Taiwan Coast Guard May Open Fire if Japan Arrests Fishermen

From NetEase:

Taiwan Coast Guard: If Japan arrests fishermen, Taiwanese naval escort ships may open fire

In connection with the recent largest-in-history people’s protest for the protection of the Diaoyu Islands, Taiwan’s “Coast Guard” has dispatched over 10 naval ships in escort, including 100 ton, 500 ton, 1000 ton, and 2000 ton warships as well as established an emergency contingency center and command headquarters, to protect the fishing vessels.

With regards to the people protesting for the protection of the Diaoyu Islands, Taiwanese authorities have also given approval and support. Ma Ying-jeou expressed on the 24th that Taiwanese fishermen have been catching fish in the waters around the Diaoyu Islands for hundreds of years but now often suffer interference from Japan’s Coast Guard, which makes the fishermen extremely angry. He said, “If this problem can’t be resolved, it may also be very difficult to sit down and discuss other issues”. The Ma Administration emphasized on the 24th that the Yilan fishermen heading towards the waters of the Diaoyu Islands were sailing out on “legal/lawful” fishing operations and that the “Coast Guard” would definitely protect them, also dispatching multiple warships to escort them.

“Coast Guard Director” Wang Jinwang said on the 24th in regards to the Yilan fishermen heading to the Diaoyu Islands waters that officials have already communicated to Japanese officials, informing them that it is to defend the “sovereignty” of the Diaoyu Islands, fishermen spontaneously protecting fishermen, calling on the Japanese side to not interfere or provoke, and that the “Coast Guard” will accompany the fishermen throughout the entire journey.

Wang Jinwang expressed that if Japan attempts to expel and remove, the Taiwanese side will not hesitate to respond. “If they use water cannons, we’ll also use water cannons, handling the situation in accordance with the principle of not evading, not provoking, and not conflicting.” If Taiwan fishermen want to go on the island, a special forces team will also first board the fishing vessel and protect the fishermen, stopping any Japanese ships, absolutely not allowing the Japanese side to arrest Taiwan fishermen. He indicated that if the Japanese side were to arrest any fishermen, the Taiwanese side would not rule out opening fire.

Protecting the fishermen other than the “Coast Guard”, the Taiwanese military will also be on standby to provide support. “Defense Minister” Kao Hua-Chu indicated that protecting the fishermen was the “Coast Guard’s” responsibility, but Taiwan’s navy warships and air force are all awaiting orders, to support the “Coast Guard’s” mission in protecting the fishermen. The navy and air force have already expanded its maritime surveillance area, and the air force also is patrolling its largest reconnaissance area, using its E-2K air early warning aircraft system to monitor the situation.

Kao Hua-Chu emphasized that the Taiwanese Navy’s routine surveillance vessales have already gradually approached the area near the Diaoyu Islands, with the closest point being 123 degrees longitude east, enough to support the Coast Guard department’s fishermen escort operation at any time. Moreover, according to Kao Hua-Chu, Taiwanese naval warships are already close to the “air defense identification line” demarcated by the Japanese.

Uh oh. I have a bad feeling about where this situation is headed.

While peace is ALWAYS preferable to war and hostility, I can’t wait all the sides to start fighting and finally backing up their barking with some biting. Guess I’m just tired of people talking big and never doing anything here.

    • the ace of books

      Yes. Unfortunately.

    • Rob

On the contrary, this is good shit. If PRC was involved, the US would run around defending Japan. With Taiwan involved, the US ain’t gonna do shit, and it can become a joint action with Taiwan and the PRC.

      • JT

Give it 50 years or so, but by then the PRC might be quite a different place… in ways some won’t know I’m suggesting.

    • Canadian_Skies

I think it’s adorable that Taiwan (not mainland China) claims to be defending Taiwan territory. Nobody noticed?

      • Snicker

Taiwan “claims” to be “defending” Taiwan “territory”. Get your “”‘s right, buddy.

I’m not Taiwanese but LOL obviously Taiwan is much more darling than the Chi mainland.

