Laowai, we’re going to kick your ass out of China!

Where: Beijing city 100 meters south of the Xuanwumen subway entrance opposite the Sogo Department Store. When: 2012 May 8th around 23:20 [11:20pm]. At the time, Big Brother [referring to self] was getting off work and closing the shop and a Little Brother [referring to a younger man] ran over in a panic, “Big Brother, hurry, there’s someone crying for help over there”. At the time, Big Brother didn’t think much about it, because when the road is not level, Big Brother will go level it [when one sees a problem, one does something], and quickly rushed to the scene, but what bitterly disappointed Big Brother was that there were so many people there on the side of the road watching but not doing anything. The scene did not allow for much thought, it had to be stopped, otherwise the consequences would truly be unimaginable, so Big Borhter and another “see injustice and do what is right” friend, and a Little Brother bravely went forth. Cao, Big Brother is Chinese, and every citizen of China is Big Brother’s brother and sister, so how can Big Brother tolerate them being bullied/taken advantaged of by others? Big Brother was put on this earth to fight bad guys! I want to tell all the sisters of our motherland: “The night is dark, your family is waiting for you to return home; The day is late, don’t go out alone, and especially when it is summer, don’t dress so revealingly! You may not know that there is a pair of eyes is behind you staring at you, so listen to Big Brother and go home!”

Last night, a video of a drunk man near Xuanwumen who had sexually assaulted a girl being stopped by passersby captured everyone’s attention, who asked what had happened. From police investigations, on 2012 May 8th around 11pm, a foreign national male began molesting a woman in public after drinking. When passersby saw, they stopped him and called the police. The police immediately rushed to the scene and arrested the man. Afterward, the police put him in a detainment room for him to sober up and is currently being detained for investigation in accordance to law. This man is a British national and holds a tourist visa. At present, this case is currently in legal proceedings.

The last paragraph above is a copy of the statement issued by Beijing Police through their official Sina Weibo account (@平安北京).

This video of course spread on Sina Weibo, China’s most popular microblogging platform, and the following post has been reshared and forwarded over 80k times with over 17k comments since it was posted last night…

@北京人不知道的北京事儿: Beijing brothers, remember this laowai‘s face! In the future, beat him each time you see him!!! 2012 May 8th around 23:20 [11:20pm], in front of the Xuanwumen SOGO, a laowai raping a Chinese girl was beat up by people.

Beat him to death!

All of Beijing, human flesh search this beast.

Him lying there is just pretending, give his face a few kicks. CNM.

顾晓江江:

Isn’t this what these Chaoyang girls wish for?

_BD__:

Motherfucking stupid cunt laowai… get the fuck out of China, get the fuck out of Beijing. [怒][怒]

北京大妞儿阿曼曼:

Just during noon today we were talking about the character problems of laowai in China… a group beating is letting him off easy! It is no longer the era of girls preferring to find laowai, so get lost back to wherever you came from, Beijing doesn’t welcome you! [鄙视][怒][哼]

王小闹-随时闹 :

Is this real?

杨小卓同学:

How can this kind of thing happen on an open street of China’s Beijing! Intolerable! Inexcusable! Beating you up it definitely fucking letting you off easy! If it were up to the city residents to decide, you’d definitely not be leaving Beijing with your JJ!!

李志堂Balan:

@平安北京 [@pinganbeijing, the official Beijing public security bureau microblog account], this laowai will have to do prison time, right?

胡小牛胡胡:

How come this girl isn’t resisting? At the beginning of the video, why is she just waiting for him to rape her? What are your two hands for?

薇薇薇菊:

When encountering trouble in China, definitely don’t expect passersby to help.

可以更安静:

This has to be reported to the police, deporting him is the minimum that must be done, and must remember to keep a record so he will never be allowed back in!

This is all over Xiaonei [a Chinese social network].

honey_田:

Some laowai are chivalrous, some laowai are immoral~ Girls, don’t blindly worship the foreign!! There are plenty of shameless foreigners!! Like this bastard, if I was present, I’d turn him into an eunuch!

大善人jone:

Sentence him to 3 years for attempted rape, no commuted sentence, no parole, and let those in the prison who engage in homosexuality torment him to death every day…

zhegebucuo: (responding to above)

They don’t dare… in the end, they’ll do a public disturbance and 7 days later he’ll walk free, or pretend to deport him… trust me, it’ll be one of these two.

明星天南:

This will make things difficult for the Party and government.

Mr_阿佳:

MD, where did all of Beijing’s men go? After all that time there was only one real man? And why was there even a fucking blond-haired guy stopping the real man? Was he a Chinese traitor!?

寂寞滴香烟:

Look at that image, does that look like rape? If she really wants to resist, she’d close her two legs, and if he thrusts, she could use her hand and just twist his cock, could he succeed then? Looks more like they’re making an AV [adult video], and that girl is really enjoying it.

舒中胜:

This morning @平安北京 [Beijing Police] made an announcement confirming this incident, and that the drunk laowai has already been arrested… If this the sexual assault was done by a Chinese person, or if you happened to pass by, would you have acted?

梁邦荣:

[They] already know China’s officials don’t dare to do anything against laowai, so they’ve already started bullying/taking advantage of us in our own homes, but fortunately there were passersby who seek to do the right thing.

Lina可可欣:

Fuck, just kill him! Look at how wretched and despicable he looks, fucking disgusting! Where the fuck are China’s men? Letting a laowai terrorize the streets in Beijing, and there’s even someone who stops [the other man from beating up the foreigner]! Are all of China’s men dead???!!!

羅偉潔:

Punish him in accordance with Chinese law.

This kind deserves to be beaten, but that Brazilian man in Guangdong deserves to be given support!

白眼狮子大老爷:

I would first watch him finish raping her then beat him up. This way, there are four advantages: 1. Live AV [adult video, porn]. 2. He’ll have lost his strength and it’ll be easier to beat him up. 3. More convenient for collecting evidence. 4. That’s it.

卡人小主得恩宠:

It’s said that a lot of people were just looking on from the side of the street, no one going forward to help. It wasn’t until the boss of a hair salon who had just finished drinking was called to come see what was happening that someone went forward to stop it. What is wrong with this society, to allow a laowai to bully and humiliate our girls on our territory. I don’t dare to imagine how if this didn’t happen in Beijing, this girl might have actually been humiliated and dishonored right on the open street.

ZKKKZ:

Beijingers are too merciful, here we would’ve dragged him to where there’s no people, beat him to death, and then throw him into the river.

Yuki不想当胖纸:

Saw this video on Renren [a Chinese social network], totally shameless to the limit. This person should just be executed on the spot.

Was that girl originally with the laowai? If so, then her dream of going abroad has been ruined.

I bet that woman isn’t anything good either, otherwise this kind of thing wouldn’t happen out on an open street.

ii丶差不多先生:

I’m very curious, how come that girl wasn’t resisting before?

If this British pervert were in America, American passersby would’ve long ago shot him dead. Guns are legal in America, reporting to the police is just to have them clean up and burn the body… Our China is considered very courteous/tolerant!!!

white trash!

This kind of thing happens and still Chinese passersby are so calm, even asking, and filming. If it were me, I would’ve gone up and kicked him already.

There are odd things about this, a lot of questions, can’t rush to conclusions, must wait for results.

How come the middle is cut out!? Is it because you’re embarrassed to let everyone see how a single laowai defended against over ten of you!? And then you cockily upload this to take credit? Winning the support of innumerable insecure Chinese people, satisfying your petty and low self-esteem, right…?

wuqingcaonima: (responding to above)

Please use your brain, if he went up to fight the guy, would he still have time to film?

What do you think?

  • Made In World

    Three points.

    A) Disgusting person; as a drinker, and the occasional really wild night, nothing remotely like this has happened to me, or any of the people I know.

    B) What is it with this “we foreigners?” When the Chinese are in America, they don’t scream to the Indians, Japanese, Koreans, whatever “Hey brother foreigner?” You wanna blame a nation, blame England, not the rest of the world (sorry England :)

    C) Comments like “they shouldn’t judge our behavior overseas when they behave like this” are totally insane. If anyone behaves in a manner that threatens others, of course they should be judged. Don’t care where they are where they’re from.

Here’s a question for you… Do you think if it was a Chinese guy doing that to a Chinese girl, she would have gotten that much attention from the public? I’ve read some pretty nasty stories (some on here, I think) about some pretty nasty stuff that’s been done in public, and no one seemed to help.

Again, not defending this guy, and he’s not singular, I’ve met some pretty messed up “foreigners” in China, including from my country. This just seems a little over the top… not that the french fry guy wasn’t….

    • alan

      true.

  • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

According to Swedish News Site Sweden Confidetial, the man holds a brittish passport but is a muslim immigrant, much like the majority of rapists in europe.

    • kaka

Do you have another link to the report on Sweden Confidetial, Mikkie?

I have a filter app installed on Chrome that blocks far-right pro-Aryan news-sources from loading up, and I can’t seem to disable it, so I am unable to read the article.

Seig Heil, and thanks in advance…

      • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Grow a brain please, that amoeba like substance which substitutes for one obviously aren’t working very well.

        • kaka

          A brain, Mikkie?

I did not suggest readers to go read an article written in a heavily biased pro-Aryan rag whose content is aimed at inflaming racial tension in Sweden – and cite as you do as fact in a sensationalist way that he is a “muslim immigrant” – then go on to suggest that muslims constitute “the majority of rapists in europe”.

          You’ll find that was you…

There are no doubt religious and racial tensions within Europe as a whole, some valid, some not… but if you make a sweeping racial generalization about perpetrators of rape in Europe, and your source is a far-right newspaper, you can’t moan if someone takes-the-piss out of you.

As for your claim below of 99%, that is merely an example of sensationalizing statistics to inflame an important social issue.

Rape by men of Muslim heritage is a problem in Europe, and is a result of a failure to integrate, and different attitudes to woman between European and in some parts of Muslim culture.

Rape is wrong, and these men should be punished, but by creating fear and mistrust between the different elements within a society does not help the problem.

To truly understand the Norwegian statistics, one has to understand the different classifications given to sexual assault within the Norwegian judicial system.

As you’ve stated that your brain is bigger than mine, I’m sure you are aware that there are 5 or so different categories – not all what people in many western societies would consider as “rape”.

Muslim’s (in Oslo) made up about 100% of “Assault Rapes”, not “ALL Rapes” with 6 convictions for the period the report covers. 6, although 6 too many, has less of an mental impact than to say “100%”.

“Assault Rapes” accounted for about 12% of total rape offences, so there were about 50 instances of rape falling within the 5 Norwegian categories of rape in Oslo that year.

Muslims accounted for about 48% of all rapes, so that’s about 24/50. Given that the Muslim population of Oslo is about 11% of the total, 24/50 is relatively high. Although, keep in mind, only the top 2 categories constitute what most nations legally define as rape.

However, whilst some attacks are racially / religiously motivated – one must note that Muslims are often in the poorest section of the Norwegian social scale – and the 48% figure could be transplanted to any socio-economically deprived grouping in any other major city in any country across Europe – however, that group in Norway just happens to be Muslim immigrants.

It may be that all the Muslims you know are all woman hating rapists – but I’ve met many, and at least 60% weren’t, so I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. Then again, as you say, I have an amoeba for a brain – so you know best…

          • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

This time i would have to say thank you, for a more intellectual answer then the last one. As far as i am concerned, SweCon however are not far-right, they are simply the opposite of politically correct media.

You seem to understand the problem we are facing in large parts of Europe.

Also, if you deem me as a racist you are far off. Most of my friends are foreigners. I am myself born swede but live in China and i am married to a chinese national. My best friends are from all over the world and yes, some of them are also secularian muslims, muslims that themselves are disgusted by the cultural behavior and islamic traditions the new breed of immigrants since the mid/late 80′s from their home countries. A primitive culture and behavior this earlier generation of immigrants fled from.

Also, if you think i have something against muslims in general, i do not. Like i stated, some of my best friends are secularian muslims. I am however totally against islamic enforced political and religional views on women, and us so called infidels. And you can not bring up the racist card here, because as you know … in case your brain actually is bigger then an amoebas which i believe now. You would also know that islam is not a race.

But trying to milder or say that the over representation in not just rapes, but other violent crimes is not such a big deal in europe. Instead of referring you to any “pro-aryan right-sided propaganda site” why dont take a general look:

            http://www.google.se/#hl=sv&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=muslim+rapists+in+europe&oq=muslim+rapists+in+europe&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_l=hp.3…963.7906.0.8089.24.17.0.0.0.0.1444.5251.7-4.5.0…0.0._R8wgrEa0c8&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=5d080cbae0590940&biw=1345&bih=1135

          • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Besides, i agree, and apologize. I did make a clumsy generalization regardless without going into depth with my first comment.

          • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Also, although i agree with much of what you say i do not agree fully with:

“Rape by men of Muslim heritage is a problem in Europe, and is a result of a failure to integrate, and different attitudes to woman between European and in some parts of Muslim culture.”

