you all the time !!!

HK anytime baby, it has the right mixture and balance of organized chaos and western influence !!! Ask the HKers if they share your comments…fuck it, better ask the mainlanders if they share your thoughts, cause most likely they would spit in front of you, say fuck china, and ask you where is the fastest way to HK, cause it sounds good compared to their mainland:-))

          • Christina

Elizabeth- “The way it is, we are all humans and every country and race has its good, bad, beautiful and ugly.”

            Couldn’t agree more. :)

        • http://thecapitalinthenorth.blogspot.com jixiang

Buying soap, toothpaste, and nice shoes? Well I know a lot of Mainlanders who shower every day (with soap) and clean their teeth as well.
In the North of China, however, people don’t really shower much throughout the winter in the countryside because they don’t have the facilities at home, the supply of running water is interrupted because the pipes are frozen, there’s no heating and it’s too cold etc.. They have public showering rooms, but you can hardly go there every day. Are these things they have control of? You should try living like these people before judging them.

      • Gustavo Fringe

I have lived in HK for a bit, during that time I hated it. I thought the people moved too fast, I thought they were rude and obnoxious. Then I made the move to the mainland, where the people don’t move they just sit and/or stand, smoke everywhere, they are rude, always spitting, always pissing or shooting snot from their noses while they are walking down the street. I found mainland Chinese to be ignorant, xenophobic, racist at times, and above all completely moronic as society. No matter what issue I had with HK it was well forgotten. These mainland savages act like they just recently came down from the trees, they have no manners or sense, they barely even have a culture so much know it. Currently, the culture that they do have is whatever media they have managed to get translated, so they are watching sex in the city or whatever pirate streaming video they can watch. Anyone who said that Americans are the worst tourist never met a Mainland Chinese one.

Elizabeth, I think you might have ran into someone from Taiwan was it a cute sounding “bu hao yi si’? Regardless, your conclusion is flawed Mainland China is mostly shit, you fail..

        • White Phosphorus

          i agree wholeheartedly!

        • elizabeth

You are entitled to your opinion although it would help if you would broaden your experience and open your eyes to the positive things.

I hear ‘bu hao yi si’ very often from the mainlanders, even my landlady who is so refined she would put some of the foul-mouthed, arrogant critics here to shame.

I just tickles me how people complain but they still remain. If we are here, we are benefitting from the input of mainlanders. Without them, I doubt if many of the foreign-owned factories would make a profit or even survive. These mainlanders whom you describe in the most amazing of vocabularies are the very ones who help you make your dream come true on Hong Kong island. Without them, many will not be sitting comfortably in their ivory tower dissing their very source of wealth.

Or should I conclude that those who exploit the poor and helpless would not be doing so if they aren’t obnoxiously ignorant of the hands that feed them?

It is ironical for some to call mainlanders garbage and what not are actually the ones who should be rinsing their mouths.

  • Foreign Devil

I can understand HK sentiment. . .however it was not so long ago that people in USA, Canada and England felt like HK immigrants were low cultured locusts too. . . Learning good manners and chivalry goes a long long way in improving image.

    • UkExPaT

You are right, except for the fact that HKers learned quickly to stop those annoying behaviours, but mainlanders refuse to abide by laws/customs to continue with their usual shouting, spitting and smoking etc…..

  • Peter

You know that’s the most idiotic thing anyone can do to another, do they even realize what they’re doing to innocent tourist bringing business into their economy.
What would happen if HKers are treated like this openly on a global scale?
HK is part of China, their ignorance is only being shown globally as this news spread.
I use to hear how other Asians didn’t like Hkers when they came to their countries and behaved poorly in the eyes of the country’s hosts they were in yet they never treated HKers like this…are people in HK so stupid now?

    • Crazy_Gweilo

Eh, most of those tourists just spend money on luxury goods since Hong Kong has no luxury goods tax. So 99% of that money they’re spending goes straight to European luxury goods firms, or the pockets of the super rich landlords who own the prime shopping areas. Its debatable how much Chinese tourism helps the majority of Hong Kongers.

      • Suijen

I’m sure it’s more than that. Mainland tourists have to eat. They have to stay somewhere. They have to be able to get around (public transportation or taxis). They’re probably going to see Disneyland or Ocean Park, and they’ll probably pick up a few knick-knacks here and there. They might even have to turn their RMB into HKD, which I’m sure a currency exchange company probably likes. And all that baby milk powder that mainlanders buy will mean profits for markets. And after all that, there’s going to be other spillover effects. The Chinese may be locust, but they’re locust who eat everything and leave money behind.

      • dilladonuts

@Crazy Gweilo… your statement shows your ignorance to economics, go away junior.

    • dim mak

What a load of PC bullshit.

If HKers acted like a bunch of savages then we deserve to be treated like shit. In fact that’s probably what it was like in the past when HK wasn’t as rich. I don’t know, I’m not that old. The locals here in Canada and even other Chinese immigrants harbor negative stereotypes about HKers. I’d openly admit some of them are true.

The same is true of mainlanders with their ass backwards rural attitude so I see no reason why people can’t point it out without some limp dicked liberal faggot BAWWing about “there’s bad people everywhere!”. No shit, Sherlock. But there’s more from the mainland.

      • mr. weiner

Aaaah, Now that’s more like the Dim Mak we know and love!

“limp dicked liberal faggot BAWWing about “there’s bad people everywhere!”.
Now my day is complete. Haven’t seen any comments from Frau Hongjian tho.!?! I would have thought this posting would be like meat and drink to her.

  • elizabeth

Hong Kong “Locust World” singers, you may wish to offer this other Eason Chan song to sweep up the mess you have created:

    http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTc5NjU4ODgw.html

  • staylost

That is really sad. Hong Kong kids should know better.

While it is true that mainland China lacks culture (from the obvious yelling, spitting and nose picking, to the more subtle ignorance about the world, willingness to be sheep, and shameless money grubbing from those who are already rich), those mocking them are just bringing themselves down to the same level.

  • Krell

    Sad but true.

  • White Phosphorus

Mainlanders are like teenagers with shitty ass attitudes, face full of acne and poor hygiene. They come into HK indulging in shopping for luxury goods and other items, but then they go and berate HK people. Don’t f*@^king come here having your babies if you don’t like us HK people. I see too many new reports about Mainlanders (Beijingers, whoever) calling HK people “dogs” and other degrading slurs, yet they come crawling to HK all the freaking time. Stay in your Mainland and keep the door.

    • coala banana

yeah, but the money ! its always the god damn money ! while i agree with what you said, one must take into account that tourism from mainland is good for HK economy. Sure they have the talent to cheapen all brands they buy and wear like no one else, BUT they buy them and thats what counts economy wise.

I don’t know how much from such turnovers makes it back into the tax pockets of the CCP, but one could see it like a reverse corruption scheme. They steal the money on the mainland and then go shopping in HK and gambling in Macao. Since the CCP can’t or is not willing to stop that, it could be a decent way to get some of this money back where it belongs….let them spend it. Of course it come with the obligatory spitting and farting and eating in subways, nose drilling and scratching asses while waiting in lines outside of LV, Chanel,Prada and Gucci stores.

I came back from japan yesterday, and spend the day before in HK for some meeting, drove by Ocean Center and saw them as usual in front of all this shops, even sitting on the walkway and eating like migrant workers on the mainland, monkey style (i call it monkey style cause of my mainland experience when you walk in a public park with all the round stones there, one can see on every stone a male chinese sitting on it in the obligatory monkey pose.

I found myself more and more on HK island side during the last years, sold my apartment in Kowloon and bought one at the Mid Levels. The chances to see mainlanders on HK side are much smaller, maybe its cause everything is cleaner and better organized, so they feel uncomfortable :-)). The housing prices went up cause of mainlanders and they will also crash down one day cause of mainland.

HK vs mainland is different like day and night, 2 different worlds and people.

      • elizabeth

Agree, given a choice, I’d prefer to be living in Hong Kong island cf Kowloon or mainland for the physical environment but I am not too sure if I would remain very much human in the longer term.

As for money, I’d like to master it instead of the other way round…and spend them slowly, in pieces, instead of stacks :p

      • White Phosphorus

ok coala banana. good argument put forth. but i still think they’re like teenagers with shitty as attitudes and bad hygiene. :D

        • coala banana

and i very much agree with that, WP !

I don’t think, like many others here, that their lack of hygiene comes cause they are poor. Fuck that, someone who can get a passport and make it to HK to go shopping is NOT poor, fact ! And while having the money to shop and make OceanPark and Disneyland dirty, why not buy some hygiene products along the way ?! Fact is, that body hygiene, clean teeth and improving attitudes, are not on the top of their priority list, its simple as that. No one in china asks for that. Its a country where a rotten mouth motherfucker can marry a model, where a nose drilling bastard can clean his nose with his extra long pinky nail while on a date with a beauty. Where a male can shoot nose rockets while walking and holding hands with his GF/wife. Fact is, one just don’t see this things in HK, cause its a society which has already set certain standards to be accepted.

Mainland and mainlanders just don’t have any sort of standards, except money and success. It can come in the most blunt and dirty ass styleless way, and no one would give a shit. Its the country of NO opportunities for the common man, while in modern societies even an ordinary person can make it, as long as he knows how to behave and care about his hygiene and outlook(at least that would be a good start when applying for a job or ask a nice girl for date). Most mainland girls look at that the same way, as long as the guy is rich and successful they don’t give a shit about anything else.

    • Chad

One guy called HK people dogs. I’ve seen hundreds of HK commenters post really nasty comments about the mainland. So much for being more civilized.

      • coala banana

it is in fact more civilized to post nasty comments on the internet rather then express them in public where one can get seriously hurt:-)

Its not the question which people are more civilized, its about which country is and how this country has achieved it. One achieved it with democracy and education and an over 100 year euro rule, and the other TRIES to do it with thousands of years local oppression and dictatorship, lying and cheating.

Give me the 100 year euro beating anytime, much better then when my own neighbor and fellow countrymen beat me. Cause the chances that the foreigner, will in the process do something good, educate me and built up my infrastructure are much better then when my fellow countrymen is in charge who is not interested at all to improve anything….

        • White Phosphorus

          LOLOLOLOL

        • Chad

You write way to much CB. No one even reads it lol

        • BritishMaster

Whats the point of nasty comments then? You are trying to insult the other party, its like talking shit behind people’s back it achieves little. Say it to their faces, now back to the pound you dog.

          • coala banana

i don’t know where you saw an insult ?

BTW, signs like “dogs and chinese not allowed” was quite common in earlier years of British Master rule in HK, how is that for an insult British Master ?

however, i just gave 2 options, in case you chose the chinese option with very limited rights, no freedom of speech, spitting, corruption and nose drilling…and prefer that rather then a civilized society its up to you my friend. I think we both know the answer how valuable and serious your hypocritical try to protect the other side was.

See it this way, every man is just as loyal as his options. You can talk out of a secure habitat, cause you have the luxury the mainlanders don’t have. Before you attack me, why not ask the ones which are affected: the mainlanders ! Ask them and let them chose. Like i said before, most likely they would spit in front of you and ask you for the fastest way to HK, and when leaving would tell you to put all your good talk and advise and sympathy for chinese people right up your british master ass.

          • mr. weiner

I think the infamous ” no dogs or chinese allowed ” sign only ever appear in a Shanghai park. Will have to fact check that. The Brits for all their snootiness were in the main able and fair[ish] colonial administaiters. Shanghai was set up to by other colonial powers largely to escape the kind of restrictions the poms put in place.
Which of course was usually dealing lots of opium and weapons and the like.

Well the Hong Kong wording of it is a lot politer if that is the case , even if it means exactly the same thing. Thanks for the correction

    • donscarletti

I’m going to defend mainland tourists here.

Every time I go to Hong Kong, in every SASA store 70% of the customers are Mainland Chinese buying cosmetics and perfume and the same goes for the high range cosmetic stores. The LV, Channel, D&G, etc stores are all packed with mainland tourists buying expensive bags. I have a friend in Ningbo who bragged to me about spending HK$40,000 buying an Omega watch in HK, whereas I spent CHF2,900 (HK$23,000) on the exact same model in Lucerne.

I’m not sure what the HK economy would be like without these people, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be as prosperous. HK is not the world’s only door into China any more, so it needs a new angle, this seems as good as any.

All mainland tourists need is a little more respect for Hong Kong values. If they could figure out why HK with a population of 7 million manages to produce more A list celebrities than the other 1.3 billion then it would be fine. In reality, I think many of them know full well, they’re just too proud to acknowledge it, which is why they sometimes act the way they do.

      • CL

Do you know, tourism only contribute to 3% of hong kong’s GDP? Retail contributes to another 3%. And among those 3%, not all of them are mainlanders. And those money are only beneficial to those greedy businessmen, not much to the poor people in Hong Kong. It is those businessmen who cheat you, just as a lot of mainland retail stores like to cheat hong kong people to buy expensive products too.

Hong Kong people also travels to China and spent lots of money. Therefore, we are equal. It is NOT chinese feeding hong kong people. We don’t need you tourists. Go to Lucerne to buy your Omega, we don’t need you at all.

        • donscarletti

That’s right, Dongguan is on the mainland, but I’m sure you get your money’s worth.

        • anon

GDP in this case is misleading. Employment would be more important. How much does mainland Chinese tourism contribute to keeping many Hong Kongers employed?

Hong Kong businessmen and investment provides employment to many mainlanders just as mainland tourism provides employment for many Hong Kongers. Money is travelling in both directions and benefiting people on both sides. There are costs and there are people who aren’t benefiting, but don’t underestimate the value each side brings to the other.

      • coala banana

like CL already pointed out tourism in general contribute to 3%. But they are important 3% and i think that HK wouldn’t want to be without it.

You gave some good examples, BUT to think that SASA and some luxury brand stores would make any difference is wrong. Maybe the 70% mainlanders in SASA scare 70% locals and western tourists away from buying there. And a countries economic situation is for sure not based on how many LV bags can be sold to mainland chinese. Go to the street markets of MongKok, Temple Street, Wanchai and others, I would argue that all the street sellers make more money by selling their fake bags to western tourists, then original luxury brand shops sell original products to mainlanders. We mainly see mainlanders standing in front of luxury shops cause they catch our skilled eyes easy. The way they dress and behave is obvious, but we don’t see that many japanese, koreans, local HKers and westerners stand there too, cause they just dress and behave normal.

HK was a great city without mainlanders coming for shopping, and not much would change if from tomorrow no mainlander would cross the border to HK. A little bit less turnover, ok, but that would be compensated soon with something/someone else for sure.

BTW, the costs mainlanders create while in HK kinda make up for the money they spend, don’t you think ? Don’t overestimate the buying power when its limited to handbags and some watches, when at the same time very much everything else is left behind.