    • Slant Eyes

Taiwan vs. Japan.. Japan will kick some butt.. Taiwan is going to beg for help from china.. who will then take over taiwan.. Instead of chinese begging for money fromm taiwanese.. it will be the reverse in the near future.. Most taiwanese left to go work in…..shanghai.. Taiwan sucks..not even a nice island.. dirty, smelly, and old…

    • Alice S

Usually when a war nobody saw it coming. When did the Diaoyu Island incident start? Well, anyhow, between when it started and now, the Sabah War happened, the Koreas are threatening… but the Battle of Diaoyu Islands has not started (not saying it won’t). Hmm… everyone thinks there’s going to be a war… Can ALL THIS EXPECTING cause seriously inaccurate rumours spreading? I am saying this because I am in New Zealand, there is this Chi TV channel… There was this talkback show. This is a real story. A female caller called and said that Chi & Japps have started shooting at each other… oh how I felt at that point you can imagine. My mother was like YAH AN OPPOTUNITY HAS ARISEN TO KILL little Japs. There were 2 hosts, 1 male, Taiwanese & 1 female. What was their reaction? Probably negative. The guy said, ‘Where did you get this info? The internet is not very reliable.’ His suspicions that none of it happened did not influence me. I seriously thought conflict had broken out. The next chance I got, I went & read the news. No news. But now I am pretending that war has already broken out to prepare for when it really does. God help us.

What is the “Coast Guard” quotes?

    • Bo Xilai For Emperor

Because wimpy-ass PRC thinks “Taiwan” doesn’t exist as Republic of China, so any symbol that represents the presence of another “Chinese” gov’t is to be silenced big time with “quotation marks” LOL

    • Chunghwa

It’s so the news article doesn’t get “river crabbed”

do you “understand” what I am “saying”?

  • I’m cheering for Taiwan in all of this. I love underdog teams.

    • linette

They won’t be underdog if China gov’t join them. Then USA will butt in. And I know most Hong kong people support taiwan all the way.

      • moop

they’d still be the underdog because the US would destroy china with its airforce alone. taiwan and china should stay out of japan’s territorial waters, the senkakus are theirs in every respect. you think chiang kaishek signed an agreement without knowing the details? do you think that for the 20-odd years after japanese surrender that every official in taiwan and the prc were just too busy to lay their claims until the discovery of oil? as for the agreement, why would the US occupy the islands when the agreement clearly states that the US would only occupy Japanese territory for an unspecified period and that territory belonging to china would be returned (taiwan was one of those territories). so you think the roc signed this deal without knowing the details and which territories were to be included?

        • linette

moop….blablabla..whatever. YOu say it’s black and I say it’s white. but one thing for sure the Japanese coast guards are attacking the taiwanese fishermen right in the water of taiwan’s backyard. That will definitely lead to conflict.

          • mr. wiener

Taiwan will NOT go to war with Japan. This is just letting the hotheads blow off some steam until someone gets killed. Then everyone gets an attack of the willies, backs down and starts talking.
Jaw, jaw is better than war, war.

          • moop

they’re not attacking them. they havent even arrested them yet. two boats were shooting water at eachother

          • They’re just playing and if you look closely, you’ll see the two coast guard ships are crewed by big booty hos in bikinis, dancing in the water spray. It’s all for fun. China just doesn’t know how to have fun so they’re screaming about it.

        • Chunghwa

moop, I’m quite the weeaboo faggot myself, but sometimes I get the feeling that you’re one of those right-wing hawks that has to oppose China for every single reason.

God damn. Just relax and watch the show. No need to get a vaginal aneurism.

          • mr. wiener

            “vaginal aneurism” LOL classic.

          • moop

i’m not right-wing at all. how many right-wingers do you know that support legalization of drugs, prostitution, and gay marriage? have you read the agreements i am referring to? am i wrong? my response to linette was fairly tame, not insults or coarse language. and yeah, i do oppose the ccp in pretty much everything it does because they are wrong about pretty much everything they do. would you like to give me an area where they are doing the right thing or a good job?

          • James

I am with moop on this one. He did the research (as everyone should). You can’t say it’s black or white. As a westerner, you have the ability to find out every detail, and you should do just that before claiming to have an opinion on the matter. It really would be foolish for any western educated, able to use the internet, fairly intelligent person to side with the PRC on this issue.

anyway, here is to peaceful negotiations. Im not ready to go home yet.