Failure to integrate is what has plunged the later generation (since mid 80′s) into segregation, social wellfare dependancy, unemployment and a general reversed racism. You know in Sweden, swedes are by immigrants called “svenne”, which for an African is the equivalent to “nigger”.

The rape problems are in my opinion solely by cultural and religious traditions and behavior, and certainly by the morale and attitude against women in their former home countries. Now where did i get this from? Out of the blue? no. This is what muslims have told me who belong to the earlier generation of well integrated immigrants.

          • waihang

“However, whilst some attacks are racially / religiously motivated – one must note that Muslims are often in the poorest section of the Norwegian social scale…”

Sorry but that’s not a correct assumption!
Long ago having actually lived in Stockholm, capital of Sweden, during many years I can only agree with Mikkie, actually there was a leak for some 15 years ago or so from the police with statistics that showed, indeed Swedes commit as much crime as the immigrants, BUT…. the immigrants from “exotic places” were over represented in crimes involving rape, drugs, robbery.. all of a clearly much rougher criminal nature than the Swedes were involved in, go figure!

As for “poorest section of Norwegian scale..”, Norway as well as Sweden do have a very similar social security system, the immigrants will get the allowance as any other citizen to cover all the expenses for rent, food and leave some pocket money left over for buying clothes, go to cinema or whatever one wants to do, no excuses and no need to feel sorry here, go figure!

The situation in Sweden for the past decades is such that the news media are Not allowed to mention national background of any one because it could be considered as racism, no pictures and not even a hint of skin color!
All one can read is if the person was a male or female, hint of age such as “male in his 30′s..”, not much more, call it a discrimination or human rights…

          • kaka

Mikkie, I did not accuse you of racism – there is no such thing – we are all the same “race” – homo sapiens.

There is, however, a proclivity towards fear and its by-product hatred of other ethnic groups, their cultures, habits, and religious practices – especially when we do not understand them, or see or feel that those ethnic groups are imposing themselves or “over-running” the dominant ethnic practices.

There is also hatred of other nationalities, although much of the current world map is a modern construct, which is in fact xenophobia.

One might also add Nationalism, often confused with patriotism – especially here in China, although that is merely a misunderstanding of the words origin “patriotikos”.

It is up to you to decide which, if any, of the above I was suggesting you were guilty of… I prefer to think I posted a supercilious response to a over-generalizing comment.

I agree with the general thrust of most of what you say, however I do not think the direction from which you approach it will ultimately solve the problem. Also, to say that you have “secular muslim” friends is an oxymoron… if they are secular, they are not really Muslim. I don’t believe in Christianity, does this make me a secular-Christian? What you mean to say is that you know people of Muslim heritage, who no longer follow the Muslim faith in any real sense and instead have integrated in to the society they now live.

My point, if I had any, was that magazines like Sweden Confidential do not serve to remedy the problem – indeed they do as much as the liberal European media to exasperate and inflame the issue – one by pretending that it doesn’t exist, the other by creating an atmosphere of fear and mistrust. In effect, both stifle rational debate on a topic that is fundamental to the future stability of Europe – and make taking the tough decisions necessary even harder to effect.

The issue is that Europe has allowed in massive numbers people of a radically different culture to enter in to it. A large proportion of these immigrants (or as we westerners like to call ourselves when moving to other countries – expats) either are unable or unwilling to adapt to their new host culture – indeed they often despise it (like many foreigners do in China). Unlike previous waves of migration – they are also often relatively un-educated and poor – meaning they are already predicated to commit certain types of crime (drugs, sexual offences, robbery, etc).

They are also provided with “welfare” – which unlike WaiHang seems to think – only serves to trap people in their current economic position and remove incentive to integrate in to a society in order to improve ones socio-fiscal position. There is a massive correlation between economic status and certain types of crime – to deny this only highlights one’s ignorance.

The only answer is either forced integration, which is impracticable, or to be more selective about whom is allowed to settle within Europe.

However, the liberal media shouts down any serious discussion on this topic, whilst magazines like SC only serve to give them the ammunition to do so.

What is needed is a rational discussion – based on the social, cultural, economic, and religious factors that motivate much of the current anti-Muslim sentiment in Europe.

After all, I do not think that you’d have an issue with any devout Muslim who moves to Europe and attempts to integrate in to the society and contributes to the economic betterment of that society whilst abiding by its laws and social rules?

But who would have that discussion with someone who states as fact that the majority of rapes in Europe are committed by Muslims?

So, hopefully you can see my point…

          • Little Wolf

Well….my ex-wife is Swedish and my daughter was born there but even I was subject to the government assimilation in which I was required to learn Swedish. The government even subsidized my company for hours I missed from work while I attended classes. I had to live in neighborhood where I was the only American. Immigrants of were not allowed to form ghettos. The Swedish were very generous and welcoming in those days as long as you just showed a little resolve to assimilate Swedish and frankly, I thought it was a good policy. After I left, the place seems to have been over-run with immigrants and spun way out of control. I have watch the events unfold just as Mikkie described them and it would be wrong to call him a racist.

        • navighost

Kaka, Homo sapiens is not a race, it is a species.

    • Boris

The majority of rapists in Europe are Muslims with British passports? -That really is confidential. I’m impressed.

      • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Muslim immigrants are overrepresented in raspist statistics in many european countries. In norway by as much as 99% which was reported earlier this year by Norwegian authorities. The overrepresentation is huge in Sweden also, you think it would differ elsewhere?

        • Boris

I believe that the comments on muslim immigrants doing most rape in European cities/countries are inaccurate.

Muslims probably do average many more rapes per unit population, and may be the majority in several categories such as gang rape and stranger rape in some localities, but I do not believe they are actually the perpetrators of the majority of allrapes.

If anyone must comment on this then please try to be accurate because it is a very serious issue and exaggeration does not help.

          • Boris

Fauna, what’s going on? I didn’t make this comment you attribute to me. Perhaps a glitch in the programme. I CATAGORICALLY DO NOT believe ‘Muslims probably do average many more rapes per unit population.’

          • Boris1

            Sorry Boris2,

I didn’t notice this name was in use.

Hi Boris1. Thanks for clearing up the confusion.
I thought I’d started posting in my sleep.
            Here’s one for you:
‘Mummy, mummy, I’ve just been graped!’
‘Sweetie, I think you mean raped.’
‘No. There was a bunch of them.’

    • 老外

fuck off. your comment is trivially racist and hugely stupid.

      • simon

majority of muslim men i’ve met in Beijing are fuking perverts. And i would know, i was a sales manager for the embassy department and i interacted with A LOT of saudi/omar/UAE diplomats.

        • Justin

Even though they are technically representatives of their country, you can’t really consider diplomats to be actually representative of the population at large. Lots of those gulf states are run by playboy billionaire princes, e.g. the Sauds, and their diplomats are all taken from that class, so it’s no surprise that their behavior is poor like all trashy noveau riche types (most of them aren’t newly rich necessarily, but they act that way.)

    • Silent observer

      Mikkie,

Your mom spelled your name wrong idiot. He has to be Muslim or black right? I keep telling these Chinese girls it’s not the blacks you should be afraid of. Now how are you going to spend this one?

    • chinamark

Don’t be put-off by this Mikkie character, ChinaSmack readers. Most Swedes are not like this. This guy is the Anders Behring Breivik type. Along with the EDF and other related organizations, far-right extremism is becoming a major source of sickness in European affairs.

  • Katiekrackers

As a westerner (Aussie) woman I find this absolutely disgusting. He was beaten enough! The start of the video CLEARLY shows his intentions, and the way he tries to play it down when he’s busted shows he’s not only sober and coherent enough, it shows he KNOWS EXACTLY what he’s doing and that it’s wrong. I hope he rots and gets whats coming with no legal help from “home”. Let the brutal Chinese government deal with him, their disregard for proper procedure is in this case a blessing. Go for it! Who cares what race or nationality he actually is, he’s just a filthy pig. If a man uses his penis like weapon or to do intentional malicious harm, it should removed from his person, just like a gun or knife. Take it off him!

    • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

      Could not agree more

    • SuperHappyCow

But YOU don’t even fucking KNOW that, dude.

To me, the guy looks confused as fuck, like he has no idea why she’s flipping out.

Do you know what happened before the video started? No.

Unless you have a link to a video of before the men approached him with a camera than you don’t really know anything.

      Ugh.

      • Shanghairen

I agree with Katiekrackers’ take on it. I don’t see any confusion on his face. I see a guy getting caught and trying to play it cool hoping they would let him go. If he was trying to help her, then he would have stayed close to her, or tried to help her up, or tried to tell the Chinese guys what the problem was so they could help her.

      • hunter101

Regardless the start of a crime is arbitrary. The guy acted, it is enough to convict him in any court of law. The fact that the woman was screaming for help does not bold well for the Brit, let alone caught with his trousers down.

But lets play your role. We do not know what happened before the event that transpired. Heck he could have came from heaven and wanted to seed little Jesus in public on a Beijing street. He maybe confused because he wanted to give the world the 2nd coming of christ, while she is ‘flipping out’ because she did not agree to such an action. So XYZ later, he is hovering missionary position over her and her crying for help.

Look, when a robber comes into your house and you catch him red handed, you do not look for ‘how he got in’ but rather the situation that is at hand of him doing the crime.

Overall he deserved this beating. Those who say otherwise should have a clear look at themselves. No means no. Screaming is a clear indication of no. Even if its/she is a prostitute, one has to respect their decision. And thusly, no amount of blood alcohol one contains will justify the act of raping or non consensual sex.

But yea fuck this brit and all those who tries to defend him.

      • simon

you must be a real fucking retard to try the ‘innocent until proven guilty’ line. the chick is saying in Chinese ‘i don’t know who he is’

your statement is so retarded on so many levels i feel you being born was a complete and utter waste to society’s limited resources.

        • SuperHappyCow

Her saying she doesn’t know him is not solid evidence at all.

This video has ZERO context, aside from what the claims are made in the reporting. It’s not clear whether or not he can speak Mandarin, or she could speak English.

The fact that so many people eat this up and immediately accept it as solid evidence shows how many people are absolutely unwilling to put any thought into something before convicting someone of a harsh crime that would relieve them of many years of their lives.

I am not the fool here.

          • yma

There are witness reports of the same guy on the metro harassing female passengers just prior to the incident.

Did you even watch the video? The guy pinned the girl down, his pants was down, it doesn’t take a detective to know what his intentions were.

    Final observation before bed:

Three prominent stories about foreigners in China over the lest week. McDonald’s Fries Guy, Guangzhou Good Samaritan, and Drunken Beijing Rapist.

Looking at this from a historical Chinese perspective, that’s 2:1, or 66.6666666% Good to 33.3333333% Bad – which is not far off the 70% – 30 % golden mark of forgiveness for any series of heinous crimes one can commit.

From a PR perspective – foreigners need another Good news story within the next 48 hours, and they’ll be at 75% – and thus immune from further criticism.

    • Capt. WED

It doesn’t work like that. You’re only looking at a very small sample size. You have to look at least look at an entire year worth of report and sample from that maybe.

  • Ron

He’s not white, obviously, look at the second picture down. Clearly one of the numerous second-generation Middle-Easterners or North-Africans adventuring abroad under their “British” identities. Not to say that white people don’t commit these crimes too, but it is silly to see Chinese shouting “white trash”, and “get the white devils out”, when it isn’t even a white person who committed the crime. Reminds me of the other video on here, of the five Chinese American teens beating up the Chinese exchange student outside their middle school. Since they were in ski masks, the Chinese who watched the video assumed the attackers were evil white racists, little did they know it was their own people doing the attacking. So quick to blame the white devil…

    • cb4242

When they say “white” they often mean as in skin tone. So if you go by that solely, he IS white by definition. So theoretically, they are not wrong.

  • fredf

The guys shirt is not tucked in at the beginning of the video, his shirt is not tucked in as he is fighting, but then his shirt is tucked into his pants as he is lying in the street.

How did his shirt get tucked into his pants ?

Seems very suspicious and seems to point to this whole thing as being staged or faked.

    • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Maybe he tucked it in before taking a nap? I dunno but i doubt this incident is reliable source for some spoofed conspiracy theories

    • Made In World

They probably tucked it in as they were emptying his pockets.

  • Sarge

I think that this was a staged event. I believe that there were no obvious bruises and there was no obvious bleeding. As a Paramedic (NYC EMS) for many years, I have seen many assault cases, and there is always a physical sign of a beating obvious to the naked eye, especially when the victim is knocked out. Only a true concussion can cause this. And there would be ripped and torn clothing, and likely articles of clothing would be missing. I think that the so-called “Big Brother” is an ethnic Chinese with a hateful attitude towards white foreigners, and he has a “Superman” or a “Batman” type of mentality. A vigilante wannabe for sure. This kind of thing demonstrates why so many white foreigners, and blacks especially do not want to go to China. It is dangerous because of the hate that many, if not most Chinese have for foreigners. This must stop. Your peoples are not treated this way in the United States. And it would never be tolerated by our Federal Government if this type of phenomena occurred here. I believe that it is possible that the government of the People’s Republic of China has sponsored these videos in order to show their displeasure with the United States and the United Kingdom for the political problems existing right now, and that the PRC govt is playing on the inborn prejudices of the Chinese peoples against foreigners (xenophobia) in order to do this thing. This is my opinion. Disagree if you wish, but I believe it to be so, based on the observations available to me.