Now, if one day, i would discover the first mainlanders in LanKwaiFong, in a Starbucks, eating and drinking in one of the may very good japanese and western style restaurants or even some excellent chinese restaurants, buying some decent shoes, underwear and socks too, to match the handbags and watches, then I would consider that you might have a point. Giving the opportunity for SZ citizens to cross the border to HK with just an ID doesn’t mean you will get millions of people spending enough money to make a significant difference. Check the CTS bus stations when they go back to SZ, GZ and other cities…bags with plenty of dry food and baby milk powder and some other cheap ass shit like children toys. Most still just cross the border to have a look, same like on the mainland, the malls are full packed with people, but how many of them you see with bags , which actually bought something in one of the hundreds of shops ?

Macao on the other side ! gambling ? no question, thats their shit ! they are crazy about gambling, and yes, without mainlanders Macao casinos could close, no question. HK without mainlanders would just appear like a small fart which was blown away by the wind.

        • dilladonuts

I’m glad you found a website where you can let out your animosity towards the mainlanders along with many other jealous at heart, have nots, but how people choose to spend their money really isn’t anyone’s business.

If you don’t like it, do something about it, sitting on the internet bitching about Chinese people’s mannerisms like a 12 year old girl bitches about the color of her socks has already long been unfashionable.

You seem like a smart enough person, stop acting like a know it all retard.

If it wasn’t for the Chinese, some of our favorite 141 walk ups, walk in’s wouldn’t exist. =) ( for those in the know )

    • Greg Miles

      White Phosphorus,

I have been reluctant to post comments regarding the Mainland v Hong Kong disputes that have recently surfaced on Chinasmack and Chinahush because I believe discussions relating to it are unlikely to be fruitful. However, I have been highly entertained by the comments you have left. You seem to be comfortable expressing an honest opinion about people from Mainland China. Let me share in that logic, and leave an ‘honest opinion’ on my perception of you. It will be fun, are you ready?

First of all, I recall reading a comment you wrote in an earlier article berating Mainlanders for ‘cheapening’ luxury brands. Here you are again ranting derogatory comments, raising some sort of vendetta against a particular ethnic group that can products that you cannot afford to buy.

I believe that you are the type of girl that only a white guy would be attracted to. The Chinese population in both Hong Kong and Mainland China would find you to be physically repulsive. In Greater China, there is a conformity in view that certain phenotypes are attractive and certain brands help enunciate those positive attributes. For example, guys in China like girls to be thin, have pale skin and have large eyes. You seem to possess none of those attributes. Thankfully you aren’t fat (are you?) or that would lower your chances of finding a partner even further in any ethnic Chinese country.

Luxury brands tend to look good on girls who fit into the above phenotype. I know many girls who look absolutely stunning with a white LV Multicolor “Canvas” bag or a Chanel Classic Large Flap bag. I wouldn’t advise you to purchase any of those as your dark skin and relatively large bones and meaty composure would likely ruin the elegance of the bag. Although, you could research the history of the bag and then claim to buy it because you know the biography of Coco Chanel.

Although its not all doom and gloom for you. White guys like girls with a bit of ‘meat’ and some ‘tan’. Which you probably worked out and its probably the reason why you are confident putting your picture up in public on Chinasmack. In the back of my mind, I’d love for you to put your photo up on ‘Netease’, ‘Liba’ or whatever Chinese forum young people use. I can imagine right now as I’m typing this, the amount of ridicule you would get. 那么丑还敢把照片放上来。 LOL.

Stop hating on the Mainland Chinese population so much. Learn to put that shi* behind you. They are better looking, wealthier and can probably pay your parents enough money to disown you. Hong Kong belongs to China and mainlanders will do whatever the f*ck they want. Get it?

        • Greg Miles

Buttmad? Lol, hell no. I just tell the facts as they are. Do you care to differ on that view? Is White Phosophorus attractive? Isn’t this story about luxury brands and the perception of Chinese? My comment is more or less ‘right on the spot’ in terms of what this article is discussing.

            Mainland asspain confirmed.

I challenge you to identify HK vs mainland based on picture alone. She doesn’t look any different than a lot of mainlanders, and yes, I’d tap that.

There’s nothing wrong with having dark skin, btw. It’s a sign of GOOD HEALTH. I’m just as swarthy as White Phosphorus, southern and 100% Chinese. Problem?

Go rub on more whitening cream, faggot.

          • dim mak

And what kind of metrosexual faggot is even looking at a woman’s bag, let alone know what the model is? Get the fuck out of here.

          • Greg Miles

Mainland asspain? You’re funny. Nice cuntonese name by the way Dim Mak. Why don’t you explain what it means to us all?

I never said White Phosphorus looks like someone from Hong Kong. I just said she is f*cking ugly. People from Hong Kong generally have wider nostrils, flatter noses, as well as being shorter. Take Jordan Chan as an an example of a stereotypical guy from Hong Kong.

Would I tap White Phosophorus? Well, I sure as hell wouldn’t approach her. Even if she was literally throwing herself at me begging me to take her home, I’d have to think twice.

Sure there’s nothing wrong with having dark skin. Mongoloid eyelids are also better for cold climates as it helps to protect against the cold. Flatter nostrils help warm the air and larger bone density means stronger healthier bones :)

I don’t need whitening cream. My skin is white as it is son. I am metrosexual and I love wearing designer clothes. Although it has nothing to do with knowing the most common LV and Chanel bag. Plenty of girls who I’ve dated love luxury brands and talk about them all the time. Given the stereotypes that exist, why are you surprised?

Further, by Southern Chinese, if you mean you’re from Guang Dong province, then congratulations in living in the most f%cked up province of China.

          • White Phosphorus

LMAO, the fact that you resorted to personal attacks, means that my comments really pushed your buttons!! Wow, you are so easily angered Greg! Guess I did my job! You rant and personal attack goes to show how:
            1) idiotic you are
            2) insecure you are, and…
            3) HOW WRONG you are! LOLLLLL

BTW, I don’t know how anyone could judge someones skin colour, height, weight, and overall appearance accurately from a small avatar picture in a forum. Although I applaud you for getting EVERYTHING wrong about me! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

          • dim mak

            >still denying
            >still mad

You got something against Cantonese now? Dim mak is the instrument of your subjugation, look it up.

Pale ass pretty boy needs to come talk shit about other Chinese people under a pseudo-Western name and go on long tangents about some lady’s avatar to alleviate his SUBSTANTIAL asspain.

Guess what? Guangdong kicks ass and its people are the engine of the Chinese economy. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

        • White Phosphorus

I truly truly believe that Greg is a mainlander, that, or we insulted his mother (who is a mainlander). LOL.

I am so VERY ENTERTAINED by how angry he is over my forum comments!! LOLLLL.

          • Patrick

I think we should find out using dim maks measurement, I second it – I’d tap that*. ;)

            * This comment is merely an expression; as the writer of said comment is married to a hot mainlander that would kick his but for causing the “loss” of face.

          • Christina

What makes somebody a mainlander, other than the fact that they or their parents were born there?

It is very narrow of you to lump people from an entire country (minus HK) into one big group of “stanky,” uneducated, ill-mannered people. The most well-educated, polite, respectful man I know is from mainland China. He went to top business schools in Germany and Switzerland and is an executive at the corporation he works at, yet is still very humble about it all, and willing to help anyone who asks. I also know some incredible people from Hong Kong. The only differences are the language they speak and where they were born. That’s it.

It is not race or nationality that makes one repulsive or attractive- it’s one’s characteristics and mannerisms. I am sorry if one mainlander did you some grave wrong to make you think this way, but open your eyes and recognize the fact that no one person is representative of an entire people.

          • White Phosphorus

hey, PHOTOSHOPPED ANOREXIA, GET BACK ON TOPIC, EH?
            ROFL.

          • White Phosphorus

STARTING TO SEE A SWARM OF LOCUSTS (MAINLANDER GIRLS) JEALOUS AS ALL HELL COMING ON HERE TRYING TO FLAUNT OR PROVE SOMETHING FAKE. LOL.
            WOOOOOW.
            :OOOO

          • coala banana

            @christina

you guys really crack me up:-)))

ok, you know “The most well-educated, polite, respectful man, and he is from mainland China.” And that proofs what ?

ah yeah! he went to top business schools in germany and switzerland and is an executive ! Not saying that there are no well educated “mainland educated mainlanders”, but your example got his education from europe. I doubt that he can be taken as the alpha example of a mainlander.

But you brought up a good point:

“It is very narrow of you to lump people from an entire country (minus HK) into one big group of “stanky,” uneducated, ill-mannered people. The only differences are the language they speak and where they were born. That’s it.”

I have a black friend and he told me once the difference between niggers and negroes. When applying his example to china, one could say that the majority of people from mainland are niggers, but there are very few negroes ! This makes your euro educated friend a negroe and the motherfuckers which spit in front of him while he walk down the streets, niggers . Does that makes sense ?

Funny thing is that you contradict yourself several times in one post. At the end your write:

“but open your eyes and recognize the fact that no one person is representative of an entire people.”

I am sure that means that your friend DEFINITELY can’t represent the wast majority of rotten tooth spitting motherfuckers on the mainland ? You must live in a bubble girl :-))))

          • Christina

Banana, the point was that he was still a mainlander. Nowhere in my post did I say anything about all mainlanders being well educated and well mannered, because the truth is, they’re not. However, there are quite a few who are, so again as you acknowledged, it is wrong to lump an entire nation into one group.

White phosporus…… I remember reading a few comments in which you derided greg or someone or other for judging you by the one picture you have on chinasmack. are you not doing the same now? the picture I have up is not photoshopped, as I love myself and would never want to change anything because I believe God made me the way I am supposed to be. I am a mainlander, raised in the US & Germany, but whatever pack of jealous mainland girls you’re referring to does not include me.

The only thing I feel, in fact, is a bit of pity and humor. The mainland man I mentioned earlier is one of the most important men in my life- my father. The other, my boyfriend, is half cantonese. One foul-mouthed, dirty and badly mannered HK girl is not enough to shake my faith that most are still the polite and civilized mini-country they take so much pride in. I truly feel sorry for you, and I hope you can just take that without derision. I know you must have had some sort of bad experience with a person from the mainland to incite such hatred, but seriously- stop hiding behind a stage name to abuse the rest of the population, who has done nothing to you.

          • elizabeth

            Well done Christina!

      • White Phosphorus

Hey hey, I’m not the one coming on CHINASMACK forum to PROVE myself to everyone by openly DECLARING that I’m a meterosexual, and I carry luxury brands, BLAH BLAH BLAH!!

The fact that you do that, goes to show, you need to PROVE yourself on the internet to a bunch of a random strangers when the TOPIC of this forum has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with your kooky little lifestyle, LMAO.

You are BY FAR worst than any trashy mainlander! At least the mainlanders flaunt their luxury goods, bad teeth and stank in public, BUT YOU- You’re a tad strange! YOU like to FLAUNT yourself to a bunch of random strangers on the internet. LOLLLLLLL

So hilarious! This “Greg Miles” angry on behalf of trashy mainlanders with bad teeth and stank breath. LMAO.

      • White Phosphorus

BTW, what personal items I OWN, the specifics of my financials, I find NO NEED to FLAUNT to random strangers on http://www.chinasmack.com, like you do! LMAO.

As well! I STAND FIRMLY by my belief and comment that mainlanders cheapen luxury brands! I WILL NOT RETRACT this statement, no matter what silly little things you’d like to conjure up as to the REASON why I make these types of comments about mainlanders!

        AND REGARDING PERSONAL ATTACKS:
I DO BELIEVE that your mother is a mainlander and that she was likely an STD harbouring whore who let all sorts of men penetrate her stank *%^&#, which resulted in the birth of YOU!!

        You malignant cretin.
        LOL.

        • Hungus Maximist

^ You really need to stop faking the force lols. Lol…

People keep forgetting that this is the internet. Nobody gives a toss until you prove a valid point/argument but in any case, that’s probably isn’t sufficient as seeing again, this is the internet.

So stop putting yourself on a pedestal and chill the fark out.

        • Greg Miles

BTW, I don’t know how anyone could judge someones skin colour, height, weight, and overall appearance accurately from a small avatar picture in a forum. Although I applaud you for getting EVERYTHING wrong about me! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Yes, you have dark skin, small eyes and look like you’re in your mid thirties. While I don’t know your weight or height based on the two photos you proudly put on gravitar, I also never commented on them. Oh and yes, you are ugly.

BTW, what personal items I OWN, the specifics of my financials, I find NO NEED to FLAUNT to random strangers on http://www.chinasmack.com, like you do! LMAO.

Neither do I. I never once mentioned my own possessions. In fact, the only thing I did was openly admit to being metrosexual and wearing brands. Oh and dating girls who use brands.

But is this something new to you? I didn’t realize that no girls from Hong Kong use brands, and it would therefore it’s ostentatious to mention that I met girls who have. Looks like girls from Hong Kong are even more insecure than I thought.

          AND REGARDING PERSONAL ATTACKS:
I DO BELIEVE that your mother is a mainlander and that she was likely an STD harbouring whore who let all sorts of men penetrate her stank *%^&#, which resulted in the birth of YOU!!

You have a dirty mouth White Phosphorus, which would be kind of sexy if you were hot. Unfortunately you aren’t. Despite how honest you are on your comments on mainlanders, you are surprisingly sensitive and unreceptive about people talking about you in the same manner.

By the way, your grandmother was a mainlander and she’d probably be appalled at your lack of mannerism and rude obnoxious behavior which you are displaying simply because you are on Chinasmack.com.

          • coala banana

i think you have some issues Greg !?

judging by the 2 avatar pics of White Phosphorus, she is good looking and she looks also hot ! She appears to have personality and character too and has no problems to point out her opinion, can’t find anything wrong with that.

Who care how tall she is, with that outlook she could be a fucking midget and most males would still want to tap her a$$ (no insult to WP, just a compliment).

You seem to be obsessed with skin colors and heights and eye shapes, thats kinda sick my friend. Keep it simple,:

            1. skin color doesn’t matter as long as the skin is clean and looks healthy, she could come out of the african desert or amazons jungle or escimo igluu …who cares ?

            2. a fresh outlook and nice personality, beautiful smile and shining teasing eyes ! You must be fucking blind man if you don’t see that !

            3. dirty mouth ? well, you asked for that…and i am glad she came out with some nasty words, makes her even more sexy and shows that she can also dish it out if necessary….

          • White Phosphorus

Dude, stop discussing your terribly flawed perception of my looks, oK?! This is about trashy mainlanders like you, your mother, etc. So let’s get back on topic!

BTW, you KNOW NOTHING about me, my ethnicity, background etc. SO KEEP GUESSING LOL it’s quite entertaining!

            *sings “LOCUST WORD” to *

            ROFL LMAO LOL TROLOLOLOL

          • White Phosphorus

Funny how you claim to know where my ancestors come from LMAO.