          • linette

Jame…I am not arguing about this topic again. I did that in the other post. I’ve already stated my opinions on this topic. It’s sounding like a broken record arguing back and forth. We have our history recorded in one way. You have your history recorded in another way. But with my common sense telling me diaoyu is right next to Taiwan and China. IT’s no where near Japan mainland. The japs have to travel far to come to diaoyu. So most likely thru out the history Chinese was using it. It is the iron fact that Japs coast guards are attacking taiwanese fishermen in the water close to taiwan and china. This is where the problem lies. Japan is too close. Please go home back to mainland Japan.

          • linette

jame… and 50 yrs from now…japan will have it in their history book saying the taiwanese fishermen are constantly breaking the rules fishing in their water causing conflict. And chinese history book will say Japan coast guards are attacking chinese fishermen in their water. So you say it’s black. I say it’s white.

          • spoonbeam

Sorry Linnette, but if you look at any map; Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese or Western you will see that the nearest land to the disputed islands are undisputed Japanese islands to the south. Admittedly they are not far from Taiwan, but they are closer to Taiwan than the disputed islands and are recognised as being Japanese. So that part of your arguement does not hold.
Also, I think James was making the point that comparitively, the West preserves its past (heritage, culture, documentation, art etc) a lot more than China does, a generalisation yes, there are exeptions to everything, but on the whole this holds true. Whereas China has a tendancy to destroy its past and rewrite it for its own benefit / saving face, or whatever reason, the West has many sources of information and documentation which can be read, interpreted, debated, scrutinised and the researcher make his own decision. In China there are not the resources nor the will to do this and even if there were, it would not be encouraged for a very deliberate reason. This unfortunately (for Chinese more than anyone) makes a lot of Chinese arguments less viable and believable and so is rather a catch 22 for Chinese.
That aside, you discredited your own argument by essentially saying ‘the facts and evidence dont matter anyway because of the location of the islands.. they must have been used by Chinese, not Japanese’. Absolute argument fail.
I have noticed that too often when Chinese are having a debate and are backed into a corner, the logic leaves the debate and it turns into ‘the evidence doesn’t matter anyway, I know this is right’. It does nothing but show the person as ignorant of logic and constructive debate and is why a lot of Westerners jump to the label of ‘brainwashed’ for Chinese. I know very little about the island dispute and admit to not knowing enough about the history to make my own decision on which side I think is correct, but I have to say Moop (altho often gives me the impression of just being racist against Chinese) actually made a good argument backed up with some suggested facts, whereas your argument did not make much sense at all.

          • Quartz

linette: I understand your point. That’s why I’d like to hear your stance on the territorial disputes of South China Sea. There China uses the same rhetoric as with Senkaku/Diaoyu, but the islands concerned are right next to other countries, and very far from China.

        • wacky

but at the same time as the anti US emerge all over the world and US and western economy both are in bad condition, this is the right time to wage a new war and empty US treasure, you know that once china announce that it no longer willing to buy US debt there would be big shake up in the market. and waging one or two more war would surely bring US down, there is no better time than this
and what make you think this is all about oil and historical claim? china needs to project its power to pacific and now the chain of island south of japan is blocking its way. anyway this is the historical fact i got
          http://www.historytoday.com/joyman-lee/senkakudiaoyu-islands-conflict
as for these vessels they are fisherman who fell that their livelihood being threaten by recent purchase of the island

          • China owns less than 8% of the US debt, dumfuq. Japan owns almost the same as China and 66% is owned by the USA citizens. You’re fucking dreaming if you think calling in that debt will bring the USA to their knees.

          • Bo Xilai For Emperor

another crazed man who masturbates to “USA will die on my watch”

          • US Debt is still a better investment than Domestic investments in China, sadly. You don’t have a good understanding of government debt so i won’t bore you, but if everyone called in their debts it would crash everyone and the US would be on the winning side of things, financially.

