Mobile Operators To Be More Generous With Internet Allowance
The three major state-owned telecommunications companies are to no longer wipe all remaining mobile internet usage allowance to zero at the end of each month for many of their service packages. The measures are in response to proposals made by the State Council in May which suggested the reduction of internet fees. The new policy will automatically come into effect on October 1 for many China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom customers. Although the current month’s quota will be transferred to the next, it won’t remain after that which annoyed many netizens as this means allowances would still be wiped.