    • Capt. WED

What about all the ass kissing comments on this site?

Your observations? Some examples perhaps? Don’t tell me it’s all from this site. If so you obvious are selective about it.

      Just more trolling on Chinasmack.

    • Capt. WED

I don’t refute the things you say because there is definitely a problem. I just think you are being unreasonable in some of the things you say.

    • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Ok, you make some good points. However. The guy, according to a lot of chinese netizens and alleged eyewitnesses was totally shitfaced. I agree he may not have been beat up…. he just passed out.

About “big brother” i have no comment…

“This kind of thing demonstrates why so many white foreigners, and blacks especially do not want to go to China.”

Dude, you have any idea how hard it is for a black to get a visa to even go here if hes/hers nationality is not western is? If North African… forget it! You cant even get one (only GUANGZHOU exception). According to a friend of my wife who work with a visa agency she said only in beijing they refuse between 1-200 visa applications from North Africans every week. But as you put it, the blacks especially dont want to go here. Well obviously they are not that welcome judging by the application denials so i would not blame them. Why would they want to??

Inciting that the PRC has fabricated these videos is ok .. ill take you seriously when you bring solid prrof to the table. And i wish you good luck.

It would never be tolerated by your Federal Government? Ok, shoudl we start to discuss the things that are actually being tolerated by this same government?

I ask, how much experience living in china do you have?

      • Notorious

I was planning a trip to China, and hadn’t decided which part I wanted to visit, though I knew Hong Kong would be the place I’d want to start simply for some tourist attraction. We have some offices there too, for my work place and I PRAY I am not asked to go. Ever. Particularly after reading Chinasmack. With the anti-black attitude there, I decided against it. I imagine something terrible could happen and weirder I thought, to a female. What would that experience be like? I might have taken my sons but then I worry someone might viciously attack them for no reason or something because they despise black males so much. So no way. We’ll do Europe but I still can’t make up my mind where i want to visit. Maybe Spain or Italy all of the tourist attractions particularly.

        • donscarletti

I wouldn’t worry about it so much. People are generally scared of others who are different to them, just Chinese are a little more open about it. You and your sons not likely to be assulted and abused.

Standard travel advice for Americans applies, try not to talk constantly at a loud volume and don’t dress like a retard.

        • Boris

          Notorious,
Go to China. You’ll have a blast. The chances that you’ll be on the receiving end of any overt racism are scant. It’s a fascinating country and you’ll never forget it. That said, people drive like utter loons, so watch your step in the roads.

        • GodsHammer

It’s a bunch of white racists who fled interaction with black men who write most of this crap. Ignore it and come.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

i agree that its worth to visit china, at least for experience purposes. But hand on the hard, compared to its size and 5000 year old culture, there is not much to see, or lest say not much has left of it. Most of the tourist destinations are overcrowded with locals which leave a mess behind them.

I believe that i don’t match your description of a typical white races man, but truth is that many chinese are racist and nationalistic. And her being a black women (from what i could understand), i wouldn’t be so sure that she will not make one or the other bad experience during her trip, and i am not talking just about the very common cultural shock…..

    • Capt. WED

I don’t doubt your immense experience has an EMS and I have the utermost respect for you…I think you can be knocked out from a single punch. I don’t doubt you but I stillt hink it’s hard to say from the low quality of the video

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoDG3k5cPZw

      • Capt. WED

Haha I googled guy get knocked out that was the first video. I know why you people are thinking LOL like Im intentionally trolling.

      • cb4242

Pathetic. Anyone could see the dude couldn’t fight, so for that guy to clock him was actually not fair. He wasn’t a challenge nor a threat. Never beat the crap out of anybody that can’t even put up a decent fight. What a shame.

    • Stu

As a paramedic… can you not tell when someone is pretending to be unconscious? Dude even opens his eyes on camera then quickly closes them. Plus you can see him fall on the video and it looks like neither a hard blow nor a hard fall.

And in the interview with the ‘big brother’ dude he seems like a pretty cool guy. Maybe a vigilante wannabe or whatever, I don’t know, but in this case from what we see he’s entirely justified. I’d buy him a yanjing.

    • Shanghairen

There was ripped clothing. Did you watch the video at all?? Sorry, but I live in China, and I don’t feel any danger at all. In fact, I feel safer being a foreigner than being a local (unless I try to rape a local woman, in which case I will have a higher chance of being beaten than a local will). Have you ever lived anywhere in China? And no, this video does not affect foreign relations between China and any country. That is a completely asinine statement. Some trolls are so good I can’t tell if they’re trolling or just really, really stupid.

Same here, i treat people how they treat me and also how they treat others. I’d just love to see all the posters here in real life in one place. Actually I wouldn’t love it but it would be very interesting to say the least.

  • tim

Doubtfull. We all know that chinese do anything for money. It could very well be possible that this is no other. It happened to me once that i was taken to a back room office on a subway station. It started out me holden to cans of spray paint. Which “security” disallowed and tried to confiscate. As i decided to go to take the taxi they would not let me.

At this back room office some dodgy looking police officer tried to negotiate. One of the security, a woman, claimed medical help, in which i had to pay for. For me, being in China for +3 years at that point, it all was clear that it was only a way to take advantage. The police officer claimed i was wrong no matter what i said. My goal was to tell her how much she wanted. I wanted proof of being framed.

But they kept asking how much …I… was willing to offer. In the end i got her confession on tape. I managed to turn on my phone voice recorder and record the whole story. Obviously, they didn’t gave me back my spraypaint. Being very sure that she would return it for money. The cop i highly doubt he was reall. Thinking back, his uniform looked dirty, and so i assume that he was in the plot.

Bottom line, these ppl do anything to get money out of laowais. So i would second guess before jumping to conclusions.

Any one forgotten the pig blood sponge scam already? Any trusting the chinese officials or media, that would be a serious joke.

    • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

Everyone does anything for money. You just name the price, dont generalize the chinese like all chinese would do virtually ANYTHING for a handfull of dollars. I knoiw plenty of Chinese who would rather die then to embarass themselves.

In a country with 1.4 billion people, you look rather stupid if you draw them all over a red line.

      • Sarge

I disagree. Not EVERYONE will do anything for money. Some people, yes. Especially if you told a budding actor that a bit of “Street Theater” was planned in Beijing. Any actor looking to get their face in front of billions of people so that a film director might see them and decide to use them, might well decide to “take on such a role”. It’s happened before. It happens all the time here in the US. But many Chinese do have (and deep in their hearts) a hate for the “laowai”. Foreign Devils. White Ghosts. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. STOP THE HATE.

        • Capt. WED

RIGHT LOL. FUCK YOU. I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!

        • http://www.mikkietech.com Mikkie

I ask you to run naked across the lawn and i will give you 44 billion us$. Think again, everyone has a price. Even you. Would you kill? no, i give you world domination?

Its easy to say no.. by principle, morale or better judgement i would not do this or that regardless price.

But when presented the money you would.

        • Talkinaboutyou

Ok Sarge I’ve seen enough. You obviously have a very lack of understanding who Chinese people are and this ignorant mentality, as you may not notice it, is making you look like an idiot.
How could this be staged I asked you? Unless you give me proof, I don’t buy any of the conspiracy crap the Chinese government is using this as an anti-foreigner campaign method.
As for the term “foreign devils”, it was a term generated in the early 19th century when China had foreign spheres of influence. Today that term was not used primary as a form of hatred towards foreigners. Even so, people resort to “laowai”, which has no negative connotations whatsoever.
You might want to travel and experience a country before you make a generalization of a race. However, since based of your fear of the Chinese government and its people, I doubt you would.

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

I disagree with one point there. The term loawai is negative simply because it’s a generalization that covers the other 5.7 billion people in the world.

Add to that the amount of disrespect inherent in using a label rathrr than a person’s name, nationality or anything else and quickly because negative.

Then you have it yelled at you in the streets, whispered accompanied by pointing side-long glances and giggling and it’s really hard to see how it’s supposed to be positive at all.

I’ve yet to have a friend who introduces me as loawai or calls me loawai because it’s obviously improper manners.

Please don’t try to nitpick on it’s literal translation or historical use, because none of that really matters compared to it’s current use. Much like calling a man gay meant he was happy and excitable fifty years now means something entirely different.

        • Alan

But many Chinese do have (and deep in their hearts) a hate for the “laowai”. Foreign Devils. White Ghosts. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. STOP THE HATE.

Agreed, yet at the same time the girls value white skin, white skincare products sell well, and there is a demand for white models.

It is a love-hate relationship with whites imho.

With blacks, it is definitely pure hate, despite all the talk about basketball and stuff….you only need to read the racist comments about Mike Tyson when he visited (I think) Shanghai.

          • GodsHammer

And you are also wrong. Many feel that ‘at least blacks tell us the truth, whereas whites lie’ (it’s been said to me), and many see themselves as victims of white western oppression (similar to africans).

  • Kring723

i’m not chinese but if I see a guy trying to rape a woman or a young girl,, I will kick his ass

    • JSakamoto

  • Cyrus Howell

Just thinking that the British have the tendency to get drunk and act stupid. Foreigners forget where the are.
I threw an American out the door of a shuttle bus, and onto the tarmac in GuangZhou airport for putting his hands on a Chinese man. The American’s wife wife almost went next. They were rich Yuppies wearing HARDROCK CAFE, SHANGHAI T-shirts. If they want to go to a Hardrock Cafe they can do that in America the idiots. No problem. The Chinese people on the bus told the police what happened. The police settled it out of court. Ha. Ha. Yes.
Chinese people will sometimes push you out of the way in a market, a department store, Chinese fast food restaurant or the post office. It takes some time for Westerners, and especially Americans to get used to that. They forget they are just visitors.
China can hire me to knock the crap out of these “visitors”. Not for money just for legal permission to send them flying. I’d pay money to do it.

    • Alan

It takes some time for Westerners, and especially Americans to get used to that. They forget they are just visitors.

      I don’t agree.

How long does one have to be classed as a visitor?

And ill manners and pushing is always wrong.

I was at the same airport as you, waiting for a flight back to Ningbo. Some uppity bitch who was on the rag or something was screaming to her hen pecked husband to find a toilet, in her tantrum of running around she stepped on both my shoes without so much as an apology or any sign of acknowledging my existence.

At this point, rather than hit a woman, I walked up to her amore, told him to grow a spine, man up, and keep up his woman in check, because if he didn’t I would give her a good hard slap and tell her to sit the fuck down….

Rudeness is rudeness, and if you let people get away with it here, they will….guaranteed!

      • JSakamoto

You were in the right on this one. As much as I don’t like these self-righteous foreigners (I assume you’re foreign) that bitch should have been slapped no doubt. YOu were good not to lose your cool though, too many cameras and witnesses at the airport and you never know what will happen if things get seriously physical.

The rude behavior in China is irritating to no end, to me it would be impossible to ever get used to it no matter how long I stayed there. I’d just really love to see those chinese douches try this in America and get the shit kicked out of them.

        • Boris

‘Little boy’ -I thought you were going. Please sod off now before we drop a third one!

          • JSakamoto

OK “tiny” you can lick my balls too. Third one? WTF? I know english isn’t your first language so you have to be clear what you’re talking about.

          • Brett Hunan

            JSak…

It’s better to let him appear an ass than to reply in this “third one” case… Trust me.

          • Boris

            Brett,
I’m hardly the least tolerant person here, but if someone’s going to accuse 90% of whites in China of douchery, then they should expect a little bit of ‘fallout’.

    • Edison

“They were rich Yuppies wearing HARDROCK CAFE, SHANGHAI T-shirts”

Point of order. Rich American yuppies don’t wear Hardrock anything. Look for Patagonia or Cloudveil in travel clothes. Also look at the shoes. They wear boots or hiking shoes. Never tennis shoes. It sounds like you kicked off a couple from suburban St. Louis who were probably on their first trip to Asia, maybe even outside the US. Thanks for the memories. Now they’ll go home and tell everybody how crappy china is, if it really happened. You know, most people are reasonable and you can talk to them. If you thought they were being rude maybe you could have just explained to them why. If it really happened.

    • Little Wolf

Fuck off cyrus. Americans should go to Hard Rock Cafes in USA but not in Shanghai because……?
      I don’t get it.

