Actually, there are plenty of love hotels in China, like Motel 168, which can get as cheap as 138 yuan or so per night or campus hotels that are like 100 yuan a night. Of course, that’s not super cheap but then there are hourly options too. The thing is, to really get the student crowd, you might be looking at sub-50 yuan pricing and then you have to question if you can turn a profit while navigating the social implications of such a place.
Getting into a hotel requires registration and being seen with your lover, I’m not sure most students are comfortable with that, hence doing the deed in hiding without telling anyone or being seen.
