From Sina Weibo:

@糗事大百科: Where’s the designer? Get over here… I promise I won’t beat you to death. 拜拜

An animated gif of a Chinese boy going down a water slide, with painful consequences.

Comments from Sina Weibo:

When he began turning and bouncing, I closed my eyes. 拜拜

Crap, crap, crap crap fuck, crap holy fuck.

Spinning, bouncing, and with eyes closed he entered the ancient mysterious waters of the Ganges.

What I want to say is that when you ride such slides, you’re supposed to lie down with your arms crossed over your chest.

Our classmate, Gao Ye.

He won’t be using his asshole for some time.

The happiest part of my day today has been to see this microblog post. [生病]

Truly a design where your butt hurts if you sit, your waist hurts if you lie on your back, and your face hurts if you lie on your stomach. [doge]

If it were three people sliding down together, the scene would be unimaginable, hahaha.

Hahahahahahahaha, I watched this repeatedly over a dozen times. Am I still human?

I can’t believe I watched this three times.

A man with a bouncy butt.

Can you imagine what it’s like to have slow internet and it won’t load, so I’m just looking at his carefree back, not moving at all. 拜拜 Sigh, his pants sure is pretty.

Fuck, I’m in my room pretending to study. Trying to keep in my laughter is so hard…

Hahahahaha, I laughed for a full ten minutes…

…and people used to complain how trivial the Americans are.
Not that Australians are any better mind you.

    • Matt

Saw it on the Anglophone web just yesterday:

      2.5 million views + over 500 comments.

      • David

With the freedom to publish unlimited stuff, you get unlimited dumb stuff. Better than the alternative where somebody else decides for you what is suitable.

  • Lei Feng’s Hat

This guys first clue should have been that the entire slide-ride appears to be caged in…

    • firebert5

His second should have been that no one else is in the water…

  • Irvin

If only china still had youtube and they can search for “fails compilations”, they be so tired of shit like this it wouldn’t make it to the news.

    • Rose

      Youku, anyone?

      • B*tches, Leave

Youku is so sodding useless … as is baidu

      • FYIADragoon

Youku’s pretty horrible, and this is coming from someone who knows the language. I only use it to watch streams of American/British TV shows and Asian movies. It’s not good for anything original content related.

        • Kai

In many ways, Youku has gone downhill as far as original content is concerned. It’s harder to discover stuff on Youku these days because there’s a lot more curation and promotion, often with the goal of increasing monetization through licensed content.

          • Would you say Youku has gone downhill… much like the boy in this video did?

          • Rose

Haha. Yes, it’s much less of a youtube-type model, much more about pushing certain content, but that means it legally has a lot of the biggest shows and movies without being too mafan. And it’s nice to easily get Sherlock, so there’s that. Still hosts prettymuch all the videos that are put on this site as well(i.e. original content). I wouldn’t completely discount it.

        • Insomnicide

Well I watch Wanwanmeixiangdao and Zhongguo Jinqi Xianshen…but yeah, most of the original content is quite lacking.

    • maidanglao0kbs

Don’t you know, since China gov baned the Youtube, a new job was created by Chinese netizen called “internet video porter“, who can use vpn or other techs to through GFW and download vids from Youtube then repost it on Chinese video websites. You can almost find every failure video/ cat video/ wtf videos on Chinese internet.

  • Toasty

I started watching watching expecting that he was going to do something idiotic and generally Chinese. But he doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong. You cant help but laugh though!

  • AbC

Nothing to see here… Except a badly designed water slide with a tendency to cause injury.

  • JayJay

    Slow news day?

    • SongYii

      No… Chinese news just sucks.

  • KenjiAd

He should sue the waterslide designer, park, as well as weibo and cS for pain and suffering and also emotional distress.

  • Amused

Wtf, is that a sewage treatment pool he’s sliding into?

    • arterius2

lmao doesn’t look too clean does it.

      • Amused

I know it’s cutting edge tech and all, but chlorine is pretty sweet…

        • SongYii

I’m liking the new-ish salt water pools. There’s something that turned me off when I learned chlorine is just a happy swimming pool name for household bleach.

          • Kai

Isn’t it the other way around? Bleach is a household name for chlorine (a chemical element)?

Oh wait, “bleach” comes from bleachfields. Still, most modern bleaches are chlorine-based.

I’m not a fan of salt water pools, but they do have a very different feel compared to chlorine pools. The water feels somewhat softer and maybe a bit more bouyant? Not sure.

I generally quite like the smell of chlorine, kinda like how some people like the smell of gasoline for some reason. Shrug.

          • Amused

Salt pools are awesome. Require much less overall maintenance, but are a bitch when you have to change the filter.

    • SongYii

Looks like a reservoir, not a water park.

  • hess

I feel this guys pain, I broke my collarbone in a water slide as a kid. Ouch.

    • mr.wiener

Broke mine playing rugby 5 years ago… It was a good injury , and well received.

  • Ruaraidh

Is he wearing shoes on a water slide? That’s what you get for being such a renegade.

  • da_shan223

If the slide were longer, this would would have been horrific but it looks like it ended just in time for a hilarious lesson on why you should lay down on water slides.

  • 山炮 ShanPao

    Why is this even trending?

    • mr.wiener

Apparently little things amuse big countries.

      • 山炮 ShanPao

Can you back it up with a link?

        • mr.wiener

This was in no way a dig solely at China, as per my earlier comments , the amount of trivia on western media outlets should be immediately apparent and not worthy of links to illustrate.

          • Ouch

If you can’t back it up with a link, you shouldn’t be posting on CS. Watch out for the mods.

          • mr.wiener

            Umm… dude, I am a mod. But just because I’m a mod don’t mean I’m a god. We aren’t ogres you know.

          • SongYii

Ya, failblog to start with. :-D

    • SongYii

Probably because school was out til today, and because young people tend to waste the majority of their time complaining about being bored, they watch this shit.

      • 山炮 ShanPao

Do you have a link for that?

        • SongYii

Yes, it is strongly linked to the river of shit I hear coming out of my students mouths, which is usually something about how boring everything in their life is. “Oh, teacher, I am so boring in all my classes. And it is bored to be at home. Blah blah blah.”

      • Kai

Yikes, it’s because it’s Weibo. Twitter is like this too. You’re seeing the same mundanity in China as you do elsewhere.

    • Alex Dương

As the comment above yours pointed out, this trended outside of China too. Again, why does anything trend?

  • Markus P

Lol… Did the designer even test it? Probably did and thought, feck it, already finished it now, I’m not doing it again. That or he tested it and is now in hospital unable to re-do it. :P

  • these kind of water slides were forbiden in argentina a long time ago. It’s bad for your spine.

  • bert

This video represents a compact and simplified version of Chinese history every 100 years.