  • xiao

this post is great. altho i cant help but notice… the girl looks like shes asking for it… it looks to me like shes grasping his genitals… and enjoying it. and the posts just seem to be another us vs them, chinese racism tword foreigners. should the color of his skin really matter? rape is unforgivable in my books. and if he truly raped her, then i hope they string him up by his balls.. and after those rip off, tooth by tooth. but really… seriously people. im not chinese, but i have 2 siblings who are. stop being so racist. it does no justice to the great people of china, who choose not to act like trash.

    • Alan

the girl looks like shes asking for it… it looks to me like shes grasping his genitals… and enjoying it.

Of course she is asking for it, wearing high heels, shorts, not all of them are so innocent.

This guy is lucky. If he was in the States, he would be prosecuted and jailed for 8 years. He will be registered as a Sexual Offender for the rest of his life. The inmates in jail would tear his ass up.

  • Laowai

The irony is that I know more Chinese who left China who despise everything that the Chinese have become than I know of non-Chinese who feel that way. The Chinese have emulated the West to such a fundamental level that they have lost their identity and are totally void of any and all common sense and decency. They hate themselves for being stuck in a “communist” society, but pride themselves for merely copying and emulating everything. If only they truly understood that China is the dump bucket of the West – of course we took all our factory jobs there…why pollute our own air, soil and water? Of course we invest in them, because they are suckers for materialism. Made in China = copied in China. Don’t worry, when India takes the helm, you will be crying for us Laowais to go back to your country and put our big white Western dicks in your cunts and asses.

  • JSakamoto

OK folks serious post here. I know not everyone likes me here, to put it mildly but I feel despite being an asshole, douchbag and a whole bunch of other things, I’ve contributed to some decent conversations here and bring a unique perspective to Chinasmack. Besides who hasn’t been an asshole douchbag at least occasionally here. I’ve been on this site for over a year I think although I only post a few times a month at most.

Here’s the deal: I’m taking votes on who wants me to stay or leave permanently. If I receive 10 or more votes then if I get 70% or more requesting me to leave I’ll leave permanently, 5-9 votes then I need 80% or more requesting me to leave. Less than 5 votes nothing will happen. The power is in your hands. And I also promise not to come back under a different name either.

    • mr. wiener

Tsk, tsk, It’s just me, me, me. Isn’t it? I’ll abstain from voting. Your destiny is your own.

Oh, fer fucks sake! Who gives a shit?

It’s not a club….even though weiner told me there was a secret handshake for “special members”. He also lied when he said “don’t worry Little Wolf, it tastes good”.

      • mr. wiener

That is just not true. I distinctly remember saying “Secret handjob” and I told you it was good for your skin.

    • mankouzanghua

chinaSMACK is full of that kind of hypocrisy. A lot of the comments would be good jokes and satire if they weren’t actually serious.

Remember the ATM queue jumper who was stabbed in the back? Some of the chinaSMACK commentariat actually argued that it was justifiable and desirable to stab him because cutting in line is uncivilized. Honestly, if someone can make that argument with a straight-face, they must be capable of convincing themselves of all kinds of illogical, contradictory fuckedupshit.

      • Shanghairen

Come on, you HAD to be cheering for the guy that stabbed the queue-jumper! How else can you stop these people? They think it’s normal. What else can change their mind?

        • dilladonuts

I was cheering for the that stabber, but was upset to find out the stabbed wasn’t a sang hai ning. =P

Donut, if you were stabbed there would be no blood on account of the fact that you’re an utter ring.

        • dilladonuts

          @Boris
          That was pretty lame.

          • Boris

I agree with you that there’s a lot of offensive finger pointing at Muslims in this thread.
But everytime I read one of your posts I’m overwhelmed by your racial hatred. Hence the ring comment.

  • Justin Thyme

First off this guy looks like the sort of Muslim trash that is running Britain and Northern Europe into the ground. They transfer their misogynistic mentality to civilized nations and beat and rape women with no guilt. He might have a British passport but he looks like Middle Eastern scum to me.

Second, what is all this crap from these retards here about how the girls deserves it? She is crying and pleading and who cares how she is dressed. Looks like I stumbles onto yet another den of dumbasses. Not all I can see. She is a victim and the Muslim ape is the perpetrator.

But we do get a good glimpse into the Chinese fighting method of kicking an unconscious man while he is down. Or it could have been an unconscious down for that matter I guess. This is so typically Chinese. Where were the heroes like that chicken shit when the Brazilian guy was getting beat up for stopping a thief in China? No doubt standing around gawking and rubber necking with his hands behind his back. Just waiting for one of those thieves to fall down unconscious then he would give him a good kick, don’t worry.

This story has brought out the ugly in a lot of people. The Chinese netizens on this “Burn Laowai Burn” kick, then the people here and CH are just going super racial. It’s pretty sad. CH is even worse, believe it or not, every other post seems to have some kind of black bashing in it.

Where’s Rodney King when you need him? Why can’t we all just get along?

        • Made In World

Let me rephrase one thing… some people here… not _the_ people here…

  • dilladonuts

I wonder how many white brits raped pakastanis during the colonized years? Brits love to colonize, claim something as theirs until shit goes down. ” HE IS NOT A BRIT, HE IS A PAKASTANI HOLDING A BRIT PASSPORT. “

    • Justin Thyme (aka Dan Danger)

Right. A Pakistani. An Animal. A low life. Scum. Human filth. I am on the same wavelength as you here donut dude.

    • KongMingQin

Well, being colonized/occupied by foreigners is a bad excuse for criminals from another country… If that was the true, how could China become stronger post Mongol [Yuan] dynasty, during the Ming?? or Russia without Germany?? US without Britain?? ;) think about it…

  • dim mak

Doesn’t matter if he’s white or muslim or Paki (looks like a Turk to me, I know from seeing many Turks in my lifetime). Point is, faggot rapist got his ass beat.

Also, stay the fuck away from our women.

    • Justin Thyme

Right, how can you Chinese guys beat and rape them when all these foreign devils are in your way. And since really in China the law really does not care about women being molested, beaten or raped (probably this Muslim low-life will be released after he sobers up) you can go have a field day.

Most foreigners in China re scumbags who can’t get a job (or a woman) in their own countries – this is indisputable to the majority of Chinese whether it is true or not (and it IS mostly true).

This girl looks like a prostitute who is trying to scam the foreigner.

    • http://www.google.de ponti

my thoughts exactly…even foreign LOSERS are preferred over locals in china and better paid.

      for a reason…..

Just like Chinese people are moving to Africa taking up jobs or businesses because there is less completion there and end up marrying the locals.

It’s spelled “Aussie” you nonce (pronounced “Ozzy”). Besides, that’s West Country English, Australian English is mostly just slurred Cockney with some different slang. If you are a “native speaker” yourself, you should at least be able to handle dialect.

stupid chinese arseholes. laowai does something and everyone stops to kick him and beat him down. post next to this shows a laowai stopping to help a mugging victim and gets beaten up by chinese while chinese by-standers just watched. whether you like it or not, we’re here to drag you sorry motherfuckers into the 21st century, cos you’re doing a shit job of it by yourselves. sorry this brit had a few too many and i certainly don’t excuse his behaviour, but you should all grow up and sort out your own sorry people before taking your anger out on laowai. sick of you racist fucks!

Whilst I think Choloboy has anger issues I can’t help seeing the way that “evil anon” has somehow turned turned this whole sorry issue around and made it out to be an attack on laowai !!! Christ on a bike man, where is your empathy!!?!
Let me put it this way. You say you are a Brit. If you witnessed an attack of this nature back on poverty rock would you stand round and applaud and high five the attacker? Probably not.
Lets take that example up a notch: You are walking home from the pub with your mates and you see a black guy , or a Pakistani fella engaged in what looks suspiciously like trying to rape a girl [white] outside a train station. Be honest, what is your reaction going to be? You may not “excuse his behaviour”. You’ll also kick 5 kinds of shite out of the bastard, and you will tell every one at work about it and tell everyone that Blacks\Pakistanis are well known rapist as well.
Our own “anon” can be a bit long winded for some people’s tastes, but he is honest at least.

Middle Eastern culture has a much different attitude to rape. Search the internet for “American Girl Porn” and then search “Middle East Girl Porn.” Which one brings up graphic videos of rape?

The way I liked to think of it is, God made flowers in every color. Why wouldn’t it He do the same for human kind?

      • maja75 (aka coala banana)

thats an interesting point, but it sounds like daydreaming to me. You don’t really think that some sort of god made flowers and humans ? That would be an extraordinary claim, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. The last time i checked it was very well explained and proven with facts, how humans and flowers came into being…..glad you said that you “like to think”..does that mean that you don’t believe it actually ? And BTW what is wrong with the fact how things really came into existence ? Is that in your opinion less beautiful and colorful ?

        • Brett Hunan

Great! Now were going to have another 500 post thread about whether or not there is a God (somehow Africans and Afghanis, whites and Chinese will be thrown in)…

Maja this is the same kind of intolerance for people’s personal beliefs that begin wars (or flaming contests). An educated person like yourself should know where to draw the line.

People who nitpick religious people’s words and try to enforce their own beliefs are no better than the religious people who do the same. Frankly, anyone who does it sounds like a bit of an ass.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

intolerance ? it would be deeply ignorant, irresponsible to let such an extraordinary claim (like god made it) acceptable. Being called intolerant might be the “price” one has to pay from time to time…

why some humans are black, white, red or yellow or whatever is pretty straight forward, its not a theory whats or ever, its a simple fact. Same for colors of flowers and the animal kingdom. When we as humans allow that people which like to explain such things with gods will and try to bring their extraordinary claims into schools and classrooms, then everyone with common sense should call them out on that, at the price of being called intolerant. Its not a question of intolerance, cause people are free to believe whatever they want, but its dangerous and irresponsible to let such people spread their crazy ideas and sell it as fact, at the risk that another dumb generation is raised and abused within such intolerant believes.

But yes, you are right, this subject has nothing to do with the original article.

          • mr. wiener

‘Twas just a whimsy on Notorious’ part. No need to make a federal case out of it. For one thing it plays into the hands of creationist crackers when you jump all over any hint o’ divine intervention with spiked boots on.

Have you checked behind your ear for any numbers lately?

        • simon

last time i checked, bing bag theory, was still a theory not a fact. evolution is still a theory not a fact, there is as yet no clear evidence that proves man evolved from primates.

unless i of course misunderstand what a fact means.

though it is good that science continues to search for the answer.

and i am not taking sides on science or religion. just correcting a point

          • simon

*big bang, note the error before i get flamed..

          • Made In World

            What’s a bing bag theory?

          • mr. wiener

Maybe it’s the “big bag” theory. I causes the owner of the afore mentioned set of genitalia to step in and get involved in stopping crimes committed in public.
For women the “big bag” theory causes the to all intents sensible and smart women to spend large amounts of money on Prada and other brands:)

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

            bing bang ? lol

i am sure you mean big bang ? however, it explains just how the universe came into being….life is in a different ballpark.

I also think that you should at least try to understand what ‘theory’ in scientific terms means.

          • simon

i believe it means precisely what it means, a theory. a theory that needs to be tested for accuracy.

you state that science explains and proves the existence of humans through facts, when in actual fact it is just theories. Now if it indeed was factual, it would be an extraordinary claim and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence ;)

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

mr. wiener, THAT was an interesting observation AND……’theory’(can we call it that) ?

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

simon, pardon me, but i must remind you AGAIN to find out on your own what ‘theory’ in scientific terms means….in particular evolutionary theory through natural selection….and YES, its proven by facts and overwhelming evidence on the subject. Its by no means an extraordinary fact, rather then just a fact, and proven all over again by researches and experiments to be right on. You know that in science you actually make points when you prove things as being false ?

But come one, evolutionary theory by natural selection is pretty straight forward. Or at least it should be by now….

          • mr. wiener

Look out you’ve set Simon off…….*sigh* and so it begins.

          • donscarletti

The “theory of evolution” is theory in the same way “number theory” is theory, the “theory of gravity” is theory, etc.

The theory of evolution’s core is not a history of how man came into being. Evolution’s core is explaining how organisms change over many generations in response to environmental stimuli, such as observable today on a smaller scale (mutant viruses, Flynn effect, black moths, etc.). As far as primates are concerned, what’s in the past is relevant only for constructing models for understanding the present and future. Using these models to predict the past doesn’t gain us anything.

If you don’t want to believe humanity descended from apes, that’s fine. But if you think evolution’s basic theory has a problem you need to present better evidence than pointing out that it suggests humans are most likely descended from apes.

          • simon

maja, natural selection doesn’t prove how humans came into existence… it does prove how some animals have survived over others, how some animals came into being in their habitats etc.

again my point being that evolution has not proven through fact how humans came into existence. it is still a theory.

show me the steps by steps in which single cell organisms have evolved into human beings.

facts are verified by repeatable experiments, you’re telling me that science has been able to TEST this???? it’s a theory!!

          • simon

let me simplify it this way.

gravity – fact, you can test it by throwing an object and seeing it fall to the ground.

evolution proving how humans came into being – theory. there is NO WAY you are able to test this.