And also, personal attacks don’t qualify as “good arguments”, I think you better pull your slangy mainlander eyelids open, SEE and READ your own posts you malignant cretin.

Unlike those trashy stinky mainlanders, I don’t need eyelid glue for my natural double eyelids and neither do I need the false eyelashes and whatever else FAKE that these mainlanders love using….FAKE eyelashes, FAKE nose, FAKE milk powder…etc. LOOOOOL

And I can LOL AND TROLOLOL AND LMAO AND ROFL all want. You seem INSECURE about people laughing at you!!! Or maybe, you’re just angry cause I exposed you as a mainlander who is soooo insecure about himself, he needs to go flaunting what he SUPPOSEDLY has on the internet to a bunch of random strangers, LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

          • White Phosphorus

HOW INSECURE this COWARD is to come and attack a woman who displays her photo (*PROUDLY*) on GRAVITAR, and HE HAS AN EMPTY DISPLAY! LMAO

GET A life you COWARD. Guess that’s when happens to old mainlander men who are still attached to their mother’s TIT.

AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I AM 5FT10 and can LIKELY kick your sorry ass back to the mainland!

            LLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLLLLL>>>>>_>>>>

          • White Phosphorus

AND thanks coala and dim mak for exposing this pathetic excuse for a man, GREGMILES.

I am going to bed its 2:30AM here plus I need to study for an exam tomorrow.

The war against the locusts shall continue later!

          • Greg Miles

BTW, you KNOW NOTHING about me, my ethnicity, background etc. SO KEEP GUESSING LOL it’s quite entertaining!

Your ethnicity is not my concern. But by your photo, I’d say probably say your you have some Thai or Filipino in you.

Funny how you claim to know where my ancestors come from LMAO.

Yeah, its sort of funny to know that Hong Kong was actually part of Mainland China before you were born right :)

HOW INSECURE this COWARD is to come and attack a woman who displays her photo (*PROUDLY*) on GRAVITAR, and HE HAS AN EMPTY DISPLAY! LMAO

That’s the whole irony of the matter. You are ugly and yet you put your photo *PROUDLY* on Chinasmack. Who does that? LOL

You remind me of the fat kid at school with the big ego. You think you’re hot but you’re actually laughed at behind your back.

Coala Banana saying he would tap you is a perfect illustration of the exact point that I pointed out.

Coco Lee, the girl dating Mark Zuckerberg, the Filipino maid, the Indonesian maid, the Vietnamese waitress are perfect examples of what white guys find attractive and Chinese guys do not. You fit into that list White Phosphorus. So perhaps you shouldn’t *proudly* put up your photo on Gravitar.

Coala Banana, I don’t mean this in an insulting way but I’m not in my fifties and I don’t go to KTV clubs to pick up. I’ve never paid for sex and I don’t ever intend to. We live different lives.

You may find White Phosphorus attractive. She certainly may be more character than the girl you find in a massage parlor. But to me, that’s still not good enough. I am in my early twenties and I like girls younger than me, who aren’t paid prostitutes and are refined. The mentality of having sex with anything that has a hole is not my approach when it comes to sex. The fact it may appeal to some people is something that I accept, so in that regard, I am not passing judgment on you. I’m merely stating the difference between us. I hope you don’t take offence.

Lastly, White Phosphorus, your racism dumbfounds me. I don’t know whether you hate Mainlanders because of the characteristics you perceive they possess or whether you are simply a xenophobic psychopath.

Suppose you meet a mainlander who is much more educated, wealthy and positive than yourself, would you still hate that mainlander simply because he/she lives in a different city than yourself?

Your reasons for hating mainlanders are completely unsubstantiated by any form of logic. Mainlanders come to buy goods that you cannot afford to buy. This is called stimulating a part of the economy by increased gross domestic product. If you run out of milkpowder, buy more and make more $$$.

You are naive to believe that people buy luxury brands simply because they are fascinated by the brand’s history and design. Part of buying any branded item is to flaunt one’s wealth. Further, the freedom of an individual to do what they feel within the confines of what is legally allowed is a sign of that person’s success. There is a reason why the richest people in the world can get away with underdressing to events. An important part of freedom, is the ability to do what you want and when you want. This requires financial power, which a lot of mainlanders have and what you lack.

Before you go down a spiral of self destruction, you should have a look in the mirror at what you are becoming. You are vain, racist and rude.

I pointed out some very *real* facts pertaining to what most Asian countries perceive to be positive physical attributes and proportions. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I’ve described you from your photo in less than four words. I’d say that they are assertions of fact.

          • donscarletti

            @Greg Miles

          • donscarletti

Shit, dropped my image tag. @Greg Miles

          • White Phosphorus

AGAIN, LIKE I SAID, STOP TRYING TO ASSUME YOU KNOW MY BACKGROUND, FINANCIALS, PHYSICAL TRAITS,DOWN TO MY EYE SHAPE AND SIZE, LOL.

UNLIKE YOU, I FIND NO NEED TO FLAUNT WHAT I OWN OR HAVE IN MY POSSESSION AS I AM NOT AN INSECURE LIL BOY LIKE YOU

CLEARLY YOU ARE ONE ANGRY LIL MAINLANDER!

            MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

          • White Phosphorus

AND “ANON”… YOU need to stretch your MONOLIDS and re-read the post. I simply expressed my opinion ON THE TOPIC, and GREGMILES decided to launch a personal attack due to my OLDER POST about how MAINLANDERS CHEAPEN LUXURY BRANDS! LOL. If you can’t physically do it, then I’ll give you a roll of EYELID TAPE!! LOL.

GET A LIFE “ANON”…BUNCH OF COWARDS IN HIDING!

This is a FORUM to expression OPINIONS ON TOPIC, not to launch personal attacks because I INSULTED dirty mainlanders with bad teeth who frequently cheapen luxury brands!!

          • White Phosphorus

“You are naive to believe that people buy luxury brands simply because they are fascinated by the brand’s history and design. Part of buying any branded item is to flaunt one’s wealth. “- Greg Miles

QUOTED FROM GREG MILES, CLEARLY you ARE a MAINLANDER!
            LOL.

You are one of those that strap an LV and Gucci and Lanvin bags to yourself all at once with rotting teeth, 35RMB shoes and shooting snot rockets all over the street! While wearing a HUGE tacky logo shirt and FLAUNTING you wealth, like you just indicated above!!

            POINT PROVEN.

          • E Puff

If I may, insert some objectivity here. @GregMiles, no gentleman would ever approach White Phosophorus in the manner you have, as to attack her appearance and caller her ugly. I looked at her picture and to my eyes (even if American, and from a female perspective), she is quite beautiful. White Phosphorus, I have a few more choice words for you…

I’ve read many of your views and I think your comments about mainlanders, your constant attacks against them makes you come across as a bitch. Your descriptions of them are distasteful and a form of CLASSISM.

Here’s what you need to understand. Not that a westerner’s opinion should carry weight, but if I stood you next to a person from mainland China, or stood any average male and woman from hong kong next to a mainlander, WE WOULDN’T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. So when you put mainlanders down, to an outsider you are just putting yourself down too. You are all Chinese, you come from the same ancestors and share similiar appearance.

The nuances you hone in on that makes you different from your mainlander comrades, are imperciptible to an outsider. So your comments come across as self loathing and delusional.

So instead of putting mainlanders down, lift your brothers up. Help their image – why destroy? And why so much disdain? Don’t give other races and countries an excuse to believe they are superior to your mainland comrades because ultimately, that same form of classism and racism will come back to you.

          • Nilerafter24

            lol@ greg miles (what a name,btw)
you must be some pimply faced nerd. wtf are you talking about?
I personally think White Phospherous is extremely hot (according to her avatars).
I don’t see yours. So i’m going to assume you’re a butt ugly, butt-heart computer warrior who spends too much time with his right hand.
I usually don’t like assumptions and I don’t like generalisations. Yes, white phospherous and Coala banana have said bad stuff about mainlanders. But I’ve seen loads of mainlanders insult HKers. That is kinda wrong.
But you’ve resorted to personal attacks over the internet where it’s basically useless and shows how ignorant you are.

          • anon

LOL, someone’s riled up. White Phosphorous, it’s impressive how you can stuff so much hypocrisy into each comment, such as getting angry at others for making personal attacks while doing the exact same thing yourself, or getting angry at others for making assumptions about you only to make assumptions about others.

I don’t even have eyelids in my profile picture, or eyes for that matter.

          • Robert from Sweden

I think E Puff is the sole sensible voice in this little drama here.

        • dilladonuts

The very definition of a confused middle class girl who’s heart is full of hate due to her own insecurities. Your extreme lack of education, tolerance and understanding for all things worldly is quite apparent.

if I had the patience lil girl, I would take you to school simply by quoting you and pointing out your contradictions.

You are not funny, you are not wise, you come off as a very ” small ” person, and I’m not talking about your physical characteristics.

Simple life advice – Hate isn’t good for the soul.

          On your bike you go.

          • mr. sausage

And Greg Miles is a model for sweetness and understanding? Get real man. He started it and was quite nasty about it too. I think he hates women with opinions, don’t tell me you are in the same camp.

          • dim mak

I find it funny when bigots call others bigots to cover for their own bigotry.

            See: Greg and dilly here.

          • anon

“He started it”? What are we, in grade school?

Looking at it objectively, they both leave a lot to be desired. He made some valid points about White Phosphorous but yes, he sabotaged himself by being a jerk in the process. Then again, she’s been sabotaging herself from the beginning. They’re a mirror image of this whole HK vs. Mainlander bullshit. Both sides are embarrassing themselves so badly that anyone else taking sides with either against the other rather than condemning both is essentially evidence of their bias.

          • White Phosphorus

AND thanks dim mak for pointing our the pot calling the kettle black!!! CLearly we have a bunch of mono lids obstructing the view of what’s REALLY being posted on here.

Stupid mainlanders! We don’t need you to swarm into HK to cheapen the luxury brands. Stay back in your homeland and keep making FAKES…fake milk powder, fake double lids, fake shoes, fake handbags.

I’d rather we not even sell to the mainlanders to preserve the image of the luxury brands. NOT EVEN SAAB automotive would sell their company to mainland investors…why? Mainlanders are garbage as far as the world knows, and nobody wants to ruin a good brand!

      • White Phosphorus

Coward hiding under an alias “Greg Miles”, for ALL WE KNOW you could be a lil insecure mainlander girl who is just sooooo angry that my comments pinpointed you and your uncivilized people’s behaviours and qualities.

PLEASE STOP FLOODING HK AND HAVING YOUR BABIES HERE!!!

Since you are SOOOO WEALTHY and SOOO CIVILIZED why don’t you go pick up after the years of damage to your MAINLAND and like one person said earlier, GO IMPROVE ON YOUR OWN LAND FIRST, and stop swarming ours because you mainlanders are too idiotic to create a a civilized country on your own!

LOL. get it???? SO get OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE, anonymous person (could be girl/boy/transgenered/gay WHO KNOWS) AND go fix your very serious mainlander issues FIRST, then come to HK and flaunt your trashy logos (FAKE ones or whatever).

Clearly you are missing the MAIN POINT of this article and you are clearly insecure since my earlier comments from how many weeks ago, has set you off. You must be one of those INTERNET PSYCHOS who harbours anger and holds grudges for a long period of time, then go all out and try to viciously attack people for expressing their opinions.

        YOU NEED TO BE MEDICATED!

        • White Phosphorus

AND I AM 100% CONVINCED NOW THAT THE INSECURE CRETIN HIDING LIKE A COWARD UNDER THE ALIAS, “GREG MILES” IS CLEARLY AN ANGRY MAINLANDER WOMAN.

NO MAN WOULD POST HALF THE SHIT THAT SHE DID, WHILE THE PERSONAL ATTACKS AND BRINGING UP WHETHER A WHITE MAN OR CHINESE MAN WOULD DATE ME OR NOT CLEARLY INDICATED- SHE IS A WOMAN!!!

          JEALOUS, COWARDLY, AND INSECURE!!

I have to say, the entertainment value of these posts are reaching the point of diminishing returns.

I find it hilarious that someone as ugly as you would *PROUDLY* put their photo in public to view.

If I didn’t know you, I wouldn’t say that to you in public for two reasons:

            1. There would be no need, since I also wouldn’t know immediately how much of a racist bigot you are.

            2. I generally refrain from criticising anyone

            3. I wouldn’t want to break your fragile ego.

But since you clearly expressed your views online about mainlanders. Why wouldn’t I express my own about you. It’s only fair.

You base your insults on the ‘iconic’ mainlander as the stereotype exists in your head. I base my comments on photos of “you”. Posted online in color for everyone to see.

If you were even remotely attractive, I wouldn’t of said a thing. But you are not, and you are butt ugly and I would have second thoughts about even sleeping with you if the chance presented itself. The reason I gave for that is based on a set of reasons I’ve outlined clearly in the above posts.

You’re probably pissed because what I said is probably true. How is Adam, or James or Peter or the last white guy you dated? You have no dress sense and you look like a middle aged lady. There is nothing more to say.

What is worse? Your looks or your revolting personality? Both leave too much to be desired.

        • E Puff

What is all of this talk about luxury brands? My closet if filled with that shit, everything from Coach bags (I hate Louis Vutton) to Chanel or even Jimmy Choo. I don’t give a shit about the name brands, I typically own somewhere between 65-70 purses and match them to my outfit everyday (If I’m not feeling too lazy to change bags) and the truth is, I dont’ give a shit about the name brand ones, the ones I end up carrying are the ones without a name. When you have all of those “luxury” brands in your possession, they dont’ seem as important anymore. Only children, teenagers, and shallow people care about name brands.

And what is this talk about “mono-lids”? Is this a racial epithet? Why is a mono-lid wrong? Because it doesn’t match what a westerner looks like? This conversation is aggravating and sad.

          • coala banana

Puffy, with all due respect, according to your own account, you never been to china, never lived there and never worked there. In addition you never been to hong kong either. Your knowledge about china is (again according to you) by watching and collecting KungFu movies. Hey you even said yourself that no one has fucked you in the last 15+ years? Girl, you should go to one of those “religious freaks forums”,that would be better for you.

You said it yourself and it shows how less you know:

“Not that a westerner’s opinion should carry weight, but if I stood you next to a person from mainland China, or stood any average male and woman from hong kong next to a mainlander, WE WOULDN’T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. ”

Then you must be blind or ignorant or don’t know shit about china…in your case most likely all 3 combined:-)))

“You are all Chinese, you come from the same ancestors and share similiar appearance.”

yeah, thats all they need a black american which never been to china to tell them how they should feel…you are FUCKING amazing !!!

“The nuances you hone in on that makes you different from your mainlander comrades, are imperciptible to an outsider. So your comments come across as self loathing and delusional.”

