Company Donates to Girl With Leukemia, Wants Money Back

A company which donated 200,000 RMB to a 10-year-old girl suffering from Leukemia demanded 150,000 RMB to be returned after it claimed it accidentally added a “0” to the amount it was intending to give. The event caused concern for patient Leping’s father, Huang Guangyao, as despite adequate funds already raised for her treatment, all finances must be reported to authorities, who allocate excess donations to others in need. Huang eventually returned the money under witness by reporters and authorities. Netizens still praised the company’s donation, saying that some don’t give anything.

That’s not really the point of a donation-oh nevermind. This is a company we’re talking about.

I like how the authorities “allocate excess donations to others in need.” As if you shouldn’t be allowed to say how money given to you is spent.