          • SuperHappyCow

            You’ve misunderstood what:

            1: A theory is.
            2: A fact is.
3: The purpose of research is.

-A theory is an explanatory model of reality that can be applied to reality and returned with consistent results.
-A fact is something that’s demonstrably true under a set of conditions. A fact doesn’t always have to be true.
-Research is used to gather facts and form theories.

So The Theory of Gravitation, for example, isn’t really provable, as it’s not really an accurate model of the universe under all conditions, say, beyond the event horizon of a black hole.

It is, however, applicable when we’re doing things like launching giant missiles the size of buildings into space.

So, yeah. The Big Bang is theory, but there’s a ton of evidence to support it, for instance, planets moving further away from Earth appearing to be red on the electromagnetic spectrum.

It’s a Theory, and one that seems pretty damn accurate.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

simon, please, do some research first. In your words we could also assume that the theory of general relativity is also just a theory ? :-))….

I don’t know why this term carry such a big weight for you. A theory in scientific terms is not a guess or a speculation. A theory in scientific terms is built on hypothesis and EVIDENCE. BUILT is the main term here which helps to understand reasoning and logical connections based on the hypotheses and evidence. Is that really so hard to understand.

You even mention gravity, even gravity is also called the theory of gravity, so does that make it same like general relativity just a theory ??? If we want to believe you, then the answer might be yes. You can not pick out of convenience what YOU think is is theory in everyday understanding and what is in the understanding of science.

Of course, theories can be proven wrong with the time when new data comes in, thats the beauty of science, but is that enough reason to just bend over and pray to an invisible man in the sky ?

We have theory of mechanics, theory of thermodynamics, theory of electromagnetism, and many more which have very solid ground, in both evidence and reasoning. So they are too just theories ?

See, what Mr/Mrs Notorious claimed was supernatural creation, which is even sold as FACT :-) by the religious folks. It leads to nothing at all and it leads nowhere, except to some simple and narrow minded explanation to oneself.

Evolution not proven ? how about DNA ? you really don’t know where humans come from and how they evolved over time ?

Its funny how you claim that gravity and relativity are facts, based on that things fall down :-)). Let me tell you that its not so easy. Relativity is to a much lesser extend explained then evolution. More over its contradicting with quantum mechanics, even both are FACTS. Its just that we still haven’t found all the answers to make a general theory of everything complete. But one day this will happen soon. It will never be proven as false in the future, just not complete.

But again, not enough reason to search for answers in the supernatural and stop asking questions and doing research, and take everything what was written in a book from the bronze age for granted as fact and evidence.

So yes, you should over think your wrong understanding of “theory” from a scientific point of view, and mr/Mrs notorious should learn why flowers and humans come in different colors, shapes and forms. I am sure that even the most simple sources like wikipedia can explain that in a way which is understandable for most people. You should try that….

          • SuperHappyCow

“gravity – fact, you can test it by throwing an object and seeing it fall to the ground.”

Yes, but what makes gravity a theory is that there’s a scientific model based in research, and gathering observable facts, that allows us to explain why things of low density get pulled towards other things of high density. If you threw an apple, and observed that the apple fell towards the earth, you would not have designed a theory, just an observation.

“again my point being that evolution has not proven through fact how humans came into existence. it is still a theory.”

You know, evolution is really one of those things that if you think about it, for even a minute or so, it’s absolutely logical.

The basic idea is something along the lines of: since genetics are passed down from parent to child, with a combination of both parents genes, and some random variation of hidden, non-superficial traits, if everyone who has a specific trait that prevents them from being able to survive a new environment dies, unable to pass on the genes, the survivors are far less likely to pass down those traits.

So over a really, really, really long period of time, as animals travel through a variety of environments, changes will be apparent, and new animals will propagate.

That’s about it. If the “Fickbohm” clan are the only group of people on earth, and they share genetics that prevent their thumbs from maturing in size, outside of a civilization, they may not have the ability to pass on those traits, and in a century or so, you won’t see any other great, great grand children of the elder Fickbohms with 8 fingers and 2 stubs.

Don’t wash, don’t rinse, but simply repeat.

          • Brett Hunan

            @maja:

            See?

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

Brett, i know what you mean, but bowing down and keep quite to the most ridiculous claims and ‘truths’ is by example what we see in china, where the official rule is “to be quite and not to disturb the peace”. While i must admit that it might work more or less well in china and that it might be a good solution and rule for the average chinese citizen and the CCP, it should be considered intolerant and evil when applied as a counterargument against the very basic understanding of logic and reason ?

This is not intended to be an argument of evolution vs creationism, cause i think there is not much one can argue about with a person which really thinks that the bible or quaran are the words of a god. I too would prefer that religious people would just discuss amongst each others a about which one of the thousand gods is the real one, but we must live with the fact that religious people are trying to gain ground into politics and education. THIS makes it a responsibility in every days life to call this people out each time they claim their dangerous nonsense.

If by now, someone still don’t understand why humans have different skin tones and eyes, then this has nothing to do with the lack of existing evidence, but with a deeply ignorant approach on life in general. So yes, its contra life and contra civilization, therefor enough reason given to step and to throw in one or the other point….

          • Boris

Sweet fucking Christ. Shoot me in the face!

          • mr. wiener

        • Notorious

Warning: A bit more whimsy for you if you don’t mind. I’m a bit of an idealist…

I love both science and the concept of God. Why not make a science of God and study it? Is it a physical phenomenon as some scientists suggest, whereas a certain region of the brain is active when people have a religious experience? Is it metaphysical? Is it materialism? Dualism? What is God, what is that intangible thing that can neither be quantified or explained? Is that why so many evolutionists, and dare I say scientist, fear it?

What are YOU? Can we explain what a soul or a personality is? You , Mala would seem to be a materialist. A person who believes that a soul does not exist and that we are merely biological components compelled by chemical reactions in our body. As materialism suggests that even our decision making processes are are compelled by aversion or desire according to how chemicals react in our bodies.

I am more of a dualist, I believe that there is a metaphysical component to our universe that coincides with our physical reality.

What are you made of? And I don’t mean flesh, bone, synapses, or the electric firings that make up your nervous system. If we are all made of the same genetic material, with some small varying degrees of DNA, why do you “THINK” as you do, and why do I? Why are we not the same mentally or cognitively?

What is a thought? Can you prove it exists? It cannot be quantified or examined AND yet, here we are… thinking, writing, examining, feeling. Our feelings are controlled by the limbic system in our brain and when that is damaged, so is our personalities… whatever that might be. It is said that a mind cannot live without a body, but can a body live without a mind? Yes. But the body becomes useless without a mind. Where does the mind go when a body is dead? Does it vanish? What happens to its energy? Rule of thumb in physics is that, ENERGY cannot be destroyed, only transferred.

God is pure energy, sentient and life giving. What non-believers fail to understand is that the only relevant science to the existence of God is FAITH. BELIEF.

If you were walking down the street and a strong wind blew across your face, would you question the existence of wind because you are unable to see it? The effects are there, the impact of its force on your skin, newspaper and leaves scattering across the ground. What is wind? The movement of air. The transferrence of energy.

What is your mind made of? When your body dies, and decays into the earth, where does your mind go? Unlike the body, it cannot decay because it is metaphysical. Until we can explain such things, it is unfair to dismiss the notion of that which we do not understand, because it cannot be quantified, filed or examined.

          • SuperHappyCow

“Why not make a science of God and study it?”

“What is God, what is that intangible thing that can neither be quantified or explained?”

I don’t really know how else to put this, but you just explained it, essentially. You can’t scientifically study something immeasurable.

“What non-believers fail to understand is that the only relevant science to the existence of God is FAITH. BELIEF.”

Faith is the opposite of science, dude. It’s the belief in something without the necessity of proof. That’s it’s definition. That idea is irremovable from the word and realm of faith, and it is what is used to describe one’s willingness to accept a God.

“What is your mind made of? When your body dies, and decays into the earth, where does your mind go? Unlike the body, it cannot decay because it is metaphysical. Until we can explain such things, it is unfair to dismiss the notion of that which we do not understand, because it cannot be quantified, filed or examined.”

Sure. I always question what happens to the mind after death, which is where my own personal spirituality comes in, rather than believing in what someone else told me to. And please, don’t try to conflate scientific evidence, and theories with belief, or faith, that won’t work. : P

It may seem unfair to dismiss the notion that God exists, but the idea that he exists has no practical application to anything other than spirituality. The supernatural, by its definition, is something that can’t be explained, or observed in nature. It exists outside of reality. Claiming an all powerful being that exists outside of reality, as being responsible for some phenomena means that you no longer have the responsibility of explaining it, and applying that explanation, because the explanation exists outside of reality.

Your ability to communicate with me using facsimiles of text that appear on your screen isn’t enabled by one person on one end praying the the other spiritually receive the idea. That ability has been produced by hundreds of thousands of hours of scientific research, and the moment we would have filled any gap in knowledge with “god” as an explanation, is the moment that research would have fallen apart.

            Ay, SuperHappyCow,

The word “supernatural” is an archaic term, to me it is no different from using the word “magic” lol.

Remember the story of how Galileo was renounced by the Catholic Church and sentenced to house arrest to live out the rest of his days because he dared to imagine that the sun evolved around the Earth?

What was the Catholic Church guilty of, other fear of losing power and control? They were limited in their thinking. Imagine if Isaac Newton had never used his imagine, to even think or imagine something as unique as the concept of gravity, simply because it could neither be explained or quantified. There is nothing “supernatural” or magical about the concept of God or an all powerful superbeing Who exists outside the realm of “physical” possibility? A metaphysical Spirit/Ghost — this is simply an aspect of our being that has yet to be explored or understood. God is a force of Energy, and that is where prayer comes in, which is how spiritual people commune with that energy force… they can feel it, which is why they believe.

Let’s not condemn what we don’t understand, but open our minds.

I meant dared to imagine that the sun DID NOT revolve around the earth.

          • SuperHappyCow

Notorious, “opening your mind” to the idea of a God having created the universe is pointless, because it serves no utility. Gods are immeasurable, and infinite things. There are many of them, and we’ve never seen, or heard from one, because they cannot, by definition, occur in reality.

“There is nothing “supernatural” or magical about the concept of God or an all powerful superbeing Who exists outside the realm of “physical” possibility? A metaphysical Spirit/Ghost — this is simply an aspect of our being that has yet to be explored or understood.”

Yep. That’s actually the definition of supernatural. If it exists beyond physical possibility, i.e, reality, then it is not of nature. It’s beyond nature, and supernatural.

It’s immeasurable, and hence, untestable, and unpredictable. So you could not study a “god” scientifically. Those claiming to have seen, or known are either lying for their own personal gain, or have mental problems.

There’s nothing wrong with spirituality, however. That’s different from an intended uniform, organized belief in a god, which is something that should not be applied to societies.

        • Notorious

“See, what Mr/Mrs Notorious claimed was supernatural creation, which is even sold as FACT :-) by the religious folks. It leads to nothing at all and it leads nowhere, except to some simple and narrow minded explanation to oneself. ”

Miss would do just fine, thank you Mala. But allow me to make this fine point… which is that, I made no “claim” as fact. I said “I LIKE to think…” God created flowers in every color, why would he not do the same for human kind? Lovely thought, is it not? And merely an opinion, an ideal that only a person with a pouch for a brain would subject to deeper scrutiny. But perhaps, this was a conversation you wanted to have and a damned good conversation it is.

What is the theory of relativity, ie, E=MC (Earth times the speed of light squared!) My dear child, the theory of relativity is not an explanation as to HOW or why we exist, but measurement of one of the finer points of our existence. A measurement of what is already there. You’ve gone quite off track as the topic of gravity has no relationship to God other than to ask, or prove whether or not God created gravity – a question no one can answer. I’m going to give you a layman’s explanation of what GRAVITY is.

Gravity, spacetime, mass… are all in the same family. An object with mass, creates a distortion of space, resulting in the movement of physical bodies. A measurement of the movement of physical bodies, is what we call “time” or a disruption of the space-time continuum. When the mass of a physical body results in the movement of other physical bodies or objects, that’s gravity. Gravity can also be measured by the movement of light.

Now, an example of Gravity would be if four of us held a blanket and I placed a heavy bowling ball at the center of it. What happens to the blanket? It becomes “distorted” with the center of it sinking in, resulting in the semi-flat shape of a funnel. Now, if we took a smaller objects, like a golf ball and a couple of marbles and sat it on the blanket, the smaller objects would not remain in one spot like the bowling ball. Why? Because the mass of the bowling ball has distorted the fabric of space [the blanket] around it, causing the marbles and the golf ball to gravitate toward the bowling ball (ie, rolling down the blanket towards it). The stronger the mass, the greater the distortion around the physical body which also effects the speed that the marbles and golf ball would fall toward it (time).

The reason I mention all of these points is to say, and unlike many people here, I don’t rely on google to discuss these things, I make my own examples and have studied these topics a fair deal. So I don’t speak from ignorance.