AGAIN just fucking amazing:-))))) ! NO ! They are just not imperceptible to YOU cause you obviously don’t know shit !

“So instead of putting mainlanders down, lift your brothers up.”

HHAHAHAHA ! Fuck ! you rock, you can’t even get a mainlander to lift a mainlander up, and you call someone from HK to help his “brothers” ?? :-)))) Come to HK and ask them how they feel about their “brothers”. Hey, you told us you are black american right…..are you also calling all other blacks in american and africa BROTHERS ? Does that mean that I should take every ill mannered, spitting, rotten mouth, dirty feet motherfucker as my brother, just cause we are from the same country/race or whatever.

Fuck ! don’t you think that brother/sister/friend are titles which must be earned ! Fuck, even to call yourself a mother or father are titles which must be earned by actions and positive results. You anti racist people are in fact more racist then any of the racists. Fuck this race/family/friend/brother shit. Earn your respect first through actions and results, then we can sit together and have a respectful chat. I just can’t see how the typical mainlander can do that, cause from his point of view he don’t do anything wrong. He do in HK the same shit he does on the mainland. And hey, what makes you think that a mainlander gives a shit about your “brother analogy” ? You know very little and the little you now sucks big time…..keep watching your king fu movies and stay the fuck out of china, it would be a huge disappointment for ya ! You are black ? :-)))), fuck the mainlanders “love” black people !!!! Give it a try ! The majority of people you defend see you as a monkey, dirty skin bastard and devil. Most chinese males wouldn’t even fuck with Naomi C. when she would pay them money ! This is how they hate black. If by now you thought some whites are racists and hate blacks, then come to china, where racism has a whole new meaning….good luck !

  • Ryo

I’m Hong Kongner and I’m ashaimed at what these people are doing. Of you want to teach them manners, have some yourself. Shouting on a train like a mad man? Not so civilized. How about just ask nicely that you shouldn’t eat on the train and please clean up the mess. Or simply tell someone of authority to do it.

I do realize that a lot of Chinese still have a lot of work to do at being “civilize” but that’s mostly the country’s fault. Lack of education and lack of public bathrooms for starters. Then there’s the proverty. When you’re at the bottom of the barrel all your life, the last thing on your mind is personal/public hygiene.

The people going to HK should at lease respect their “culture.” One Chinese commenter said it best, when you go to someone’s home, you should respect their rules and not have them bend over backwards to accommodate you.

    • Ryo

Another thing I want to add is that Chinese don’t care about authority here (in china) because there is none against minor offenses. I’m sitting here at a big restaurant having tea and these people lights a cigaret when there are no smoking signs everywhere. I’m in Guangzhou and it even made the news with people taping customers smoking in a restaurants where smoking is not allowed. They tell the waiters but they do nothing. They call the “smoke police” and they do nothing. They said they’ll fine 50 for every offense but not one fine has ever been given out. This no smoking “law” has never been enforced here, and it probably never will. This simply extends to all these little things. Eatting in MTR, pissing in public, spitting, littering, etc etc etc. Why stop doing when no one is telling them not to? Because it’s not “civilize?” no one ever taught the what that means!

      • Suijen

Yeah, I agree. It’s really a matter of socializing. There’s always a perception that all Chinese spit, shit, piss everywhere and cut in line. It’s not true, but it looks that way because the rest of them who have manners, and who know better, won’t say anything. They won’t yell “That’s fucking gross” or “stop smoking in the elevator douche bag”. And let’s be honest, if no one criticizes you, how would you know you’re inconveniencing anyone else? A non-smoking sign carries as much weight as a no jaywalking sign.

To give in an example, drinking and driving was not big deal in China before. Now because the police are more vigilant about it, people do it less. They know drinking and driving, if not unethical, at least carries a consequence.

    • elizabeth

CB, please read this. Ryo has said exactly what I wanted to say to you. Maybe you do not know enough poor people in China to understand why they do not buy soap.

As for the issue of being real, just because everyone else seems to be fake does not mean it’s pointless to be real. It does lots to the soul to stay true to oneself.

      • coala banana

i think i know enough people, rich and poor.

I also doubt that you can call mainlanders which come/can come to HK poor ?!

My critique is not against “poor ass not enough to eat, not able to travel to HK bastards”.

I criticize the ones which do have money to travel to HK, do have money to buy soap and a decent pair of shoes and still don’t do it. I criticize the styles rotten tooth bastards which stay in front of the LV stores to buy their GF a 40k handbag, and themselves a 500k watch while wearing 45rmb shoes and white socks, smelling like shit and eating like pigs.

But even you think about normal mainlanders, here is another example…..I employ 500 people in china in different companies. You buy the workshops they will not wear the, you buy them dust masks to protect them, they will not wear them. The lowest cost worker earns in my companies 2.5k yuan, which is 1k more then he could earn somewhere else. A normal decent looking pair of shoes cost around 100-250 rmb, soap is cheap and a nail clipper too…..now don’t give me that this “poor” people don’t like to spend their money and prefer to save it to send it back to their families. Get real ! I work and live with this people ! Most of them go 1-2 times a week to a foot rub…45 minutes for 35 yuan, that makes around 150 a week for foot rubs. Wouldn’t it make sense to go just 1 time a week and buy a pay of shoes and a second pair of socks, some toothpaste, a nail clipper and soap instead ?

And don’t think that none of them would stab you a knife in the back if they could. Cheating, lying, stealing, is very tolerated amongst them, and is not considered a big deal. Don’t get me wrong, I still like each and everyone of them and i even like the chaos and hurdles one must overcome from time to time, but that doesn’t make things different then they really are. When all chinese were good people and everything would be nice and easy, clean and hygienic, then i would post just that, but that is not the case here, sorry. Disappointment comes from wrong expectations and i compensate my “disappointment” by making money. I have been, like most, through my first 6 months “understanding chinese people process”. Well, found in the last 6 years that understanding myself is more beneficial :-). I get used to eat like a dog when with them, i was already fucking like a dog when i came here more then 6 years ago….the food is great though, but HK food is better !

        • Robert

God you talk a lot, and it’s always about the shoes isn’t it. What do you do and who are you? The western voice of dress code and etiquette? ALWAYS on about the damn shoes!!

          • elizabeth

Lol! His is the White Pages. He lets his shoes do the talking.

          • White Phosphorus

he runs a small shoe factory in shenzhen.

        • elizabeth

I get your POV from your perspective. I do not know how much you pay your workers, but 100-250 RMB is a lot of money for a pair of shoes to the average salaried man I know here.

I also see why you are so put off by the spitting, digging of noses, smoking and lack of consideration because I see that everyday too.

But I do not agree that the impression you and some others are creating about mainlanders is fair. Maybe it is your location or the people you deal with but the majority of mainlanders I know and meet are far from what you have described. They hold reasonably high standards wrt personal hygiene, health and living environment although they are not rich. I think it is not fair to this group of mainlanders that a negative stereotype is propagated.

Someone mentioned that mainlanders cheapen luxury goods. Being civilized is not only a matter of behavior or physical appearance. Much of it is also about attitude towards fellow human beings. It is already a bad sign of what materialism can do to a person’s soul.

Hong Kong is no longer as attractive and Shanghai has already caught up. Critics of mainlanders should leave their prejudices behind or risk being left behind. Hong Kongers should build bridges with their mainland countrymen because their may well be the life line to their survival in years to come.

          • coala banana

then you should read again elizabeth….i already wrote that i pay minimum wage of 2.5k yuan…its about 1k more then they could earn somewhere else….

and i also pointed out that most of them spend 150 for foot rubs 2 times a week….so from your point of view mentioning that 150 is a lot of money for them to spend for shoes, then why its not a lot of money when pay for massages 2 times a week, buying soap and a nail clipper ? So when you point out that 150 is a lot for them to spend for shoes then you should be able to explain why its not a lot when a small monthly share (compared to the 600 a month they pay for massage services) is not a lot ?

Fact is, that their (most chinese) priorities are set differently then your or mine.

            You say :

“They hold reasonably high standards personal hygiene, health and living environment although they are not rich.”

:-)))), hope this was a joke. Its something even another chinese would laugh about, most chinese i met in the last 6 years say themselves that china and other chinese are dirty. Now we need foreigners which teach us that this is not the case ?

When most of them would smell good, take care about daily hygiene, then i would write just that, but that is not the case….again just practical experience and observations. You know there are people like me which are just realistic, kinda helps now a days. I see things how they are and have no problem to take them how they are, but that doesnt mean that i have to talk myself everyday into believing the opposite…..

or do you live by the rule that when you have noting good to say about anything, then better keep quite….? Might work for you !?

          • elizabeth

2.5K yuan? That’s peanuts. CB, try living on that amount for a month with a family in tow and let me know if you are still as fine a specimen of homo sapiens you seem to be without scratching your butt.

As for foot rubs, I’ve also seen chain smokers begging on the streets. But we cannot conclude from anecdotal observations that all other mainlanders are like that. Different people have different priorities and they may defy logic, but they might also happen to think that to splash thousands on a branded bag is stupid when you can get one at one-tenth the price that functions just the same. Who is to say our priorities are superior?

“:-)))), hope this was a joke.”

No it’s not. The fact that there are Chinese who commented on how filthy some others are testify to the fact that those I mentioned do exists :D Like I have said, it could be the people you deal with. I have many Chinese friends who are trendy, clean, well-mannered etc. And they would be very much offended if they see your remarks and some other derogatory ones here.

I am by no means living out an illusion. I came to China expecting the worst only to be humbled by how misleading comments about Chinese people are. Maybe in a world where money is the lingua franca, you see things differently from another where true friends are not a myth.

Go to any part of the world, and where money rules, you see prostitution, drugs, human trafficking, hypocrisy, arrogance, etc. That to me is much more filthier than all the spit I come across on the streets combined.

      • coala banana

btw…..here are some all day all day examples from mainland china, nothing exciting, but hey, i wouldn’t want to see that in HK, especially not in the area where i bought myself an apartment, cause it has cost me a small fortune, a few of this sick bastards from the mainland in HK and the prices go down:-))):

I wonder if being loud and aggressive is a way of trying to counter a feeling of inferiority ?
I used to think that was what was going on, but now I just feel like it is some people’s personality.
There are loud and aggressive people in every country, just as there are quieter types.

(another profound insight,,, thk u, thk u! no applause, just throw money). :-p

how can you generalize all the people from HK as dogs (in public) and not expect retaliation?

this is the result of people reporting partial news, while concealing the entire truth.

I wonder if these people are aware that there are several hundred thousand Canadian-passport holding people residing in HK. Their kids come back to Canada for university education at subsidized cost, and I guess some of them probably also retire to Canada and take advantage of social security and free health care, which they did not pay into. I haven’t heard of any condemnation against these practices on the news.

Despite this I can almost guarantee that in Canada, it would be illegal for other Canadians to do what is being described here to these people.

All I can say is that those who are doing this are actually quite backwards and not only not better, but worse than the mainlanders they despise so much.

    • White Phosphorus

That’s unfair to say, since Canada has a plethora of immigrants from many different countries who do the same thing that you speak of. CANADA IS A VERY COLOURFUL COUNTRY!

      • TO

I didn’t say people from other countries don’t do this, only pointing out the hypocritical nature of some HKers.

If they believe that it is wrong for mainlanders to take advantage of HK, then they should not be taking advantage of Canada, regardless of what immigrants from other countries do. It is ironic how HKers typically look down on the countries of these other immigrants (namely South Asia, China, middle east, etc), but fail to hold themselves to a higher standard.

As far as I know, there are more than 300000 Canadian citizens in HK. IIRC this is more than in any other country, save for perhaps the US.

      • Chad

I’m from Canada, and no one does this like Hong Kongers do. We still put up with it (for now) although we dislike it. Do we harrass Hong Kongers on the street for pulling this scam? Nope. That’s what civility really is.

        • White Phosphorus

Please cite where your sources for this information comes from, otherwise stop spewing your stupidity, jealousy and anger at us, it only makes you less credible.

          • Chad

Google “Canadians of convenience hong kong”. The more you know.

      • laiwingnang

really? White Phosphorus. I’m from Canada and immigrants here don’t shit on the street and subway like Mainland chinese do in Hong Kong and they certainly don’t start fights whenever they get criticized for their uncivilized behaviour. Enough of this holier than thou attitude from people here because Canadians have seen nothing yet. We’re only getting the educated Mainland chinese and the better crop of immigrants from other nations coming to Canada while Hong Kong is getting the worst of the ghetto who are there to rip off the system and causing chaos to their society. The racism might not be right, but they are trying to vent their anger….It’s so easy to fingerpoint when people are sitting on their a** in front of their keyboard, when the shi* hits them, it’s a different story..

    • congee1

Exactly, TO. I also find it highly ironic that many of these same ‘proud’ HKers calling mainlanders locusts were probably the same ones that drove property prices through the roof in Toronto and Vancouver when they were fleeing HK like rats off a sinking ship before the handover. Not only did they thereby deprive many middle class Canadians affordable housing in and around the city, in the process setting up de facto exclusionary Chinese only ghettos in desirable neighbourhoods, they also swamped the public schools with their kids. These kids often required additional support, again courtesy of the Canadian tax payer, to adjust to the Canadian school system.

You also forget to mention the HK/’Canadian’ custom of dumping Granny and/or Gramps in Canada to look after the kids while the parents return to work in HK thus neatly avoiding paying taxes. So not only does the Canadian tax payer pick up the bill for the schooling of these kids they also have the pleasure of paying for the fixing of all the ailments that the Grandparents picked up after a lifetime of living in HK’s toxic environment.

So, how do you say ‘breathtaking hypocrisy’ in Cantonese?

      • dim mak

Even more bullshit. Housing prices were driven up in the last 5 years, long after immigration from HK had ebbed, and way after the handover. It’s all mainlanders buying up the property now. That’s assuming you actually care about housing inflation in some foreign country instead of just using it as a dig against HKers.

        • congee1

So the fact that housing prices have also risen in the past 5 years somehow negates house price rises associated with HK migration pre-handover? Interesting logic.

          • dim mak

Housing prices nearly doubled in the last 5 years, what HK immigrants did is neglible compared to that. Nobody is claiming HKers don’t value property, all Chinese people snap up real estate when we can. Land is power. It’s a cultural thing. You want to single out this universal practice as a faulty comparison for valid regional differences is “interesting logic” on your part.

    • dim mak

Yeah, that’s another load of shit.

Canadians let foreign nationals take advantage of them because they’re idiots. We’re not. Not to mention there’s tons of mainlanders, Taiwanese, and all sorts of immigrants doing the exact same thing. Difference: HK immigrants bring money, prosperity, high education to the places we immigrate to and don’t act like half the dicks mainlanders do. Mainlanders game the system to a shameless degree, it just doesn’t show because there aren’t as many of them here, yet. That model minority stereotype is built by HK and TW immigrants, it’s the new mainland immigrants that are reversing these perceptions with poor behavior.

