Netizens Angry After Rescue Workers Spotted Taking Selfies

Recently a young boy in Yanshan, Yunnan, was swept off of the street by floodwater which had accumulated from a long stretch of heavy rains. After the locals were unable to locate the boy, they called authorities for assistance. At the scene of the rescue, someone took a picture of 3 people who appeared to be rescue workers taking a selfie and posted the photo in an online forum, where it caused heated debate among netizens. The official response was that 2 of them were rescue workers and 1 was a journalist. The two rescuers had broken the rules by posing for photographs during the rescue, and have since been disciplined.