          • Getrealson

Wacky, thanks for your link to historytoday. It is nice to be able to compare background information from different sources (and difficult to choose a side in this situation ;-) )

          • wacky

@ little wolf, a war would bring an end to everything especially chinese export,if you are an illiterate idiot better not to comment, a sudden announcement that china will stop buying debt would shaken up the market that is a fact, not necessarily bring US to its knee, but 2 more war one in pacific and one in middle east would do. and anyway do you think that that 8% means something??? i think even the chinese government know that that 8% can never be paid back

            @ red china.
US debt is a better investment but not in the time of war because in the time of war everybody would use everything they have to fight the enemy, of course if there is no war china would continue to buy the debt. \

            @ getrealson,
fuck you and get real bitch

Nah..this won’t escalate any further…but Taiwan ROC gov’t at least stood up to their claims (somewhat) and you don’t see crazy people burning stuffs, breaking into stores and robbing people in Taiwan in the name of anti-japanese, they geared their protest towards the conflicting issue. PRC’s stinking rusting sea bird pooping target (aircraft carrier) is just a stupid trophy for those power-tripping commies. • Bo Xilai For Emperor

True…but at least Taiwan isn’t acting like a paper tiger, the wimpy school yard bully. The gov’t of Taiwan is more level-headed…focus on the conflicting issue, instead of letting crazy rioters go postal in their own country, burning cars, breaking store windows, mass vandalizing, and beating up their own countrymen, PRC gov’t got no class, no guts. But 100% guts when it’s time to beat up their own citizens

It seemed to me (I couldn’t understand it, personally) that Taiwanese people adored Japan. As far as I could tell, being a colony of Japan was the highlight of their existence, and it seemed like the love affair/admiration was mutual. Japanese and Taiwanese netizens on various websites/message boards exchanged affection and support for each other (“we support you 100% over China/SK/___). So why is it that this relationship has turned a little sour? I thought these two were brothers in arms against “evil” China and SK?

      • Bo Xilai For Emperor

I think that the relationship between Japan and PRC is that of a Japanese Pimp to the PRC hoe…after the PRC gov’t let the Japanese set up factories (Chairman Mao thank the graciousness of the Japanese invaders in WW2 for letting the commies came into power) the PRC citizens started paying the pimp tax – cheap labor for Japanese businesses, cheap and large quantities of rare earth, cheap Chinese prostitutes in Japan, buying large amounts of PS3’s and now because PRC the hoe is crying that her purse (diaoyutai) got robbed by her pimp, she asks her own people to kill, beat up and burn each other. Do you like the love between the pimp and hoe story?

Here we go again. japan coast guards harassing Chinese fishermen. Japan…when you leave Diaoyu and stop this conflict? If they hurt the civilian fishermen again, Chinese should really do something. Enough is enough.

Japan you need to move out of diaoyu and back to your mainland Japan. You are too close to the chinese. You are in Taiwan and China territory. You shouldn’t be there.

Why is it when faced with an external enemy, HK’ers and Taiwanese say China will get you? but when “locusts” bombard them they say we are not chinese!

        • elizabeth

She meant “mainland China’ will get you. HK & Taiwan watch on sofa. No contradiction at all. Let the ‘locusts’ shave them all bald in the head.

We are chinese. Who said we not chinese. Hk are cantonese..aka chinese from hongkong. Hk people are also indians, uk, aussie, fino..etc. So get your fact straight.

Taiwanese are chinese. They are chinese from taiwan aka taiwanese.

If I am not chinese what am I? Martian?

          • Getrealson

uuuuuummm…possibly! So Hong Kong people are Chinese, also indians, uk, aussie, fino? etc vely solly! hard to get my fact straight with that explaination.

Are Taiwanese Chinese? is that what they identify themselves as? Is Taiwan part of China?

  • the ace of books

Oh Jesus Christ, it’s like they’re fucking ASKING for escalation. I mean shit, guys, could you maybe just, you know, sell the islands to like Peru or something, that way nobody has all this hoopla in their lap.

Here’s the question: if this does indeed escalate, who’s on who’s side? Would China take the buck if Japan does something to Taiwan? Would America? This is so goddamn complicated, and it doesn’t need to be.

  • Nick in Beijing

Not surprising that Taiwan would take some firm action before China does. Too bad they don’t realize that they are acting exactly as China would prefer them to. Taiwan and Japan should utilize and develop these islands jointly, and any other disputed territories between the two nations. That would be a slap in China’s face, and a further statement of independence that China couldn’t easily ignore.

Wait. This is certainly reminiscent of WW2. The nationalists taking action while the CCP hides behind rattling sabers and empty words.

With Taiwan’s (the KMT/GMD) history of conflict with Japan in WW2 I wouldn’t be surprised if this did in fact escalate more.

    • Bo Xilai For Emperor

I for one support your comment wholeheartedly

    • mr. wiener

You forget most Taiwanese actually like and respect the Japanese.