      • TO

It’s not a load of shit, when you even agree that HKers are gaming the system. HKers don’t act like dicks? See congee’s post above. HKers are more educated? Go to any university in Canada, see who the top Chinese students and professors are. Mainlanders game to the system to a higher degree than HKers? How can you even back this up? How exactly can you even game the system to a higher degree than what I and congee1 have described, that we all know HKers have done?

Most of the bad Chinese students I’ve met were from HK and Taiwan. And rich mainland students. Perhaps a small group of original HK and Taiwan immigrants long ago built up the model minority stereotype, but as it sure doesn’t apply today

        • dim mak

Incorrect. HKer’s don’t act like dicks or game the system nearly as much as mainlanders, in Canada or at home. What HKers have done mainlanders do to an even greater degree, it’s that simple. Most HK immigrants have either graduated or repatriated, invalid comparison is invalid. Not to mention overseas HKers are more or less the same as the ones at home, while rich mainlanders sure as hell don’t represent the poor rural peasants on the mainland.

I suspect you target HK/TW because of unjustified mainland chauvinism. At least HK has a good reason to be chauvinists, the mainland simply doesn’t have the credentials to look down on anybody.

          • Chad

That’s not what Canadians think, Dim Mak. HKers are known as THE Canadians of convenience. Period. It’s always ironic to see a HKer look down on the mainland when you don’t realize your stature outside of HK.

      • Chad

dim mak: I’m guessing you don’t actually live in Canada. HKers don’t act like dicks in Canada? Ha!

        • dim mak

          Ah yes, Chad. Fenqing extraordinaire.

Do you ever post anything here that isn’t some knee jerk response to soothe your injured feelings? That’s what you come here for, right? Not to defend your beliefs or offer an opinion, just to lash out at opinions that offend you. All that snarkiness isn’t fooling anybody, I hope you know. The only reason I’ve resisted calling out emotional people like you is because I happen to agree with you, most of the time.

I live in Vancouver. No mainlander harasses us for the things we do because they do the same thing, or intend to. Canadians think HKers are citizens of convenience because we’ve been here longer and are better represented. That is swiftly changing. I don’t see mainlanders offering to become true Canadian patriots. In fact the attitude you’ve displayed on this site makes it extremely hard to believe that you are nothing but loyal to China first at the expense of any other country. Why get so upset otherwise? It’s a common phenomenon amongst overseas Asians and you know it. I admit it, and you pull some hypocritical shit like only HKers are like this?

HKers act like dicks in Canada about as much as we do in HK. Mainlanders act like dicks about as much as they do on the mainland. Which is a lot more. Deal with it.

          • White Phosphorus

In fact the attitude you’ve displayed on this site makes it extremely hard to believe that you are nothing but loyal to China first at the expense of any other country.

            AMEN.

          • Chad

Emotional? You mistake blunt, harsh words for emotion dim mak! And I never said mainlanders don’t harrass you. I meant that born and bred Canadians don’t harrass you because we are taught social appropriateness here, something I don’t see in HK as often as can be seen from this whole matter. I mean seriously, you’re from Vancouver. When was the last time you heard of a group of Canadians surrounding a bunch of HKers on the street because they refused to speak English, acted cold (but polite thank god!) to anyone who wasn’t from HK, abused the healthcare and social safety nets, set up dirty as hell Chinatowns decades ago, streetraced in ricer cars, and wore mismatched, oversized CG jackets in the fall just to look rich?

And I’m not a mainlander ya dolt. I’m born in Canada to Hong Kong and Guangdong parents, so I’ve got perspective from 3 “sides” here. I’m loyal to Canada first and only but I also enjoy educating ignorant buffoons on China (including HK). It just so happens that most of the misconceptions about China are negative so I seem like a cheerleader. You might have also assumed I was a mainlander because I disagreed with you and actually told you straight up about what others think of HKers. That’s too bad and speaks of your own bias. You needed to hear it though.

And trust me, no Canadian can tell the difference between a HKer and a mainlander. You’re a HKer so you don’t realize it, but that’s the truth. Just remember… no matter how much you tell others you’re better than mainlanders, quite frankly no one outside of HK will give a shit or take you seriously.

    • donscarletti

You wouldn’t believe how many “Canadian expatriates” I have met in China who’s English level and understanding of western culture is quite lacking in comparison to your average member of the Shanghainese professional class. Most of them do not have the educational and professional status for a residence permit, so they tend to enter under their Chinese passport and thus their Canadian passport is not recognised by the PSB (very sensibly in my opinion), but they still love to bring up that they are Canadian.

For this, Canada is considered something of a worldwide joke, whether the Canadian press has enough freedom to report it or not. I seem to remember someone decrying “Canadians of convenience” in the past, but I didn’t see anyone actually doing anything about it. Maybe someone should take note about how the people of Hong Kong deal with troublemakers from abroad.

      • dim mak

        Deportation.

I’ve been called a Canadian of convenience before. I laughed and told the guy, “So what?”. I’d gladly be a real Canadian if it didn’t mean grouping myself with a nation of lazy, cultureless hipsters.

So, you’ve got Canadian citizenship, reap the benefits of it, and instead of being thankful for the ease it brings your life, you come here and insult your fellow compatriots? And, from what people are posting, you’re not an isolanted case of wankery -there are thousands like you?!
What I don’t get is why young Canadians don’t shave their heads, extensively tattoo their bodies, and go out in groups kicking cunts like you to death.
You should thank your lucky stars your ancestors didn’t choose to come to Russia. You’d be twitching in fear everytime you left your fucking apartment.
Getting back to the topic: I don’t see what the big deal is. They’re just shopping, farting and talking too loudly. However, if they were driving…………….

          • dim mak

Because Canadians are a bunch of sissy faggots with no sense of pride or nationalism.

Ethnicity = nationality for a lot of Asians, get over it. I was actually more patriotic than the average canuck until I realized nobody appreciated it. They actually hated you for it. Props to Russia for having that harsh attitude towards foreigners.

          • Boris

The average Russian’s racism boarders on pathology. I neither admire it nor condone their violence to immigrants. A heap of people from the ‘stans’ get offed by ‘nationalists’ in Russia every year. I imagine most of these people are perfectly decent, working hard to support their families. It just leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth, comparing their fate to that of those pointed out here who rinse the welfare state of Canada. And worse, pricks like you who wallow in it as if it’s something to be proud of, whilst championing their ethnicity.
PS -thanks for the heads up about Canadian’s ‘sissy faggotry’. You’ve just helped me decide on my next holiday’s destination. : D

          • dim mak

Yeah well, if you’re ok with Russia being overrun by random Turks from Shitfuckerstan, that’s your call.

  • Dongdong

I think China smack misses a part of the story. Writing such a song is indeed stupid. However, see what they got from an honorable chinese professor of 北大 a few weeks before:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDDIefdwVpE

Living in HK, I can tell it really pissed the whole population, even friends who are usually pretty moderate. Being insulted by a bunch of idiots over internet is something nobody should care about. But by a professor on official TV… Obviously it would raise tensions…

    • Dongdong

China-accessible version for mainland basic viewer without VPN:
      http://www.soku.com/search_video/q_%E5%AD%94%E5%BA%86%E4%B8%9C

But then no english subtitles (I assume living in China without VPN, then you should have a pretty good mandarin ;)).

      • donscarletti

I think you mean this one: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzQ0Nzk5NzY4.html the first result you linked to was just about the TW election.

I’ll just transcribe the first part:
        “两种不同的语言AAAH这个细节很重要AAAH两种不同的语言AAH,一种食谱通话一种是方言DUIBAH!,说普通话的人没有义务,没有必要说任何一种方言”

His pronunciation, presentation and posture is not befitting of a speaker of a prestige dialect or a member of the educated class. His general physical detestability is WHY Beijing women continue to be nailed in record numbers by Hong Kong men. Mandarin usually sounds much nicer than Cantonese, but not when you speak it like a pig.

Then he criticises Hong Kong people for not considering themselves Chinese enough. Luckily Sun Qingdong is NOT representative of all mainland Chinese people, but if he was, I would have to say, better to be a dog than a pig.

        • Dongdong

          Indeed, thx for the correction.

    • White Phosphorus

Yes! This was the cretin I was referring to in my first post!

    • dim mak

Beida has a long history of hiring politically loyal professors even if they’re really underqualified or just downright kooky. It’s the southern universities that harbor real, albeit liberal academics.

Then again I don’t think it’s fair to judge based on this one guy.

Kong Qingdong is essentially China’s Rush Limbaugh, except Rush Limbaugh doesn’t teach at one of the nation’s best universities and doesn’t swear as much. I mean, has this guy ever gone a week without saying something retarded? Everytime someone brings up that he’s the 73rd descendant of Confucius, I cringe at the damage he causes Confucius’ legacy.

      • donscarletti

Kong Qingdong also said that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is the greatest country on earth. That alone makes him an idiot.

    • anon

They mentioned Kong Qingdong in the previous post about this HK vs Mainlander bullshit.

The thing is, it’s one thing to exercise freedom of speech even in public, and another thing to surround and harass people. Neither Kong and these Hong Kongers have my sympathy or respect.

  • CL

This is a very biased view on Hong Konger’s action. Why don’t you post Professor Kong’s video calling Hong Konger dogs and bastards? Who is spreading the hatred?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nUkiaDS3g4

This video shows how pregnant woman thinks about getting hong kong citizenship. she just want to get money from the social welfare, but never think about how to integrate into the society.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q25WGQasHps

    • anon

Kong was mentioned in the previous post.

There’s plenty of bias in the Hong Kong media as well.

Both sides are spreading the hatred.

      Let’s not kid ourselves.

  • B

Yeah go get them, I support the young Hong Kong generation, Professor Chong Qingdong call Hong Kong people bastards and dogs of british colonialists, while China is sucking and taking advantage of Hong Kong, screw you.
    Free Hong Kong haha.

    • B

And that song is so catchy..

  • congee1

One of the curious aspects of this whole debate for me is the assumption some people seem to hold that HKers have better ‘manners’, however you define that, than their mainland cousins. Some seemingly delusional commentators here seem to truly believe that HKers, as a rule, never shout or argue savagely in restaurants, push on the MTR, jump queues, spit or pick their nose in public, etc. Sorry to shatter the fallacy but HKers most certainly do engage in those kinds of behaviour as anyone with a passing familiarity with the territory can attest to. In my opinion and observation (having lived in HK for 4 and a half years), it’s more a question of quantity rather than quality that distinguishes HKers from mainland Chinese. Fundamentally, both groups behaviour is part of the same cultural milieu. IMO, that’s what may have made the HK reaction in this instance so strong and vitriolic; no one likes to look in the mirror and see all their ugly aspects in clear relief. Mainlanders are that reflection for many HKers.

I’m also a little baffled by the whole ‘British heritage this’, ‘British culture that’. I don’t think the vast majority of HKers care one iota about Britain and, perhaps surprisingly, despite 150 years of rule, most remain totally ignorant about almost any aspect of British culture or society (including a competent grasp of the basics of the English language). As I understand it, the whole awkward and unconvincing faux identification with British values on the part of some HKers was largely fabricated and cultivated pre-handover as a defense mechanism because of fear about what their cousins to the north would do to them when they had the city under their control again.

    • mr. weiner

Yes, but meet some pretty girl from HK with a posh English accent is always a treat.

    • dim mak

Quantity matters. I’d rather have 1 asshat out of 10 than 1 out of 5. Per average, HKers ARE better mannered than our mainland cousins.

Poor mainlanders are indeed a direct reflection of what HK was like when we were poor. Backwards, hillbilly behavior should be condemned until it stops. Worked for us. What are they being so oversensitive about?

Of course no one gives a shit about Britain, why should we? HK has its own identity. I’ve never known anyone that thought they were anything British. It’s mainlanders who want to associate HK with Britain so they can pull the colonialism card whenever they’re losing an argument.

      • anon

Well, they’re being “oversensitive” just as HKers were when they were being condemned.

I totally see what congee1 points to, and come on, HKers use the British card when it suits them too. The most annoying thing about this whole thing is the level of hypocrisy and self-delusion on both sides. If people could be careful with their words, this would be a non-issue.

        • dim mak

Fair enough, but I seriously don’t know anyone that would willingly associate themselves with British colonialism for any reason. That would be treachery even in the eyes of the most liberal faggot in Hong Kong.

  • Honky Love

Honkies are a funny bunch. It is funny to see these young second generation slaves of the British Masters hating the rich and more successful mainland Chinese. A few observations:

What most British feel about HK:
    FILTH–Failed In London Try Hongkong
    —-enough said about that—-

    Ugly, Deadfish Hongky women:
Most Hongky men crossing into Shenzhen are looking to meet their mainland girlfriends because Hongky girls are too ugly and frigid.

Mainlanders improving the attractiveness of Hongky population:
If Hongky men did not marry attractive Chinese women and have cute babies, all that would be left in HK are the ugly people

    Honkies are the laziest:
Laziest—adjective 1. averse or disinclined to work, activity, or exertion; indolent.
Just look at central on a Sunday afternoon and the helpless Honky families without their maids. How many Honkys know how to do any real work.

    Fake millionairs:
Everyone knows that Honky millionairs (everyone that owns an apartment) depend on mainland Chinese to help make their run down chicken coups woth anything. Better hold your ears, the pop of the bubble is coming

Honkkong is just a mall to the mainland Chinese, the honkies are just the waitstaff and service people. Wthout the mainland Chinese the honkys will still be serving tea to their British masters. We should all remember that.

    • dim mak

      >doesn’t know the real negative stereotypes of HKers
      >make up generic shit

      Mad northerner is mad.

    • mr. weiner

I thought a “honky” was a white person in rather dated 60′s ebonics.
“It is funny to see these young second generation slaves of the British Masters hating the rich and more successful mainland Chinese.”
Plenty of rich people in Hong Kong already, not to mention the folks who’ve made their money recently investing in the mainland. I’d put it to old money [by one or two generations] not liking new money.

    • coala banana

if i would be a honky i would rather prefer the “british master” then the “chinese master”. You had chinese masters for thousands of years, HK was under british rule for just over 100 years. Looking at the results achieved, make your point about how brits might feel kinda worthless. HK is in my opinion one of the best cities in the world to live and every other foreigner i know is impressed by it. Filth ? No way my friend !

Hongky women are cool, you got them all there, from small bitches to nice ladies, most are well educated and open minded. While many HK males like to visit china to have a massage and some sort of quick fuck, or set up a sugar daddy apartment, most would hesitate to actually merry a mainland girl.

HK people lazy ? This folks are some of the hardest working MFs on the planet, still no match for japanese, but they are trying real hard. The competition in HK when applying for a job is huge, one is forced to be educated, its still just a city !

