Fitness Instructor’s Phone Stolen, Thief Caught in “Honey Trap”

Recently a man stole several phones and a wallet from the dormitory that Xiao Chen, a fitness instructor in Fuzhou, shared with several of his coworkers. But when the thief tried to pay his phone bill using Alipay on the stolen phone, Xiao Chen was able to obtain his phone number. Xiao Chen’s female coworker used the phone number to add the thief on WeChat, and over the next few days learned details about his life by flirting with him. After learning that the man often spent time in a nearby arcade, Xiao Chen, the woman and several other fitness instructors found him there and turned him over to police.

Wasn’t implying that it wasn’t the same everywhere. Simply that the police wouldn’t have been able to get it back. That is a known fact in China. Lose your phone or wallet, it’s like gone forever. The police won’t ever find it. That’s all I was saying.

Not true, I had a rather bizarre experience, I had my car broken in to and my briefcase stolen, I didn’t even bother to inform the local police as I knew them to be always out on the piss and there was nothing of value in it, only English Text books, haha ! A year or so later they turned up at my work place, I shat myself (no work visa), but they just left a message… They had caught the thief and when they searched his home they found a hord of stolen goods including my briefcase. So off I went down to the local cop shop, knowing full well they had no interest in my lack of a work visa. They asked me to make a statement, I did, they asked if there was any money in the briefcase and if any camera’s had been stolen, wish I had had the balls to say yes ! They said come back in a few months and you’ll get your briefcase. I called them every couple of months, no the case was still ongoing. Never got my briefcase back, suppose actually you are right, … gone forever, DOH !