Time, measurements, science, GOD are all good subjects. But what does astrophysics (the study of large bodies) or even quantum physics (the study of small bodies) have to do with the existence of God? We are only measuring and quantifying things that exist in nature. There is no explanation as to why nature exists in the first place or how it got here.

You said my comment about flowers was narrow minded… who’s the narrow minded one? The one who thinks all things can and must be solved through a scientic explanation? Or one who sees not only science but a metaphysical and spiritual explanation? If anything, I’m far more imaginative than you are.

This leaves me furious! “British Man?” Hogwash. Just some unidentified psychic moron who happens to carry a British passport. Obviously, by the looks of it and the information above about as “British” as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself. Yet singlehandedly once again getting a complete Chinese backlash against all Brits like myself, who always treat the Chinese (and all human beings) with utmost respect.

I live in China. Among my friends I have many Chinese, but also Africans, Europeans, Christians and Muslims. I am Jewish.

still so many unclear points. The scene looks disturbing and a lot of the video is missing, and i assume its missing for a good reason. The guys looks either drunk or out of his mind, the girl too….why is she holding him/pulling his shirt at the beginning of the video ? another point which caught my eye was, why is his shirt out of his pants at the beginning of the video, but after the beating its inside the pants ?

so far it could be everything, from a real rape attempt to a set up by the girl and her “friends”….

    • mr. wiener

I’d prefer to give the benefit of the doubt to the girl at present whilst keeping an open mind. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

      • maja75 (aka coala banana)

wouldn’t agree with you that the simplest explanation IS usually the correct one, but in THIS case you are most likely right, since there are not many complicated attributes involved when judging only on the basics of bad humanoid virtues.

    • Stu

What kind of setup involves letting your intended victim be carried away and interviewed by police? Particularly when it will be a high-profile case?

  • elizabeth

Everyone is free to believe whatever they want but not when evolutionists think it is crazy to believe in a God and demands that creationists stop sharing their ideas because the big bang is all that we can believe.

I would like to know how the big bang came about. How is it proven and scientific? If it is not proven, how can we even fathom telling the children that it is a fact and the beginning of humankind?

I’d say, let’s hear it from both camps and let the individual decide.

But maybe not in this thread. It’s out of point.

    • maja75 (aka coala banana)

lets hear it from both camps ?

actually one can hear it in both camps ! one camp is in schools, universities and institutes, and the other one is in churches, temples, synagogues and mosques.

I do have a problem with, when the unreasonable camp like to have influence in education and politics. I also have a problem with them abusing their own children scaring them with punishment, torture and hell in the afterlife, trying to force morals on them rather then teaching them something useful and let morals and ethics to develop naturally.

See science has no problem at all with saying: i/we don’t know yet !…in case a bullet proof explanation is not accessible.

When you personally don’t understand certain rules of science and don’t know how to appreciate life changing discoveries, then it doesn’t make them less true. Quantum mechanics is hard to understand to a full extend even by an expert, but it doesn’t make it less true and valuable. Its still a fact.

Of course its easier and more convenient, to claim that god made it, and expect that people should take that for granted. Well, as we know many still do take it for granted, without any sort of evidence. And even it misses ALL reason and logic, it has one very strong weapon on its side, and that is peoples ignorance, out of convenience thinking and laziness. It works easy and fact, and supports the simple and narrow minded way. Science takes longer, cause it requires education, questions, answers, experiments, facts and reason…such things usually take a bit longer then just bowing down and praying to the holy spirit or to the mujumbo god on the bottom of the sea….

    • SuperHappyCow

Why do the religious like to use the word “believe” when talking about a scientific minded person’s thoughts about a theory? Theories are not something to believe in, and they cannot be proven. They can only be dis proven.

Why? Theories are used to explain observable facts and build models of reality that are testable, and predictable under certain conditions. Science is how we have things like the television, airplanes, space ships, medicine, and architecture. These theories that we use to mathematically describe reality are accurate, but not perfectly applicable to every state of reality. That’s why we keep researching to come closer to the truth, although, aside from practical applications, we can never have the 100 percent, absolute truth.

The Big Bang Theory seems to be an accurate model of how the universe came about based on a heap of evidence. It cannot be “proven” firstly, because we can’t really go back in time, and second, because theories simply can’t be proven, but only refined.

      • elizabeth

Let’s not get anal with semantics and look at the core issues. The Big Bang Theory – has it been proven? It seems, but still, it SEEMS.

Why is it fine when scientific ‘experts’ accept gaps in their quest for truth, but ridiculous when people of faith accept gaps as part of their quest for truth?

Is science the only way to ascertain the uncertain? No, it is just one avenue in a broad spectrum that belongs to a truly open mind.

        • simon

thank God (tongue in cheek), someone understands what i’m saying. some people just don’t see how ignorant they are.

one last word, i used gravity to make a point. you are able to TEST the theory of gravity maja but YOU CAN NOT TEST the theory of evolution on human kind you CAN ONLY MAKE ASSUMPTIONS based on limited evidence.

Evolution WILL NEVER be able to prove for a FACT that humans evolved from single cell organisms it can only be a logical assumption.

Please be able to differentiate fact from theory.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

            wow:-), so:

DNA, the genetic sequence of organisms, fossil records, microfossils, anatomy, embryonic development, biochemistry, bacteria, evidence of common descent, viruses, proteins, african origin, paleontology, geographical distribution, migration, isolation, lactose, artificial selection and all the evidence from mathematical iteration and computation…..just to name a few…

are all (from YOUR point of view), “just assumptions and limited evidence” ???

“Evolution WILL NEVER be able to prove for a FACT that humans evolved from single cell organisms it can only be a logical assumption.”

oh boy ! :-))) don’t let me start with that. I trust that when you go to google and type in “humans evolved from single cell organisms”, or something similar you might get millions of results (incl a few links to religious right wing sites which claim that evolutionary theory is a conspiracy)…why not try it ? In case you don’t understand it, you will still have the freedom to link into a crazy religious side and found all the “scientific evidence” for the opposite. Either way, its a win win for you :-))

          • SuperHappyCow

Yeah, actually, we have tested evolution. And we have forced life forms to evolve by extensive breeding. See bananas, corn, and cows.

But don’t tell Ray Comfort. It’s a secret.

        • maja75 (aka coala banana)

elizabeth, i somehow have the feeling that even IF you would one day found proof for the big bang, you would still claim that it was orchestrated by god.

See even the veeery conservative catholic church and the Vatican no longer deny evolution. It took some time, but its now in written form for over decades. In the times your bible was written there was no science, so the people at that time had a very narrow minded angle of view on things and how they work. I don’t blame them, but i do blame the ones which prefer to remain ignorant more then 2000 years later when a lot of the evidence and research results are available for FREE !

People (incl.religious people) thought that the earth was flat, they were proven wrong. Then they though that the earth is circling around the sun and that we are in the center of the universe, and again science proved them to be wrong. They denied evolution and again science proves them wrong. The sad thing is that when a bright mind hundreds of years ago spoke about such things, most likely the church accused them of blasphemy and challenging god. They tortured them, burned them and punished them. There are countless examples, but you will get my point that religious is a teaching of no doubts, no questions and it doesn’t provide is with any answers. Science does, reason does and logic does. It does so with critical thinking and an open mind. You form of open mind requires just FAITH alone. An open mind can’t be really called a pre requirement for believing in a god, cause the opposite is true. It requires a very narrow mind and closed mind which holds you back to develop further in critical, logical and rational thinking.

When facts don’t support the theory, scientists reject that theory. When facts don’t support the theists beliefs, the theists reject those facts. And then you talk about having open minds ? Its always funny when someone religious thinks that people outside his faith should have or are missing an open mind….

          • elizabeth

Is that your lengthy way of saying, the Big Bang is not proven?

Do you realize that you are also going by faith, that someday, your great scientific heroes will be able to piece together all the evidence that the big bang did happen?

Sorry, my open mind is more than just faith alone. I think you need to do some research yourself about the Christian faith and what Christians believe because what you have written betrays a very shallow understanding that appears to be based on bits and pieces of the ‘conservative’ Catholic church history. Not that there is anything wrong about being conservative except that it grates liberals to no end. And there is much logic in what the Christians practice. Bet you didn’t know that either.

Do you know the difference between the Catholic faith and Christianity?

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

sad that you see it like that:-(….

my job is not to prove the big bang to religious people. While i am of course very interested how it all started, its not my top priority in life.

What i found that all you people have in common is, when nothing else is left, then you come with the big bang or single cell into human, missing links etc…i have no faith and believes. I for now like to KNOW so i stick to facts and accept that in case someone don’t knows the answer, then he/she just says i don’t know (yet). Whats wrong with that ?

I really applaud the catholic church for putting it into writing that evolutionary theory is no longer contradicting with their faith. Ok, now they claim that god made evolution possible, but its still light years ahead of american right wing neo con religious freaks and hardcore creationists over there.

Who knows maybe on day aliens will land to say hello. Then most likely the religious folks will make out of them gods children too, or devils ? I understand that it can be very hard to over think your own position especially if its based on faith. So yes, its most likely a neurological problem within peoples brains…this takes some time to develop….

          • elizabeth

If you insist that yours is the ONLY plausible approach that leaves not room for tolerance or coexistence with other approaches, of course you will have to prove your stand.

Me, I didn’t. I simply responded to your unreasonable demands when all you had is still what SEEMS.

And yes, when all else fails, the Big Bang fans will call dish out the ‘neurotic’ label. What’s new?

          • elizabeth

Ah yes, maybe someday we will all evolve into aliens. That’s that the scientific ‘experts’ imply. We are constantly evolving, from amoeba to aliens…sounds great. Neurotic? Nah.

Can’t blame those ‘religious’ folks :D

        • SuperHappyCow

See, Elizabeth, you have to get specific about semantics or else you will never be able to understand a complex idea. I don’t think you understand that one can’t really prove a theory. To be able to prove a theory suggests that it would not be able to be falsifiable, i.em you can’t learn anything else about it or design another mathematical model that would more effectively describe that facet of reality. I already explained that to you. If you don’t get it, read it again. “Semantics” and nuance are not your enemy. They’ll help you learn something.

There is a big difference between science and religion filling gaps. The religious can always fill gaps with God, and that’s how it has been since we’ve learned how to think.

Fire? God. Gravity? God. Lightning? God. Earthquakes? Angry God.
This method of filling an intellectual gap with a being of infinite power taking a responsibility relieves you of the responsibility to have to actually explain how that phenomena takes place, and use that knowledge appropriately.

Gravitation, like The Big Bang, is still a theory that is not completely accurate, but it still can be applied to facets of reality in such a way that it’s useful.

Science is the only way to ascertain anything about the world that can be used in such a way that it would benefit mankind. Look at any piece of technology you own that makes your life far easier, then list for me how many of them were prayed into being, and not created by man using scientific theories.

If you’re still not getting it:

    • Capt. WED

the big bang theory is a model where a general consensus exists among the scientific community agreeing that it best (currently) explains the dynamical evolution of matter in the universe. As a model it’s validated through observations like the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation, through experiments in high energy physics, and through peer reviewed abstract mathematical reasoning. It’s a model–as such it contains simplified assumptions. It does not claim it can fully describe 100% of reality. Anyone is welcomed to point out it’s faults and come up with a better model.

The Big Bang Theory IS science. LOL.

      • Capt. WED

Also BTW, a model is worthless if it fails to predict anything…. if it strays too far from observation. Big Bang Model can generally be used to describe the structure of the universe, matter, and the cosmic microwave background. It’s like I making cartoons, if an apple in my cartoon falling from a tree looks like an apple falling from a tree, I made a pretty good cartoon.

        • maja75 (aka coala banana)

          … a very interesting example !

      • elizabeth

Yes, a consensus among the scientific community only, rightly put. And the big bang theory has many models…

I have no problem with that. What irks me is when people exert their scientific slant on others who do not agree with that approach, and call them names…and apply double standards.

That is why I said, let’s here it from both camps and let the individual decide.

        • Capt. WED

          who does that??? LOL

          Maybe only in your mind!

Or maybe those scientist you speak of went mad from you guys constantly trolling… or maybe they’re trolling…

No seriously I agree some people are like that. I personally don’t have a problem with you not believing in things you don’t want to believe in. I guess. I personally have a very deep faith in a deity called the Universal Dark Lord of Science. It’s a long story…

        • Capt. WED

Also in the Ms. Princess of Time–the Almighty Catgirl.

          • elizabeth

Lol! Right, tell me all about them captain, if you wish.

well, one camp, used the last few thousand years to make their point and taught their nonsense and punished, tortured, and burned people alive who didn’t agree with them. Along the way, they stoned, beheaded and genital humiliated their way to prove their point. They rely on fairy tale stories and offer prayers and hopes. They wish that the world comes to an end so their savior will show up for a second time. They are convinced that they will sit next to their messiah at one table after they die and hold conversation with all the famous stars and their ancestors. Another faith offers 72 virgins for the ones which are ready to die for it.

