Flight Crew Rewarded For Conduct Amidst Arson Attack

Flight crew of Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9648 from Taizhou to Guangzhou have received commendations and a total of 2.5 million RMB during an awards ceremony held by the airline for their conduct during an in-flight arson attack. The occasion gave recognition to nine flight staff who, “were fearless amidst danger, worked together, made decisive action, put out an open fire, restored cabin order and subdued the suspect.” Additionally, courageous passengers Chen Jinbiao and Zhang Xuemei each received 150,000 RMB, which one netizen thought unfair as they received the least yet weren’t obliged to do anything.

    Wow, putting foreign airlines to shame.
    My friends visited me in the USA and flew back to China in August (2014), but one of their bags (with the gifts) disappeared. One year later and a judgement that they are owed $1600, American Airlines is refusing to pay…
    Spirit Airlines stranded me in Florida without compensation. Probably the worst attitudes I have dealt with in the airline industy…I will Never fly Spirit Airlines Again..

      It’s quite known that some or most of the American Airlines are some of the shittiest airlines (customer service and bad food)

            Well when most of my friends and family had bad experience with most American Airlines it says a lot to me. (Usually it’s the shitty customer service) 2 of my friends lost their check-in luggage, they complained and want their luggage back since it got valuable stuff and souvenirs were in it. What did Delta Airlines do? Ignoring them.

        I will take a bad American Airline over China Eastern and China Southern any day of the year. They have one time rates in the low 60’s. I fly a lot inside an outside China and I like nothing about Chinese Airlines.

          I’ll take KLM over most American and Chinese Airlines.

            KLM is a very good Airline. But they are limited to where they fly. I like Cathay when flying to Asia but they are expensive. However, they are worth it because you get what you pay for.

            I live in The Netherlands and only fly with Klm myself. It’s handy for me because from Amsterdam you can go to any big cities around the world.

          At least Chinese Airlines got a thing called “customer service”.
          Also better food(in my opinion ), prettier stewardess and free drinks, even in Economy.

            No, that’s Singapore.

            Air China stewardesses dress like hotel maids and inflight meal, especially on domestic routes tastes like cardboard drenched in soy sauce. The service isn’t hostile, but it’s not good in any way either.

            China Eastern dress better, and the cabin staff’s attitudes are much better, but the in flight meals taste even worse, if you can believe it.

            China Southern in flight meals taste OK (if you like cantonese food), the service isn’t terrible.

            As for pretty stewardesses, they’re not frequently seen in any of them. AC exclusively puts the ones with nice faces on international flights for some reason so you see them a bit, but rarely if ever on domestic ones. CE, CS, as well as Hainan, Xiamen, Shanghai etc seem to have pretty stewardesses pop up randomly, though having more than one on the same A330 is extremely rare.

            With foreign airlines, you get a huge discrepancy between the budget carriers and the normal ones. I’ve never had an employer bastard enough to try to send me on Ryanair or Jetstar or whatever, so it’s fine. China also has Spring and Autumn airline which is actually far worse than those two airlines.

            Postscript: quality of AC/CE can be shown by comparing the inflight meal going to China (largely provided by whoever caters for the Star/Skyteam affiliate in the region) and going from China (provided by AC/CE’s own caterers). It is simply a night and day comparison.

            I only fly with China Southern, Xiamen Airlines and Fuzhou Airlines domestic and Klm international. Don’t know about other Chinese Airlines but these 3 are good.

            I have to disagree with you on all those point. I think the food is mostly disgusting, all American airlines give free non-alcoholic drinks, prettiness is not what stewardesses are there for and how pretty they are is in the eye of the beholder. As far as customer service goes I could talk all day about the bad customer service and terrible on-time rate of both China Southern and China Eastern. I have probably flown with them 2 or 3 dozen times and I could probably count on one hand the number of times I have gotten where I was going on time. I have myself been ripped off by these airlines (promising to pay refunds for mistakes and missed flights they caused then going back on their word, for instance) as well as my friends and now refuse to fly them at all. If you want a more objective review they are very low ratings from the international organizations that rate airlines. So do some American airlines.