Many HK people get rich decades ago while already dealing with mainland and their cheap labour. many built their wealth on that, but HK is an international recognized market place, I have no worries whats or ever that HK would do less good without mainland shoppers….in fact it would be nice to see less mainlanders there, cause they kinda disturb the overall picture of this great city and its people….

      • Honky Love

How is Hongkong one of the best places to live? Pollution is at an all time high, rent and cost of living is crazy. Don’t even start to argue that it is all coming from China since all those power plants and factories serve Hongkong. Your “every other foreigner” must not get out much or maybe they just like the expensive shops and malls which the mainlanders keep in business.

As for great jobs, are you kidding, most British FILTH are in managment positions watching over your great work force. I bet your boss or his boss at the top is a white guy if you work for a large multinational company that was not started in Hongkong. The honkies get the shit office jobs. Don’t even get me started about jobs outside of Hongkong island. If you are not wearing a suit to work, you probably don’t speak much English or have much education. Honkies are no better than the Chinese, they are just Jealous of mainlanders having more wealth than them without having to live such a stressful life.

Do we really need to talk about Honky women, look at Miss Hongkong and you see where the Miss Porkchop name comes from. You might have exceptions from time to time. Don’t forget that old time Honkys come from the southern parts of China like Guangzhou which are known for being short and unattractive. I am sure you see many of them walking around. Maybe they are not the high end places like IFC but those are not the Hongkong porkchops but rather international women or women whose mothers are attractive mainlanders.

If you actually look where Honky blue collar men are spending their time looking for women you will find that they are all in Shenzhen because in general Honky women are of lower quality than women in Shenzhen and they don’t have shitty attitudes. The good looking Honky women are attracted to the FILTH and the rich Chinese. They don’t want a real Honky man.

Hardworking? Are you kidding? Hardworking is doing your day job and taking care of your family. The Japanese, Koreans, and Taiwanese and not to mention the rest of the modern economies all do fine without importing a million maids from the Philippines and make them work a 6 day workweek like slaves and put them up in shoeboxes. Much easier to talk on the phone or work in front of your computer than to clean up after yourself and take care of your kids and elder parents. Leave the hardwork for someone else, watching TV or reading Chinasmack is much easier.

        • coala banana

all valid points, and i posted from my personal point of view and my experience. I spend most of my time in mainland china, but bought years ago my first apartment in HK and 2 years ago a new one on the mid levels. I like it very much, especially cause rent and living costs much. Isn’t that the point, which makes living worth. The prices got to be high, how else you can keep the bums out and live peacefully ?

I have 3 companies/factories in china which i operate with several HK partners. I have enough of mainlanders on mainland and prefer locations in HK where i don’t have to see them. All my neighbors are mainly good standing HKers, great folks in my opinion, nice, polite and open minded. I don’t know any Brits, so i can’t comment on your point about Brits in management positions. I just deal with HK and mainland people.

HK women? are you kidding, maybe you don’t get enough pussy, but i am in my fuck years and fuck quite a lot. I like them, especially when they have good jobs, are educated, dress well and behave accordingly in public. I eat good, drink good, and fuck good, HK has it all in my opinion. I have all that too when i am on the mainland, but its just not the same.

I think you sound like some sort of looser, maybe shitty job, no GF, not enough money ? however, stop complaining and pissing around, grow yourself some balls and fight for a better life and more pussy !

          • Honky Love

Now you start to sound like a mainland Chinese. Because you have money, all of Hongkong’s best women, food, and housing is for your taking. What are you without your money? Without your money, aren’t you just some loser that that that can’t make it back at home and need to come to HK/China to feel like a better man. Taking advantage of the mainland Chinese and Honkies. I wonder who is the real locust.

By the way, by last count, your 3 companies is about half of my total. Don’t put yourself on such a high horse. You may or may not have an idea what real wealth is. Money comes and goes, treating people with dignity, compassion and understanding is real wealth. Those women fuck you because you have money, don’t kid youself.

All of my comments about Honkies is to make a point that people are all the same with flaws and greatness, they are just in a different point of development. Hongkong is what it is today because it is doorway to China, they should remember that and also the fact that 60 years ago people making these comments had parents and grandparents that were viewed under the same light by the British. The longer these sentiments carry on the further Hongkong moves further back in time. Looking down at people only reveals the smallness within you.

          • coala banana

cool down dude, you don’t even know me. You assume way too much my friend.

I prefer to call myself financially independent, rather then rich. Do i think that HKs best women should all be mine, food and housing ?

I eat and drink good, yes maybe spend someone else’s salary just for that. Should i feel shame that i enjoy some good pussy from time to time and that I keep a nice apartment in an expensive area which i barely visit more then a couple of days every month? I worked for that and paid for it (except the pussy).

Should i also feel guilty that i am successful with the ladies. I go for face value and don’t care about a women’s financial background. Outlook and education is what counts for me. I fuck everything which lets me fuck, its simply as that. I guess that half of the ladies i nail have more money then i have, and i can’t even remember 1 case where money was an issue, not even on the mainland. In fact in most cases it was the other way around, and the girls insist to pay for dinner or taxi. Does that sound like taking advantage ? But i give you that, I DO take advantage from my own outlook and appearance, my cultural flexibility and my sexuality abilities. I am in my fuck years, now already 40 and i am doing well so far, and since i was 15 i am obsessed with women. I love them and they love the banana man…mea culpa my friend, but i can live with that.

How do you know why women fuck with me ? And even IF they would fuck with me just cause of my money, then i wouldn’t have any problem with that either. As long as i can get free pussy i am ok with that.

You seem to have some issues my friend, you talk too much about money and wealth, somehow i doubt that you have either one:-))…hey i too started as a poor sucker, but at least i was good looking and was willing to learn and educated myself. You can’t become the banana man overnight:-)))….honky love ? yeah i had many and love them all. They all (well most of them) come back for more, that shows me that must have done something right ? I love them and they love me back, and which women wouldn’t want to grab a big dick from a good looking bastard ? I can understand them, masturbating about sexual fantasies becomes boring with the time, its up to a man to show them that in every women is at least a small slut, bitch or whore hidden, and that the way i like them…down and dirty in private and ladies in public !

You talk about: “dignity, compassion and understanding” ???

This are common things not worth mentioning, but since you did that, you must either be a male who will always be just some girls best friend, or a lonely female which gets old while waiting for her prince to come along on a white horse ? Either way, you must be boring to hang up with….:-)), don’t take it personal, enjoy your wealth if you have some and fuck from time to time…

        • TraderPaul

Do you know that Honky is an age-old derogatory term for white people? The correct derogatory term for Hong Kong people is “Honger.” That is what we canadians call HK people. So learn your lingo please.

          • Honky Love

Don’t be so North American centric and get offended that people don’t speak your lingo. Honky is often used and I have had a second generation white guy call himself a Honky in reference to being from Hongkong. Do a wiki before you post. I chose the term for its specific purpose, it refers to the redneck backward thinking type people that gets mixed up in ethnic hate speech. Honkies needed to be reminded that they are not the high and mighty people that should be casting a downward eye on anyone else. They forgot where they came from and who they are.

        • dilladonuts

@ Honkylove, finally some words of wisdom.

          • dim mak

This is actually the dumbest and by far the most racist post in the entire thread, not even worthy of serious response. Shows where your sympathies lie, huh?

        • mr. weiner

Taiwanese don’t have maids? next you’ll be telling me Singaporians don’t either. And the Yanks just abhore have latino ladies working for them… Does the Easter bunny ever visit your planet?

          • Honky Love

Of all my point this is what you pick on. Ok, Honkies are tied for the laziest. Ever actually see or heard of a Honky speak of doing housework?

Wait another 20 years banana peel, you will just be another sexual tourist that we all see crossing the border to China, Thailand, Vietnam or whatever country that is impressed by your life savings that is earned on the backs of others. You are the one that started talking about how many companies or apartments you have, your 500 mainland Chinese slaves that you pay 2500/month…so don’t even start talking about who is more focused on money. You need to stop objectifying women and get into a real relationship. Don’t become the old creapy guy at the end of the bar that hungers after women 40 years younger.

As far as your education, don’t get me started, you have no idea. If you are 40 and still writing all this nonsense my guess it is a third rate education at a second rate school, maybe a second rate education at a third rate school.

          • coala banana

keep on guessing motherfucker :-), fact is i will keep on fucking honky love style ! and fact is that you can’t make anything against it ! and who knows in case you are a nice girl with a nice face and clean ass chances are good…….ya you know it yourself !

in 20 years ? i fuck since i was 15, thats already 25 years and still enjoy all the ladies, who cares what is after another 20 years. If i can keep up this pace for 45 years, I wouldn’t give a fuck when my dick would fall off. I had the fun of my life ! Guess in 20 more years i will have to pay for it from time to time, but hey, for what are you for ?Call me again in 20 years in case you want to earn some change for sucking my old cock. But i warn you I like them down and dirty !

          • Honky Love

Banana peel, you need to have higher aspirations than just getting women to sleep with you, remember what I said about being a creepy sex tourist at the end of the bar. You need some serious help and not just for the sex part but for the bigotry, I included a definition at the end for you in case you forgot the meaning. Maybe you, dim duck, and Whitey Pho can get a group discount while they finish their degrees at your second rate alma mater. Maybe I’ll even join your shock therapy sessions.

I have been writing the things I have written to give a sense of what it feels like when people point out all the bigoted things about a certain group (in your case banana peel, my observations are not bigoted but objective views) that is probably true for a certain subgroup but not all. If you have never met a better educated, better traveled, better mannered, better-everthing-than-you mainland Chinese person after living in China and Hong Kong for this long then you guys need to broaden your circle of friends and acquaintances so that you don’t only make yourself feel better by stepping on those that may not have had the same opportunities than you. You are no better than anyone to be saying the shit you have been saying, nor I, just luckier in life to have had the experiences we have had.

A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

  • Chris Devonshire-Ellis

The furor over the Apple Daily ad running a piece describing mainland Chinese as locusts, although derogatory, has some basis. But it’s almost certainly the Hong Kong and Chinese Governments that are to blame. The main problem is purely down to size – Hong Kong is a rather small place, crowded even back in 1992 when it’s population was about 6million. In those days, hearing mandarin spoken was a rarity. Increasingly however, as Hong Kong integrates with the mainland, and mainland tourists become more affluent, a visit to the now reclaimed “Pearl of the Orient” is a must. That’s fair enough, but two main aspects have made Hong Kong unbearably crowded. I for one saw alarming signals when queues started to be formed outside LV, Chanel and Gucci outlets in order to wait to get in the store – a trend that began about three years ago.
Both Hong Kong and Beijing need to make their minds up what Hong Kong’s position is as regards tourism. At present, those queues outside luxury outlets don’t do either Beijing or Hong Kong much good – they are all foreign retailers after all. The queues and hordes of duty free shoppers turn up in Hong Kong because Beijing imposes a luxury tax on those same products in mainland China. Do away with that, and the mainland DFS shoppers to Hong Kong will stop coming. Simple allieviation of Hong Kong’s shopping conjestion right there.
Secondly, its to do with practicalities. Hong Kong is small, and recently it has been getting uncomfortable – fighting one’s way amongst crowds of mainlanders in Tsimshatsui is hardly any fun – and it’s getting to dangerous levels. Hence Apple Daily’s description of “locusts”. It’s also not helped by the medical loophole over right to residency upon being born in Hong Kong – meaning thousands of mainland pregnant women turn up in Hong Kong, using social services paid for by HK residents rather than their own in order to secure their child a residency external from the mainland. Hong Kong subsidizes China in this aspect – again, this is a China policy issue and should be discouraged.
Finally, what is Hong Kong’s role in China? Clearly it is being swamped. A rethink and a repositioning of Hong Kong’s role as part of the PRC is solely needed – and a restruction, financial or otherwise – needs to be placed on the sheer numbers of visitors.
Apple may have been deliberately provocative in naming mainland visitors as tourists. But the over capacity issue is a real problem, and something does need to be done about it.
As for readers here who assume Hong Kong needs mainland tourism; I rather doubt it. After all, it was doing quite nicely before 1997 as well without the mainland as a financial and services center in its own right.

  • wgh999

Mainlanders (not all, but most!) should stop and look at themselves. They are an embarrassment to Chinese and everyone else!

  • dilladonuts

Very simple, 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

Another thing, if you like somebody based on their money, then you’ll have to accept whatever shitty manors they have, because at the end of the day, you want their money, not their friendship.

  • Mike Check

There are many groups of mainlanders in Hong Kong., however, all could be put into two groups, the obnoxious assholes and everybody else. The obnoxious assholes, shouting in their local dialects, barking at waitresses in restaurants, picking their noses and staring at the boogers while wearing heaving black leather jackets with giant fur collars, toting their bags and bags of name brand crap, they deserve to be mocked and ridiculed. Of course Hong Kongers can be put into two groups as well, the dickheads who would sing songs at obnoxious mainlanders in public and those won’t. It’s funny, dickheads singing to assholes.

  • Peter

What’s ironic is those very Hkers most likely roots from the mainland lol

  • JJ

I only lived in Kunming for one year, but I did see a lot of pretty bad ‘social faux pas’ in everyday life (if you get my meaning). I just put it down to cultural differences (I am from the UK), and even though I wouldn’t pick my nose, or let my kid take a dump, in the street, I had to keep telling myself that this was a different culture, and that I would be wrong to judge it by UK cultural standards.
I can see why some HKers might be upset, but what did they think was going to happen when HK reverted back to the PRC? Well, to be honest, a lot of them were scarred sh*tless at the prospect after Tianamen Sq., and scrambled to escape to the UK, Aus, the USA and such. So on balance, I think that they are not experiencing the ‘worst case scenario’. The HKers are getting off lightly.

  • Tommy

Hong Kong is the social experiment which tells me nothing about Chinese culture is inherently flawed. Infact it is quite amazing.

But the Cultural Revolution eschewed manners, education and expertise. The Mainland is still recovering while HK and TW never went through it.

    I can understand the differences.

    • Tommy

      Tells me “that nothing”

  • Glowndark

meh, couldn’t care less. chinese people despise each others, northers despise the south and vice versa, is there anything new? this is why china threatens taiwan, their own kind, rather than acting as a big brother, like UK to US, Australia, Canada kind of relationship. HKers despise mainlanders is like the ape calling a chimp ugly, theyre both ugly.

    • JSakamoto

Can’t you people just say you’re chinese for once, not this hong kongese, shanghainese, taiwanese, cantonese, etc. Nothing wrong with being Taiwanese but it seems like you’re trying to put down other chinese for your own benefit. Trust me, most non-asians around the world really don’t care if your from taiwan, HK, mainland, malaysia, you’re just Chinese to them.

