China and Japan Have Different Take On Store Assault Case
Chinese Internet company NetEase has reported that Japanese media have an entirely different take on the recent incident of a Chinese couple assaulting a convenience store clerk in Hokkaido, Japan. The original headline of Japan’s Kyodo News read, “Chinese Couple Arrested For Beating-Up Sapporo Shop Assistant After Being Advised Against Eating Ice Cream Before Paying”. Conversely, Chinese interpretation of the event has the clerk offending the couple by gesturing to them to “take a hike”. One netizen said that no one would defend those who lack manners when they travel abroad.

Assault is assault no matter the reason.

    • KamikaziPilot

Agree, unless there’s a physical threat, even if someone told you to “take a hike” that’s no justification to assault them. That Chinese guy must have had a corn cob stuck up his ass and was ready to blow at any provocation. Of course being in Japan probably further enraged him.

Don’t think that being in Japan or not has anything to do with it, it’s just that a Japanese person looked down on his wife (or not) that enrage him.

Looked down by a Japanese ? How short is his wife ?

        • KamikaziPilot

Well that’s kind of what I meant. Being in Japan implies being surrounded by Japanese people hence he had a short fuse at the slightest provocation. Of course if it were in China or elsewhere but the offending clerk was Japanese, probably same reaction.

Some people travel overseas with a chip on their shoulder. There are no shortage of westerners who travel and live in China who make no bones about their contempt for the locals. The main difference is if this ever translates into physical altercation.. In this case it did and I think only a minority of Japan hating netizins are willing to defend this jerk.

Of course the takes are different. A civilized society is different from an uncivilized society. A sushi eating people are different from dog eating people. And Japanese eat dogs, right ?

    • Alex Dương

Bro, I’m so disappointed. Raw fish versus dogs, that’s the best contrast you can come up with to compare Japan and China in regards to how civilized their societies are? You need to come up with new material.

he is offended because his dogs sleep with him on his bed and sometimes his dick falls into dogs’ genital area on accident.
