Yan’an Government Departments To Lose Saturday As Day Off

Various government departments in Yan’an confirmed recently that they are to temporarily lose Saturdays as a non-working day. The new policy, whose purpose is to “ensure stable growth, push forward investment policies, safeguard industry and help large projects to run smoothly,” requested several authorities to implement it before the end of September. One netizen pointed out that many businesses already work Saturdays, whilst another proposed that bureaucrats switch their hours to when everyone else is off work so people don’t have to take leave to get things done.