      • donscarletti

Go to Australia some time, walk up to the nearest white person and demand he call himself British. Tell him “nobody in Asia cares what the difference is, you’re ancestors came from Britain, you speak English, the Queen is on your coins, you’re British”. Say that and tell me what orifice you’re told to stick it up, I’d really like to know.

        • JSakamoto

You have a point but I don’t think there is the same hatred amoung the different white ethnic groups as there is among the chinese around the world. I have no way of proving this, just personal observations. Also, at least in the past 200 years, Britain hasn’t been divided and conquered like China has. This a an even more important reason for Chinese to stick together, at least when confronted with an outside threat. It just bothers me when I see this kind of stuff, kind of reminds me of the war against foreign powers in the first half of the 20th century. The different factions in china were so focused on fighting each other, they were too weak to put up much resistence against the real threats.

  • HongKiesguy

Do not get upset with mentally sick people, they are everywhere.

  • JSakamoto

All I can say is this is just bullshit. Yes both sides have their faults and I’ve experienced rude behavior from both peoples but I’ve also met really nice people from both places. To harass people like this without even knowing them personally is just wrong and embarrassing for the people doing the harassing. If the tourists did something objectionable it would be a different story but I don’t see anything in the story that mentions that.

These dumbasses don’t even realize that they’re from the same blood and culture (with small differences) and the rest of the world doesn’t really differentiate between them most of the time. These people are so pathetic it’s unreal.

This is one reason why I believe China will never be a world leader, too immature and incapable of looking at the big picture. Although I do have some chinese friends that I consider intelligent and capable leaders, they are in the small minority of chinese people.

    • dim mak

Stupid. Not a single person in HK or mainland thinks they’re not related by blood and culture. All this pales in comparison to race relations in the US or even Russia, and it hasn’t stopped them, why would it stop China?

I am pro-Asian unity as fuck (even with Japs like you, Sakamoto-san), but that hardly means there aren’t real differences and grievances. And I’ll be damned if we try to cover everything up with Western “tolerance” and “civility” instead of just being frank and bitching each other out like real Asians until things change.

      • JSakamoto

OK I guess I should have rephrased it as “DESPITE knowing they’re closely related by blood and culture, they contiue to fight over petty differences” That’s good to see you are pro-asian (as i am) unity even with japs like me :). I just feel the love from you.

Everything is relative right? What I’m saying is that mainland, HK and taiwanese have much more in common with each other than they do with Africans, Europeans, even other asians so why so much hate between the different chinese groups. Ever heard of the “crabs in the bucket” mentality? Instead of working together you fight amoung yourselves. You’re only bringing yourselves down but most of you can’t even see that. I don’t believe this mentality is as prevalent amoung the developed countries, yes there are rivalries, but not outright hatred. This disappeared for the most part after the second world war. China is still developing and they need every advantage they can get to become a first world country, which i hope they do.

        • dim mak

Well that’s the thing, there isn’t really that much hate. We work together, trade together, and stand together on most things.

This thread is just a concentrated dose of regional grievances. Yes, there are assholes in HK. But mainlanders overreact to anything they feel is different. Not that I blame them, they’re essentially going through societal puberty up there – proud but insecure. They think I’m too treacherous while most HKers find me too nationalistic. What they don’t realize is that eventually a higher GDP per capita will turn them into soft “mature” liberals HK-style, at which point they will turn back and realize they were acting like a bunch of goddamn kids.

          • JSakamoto

Not much hate? OK then what do you call this instance in HK? Animosity, strong dislike? Mainlanders are insecure, I 100% agree with you there. My biggest hope is that their attitude changes. From being insecure, to being genuinely proud and secure of their accomplishments and place in the world and not always feeling inferior to the west and even japan to some extent. You can’t be #1 if you always have an inferiority complex.

          • dim mak

Animosity, sure. But it’s really not a big divide. Compare to race relations in the West, this is peanuts. And you must be the most pro-China Japanese I’ve ever met.

If I may ask, what generation are you and are you mixed?

          • Christina

Oh my, I really don’t know where you stand.

Most of your posts are so rational but then there are a few up there^ that hurl insults at mainlanders and perceived mainlanders like Greg.

          • JSakamoto

@ DM, I’m 3rd generation, my grandparents came over from japan. Pure japanese, but if things keep going the way they are my kids will be mixed with chinese in a few years. I guess Chinese aren’t lynching each other on a regular basis, no skinheads or KKK, no slave trade of africans. OK I see your point.

I guess my background contributes to my seemingly pro-china stance. My girlfriend is from mainland china, as is my best friend, actually the majority of my friends are of some kind of chinese background. We can actually have meaningful, frank discussion about Japan/China relations and the good and bad about each country and people. Also growing up in the US, even in a predominately asian area, I realize that in the west all asians are many times grouped together whether we like it or not. I just look at the big picture. In the long run I believe a stronger china will be good for all asian people. If anything to break up western hegemony around the world.

  • L’Emperor

Chinese mainlanders have simply no manners, disregard local culture and just because they have grown rich from Western Investments, they think they are superior than them. They go to other countries and they shame themselves but still think it is normal. Shame.

    • White Phosphorus

      I 100% AGREE!

    • TraderPaul

When large numbers of wealthy immigrants started arriving from HK in the late 80s and early 90s, all the CBC kids wanted to emulate them. They were respectable. It was suddenly cool to speak cantonese, and go to canto-pop concerts. However, I can’t say the same thing about the recent wave of immigrants from the mainland. They are just as rich as the HK immigrants, but with few exceptions, they just don’t have anywhere near the same level of class. They behave pretty much like farmers who just won the lottery.

      • White Phosphorus

        How right you are!

  • donscarletti

OK, probably my last comment on this thread. I just want to point out something.

Now, we all know Hong Kong men are handsome and stylish. However, look at the picture of that ugly, squinty eyed, bent nose, pockmarked motherfucker in the cheap green hoodie singing that song.

Now, the mainland man on the ground should keep his finger away from his face if he wants to look intellectual, but in general his haircut is OK, his jacket is not designer, but it at least looks a bit more classic, the mainland guy next to him is wearing black Oxford shoes with his black slacks, unlike the Hong Kong guy wearing white trainers with black jeans.

These guys are not the stylish Hong Kong people that anyone admires, they are people who could not be distinguished with a Zhengzhou street vendor in any way other than their HK ID card and are scared as hell of losing their birthright.

    • coala banana

      :-))

scarlatti, one of my favorite composers, great sonatas….i doubt that you had him in mind when choosing a synonym ?

however, bent noses are signs of beauty in china and HK. I too don’t understand why, but its true, i had ones visit from france a business partner with a huge hooked nose. The girls went crazy when seeing him. Ok he was good looking too, but what a huge nose and success with the ladies ! I think big ears and noses are seen as signs of wealth, while in western culture they mean that the person could have a huge cock, looking at it from this angle, it could too be described as some sort of wealth….

Regarding the song itself, I don’t give a fuck, I would rather watch them fight their anger out….

      • donscarletti

While I knew about Domenico Scarlatti when I picked my name (my grandparents were music teachers), he isn’t my namesake. Just I previously went by the name “Scarlet”, but I was too often mistaken for a woman and wanted to butch up my name with some macho Italian styling.

  • RY

I can sense the frustration of hk people as can I sense the bewilderment of mainlanders coming to hk. The lack of etiquette shown from mainlanders is a problem of education and habitual tendencies and this falls on the governance of people. Hong Kong with its 1st Rule of Law has paved a road that allows mainlanders to utilize resources that are totally inept at dealing with the quantities we are seeing now – if you open a new road aren’t you going to see people take advantage of this new route???? A problem of regulation it seems; something for the the HK government to sort out. The saying “When In Rome” seems appropriate not just for this instance but for every tourist visiting a different region, country. “Manners” is another issue.

What this boils down to is education, educaion, and education. Collaborations from both governments is a necessity but for fast results at street level requires the participation of hk people.

HK people if you are proud of the social standards you have built up over 100 years and you want to keep it this way then may I offer this suggestion. If you see mainlanders sitting in undesignated areas kindly speak to them (educate) that this is not allowed; if you see parents allowing their children to shit or piss on the street, refuge bin kindly speak to them (educate) that this is not allowed. When I mean speak I don’t mean ‘to scold them’. Through this action by hk citizens, mainlanders will be educated at a faster level as to the requirements of social etiquette in hong kong.

You may ask why as a HK citizen should I go out of my way to educate someone who I don’t give a shit about? By ignoring this, by not speaking out, by not educating, you are contributing to the continued situation. Why not take a pro active role and educate mainlanders so that assimulation of etiquette becomes a habitual habit when they visit hong kong. I’m sure that everytime they sit in an undesiganted area clogging up walkways and everyone walking pass has a quiet word with them they will soon get the message!!!!

So don”t ignore and say nothing and let your anger and blood pressure build up. Adopt a pro active approach, educate not scold and the sooner mainlanders through ‘word of mouth’ will understand the social etiquette requirements when visiting hong kong. The governments needs to play their role too.

    • White Phosphorus

that’s like trying to educate pigs to not shit and piss everywhere. its impossible and besides, mainlanders like shitting and pissing everywhere and then rolling around in it. hygiene aint gonna stop them!

      • E Puff

So you go so far as to call mainlanders animals because you feel they are absent a few manners? To even make such a comment puts you even further beneath them. The problem people like you have at the deepest core, is that mainlanders remind you far too much of where you came from and what you truly are — Chinese. Being from Hong Kong has allowed you to feel a closer to something you wish you were, which is white. They are a constant reminder and that’s the core of your hatred and self hatred. The way you speak of these people , as an outsider, kind of pisses me off.

Even though looking at you, you are an attractive young woman, the more you speak this way, the uglier you become. We have an expression – “Ugly on the inside, ugly on the outside” . A beautiful person can render themselves ugly by spewing ugly things out of their mouths. Don’t be that person. You have more opportunities than your mainland brothers, simply by virtue of something you couldn’t control, which is where you were born and hit the lucky sperm jackpot. There was nothing special to separate you and them other than a few more civil liberties. If you people in HK continue on this way, I don’t see how that will continue much longer when you are brought down to size.

        • White Phosphorus

          I sure did!

          • E Puff

Well, I guess the hearts of some people cannot be changed. Good luck in life.

        • coala banana

Puffy, do us all a favor and keep your comment to yourself, you never been to china and the only experience with chinese people are kung fu movies. Why not make your own experiences first before you jump on people which just point out their own experiences, you know experiences ! I am sure that in your kung fu movies you will not see people letting their children piss and shit right on the walkway. Its easy to talk the talk, when no one is shitting right in front of your house in the US. Comparing animals with humans ? Humans are animals BTW ! some evolved, like most HK people and some are still more pig like, like many mainlanders. Sorry but thats my experience, and i mind you that the ones which can afford to come to HK are the ones which have at least some money and manners, so you can imagine how it looks like on the mainland.

I agree with WP,its impossible to educate MOST of them, cause they don’t feel that anything is wrong with their behavior, they just don’t give a shit, thats fact. Its like trying to educate a bunch of Gypsies, I don’t know of any society which was able to do so. Fuck, I am half jewish and hate to use german concentration camps as an example, BUT what you think that when even the ruthless Nazis had no success with socializing them, what makes you think that a few nice words of rationalism and etiquette could make a difference. Get it humans are nothing else then evolved animals and evolution works slow, and in some cases it works much slower then elsewhere. And it works even slower when the animal don’t like to be socialized and don’t give a shit about your good intentions and wisdom. Like WP said, pigs do what pigs do. Ok a mainlander is no longer rolling in his own shit, but that the only difference i see. Many chinese i met say the same about their own countrymen and that is that “most are like pigs, the only difference is this pigs here are wearing clothes” (not my words, this are opinions from other chinese !!!, which i agree with BTW)

You plan to come to china ? come and make your own experience first, i am sure you will one or the other as a black american ! even you stick just to the tourist routs (which i would recommend you), you will see enough to have a rough picture about how it really looks like aside from that. And then you can “try” to imagine how it is to deal with that every day ! HK people has it good, the true scam is still on the mainland ! On the tourist routs you will just deal with negroes, aside from this routes you will encounter more niggers if you know what i mean….

          • White Phosphorus

            ok coala…

            1) your comments are extremely long…lol

            2) i have stopped taking drinks of water while reading your comments!!

            3) the kung fu part is just hilarious

            thanks for making my day!!!

          • E Puff

No, I don’t know what you mean.

      • RY

Your so funny. I cant help but laugh and at the same time realise the divide that clearly exists. But I still stand on my opinion that education is the key. You can’t expect people who lack education, who have learnt and adopted habits that have been passed down from generations who simply do not meet our standards of etiquette to all of a sudden adopt habits alien to them without someone informing them that these practices are inapproriate.

Nor is it right that hkongers who see these problems just sit on their hands and do nothing but criticise and hope someone else steps in and resolves the problems. Mainlanders have pissed me off so many times but hkongers are not perfect neither. many times I have walked through shopping centres and seen hkongers hold dooors open for caucasians but blantantly ignore other fellow hkongers, but back to the subject.

As mentioned before a pro active approach is requried by hk ongers- its no use seeing the problems and letting things continue without stepping in and educating no matter how inferior nor how f***ing annoying it can be. The possiblities are that they may ignore you but if for example 30 hkongers in a row educate I am sure mainlanders will get the message!!!!!!

Last year when I visited hk on holiday I was queing up for fast food in a long line in mongkok when mainlanders decided to join the que infront of me instead of joing the back of the que. I used a rather loud voice and some overseas cantonese to imply the inappropriateness of their actions and they sheepishly went to the back of the que.

The message I am trying to get through is that if hkongers don’t have a voice (educate not scold) and allow mainlanders to continue with their inappropriate habits then hkongers will get frustrated and annoyed putting more pressure on thier daily lives.
Hkongers you need to speak out and educate no matter how frustrating it is to you. this is the fastest route for mainlanders to understand their behaviours are frowned upon and not tollerated and that they need to adopt new habits when visiting hk.

  • dan danger

I don’t think Hong Kongers have an issue with mainlanders buying yet more pirated products, I think the problem are things like mainlanders cutting line, spitting in restaurants and letting their bratty kids piss and shit on the sidewalks, like they allow them to do here.

  • AmLaoWei

As a foreigner that has lived in the mainland and HK I can say without reservation that Hong Kong people are much more sophisticated and and polite than mainlanders. Mainlanders are rude, untrustworthy and have no concept of public garbage cans.

The food is poison and the Communist Party is the most corrupt government on Earth.

I plan on living in HK for the rest of my as a contributing member of it’s society and will fight the locust invasion in any way I can.

    God bless HK.

    • mystery_man

Laowai having any say in Hong Kong? Nope.

  • anon

Christ, so much of this thread is a fucking embarrassment to humanity. chinaSMACK: Mission Accomplished.

    • dim mak

      Calm your tits bro.