The individual has already chosen, and the results show clearly that most of them chose the easy religious way. Thats not unusual for people with a neurological disorders. The good thing that more and more people actually look through all this fake faiths and hopefully reason will find its way. At least we are not tortured and punished any longer when raising simple questions and looking for alternative answers (well, we all know that this is STILL not the common case)…..

          • elizabeth

Sorry dear, what you have claimed the sins of the religious, can be applied to all humanity in general, including the Nazis and their holocaust and the Japanese who occupied other countries during WW2. I suppose they were also very religious folks…

As such your point is moot.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

they indeed were religious to the point that Hitler was a catholic, maybe not a practicing catholic, but for sure his SA and SS troops were mainly catholics and protestants. The fact that “jews” killed jesus became a common excuse to commit the crimes they did.

Japans emperor was a god like figure for the japanese. They worshipped him, a cult like society brainwashed and raised in the believe that he is a god-king/divine king. Kinda like communist korea displays the Kim’s. Its all the same “sport”.

You could also claim that Stalin and Mao did the evil things they did cause they were atheist/non believers. Stalin for sure whas, but that doesn’t make it true that he committed the crimes he did cause of his atheism. The commie rule in russia by example was just possible cause it evolved out of a monarchy a deep patriarchal religious believe with the Zsar and his family on top of all that. Stalin would have been incredibly stupid if he would NOT used that form of existing brainwashed people to achieve his own evil goals.

So yes, all the examples you mentioned were able to rule and commit crimes cause of people who are affected and like to worship a cult like figure.

Same like you people claim that jesus could walk on water the north koreans claim that their divine leader

You control people and keep them in line with such extraordinary claims, and as we can see it still works until today in so many societies. You people claim that jesus was born by a virgin. In north korean schools, they teach the divine birth legend of their dear leader, saying that a double rainbow and a glowing new star appeared in the heavens to herald the birth of Kim Jong Il, in 1942, on North Korea’s cherished Baekdu Mountain. More then that they are taught that his birthday is celebrated all over the world !

Your jesus cured the eyes of a blind man, BUT Kim wrote 1500 books in just 3 years time and wrote 6 operas on top of that !

Your bible reports that jesus woke up a dead man, and Koreans are taught that in 1994, the first time Kim picked up a golf club, he shot a 38-under par round on North Korea’s only golf course, including 11 holes-in-one !!! Reports say EACH of his 17 bodyguards verified the record-breaking feat. He then decided to retire from the sport forever.:-))

i will stop here, in hope you will get the point. Fact is that when that is possible now, then how easy it was to claim all kind of things 2000 years ago, make it a few hundred years later a state religion, give the church unlimited power so they can enforce it onto the masses, and voila the brainwashing still lasts until today.

Both ways show how divine planing can be implemented into a strong believe even today. Christianity had 2 thousand years time and was created when people didn’t know crap about the world, the universe and everything else. The real sad things is that they still don’t know anything about it now, and even fight any attempt of questioning their faiths.

            Anything else ?

          • elizabeth

Wow, love your logic. So, I bathe everyday. That means you also believe what I believe unless you do not er…clean every day.

            Lol!

So, all the inmates in our prisons are religious fanatics. I can trust you to prove that too :D

Right, Elijah, I shall not waste any more comment space. I am satisfied with the rubble that’s left of her arguments.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

pardon me elizabeth, but i think we have reached a point where a further discussion really becomes a waste of time:-)…but i do accept your white flag !

hope that one day you will be able to open your mind and see things how they really are. The world isn’t so bad and gives you no reason to hate life and threaten small children with eternal torture. I know you guys can’t wait for judgment day to come and the second coming of your savior, but i give you a tip:

            don’t hold your breath ! :-)

        • SuperHappyCow

Elizabeth, it’s impossible for science to “cooperate” with religion, because religion is faith based, i.e. you have an absolute belief in something, whether or not you have evidence.

Science is the opposite. It is not based on faith, or belief. It’s based on accruing facts about reality in such a way that we can explain just how reality works, and use it to our advantage. A scientific model(theory) needs to be predictable, but disprovable.

God is neither, that’s why God does not exist within the scientific community, although scientists can be religious.

  • Made In World

Interesting comment made by a Shanghai friend of mine, who I dub Confucius, as some of the stuff that comes out of this guy’s mouth… well…

We were talking about how the Chinese were jumping all over this story (no pun intended) and laowai bashing (and by the way, I think the number is about 10,000, which for China really isn’t a lot)….

“The people from the west seem to keep waiting for the Chinese to show that they have morals, and the Chinese seem to keep waiting for the foreigners to show they have none.”

    • fredf

“The people from the west seem to keep waiting for the Chinese to show that they have morals, and the Chinese seem to keep waiting for the foreigners to show they have none.”

Wow, so funny yet so true.

  • elizabeth

Sad to say, but you have a very narrow view of what religion is to the people of those faiths you listed. Ironical, since you had earlier insinuated that religion leads to narrow-mindedness. I had actually wanted to let it go, but since you asked for it, let’s talk about it.

For one, Christianity is not confined to churches. It is not about pious acts of religious rituals which you and many others who loathe ‘religious people’ think, but a way of life for Christians. Contrary to what you think, Christianity is not about self, but being selfless like Christ.

I bet you didn’t know that.

Before you assert you ‘territory’ and forbid Christians to speak about their faith, I’d like to ask you on what basis it is that you claim your beliefs are the only worthwhile ones that deserve a hearing in schools and public places.

You could start by answering my question – has science proven the big bang? If not, aren’t your beliefs, one of which is that there is no God because the universe came as a big bang, just as flimsy as those of the ‘religious’ people you deride so much?

How then, do you have the audacity to claim that others’ beliefs are crazy and yours the most rational? To me, the big bang is the craziest thing conjured up by people who simply refuse to think and open their minds to possibilities (another irony of scientific ‘experts’) because they are sure they are right since they are the most rational intellectuals of all beings who happen to believe that human beings evolved from amoebas, but no, it takes a long long time, so the evidence is still be gathered but they are equally sure that all the evidence would be gathered some day so you’d better be smart and listen to them or be labeled a crazy fundie.

It’s definitely most hypocritical to say that everyone is free to believe but only if it is acceptable to you. Most hypocritical.

    • elizabeth

      @ maja75

    • Chinggis was here

Piss off with your fairy tales! Science doesn’t need to ‘prove’ anything. Have religious freaks ‘proved’ the existence of God? Oh, the audacity! Anyhow, Where is Coala Banana? At least his posts are entertaining and he makes some valid points about China, yours are just dogma bs.

      • elizabeth

Lol! The big bang is just a much a fairy tale to me as religion is to you.

Are we seeing double standards here? Religions have to be proven, but science does not need to prove anything.

In case you do not realise it, you are contradicting the very basis the arguments put forth by scientific ‘experts’ – proof.

Not matter what labels you use on me, it will not mask your lack of substance to put forth a cogent argument.

        • A gawd dang Mongolian

Because religion is the answer to ‘why’ not to how.

Let me counter your big bang question with another question. If God created everything, how did God come into existence to make everything? Saying he always was is just circular logic, much like the big bang, because what is available does not prove anything and anything else is just conjecture.

HOWEVER unlike Genesis, the Big bang is merely a theory, just one of several theories. And being theory means it will be considered false if someone comes along with a more viable theory and data to reinforce it. A theory that one can accept or reject. But in order for anyone to accept a theory, that theory needs evidence. Work provided by the person(s) who submitted it.

The Big Bang is supported by Hubble’s Law and the expansion of space(v = Ho * D), distribution of radiation and primordial materials, and the galactic evolution of the known universe.

Genesis has a book that has been translated and edited several times since its original manuscript, by imperfect humans who tried to translate from a language that in many cases did not have direct translations to the new language, giving you a very altered book.

It’s great you have a religion. It’s great that it teaches so many messages about how to live life properly. What’s not great is when you try to shove it into others faces. That goes for atheists too.

Anyway ENOUGH RELIGIOUS DEBATE. This is an article about a dumb drunk Brit that made his nation look bad.

          • elizabeth

“Because religion is the answer to ‘why’ not to how”.

I beg to differ. It’s both ‘why’ and ‘how’ and much more. Yes, I will not bore you with what is not relevant in this thread.

A gawd dang Mongolian, my point is, both creationism and evolution/Big Bang are resting on the same unproven grounds although there are certainly pieces of evidence and reasoning on both sides.

In fact, it is possible that both reinforces each other.

Have I tried to shove my beliefs at your face? I hope you will try to be fair as I am only defending my faith. I did not start the mud slinging. I held a mirror at the one who did :D

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

Wow, this is a total waste of comment space from both sides…

Go to school to learn scientific facts and theories.

Go to church (or whatever building in your faith) to learn about spiritual facts and theories.

The two are not mutually exclusive except when they are forced to be. One can trust and accept evolution while still believing in a Higher Power with a Greater Purpose for example. Saying God created the materials for and caused the Big Bang is as plausible as any other idea due to causality (what came before and caused that?).

To mock someone elses core beliefs and put them down as either wrong or stupid or lacking or whatever is not only in very poor taste it’s incredibly obnoxious and rude, left to the low brows and trolls.

There is no false dichotomy of “two/either/both camps/sides/parties” that’s just a petty method for someone to force others to agree or disagree on terms that are easy for the to argue against or for. It’s unrealistic, overly-simplistic and divisive in the extreme.

This whole silly argument started because some twit didn’t like someone elses “in my view” aka “in my OPINION” and decided it would be an opportune moment to air their griefs despit it not being important or an attempt to force one view over any others. Don’t like someone’s opinion? Too bad, unless they’re implying or saying it’s the right opinion, then it’s just one opinion out of 7,000,000,000…….

          • elizabeth

Believe me Elijah, I tried very hard to understand the Big Bang, almost banging my head on the wall. But nope, all those theories do not prove anything either. Just as ‘holey’ as they claimed about religions.

In fact, I do agree that there might be a possibility that both are different sides of a coin.

Only time will tell and, till then, to each his own.

          • maja75 (aka coala banana)

“….I tried very hard to understand the Big Bang, almost banging my head on the wall…..”

hmmm, maybe thats the reason ? you say ‘almost’, but are you really sure you didn’t bang your head real hard against a concrete wall ? in case you really did that, then try to learn, read and understand without hitting the wall with your head. It guess it could help :-)

          • elizabeth

Sorry Elijah, she’s asking for it.

            @ maja75

Unfortunately, I am really not as insane as you wish I were. It’s figurative girl, figurative. And I will not bang my head against the wall simply because I might not even have the chance to think with an intact brain after that.

Ok, tell me then, ‘cos I really would like to know, how did the Big Bang start? What caused it? What, where, was our universe BEFORE the Big Bang? Yes, velocity and all that jazz, so, where did the energy for the bang come from? Where are we heading?

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

No need to justify things to me, in the end the only one who can judge you is yourself (and/or a Higher Power depending on your beliefs).

Does anyone feel like they’ve convinced anyone else? Does anyone really walk away feeling like they not only contributed but gained something? These types of arguments boil down intoshouting matches and wars of attrition (metaphorically speaking for anal redundant out there).

Just to clarify, I disagree with theories being unproven like evolution or the Big Bang etc. But at the same time I disagree with being overly-obnoxious and calling someone’s faith a childish fairy tale, very immature that.

PS. Tis whole thing started when maja75 somehow mangaed to take offense to the least offensive thing ever when Notorious stated her OPINION that if God mad different coloured flowers it’s the same making different coloured people. Was it really necessary to launch into rant that reeks of superiority complex? As for Elizabeth, there’s no need to drag out a conversation when someone isn’t interested in actual exchange of ideas, but rather just trying to enforce their opinion.

Can’t believe I wasted another comment on such a ridiculous bunch of mud-slinging.

          • elizabeth

            Please watch it Elijah.

As much as I am trying to apologize for taking up your precious comment space, and being polite about it (although it wasn’t necessary since those who aren’t interested could always skip my comments and there is literally no limit to space here), there is indeed no need to justify things to you or convince anyone. I was merely hinting to you that your condescending suggestion about going back to school to find out more etc. was pretty out of place.

‘Dragging’ out a conversation is a misstatement. I wouldn’t even have bothered writing in this racist and rumor-mongering thread (yes, racists remarks and rumors are great contributions to humanity) if it weren’t for someone with a personal vendetta against religion, for whatever reason, asserting there is no place for religion in public, education, politics etc. nit-picking and literally trying to suffocate and suppress anyone who utters even the slightest semblance of, gosh, the existence of a God.

Was it worth the while? At the very least, I have put her in her place to think twice about her scientific theories being foolproof and superior, until she is able to tell me exactly what is so definite about the big bang theory that no other explanations or possibilities exist.

I have encountered too many of these scientific ‘experts’ to know they aren’t really interested in the exchange of ideas but to impose their views on those with a faith whose beliefs are very likely an obstacle to their personal agenda.

