A policeman who reported a superior for various crimes including bribery, selling official positions, and embezzlement spent 568 days in jail for “gambling”. Zhou Jianbing reported Louxing District Police chief Liu Mingqing in March 2012. However, Zhou himself was arrested months later on accusations of gambling. After his charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, Zhou was released and compensated 113,991.92 RMB. The Police Discipline Inspection Commission are now investigating Liu after Zhou recently posted his original accusations online, which one netizen likened to the left hand checking the right.
