The Japanese present were surprised at the event’s harmonious atmosphere, with China’s Chairman Xi Jinping expressing his wish to maintain steady development of diplomatic relations between the two nations. However, some Japanese reports chose to emphasize Xi’s opinion that the crime of the Japanese occupation should not be concealed or distorted.
