chinaSMACK Interview In City Weekend

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Will it snow again in Shanghai this winter like last year?

Jessica Beaton recently interviewed me for City Weekend, a cool magazine in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou. The interview is available on their website right now, and I think it will appear in the paper magazine soon too.

They also have an interview with Will Moss from Imagethief, another good English blog about China. Unfortunately, I do not always understand his writing because my English is not good enough. However, many people tell me he is a very funny guy.

Voting for the 2008 China Blog Awards will end in a few days on 31 December. Right now, although chinaSMACK is second place, it is very far behind another website named “Wo Shi Laowai, Wo Pa Shui.” That website has 418 votes but we only have 267. I did not realize each person can vote once every day (24 hours) until recently. Oh well. No matter what, thank you everyone for voting for us.

I hope everyone will have happy holidays and of course, thank you for your support.

Damn i didn’t even notice. Shows how attentive i am. Your website i great Fauna and the community of posters has blossomed too. There always seems to be a troll in the comments section and its the only area i hope it improves in. With an inside look at the Chinese and a diverse community with plenty of Chinese readers this blog is a treasure.

Wo Shi Laowai, Wo Pa Shui blog is more like KKK style mentality. Very hateful. Unbelievable!

    @ abc

That’s not KKK style, that’s Pizi or hooligan style. The blog title is a mimic of Wang Shuo’s Wo Shi Liumang, Wo Pa Shui (I’m a rascal, afraid of who).

I’m surprised there’s any English you have trouble understanding. It’s clear that you work hard to write everything correctly. Though I had never heard of ImageThief until this, I took a look over there and I suppose I can see why: he uses a lot of references to pop culture that even I don’t completely understand.

The most hater filled site is the nonminger, its the saddest China related site out there. It nobody any favors and should be shut down or blocked before other expat sites get it in the neck.

At first I thought Fauna was a girl. Then I decided Fauna was a guy. Now I just don’t know.

No, I looked it up. They were talking about Ian, who helps translate. He’s a guy. Fauna’s a girl.

This article has already been in CW. Two weeks ago I think.

But the way, is that a photo of you in the CW edition (not the online photo)? Because if it is, you have very blue eyes for a Chinese girl….
