Comments from Sina Weibo:

泳欣妹_:

Cute [爱你]

话提:

Please balance the gap between rich and poor.

匍匐在猫咪大人脚下:

All relying on those four short legs…

某组织发言人-BG6EKC:

Does it’s master practice yoga?

guhfrrrathhtyrtewwrkljvvhjh:

Very cute, but also a little sad.

大静不安静:

Pay attention to his eyes/expressions!!!

我要换个不会被吐槽的名:

[悲伤][悲伤][悲伤] Although the traces of Photoshop and cloning are a bit obvious, none of this can stop my love for short-legs [Corgi dogs], do you understand!? Hey short-legs, I’m talking to you~ do you understand!!?

元首拾肆:

Little short-legs! It’s because your center of gravity is very low, right!?

邓然fff-:

After seeing this, does anyone get the feeling that they are no better than a dog?

不会做饭的Angel:

That proud and contempt for all expression is what is the key here, okay???

就是_无理取闹:

Corgis had short legs to begin with, and with you weighing him down further like this, his legs will be squashed into nothing.

色难殇:

He’s so serious in the one where he’s balancing the ball~ so happy in the one where he’s balancing the cola.

作为承上启下的存在着:

Cannot balance [get rid of] the hate shorties have for the tall…

偶遇的牛牛:

This little Corgi is killing me with cuteness~!

hello_world-_-:

Can it balance [stop rising] prices?

Pinky-pinky三種口味:

I feel they are Photoshopped, some of them.

What tricks can your pet do?

And the winner is… “Please balance the gap between rich and poor.” Nice!

    • TJDubs

I suspect this pup may be HKese or Taiwanese, with the Mos Burger cups making an appearance, as I never saw a Mos on the Mainland. That said, he is, in all likelihood, a bourgeois liberalist dog, and therefore not willing to do anything in the spirit of elevating the proletariat. If anything, he’s performing these balancing acts to distract poor people from the fact that they’re poor.

      • tomoe723

did it ever occur to you that he’s just doing it because he knows that if he does it right, he gets treats as rewards? all that political nonsense is jackshit to a dog..

        • Dax

Seriously? Have you never run into the concept of a “joke” before?

          • tomoe723

sorry, i’m not fond of political jokes if you call those that.. or even if you laughed at them.. honestly, i must be missing the joke here coz i didn’t find it funny…

          • Dax

So you actually believed that TJDubs thought that the dog has an opinion on liberalism?

Also, if you don’t find political jokes amusing, this may not be the best website for you…

          • tomoe723

huh? sorry to disappoint you but CS isn’t all about political jokes.. in fact, on the contrary, people here argue too seriously about the political aspect of China–case in point being the one above.

and why would i assume that a dog has a political opinion? maybe you thought that….?

There are in fact Mos Burgers on the mainland and they are, in my opinion, the best fast-food chain burgers available here that I’ve tried. They beat McDs, KFC, Carl’s JR, Burger King. They’re fresh and piping hot and that fried chicken thing is pretty damn tasty too.

        • TJDubs

Damn, my theory was water-tight before you introduced that piece of information!

      • markus peg

Mainland does have mos burger, I went to one in Guangzhou a year or so ago…

It’s good to see that at least one dog gets attention (maybe even training!) from its owner.

At my subdivision in Beijing, I used to see the most beautiful German shepherds, malamutes, greyhounds, etc., acting so stubborn and out-of-sync with their masters, that it was obvious that owners did not give half a shit about training or establishing manners with their dogs.

    • YourSupremeCommander

How can you expect well mannered dogs when their owners don’t even know what well manner is?

    • how else is a dog supposed to conduct himself in a country that eats them?

      • tomoe723

so maybe the corgi above is perfectly doing the stunts out of fear of being eaten.. ahh the pressure.. haha

  • KamikaziPilot

Assuming the pics are real, I wonder how they got the dog to stay still long enough to take these pics. Most dogs go crazy if you place anything on them.

At least this one isn’t ending up at Walmart…

  • Cameron

So even corgis brought up in China become unoriginal .

I think that was my first sofa :)

It’s cute, but I’ve always been a fan of big dogs. I can’t shake the mental association of another of those trashy rich women carrying these small dogs in a tote bag or something.

    • Kai

I think of Corgis as medium-sized dogs. Small dogs (of the trashy rich woman tote bag variety) to me are like chihuahuas and toy poodles and teddies. I’m not a fan of those dogs either but Corgis are pretty cool, simply because of their dumpy legs.

  • the ace of books

Muffin to say here, except: drive-by corgi love.

  • Jin Park

    so majestic

  • Kai

Apparently in Xiamen but I would’ve assumed these pictures originally came from HK or TW. The scooter, as someone else said, might suggest TW more.

So cute. I am not really a dog person but if I am going to get a dog I want a miniature Schnauzer. I will put a bow tie on his collar and walk with him. They look good in fashion. If I really get one I will name him Kristian.

Also on the TV in the background it looks like the lady is wearing a KMT party vest… dont think they would show that on the mainland.
