Huainan Fallen Woman Case: Accused Student Responds Via Weibo

Huainan Normal University student Ms. Yuan has responded to the police verdict that she “bears the main responsibility” in an incident in which she is accused of injuring an elderly woman by bumping into her with her bicycle. Yuan took to Weibo to maintain her innocence and express her exasperation at police wordings: “We took evidence from multiple parties,” “I was closest to the woman”, “There was definately some external force, which is certain to be the rear bike wheel contacting with the woman, thus causing her to be knocked down.” One netizen said the onus should be on the old woman to prove she was hit.