(and I mean an actual citation, not three paragraphs on why you think I’m wrong)

        • mr. wiener

          I can’t.
          I’m busy, and I couldn’t be arsed.
All I will say is the the KMT guys make up a small percentage of the population and they are mainly not the ones with the money.
By and large the Taiwanese have fond recollections , or handed down recollections of the Japanese as being a classy bunch who put a first class infastructure into a malaria ridden back water. They compare them favorably to the ragged KMT troops who arrived [on American ships] and proceeded to steal everything not nailed down.
There have been no mass demos here and no one is boycotting Japanese goods.
The climate of hate you described doesn’t seem to exist here. Or maybe my head is so far up my own arse I’m missing it. Time will prove one of us right.

        • BigCAD

We did have a mass demo the other day running outside the monkey, seemed fairly well organised and rather peaceful but had no effect upon my local Japanese dinner spot, which was heaving as ever.

Was oddly suprised upon arrival here that the Taiwanese do look favourably upon the Japanese (much like HK citizens on the UK), there is also a fairly large well integrated Japanese population here; my landlord is Japanese and the old bloke around the corner I get my wudong noodles is Japanese and my local boozer is run by a Japanese couple.

No need for a citation, please visit and find out for yourself.

          • mr. wiener

You were heaving your dinner from the Japanese restaurant near the Brass monkey? Sushi must have been off that day :)

          • BigCAD

You know my old Japanese scrumhalf had to hide in his house for the last few weeks, like his national team couldn’t attend the Shanghai sevens because of the walkers.

      • Northerner

I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the whole thing is set up just to rub the salt further into CCP’s wounds. Little Taiwan standing up and doing something whilst mighty China rattles its sabre for weeks and eventually does nothing.

The whole situation could quite easily have been engineered to unsettle feelings in China in the run up to the change of leadership, possibly in the hope that civil unrest reaches a level where the government is toppled or reacts a la 1989.

Whatever, China and the CCP have lost massive amounts of face over this. For months the US has been urging China to sit down and negotiate with all parties involved in island disputes, at one table and reach agreements. The CCP has rejected this approach and said all disputes will be dealt with unilaterally (obviously to their advantage). It is now reported that, as the CCP managed to achieve nothing positive over the Senkakus they are courting South Korea to open/take joint negotiations/actions against Japan.

Still that level of shameless, two faced hypocrisy is nothing new to those of us with first hand experience of The Middle kingdom.

        • Alice S

          I hope it is.

Japs who do not want Chinks to have them.
Chinks who do not want Japs to have them.
Taiwanese island monkeys who don’t want Japs or Chinks to have em.
Or, have the Taiwanese island monkeys who have always vehemently claimed independance from the mainland, now started supporting them?
Will this turn into a three way conflict, or will we see chink and monkey gang up on the japs?

Taiwan is asserting itself as its own nation and giving Red China a little show of what they’re capable of. They’re not fighting for China, although the Chinese govt will try to spin it that way (spouting the usual BS about Taiwan always being an inseparable part of China). Also remember face means *everything* a Chinese. Taiwan showing off how “gei li” they are makes mainland China’s government look like paper tigers and hopefully instigate some unrest between the people and the government.

Now if Taiwan really wants to re-join China (unlikely), the US will of course support Japan. Otherwise, the US would reluctantly back Taiwan. But these guys are friendly nations that don’t need to battle it out. Taiwan and Japan can and should settle the matter peacefully, something the Red Chinese are incapable of. Red China wont win any naval battle, but they have a lot of ICBM’s pointed at Japan and Taiwan. And if they lose these islands to Taiwan or Japan… well remember Bikini Atoll is still radioactive. It gets interesting…..

Here’s a wiki article that put forward each side’s positions on the sovereignty issue over the islands. pretty interesting read.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senkaku_Islands_dispute

After reading the article, I feel that China/Taiwan has a better claim to the islands than Japan, but moopster will probably disagree with me.

    • Wow. Tittilating.

Do you think trying to be patronizing by calling moop “moopster” makes you appear clever?

      • AngryCanadien

i wasn’t patronizing him. I added -ster as a sign of endearment actually…like a nickname. You know, we took jabs at one another in a previous chinasmack article. just trying to mend some fences. thought it was cute too call him moopster. jeesh, sensitive much?