          • Notorious

            @Mongolian

Interesting. Here are my thoughts on topic between you and Elizabeth.

I believe in God, I believe in science. I believe both can co-exist as a belief. I like your theory of “why” and “how”. When you think of religion in terms of “God created man” but who created God? This question goes on ad infinitum, much like the big bang theory. Some people believe in Steady State (that the universe is not expanding) while others believe in the big bang, that the universe is constantly expanding with no end in sight as a result of the force pushing things outward from the big bang billions of years ago.

This subject, of what created the mass that caused the big bang… or who created God, it’s like holding a mirror in front of another mirror. The images go on ad infinitum it never its. Who created whoever created God?

Wherever we are, and whatever we came from, Something had to create itself out of nothingness in order for the rest of the universe to exist.

Ever notice how our solar system resembles an atom? The “sun” being the nucleus and the planets orbiting around it ?

@Elizabeth, you seriously need to go read a book about The Big Bang, and all the evidence that supports it. The things are are saying makes me want to bang MY head against a wall, and I’m a fucking cow.

At the VERY least go read the Wikipedia page.

          • http://www.wtchina.freeforums.org Elijah

Elizabeth, there’s no need to feel defensive towards me. I was pretty clear that you nedn’t justify your opinions to me unless you’re trying to convince me. It’s the very first thing I wrote in my second comment.

As for the go to school thing, Ithink you seriously misunderstood the point I was making. What I meant is that depending on what kind of facts you’re looking for is where you look for them. Will you find solace for a departed loved one in the the Heisenberg Principle? Probably not, but there are a number of passages in numerous faith texts where you can. On the other hand if you need specific training like medicine or engineering or physicist, then you’ll need to go to school. For all the important and life changing things Jesus taught, he left out the lectures on heart transplants or the Higgs Boson particle. So it all depends what kind of facts you’re looking for.

As for dragging it out, I didn’t say you started this silly flamewar, I clearly said it was Maja. But what I was trying to say to you was that if she was going to make a big stink about about Notlrious’s completely benign comment, then she was never looking for a debate in the first place. As such, there’s absolutely nothing that can be said or done to either convince her or get her to piss off. It’s pointless. Like everyone at the Special Olympics, no matter what happen, everyon is still….. going home feeling like a winner.

Honestly speaking, the best thing you or anyone could have done is ignore her or at most point out how close-minded/unnecessary/prejudiced her comment was. Someone did say it was silly to have a religious debate, busadly it didn’t end there.

            Elijah,

Good posts. You wrote everything I wanted to write, if only I had better dexterity in my thumbs.Damnit why wont evolution make typing on a smartphone keyboard easier!?

          • Capt. WED

I’m not sure why some on here is fixated on having these weird twisted interreptation of what science is… What? When in reality science, ah whatever… SuperCow dude did a pretty good job so just read his posts.

“This subject, of what created the mass that caused the big bang… or who created God, it’s like holding a mirror in front of another mirror. The images go on ad infinitum it never its. Who created whoever created God?

Do you mean specifically the problem of the singularity with the Big Bang Theory (look up dictionary definition of theory guys please)? If that’s the case there are several hypothesis trying to answer that. These tries to answer what is at the t=0 of the big bang, what is before the big bang (it’s turtle all the way down :) ) There are also more speculative hypothesis like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_universe_hypothesis

However these are akin to your god explanation because currently have’t figured out how to test them.

Lastly I’m really not a physicist. I took one elective in it once. Yes I google a lot. But hey at least if I can fully grok something like this: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Special_Relativity/Mathematical_transformations ;)

        • Chinggis was here

I meant to say that science doesn’t need to prove God exists, because a common argument from religious believers is to say ‘prove God doesn’t exist’ I’m usually more coherent. Doesn’t matter – whatever rocks your boat. I apologise for the poorly worded troll attempt.

However this article is not the place for a debate about religion. I’m more concerned about the Chav in China and how some Chinese may project that disgraceful incident on to all ‘foreigners’. I’ve experienced the damage caused by drunken Chavs in Eastern Europe.

          • elizabeth

Sorry for saying you lack substance :)

It was a knee-jerk reaction to the ‘freak’ word or equivalent often thrown at me by some people in certain cul de sac situations.

          • Capt. WED

I almost finished a science degree. I didn’t because I had work lined up for me in China (my job is to cheat as much money as possible out of CHinese people). I don’t do any science really. Not a scientist! :)

        • http://www.thecapitalinthenorth.blogspot.com Jixiang

Elizabeth, why do you keep going on about the Big Bang? I don’t get it. I don’t know up to what extent the Big Bang is certain to have happened (I am not a physicist), but it’s irrelevant. I don’t believe in god, and it has nothing to do with whether the big bang happened or not. God is unproven, and this remains true whether the universe started through a big bang or some other way.
I think you misunderstand why atheists don’t believe in god.

When it comes to the theory of evolution, it is not a “theory” in the sense that there’s any doubt about it. Even the fact that the earth revolves aournd the sun is a “theory”. Denying any of the two theories is equally ridicolous.

And “Religions have to be proven, but science does not need to prove anything.” is the most ironic phrase ever. It’s exactly the opposite. Scientific theories need some kind of proof to be taken seriously, while religious assertions don’t need any proof, because they are based on faith.

  • A gawd dang Mongolian

I’m betting you don’t even know what the article was about…fucking trolls regurgitating shit they found on Google to boost their pathetically low self-esteem on a thread on the freakin’ internet. Sad, pathetically sad, really.

If I’m wrong and they are married, (mercy on the poor guys) I am hopeful the husbands will come to their senses and put these twats out of their misery, thus ending the inane prattle spewing forth from their pie-holes onto this thread.

        • Boris

John Calvin argued that purgatory didn’t exist.
          He was wrong!

  • armchair philosopher

I’m going to add my two cents.

From an epistemological point of view these two sets of arguments are difficult to reconciled because they tend to have fundamental disagreements over how knowledge can obtained.

Science uses an empirical method (i.e. one that believes knowledge that can be derived from measuring the natural world around us only or primarily through the senses) to come to facts and conclusions.

Religion accepts revelation and rationalism as ways of obtaining knowledge (i.e. the mind can focus on something to arrive at knowledge without using the senses).

Where both fall into error, however, is using a deductive method of reasoning (coming to conclusions based on sets of premises) to arrive at conclusions without first checking that the premises are correct. And thus did the scientists who previously believed in “protoplasm” having separate properties from normal matter, or there being an absolute distinction between matter and energy have a great many difficulties.

Scientists can be equally bigoted and conservative, as evidenced by the scientific community’s response to things like radio, the Wright Brother’s invention of the airplane, penicillin and so on.

Those who call themselves scientists should also remember that they cannot factually disprove something that they cannot measure or observe. No one has yet come to a single unifying theory of the universe.

    • SuperHappyCow

But a theory that explains everything is pointless, as it cannot really be applied.

Something that cannot be measured or observed has no real purpose as far as building a society goes, because it purported knowledge about this thing cannot be measured, and would help make exactly zero predictions.

You’ve made the mistake in saying that both fall into error the same way.

If you arrive at a conclusion that is incorrect using the scientific method, then it still must pass peer review, or at least be used to make predictions about other things. If you cannot successfully complete these tasks no one will use your theory to apply it in reality, let alone the fact that it most likely could not be applied in the first place.

Religion does not fit this standard, as it is based in faith, i.e. a belief in something without the necessity of evidence. You do not need to prove or disprove a religion. All you need to be a member of one is a belief without reason.

    • SuperHappyCow

      Also, I think you’re confusing a theory with a theorem. D:

what the fuck has this do to with we-are-guest-here?Im not a fucking guest, i pay the bloody taxes here, i have to deal with some (many) of ignorant chinese and i spend my money in this polluted country where you have to say the whole damn rosary before attempting to eat something in a restaurant.
Like some of u said, if this was an internal affairs no one would ever mention about it. Secondly, are we sure that they don’t know each other? From a video, cutted and re-cutted you cant really say that much. Also all the shit of heroes-of the-day following this is pathetic video… IF china right now needs this kind of heroes beating up 3 against one a drunk guy for some attempted rape, filming it by showing exactly that this was more about the race of this guy, laowai, leaving him in the middle of the road and beating him while already unconscious… then sounds like the government is worrying a little bit about the future of this country.

          • chris

            besides ABOUT THE VIDEO:
            1) He doesn’t particularly look like he is raping her

            2) Initially, she doesn’t seem like she is being raped

            3) When approached the man seems pretty calm, not like he has been caught in the middle of a serious sexual assault.

            4) like i said, there is heavy editing. We never see the full extent of the attack upon him. Other than being passed out and with a ripped t-shirt, he does not look like he has suffered a beating. Some might think it looks a bit staged.

            5) The guy who uploaded the video, posts some heavy grandstanding. More like he is trying to prove what a man he is than anything else. Why would you put that online?

            6) The side of a main road under lighting, is an odd place to carry out a sexual assault.

            7) What does she grab at the 10 second mark?

            8) It seems weird that the phone suddenly appears in her hand.

            9) To have you photo appear twice on the internet in that fashion, what are the odds?

anyway i am sure the police will conduct a thorough investigation……..

Surprised no one has talked about the caption of the video by “Big Brother”. As sad and shocking a tale as this is, that was F-ing hilarious.

Okay, I have to go on a completely off topic rant here. Why are Chinese guys so self-conscious? I’m looking to create a cover for my novel which is ready to become published. It’s a romance novel that has a Chinese male as the American heroine’s love interest. A first. So I went on a few websites that specialise in images. Anyway, I searched for “handsome chinese man” and I even googled them and all I found were many hundreds of goofy looking pictures with unattractive, whimpy looking guys who does look the way I envision my character who HAS to be handsome. Even the ones who were cute, posed in completely insecure ways, or in a manner that was completely void of sexuality. And the ones who did have “sexy” pictures they were all dressed in a feminine style. So, is this a cultural thing? When I google white, black, or even latino handsome men they just OOOZE sex appeal, but Chinese and Asian males tend to hide it a bit more, maybe they are just discreet. Here is a link to some of the pictures that turned up for handsome chinese men:

    http://www.dreamstime.com/search.php?srh_field=handsome chinese man&s_ph=y&s_sm=all&s_st=new&s_catid=0&s_cliid=&s_colid=&s_exc=&s_excp=&s_sp=&s_sl0=y&s_sl1=y&s_sl2=y&s_sl3=y&s_sl4=y&s_sl5=y&s_color1=FFFFFF&s_percent1=10&s_color2=FFFFFF&s_percent2=10&s_rsf=0&s_rst=7&s_clc=y&s_clm=y&s_orp=y&s_ors=y&s_orl=y&s_orw=y&s_mrg=1&s_mrc1=y&s_mrc2=y&s_mrc3=y&s_mrc4=y&s_mrc5=y&pg=1

Now compare that to my link for handsome men in general and see the big difference. There really needs to be a handsome model out there with pictures otherwise I will have to obscure the face of find someone who looks slightly asian/chinese. So frustrating trying to find this.
    Other guys sexy pictures:

Hardly original, and have you got a blog or any snippets for preview? Who is your publisher?

      • Notorious

I know it’s not original, I mean it’s a first for me. And yes, I’ve published five books thus far. And people buy them. I sell more kindle ebooks than I do published formats and made the best seller list a few times for my genre. But the paperback is like, low sales. I’m okay with that because I make money with the digital books. That being said, none of the other info you want I will not disclose. One, because I need to maintain my anonymity, and two, because I want to maintain my anonymity.

        • Notorious

oops – i meant i sell more kindle ebooks than paperbacks. though i am published in both formats. i described the plot a while back in that dashan recommends chinasmack topic but I won’t post an excerpt because, three, I want to maintain my anonymity. I have a reputation to uphold :o)

          • mr. wiener

Ask Jeffli to write any of the erotic scenes. he has a talent for such things.

          • Notorious

does he? Never seen his writings here before. I’m pretty good at the erotic stuff too.

    • Cardaver

      Where could I pre-order a copy?

      • Notorious

cardavar, check back at the end of may when the sales info is available and give me an email and I tell you. Or maybe send you a promotional (re: free) copy. But otherwise, I don’t want my info about the book here. Miss doesn’t want to get flesh searched, friend lol

    • Capt. WED

I don’t know if you are trolling sometimes or what? If you are going to talk about Chinese man, you have to look it up with the right search engine.

and lastly on average eastern Asian males have lower testosterone levels than their counterparts in other parts of the world. Or something like….I’ve never looked too deeply into it.

      • Notorious

jackpot, those guys are h-h-ot lol. whew child! But I can’t use their pictures (especially the dicky ones) because they aren’t for sale.

Also, tThen why the hell are the ones in the western pictures so freaking dorky? i guess they are bashful around these ugly foreign people in the west.

And yeah, the second link provides pictures of boys that look so girly. I like a man who looks like a man. All of those boys are cute, but total sissies…
