Ian

Ian Stalter, American, Europhile with a relatively recent interest in China, spent most of his growing life moving between Belgium, England, and various states of America, before deciding to come to HuangShi China on a whim during gap year while at University. He is fluent in French, some German, and in the past four years has feebly struggled to improve his Chinese. His interests include marketing, programming, translation, and media production. Ian was a Media–Communications major at the University of California, San Diego, and spent his university years writing, making music and video. After graduating in 2008, he has been lucky to return again to Dalian, China, this time to work for a local branch of an American IT firm, working with a laptop/printer division, and hoping to gain some technical knowledge. Although it has been difficult to move across the world, and China has proven to be an extreme challenge in comparison to the lazy life back home, Ian is adept at stepping his foot into every puddle that he runs into. He feels that opportunities in China are greater than challenges, and hopes to make it his home for the next several years.
