Abe To Attend China’s WWII Commemoration Event In BeijingAccording to Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun, prime minister Shinzō Abe will be attending China’s WWII commemoration event in Beijing, where he will meet with chairman Xi Jinping. It was previously speculated that Abe wouldn’t go so he could attend parliament to help push through a new Security Act that was met with strong opposition. It’s believed Abe is unlikely to be overly positive at the meeting, as he’ll probably try to strike a balance with right-wing opinion in Japan, and although he said “sorry” in last Friday’s WWII talk, Japanese media considered it phony. Netizens expressed support for Xi.

Here we go again, this seems like it’ll never go away. Neither side will ever be completely satisfied. I wonder what Abe will say. It’s next to impossible to satisfy nationalists in both countries at the same time.