I don’t hate mainlanders at all, I just like butting heads. I’ll vouch that HKers don’t hate the mainland half as much as this thread/incident makes it seem, the number of Christina Chan-esque faggots are like 0.00001%. Overall resentment is really more like apprehension than outright condescension.

Can the same be said of the mainland? I dunno, you guys tell me.

Either way shit explodes every once in a while, and I think it’s healthy to let it all out :)

    • coala banana

no, what is fucking embarrassing is mainlands people behaviors. The comments on this forum are just the reaction to that ! Thats how people talk when the shit hits the fan !

I bought myself a nice and big apartment on the mid levels and i wouldn’t want to see some of this bastards pee and shit right in front of our building or on our streets, or garbage floating around cause they are too lazy to use garbage boxes. Buy babies fucking pampas instead of holding them down to shit right on the street. Do this shit on the mainland where no one gives a fuck, but this is HK, where people have developed civilized manners and contribute to society, and pay a small fortune to prevent this crap happening in front of them. This fucking breed come over to give birth and disappear once they give them the birth certificate, without paying ! Fuck em !

Embarrassment to humanity my ass, blame the protesters but defend the ones which caused the outrage ? Liberal motherfuckers, as long as its not in front of your doorstep, right ? When the bad smell finally reachers your habitat, then you ask “why we didn’t see that coming ?” I must spend a fortune just to live peacefully and in a clean environment, and even that will be threatened on day by the legions of mainlanders which invades us every day !

  • The Enlightened One

You know, I used to think highly of people from Hong Kong. I mean they seemed very civilized and cultured when I visited, especially in contrast to the mainland.

However, people like Dim Mak and this post have shown me that this may be far from the case. Being Canadian, I always thought of the quiet, shy Chinese immigrant kid in class as an addition to our society. It taught me tolerance and an open mind.

After coming to China, I have been bathed in hatred of all kinds and kindness… but man something about your culture or society REALLY teaches you to hate… whether it is Japan, Mainlanders, Wai Di Ren, foreigners or yourselves… not cool.

Btw Dim Mak, next time I am in HK (if that is where you are). I hope you talk that trash about my country in a local club or bar within my ear shot. My 230 lbs of pure muscle vs. your girly frail southern Chinese self.

Sometimes, you just got to punch them in the face.

    • dim mak

      HAHA OH WOW

This faggot is EXACTLY why Canada is worthy of ZERO respect.

I’ve generated FAR more GDP for Canada, propelled more Canadian teams in international competitions, been a greater addition to this society and defended more nationalistically this country more than any average white Canadian.

What do I get in return? Shitheads like Unenlightened One telling me being too competitive and patriotic is “Un-Canadian”. Try that attitude ANYWHERE in China and the locals will drown you in spit.

HKers keep a low profile, sympathize with Western values and try to be Canadian, then faggy white kids shit all over us. The average mainlander doesn’t even try, they just pay lip service to liberals for self interest issues while staying Chinese nationalists inside. But no, we get all the flak so dumbshit here can threaten online anyone who tells it like it is with violence. Am I supposed to love you now?

I live in Vancouver, bro. If you would care to assault me or even threaten me in real life, I will use all those fancy Canadian laws and PC buzzwords to drown your family in legal fees and put you away for several years. Welcome to the modern world, bitch.

      • White Phosphorus

ROFLL i near spit out my drink…awesome comeback!

        • Glowndark

i still believe that the majority of Hongkonger, people with better income and education than the mainlanders, have positive attitudes and good nature toward others. but you, white phosphorus, judging from your name and comments, youre a f*cking white whore wanna be! you and dim mak are no better than the hateful moslems faggots i meet here everyday, and that ‘mono-lid’ you brought up, you really disgust me as a chinese person! all you cunt’onese have 2 eyelids? while i still like most HKers, but you Miss white whorephorus, if you come anywhere near me, i swear i’ll swallow all foods with nasty odors and collect my pile of shit in a plastic bag and explode it right in your face! yes, i know mainlanders have bad attitudes for a fact, but i would never disgrace my own kind to the level you demonstrated.

      • The Enlightened One

Listen, keyboard warrior… I am very competitive having a past in the military and sports and I don’t mind people who are patriotic. I prefer it.

So your stereotype doesn’t fit me, but it looks like my comments fit you very well and your cum guzzling girlfriend.

“I almost spit out my drink…” Well better you swallow his load than produce offspring… let me tell you.

And I would get away beating your ass because I know people.

See I like guys like you in a way. Just because you are unhappy with life you go around insulting or berating others and feel cool about it. You hide on the internet cause you know aren’t much in real life, you’re pathetic. I like you because you are one of those few people I can really smack around and not feel bad because I am doing you and the rest of society a great favor.

Once you see me in real life the only sound you will make is either your footsteps or you face pounding the pavement.

Be critical but respectful kid. If there are other Canadians telling you to not be competitive or patriotic at all, you hang out with the wrong people.

        • dim mak

Then you can be the first to tell your brethren they’re being worthless pussies. Adopt Chinese-style nationalism, and Asian immigrants will respect you.

Unhappy? Pathetic? Sounds like you’re talking about yourself. See, the average Chinese-Canadian have good educations, good careers, aren’t abject failures desperate enough to join the military, and probably make more than your entire family put together. I bet I see more profit returns in a week of doing nothing than you do in an entire month of work.

Is that why you threaten to beat people up on the internet, then turn around and call others keyboard warriors? Is it the inferiority complex?

How does it feel when short, girly me sits home raking it in with minimal work while Harper sends fucks like you to die in Afghanistan so he can suck more American dick?

Threatening to assault poor, defenseless minorities and boasting about how you can get away with it would look real good in Canadian courts, bro. Feel free to give it a shot.

          • DRaY

Is this money you make from a business you created with your dad’s money??

          • dim mak

Partially, yes. And when I’m old I’ll leave a sum for my kids to start their own. What’s the problem?

          • The Enlightened One

What makes you think I care if Chinese people similar to you in character respect me or my country? Are you kidding?

Would you care if a bunch of frail, grotesque vermin respected you?

I understand you are a troll and do this for entertainment.

Listen my thin, feminine, yellow friend. I am now self-employed and do contract work with huge companies you HAVE heard about since you are Asian after all. Asians love their video games after all.

My family is a conglomerate of lawyers (government), oil tycoons, landlords, engineers and recording artists. My IQ, my appearance, my creativity trump you in all walks of life and you talk about how we can respect you? Why did you even come to Canada? Why do you hate them so? Maybe because you keep losing your bitch to a white boy? Like White Phosphorus over there?

Get off the keyboard, stop playing with your dick and DDR… go to the gym and learn to defend yourself and your girl.

Real men don’t fear a good fight, I would prefer it to being mildly entertained by your mindless and hate spewed blather. Wouldn’t you? So let’s have at it, what say you?

          • dim mak

If you don’t care what Chinese immigrants think of you then why are you posting? That’s what I thought.

            >self employed
            >Video game industry
            >Thinks he’s successful
            LOL

Am I supposed to believe someone from a family of “lawyers (government), oil tycoons, landlords, engineers and recording artists” was desperate enough to join the military, brag about what he looks like on the internet, claims to have high IQ when he’s not even smart enough to come up with a convincing lie? Take that and match it with the easily provable statistic that Asians are the race with the highest average income and place your bets on who’s making shit up.

I’ve made it a point to say repeatedly that I don’t hate mainlanders, while you’ve called people yellow vermin. How come?

PS: I’ll wager good money I’ve fucked more white chicks than you have Asian chicks. You can have your muscles, your “careers”, and you shitty nativist attitude – because we’ve already won.

          • The Enlightened One

Because I find people like you that live in places you hate amusing and so very sad and pathetic. But now you are boring me, like idiots tend to do, which is why I prefer to knock them out.

Are you claiming that the entertainment industry (video games included) does not have a huge market? Are you mentally ill?

It’s bilions chan, billions of dollars.

You have proven your illiteracy and misunderstanding as I made the relation that vermin were Chinese people similar to you in character… not all Chinese people.

I called you yellow because you were scared to back up your words with your actions. I guess someone is stuck on racial barriers, yes?

Most people don’t join the army out of desperation, you insufferable bastard. They join for a damn good challenge and to learn the cool shit they don’t teach dick-wads like you in school.

Who is we? You are one person… one lonely guy that sounds like he pays for sex. I am not challenging a nation, nor a city… I am challenging you… and only you.

P.S. – You sound like a shallow… hollow husk of a person. You judge people who how many chicks they have banged, how much money they make… or if they are sissy pussies as you put it.

If you are so tough, then why are you so weak?

          • dim mak

Ah yes, I’m sure you’d prefer the shy, quiet Chinese boy ready to submit to white-controlled status quo.

Why keep posting if you’re not so intimidated by people like me? We will rise to positions of wealth and political power, and we will use it to our advantage, whiteboy. Ironically the mainlanders you defend are much more likely push their political interests, while most HKers just suck it up and blend in with the locals. Even politicians like Raymond Chan (HK immigrant) pushed token Asian interests at most. Maybe we should be more aggressive like the mainlanders. And you really think twisting the semantics of “yellow” will make you look any less racist? Too late.

Who’s making impotent threats and personal attacks on the internet? Read your own posts. For someone so “strong”, you sure sound insecure. A “shallow, hollow husk of a person…” describes you perfectly. Guilty conscience?

But go ahead, pretend it’s just me. Pretend there aren’t a whole demographic of people like me. Your tolerance only goes far enough to tolerate people who fit within your ideals. Deep inside you are scared shitless of this trend, that’s why you lash out on the internet while telling yourself it’s not true.

Guess what? We’re not going anywhere. More mainlanders pour into Canada every year, many are nationalistic young men who make me look gentle by comparison. I’ve already decided to join them in mind and spirit. You?

            >be a cog in industry
            >thinks that makes him wealthy by proxy

            >can’t refute that military is made of poor, bottom of the barrel people
            >pretends to be rare, altruistic exception
            >thinks anyone believes him after obviously exaggerated lies about personal credentials

If all canucks are this stupid, this country is in dire need of mass Chinese immigration.

          • The Enlightened One

I am bored with this topic so this will be my last post in relation to it.

I befriended and protected some quiet, shy but intelligent Chinese (TW, HK, Mainland) kids in school from the dumb, egotistical, self-righteous jocks (usually white or native kids). Why?

Because I felt that is not how you treat guests in your country because the ones I knew were respectful and kept to themselves.

Should I have left them to be bullied and beaten on a daily basis?

Perhaps if it were you? Maybe you were and that is why you are so angry?

Anyway, debating with someone on the internet can be amusing and interesting for a short period of time. But it you can never really win a debate over the internet.

You do know that, don’t you?

          • dim mak

Unless you seriously think China is the defenseless nerd and HK is the big bad bully, I don’t see what that has to do with this. I’ve defended white people in justifiable situations before and all I got was people calling me “traitor” and “whitewashed”. Some voices were even ungrateful whites themselves. Where’s my sympathy?

That’s alright, I don’t need any because I know better now.

            Discussion over? Fine by me.

  • dawei

How am I supposed to know which ones in that picture are from the Mainland and which are from Hong Kong?

They all look same to me.

    • DRaY

hahahahaha….. Never argue with fools because from a distance people can’t tell who is who…. Ugly look for the HK people.

      • dawei

No, I mean, literally: They look the same. Because they ARE the same.

天下烏鴉一樣黑 All crows in the world are black.

Watching mainlanders and HKers and Taiwanese (and Japs and Koreans) argue over cultural superiority is comical. The only relevant point is that, in time, China will dominate Asia the same way that the US dominated the West. The locusts will win.

“And nothing of value was lost.”

        • DRaY

That’s what i mean…. they just look like fools… Chinese /Hk/ all the same shit at the end of the day… Just get over it. Put more cops on the streets to stop the littering and kids shitting on the sidewalks, or ban Chinese people from going there… complaining on the internet like you guys are, seems silly. …. I guess this is why I don’t like HK people. Buncha pretentious dicks. I’s sure Hk needs China more than China needs HK. Be careful!!!

  • typingfromwork

Really? Racist, xenophobic chants being made out in the open and there are people who defend this kind of shit? Way to show the world how much more “civilised” you are, HKers. Truely a beacon of tolerance and sophistication. This is the kind of society Martin Luther King was aluding to when he proclaimed “I have a dream”.

You think bullying a few mainlanders make you look tough, eh? How naive. The Brits used to think you were a warren of inscrutable vermin when they ruled your land. Guess things haven’t improved much in all these years.

  • handsomeMan

wow, i can’t stand ill-mannered mainlanders, but to view being colonized by whitey as even better… geez these HKer’s are total h0m0s!

  • Anonymoose

    Kong Qingdong was right!

  • KEN

  • Hawkeye4077

I think it’s very sad that even though we as human beings have seemingly achieved so much but fall way back where it matters. Treat people how you want to be treated at all times! You know right from wrong. You have a conscience. There is NO EXCUSE for being mean to people you don’t even know! Your successes are an ash heap and you are dead inside! Shame on you all!!

  • KEN

And also a guy up there saying u guys are good in numbers? Well look my friend u still have to run a long way to hk? why dont you use your “numbers” do somthing with it ?Support your city little bit more maybe~hire your own doctors~Maybe this is y u guys coming over,Good in Hardware but Bad in Software? laughable? i know u guys have alot of big beautiful hospital~ Lmao smart~!

  • 平凡人

    Something to note:
Not all mainlander Chinese goes to Hong Kong are ill-mannered and flaunt their wealth around.
Not all Hong Kongers hate mainlan Chinese and not all of them agree with what those fools are doing.
    To all voiced their hatred and the need for vengeance, I feel sorry for you and I think you should think rationally. This is a famous poem to you all;
    煮豆持作羹,漉菽以为汁。
    萁在釜下燃,豆在釜中泣。
    本自同根生,相煎何太急?

  • John Terry’s big mouth

Ha! What comes around, goes around!! Those who were in Hong Kong back in 97 would remember the smug twits claiming to have given us Brits the kick on the backside and embracing the motherland. And now, we get them all nostalgic of the glorious days back when it was a colony of Great Britain. You got what you wished for!!!

I mean FUCK CHINA arlgight. FUCK THAT PLACE.

BUT HONG KONG? WHAT THE FUCK. HONG KONG IS REALLY JUST A PIECE OF SHIT “international” city. Nothing special about that place whatsoever. Full of pieces of shits who think they’re the king when they live in 30 million dollar rabbit cages. Fuck them.

    • coala banana

i paid around the same for mine and it doesn’t look like rabbit cage. Its quite luxurious in my opinion, even for HK standards. My HK business partners paid 50-60 millions for their homes at Causaway Bay, sure the ocean views are nice, but i wouldn’t want to trade with them. They both told me that they fuck their Philipino maids from time to time, when the wires is out of the house. HK guys are nasty when it comes to pussy….