    • Paul

Canadien (do you have to be angy), this article confirms more of the background info I had. I also tend to the side that the claims from Japan are more based on “Japanese imperialism” in the end of the 19th century, then on historic binds with the islands. It will be interesting to see what type of ‘diplomatic’ response is expected from China/Taiwan (funny to see those two now aligned), and who would have to resolve such a dispute.

      • AngryCanadien

china and taiwan double team on japan, then after they get the islands back, they then can fight it amongst themselves who actually own the islands. haha

I know this will get pounced on as it breaks the unwritten forum rule of ‘foaming at the mouth, krypto-racist China bashing only’ but I think this is a very interesting development and is one of the first real instances of Mainland and Taiwan having a common goal and could be the basis of future cooperation and reconciliation, at least in terms of concerted foreign policy. Taiwan is the only state in the region where the people don’t despise Japan and now Japan has infuriated them too, if the Japanese overplay their hand of America backing any and every anti-china plot the Japanese could see a much more united anti-Japanese Asian bloc, every country that borders Japan has a territorial dispute with them.

I read in some other article that Taiwan is now claiming ownership over the islands. What’s their reasoning? Proximity and the fact that they have been fishing there for a while?

over 1500 DF-16, DF-11, DF-15 and DF-21 short to medium range ballistic missiles of the PLA second artillery corps are on standby. DH-10 and CJ-10 long range cruise missiles also.

Rape all american air-bases in the whole west-pacific up to Guam, destroy all their means of power-projection, conduct aggressive mine warfare and ASW to destoy american submarines lingering in the region, while the PLA’s formidable air-defense network takes care of those US tomahawks that were launched against Chinese installations, and throw the US completely out of the Pacific, so that they are forced to launch from Hawaii and Alaska, which makes their flights vulnerable to air-borne interdiction and which would degrade their weapons payload due to the distances.

Achieve all this, and the ROC and PRC will finally put the Japanese into the cage they belong. Not as a vassal to the US and as their “unsinkable aircraft-carrier”, but as a beaten dog that will remain neutral and insignificant for the rest of their existence.

This is the only way for the Chinese nation to solve the Diaoyu issue. Kill the master, and the dog will succumb.

You would have to be the expert on killing your master if history is correct? Remember you had a king once?? And didn’t you become Mao’s dog for ever after, little poodle? And don’t forget your glorious leader hid under a mountain in a dug out hotel in his home town, while Chinese people were murdered and starved to death. Wasn’t he from such a poor home???? With no less than six rooms and a private lake in his back yard while the rest of china suffered? Do the world a favor; build a bigger wall to keep the Chinese people in. just until china “mainland” grows up to be something that resembles anything other than the missing link.
And FYI in any history book in the known world it has always been china that has been the main aggressor throughout history. Why do you think every one of your neighbors hates you from the time of zhang he? You know the guy whom went to India, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and all of these countries kicked him out and made a pact never to do business with china again? When the Chinese communist party wants something they say things like, “zhang he was part Vietnamese, and he was part Korean, and part Philippine”, etc…
What about the Chinese armada china sent to japan for a sneak attack hundreds of years ago, and sank to the bottom of the sea in a storm? And what about the ships recently discovered off the coast of the Philippines that were sunk to the bottom of the sea? What about when you’re illustrious leader left an entire battalion of Russian soldiers to die in the desert? Do you think they have forgotten? I would have to say No china. You are the little dog and you have forgotten that international business is not the one way street you want it to be. Why do you think so many PEOPLE with businesses are leaving you???
I really hope you can bow down and kiss the ass of the entire world for providing you with the means, money, technology and affordability to even consider bombing anyone. And just an afterthought, why can’t you sink a Chinese aircraft carrier? Because, it’s already sitting on the bottom.

  • Canyouthink

They are so cute. Firing on a Japanese ship will trigger a response from America. They are all talking big but no one will dare cross the line.

    • GiannaFox

Actually, America will not get involved into this, for political, diplomatic reasons. Because Taiwan is mixed into the conflict, which they are one of the US allies, as well as Japan, America will not, and cannot get involved into this. It has become a local conflict. America won’t take any actions against two of its allies, even if China is mixed in the pot. Also, USA would not dare to attack China OR Taiwan (which China controls) in Asia, right at their (China’s) doorstep, this would be suicide.
