It is truly difficult to believe that in this day and age there can be such a cruel thing and such an inhuman father.
The children have temporarily been sent to the town welfare center/orphanage, and the father is temporarily living at the police station. But I don’t know how many days this can last.
Friends, you haven’t lived their lives, you have never seen such a situation. But if you ever do, that desire to help but being unable to do so, that feeling of helplessness, witnessing the child suffer hardship is more tragic than anything. In fact, I too cannot endure much longer.
I want to help these two kids, but feel unable to do so. How to help? With what? I’m still very lost. I can only do my best. But one person’s strength is too limited. So I’m asking for help. November 10 progress: Due to the nature and extent of the children’s injuries, the relevant authorities contacted the local charity centre, and the children were sent there temporarily. Spokesman for the relevant authorities indicated that they would be cared for, and for the moment, were being removed from their father’s care for their own protection.

These feet were just cut by his father using needles and scissors. Upon seeing them now, I can't help but cry! Why?! Why?! Why did I have to see such a terrible thing?!

This is the children's father, Yang Quansheng. He's from Jiangxi, he came to Ningbo to work. He is a painter. The two children's mother already left the family two years ago, fleeing his beatings.

When the doctor was stitching up the child's wounds, anaesthetic wasn't used so recovery would be quicker. The child was strong throughout, never making a single whimper, or shedding a single tear.
The child's experiences and strength moved the entire hospital, with everyone present shedding tears. A helpful ayi (auntie) dressed the child, and brought some bread and milk for the children to eat. An old grandmother said while crying: "The child is only five years old and has already met this hardship, and undergoing surgery without anesthesia is something even adults could not endure without screaming. Yet this child did not even shed a tear. How could there be a father like this? The children's live worse than dogs."
In less than five minutes, a large bag of bread was finished, the sister said to me: They haven't eaten in two days. They have never eaten this bread before. It was really delicious. Only later after asking more questions did I learn that aside from noodles, they have never eaten much of anything else.

Wow, I just popped in to check the site before bed, and really regret reading this. The pictures are horrendous and have left a horrible feeling in my chest. I hope that these children can be offered the support they need and are able to have some semblence of a life.

Luckily for him, there’s no such thing as hell. Therefore we must be the arbiters of judgment and inflict great pain upon him while he is still living.
I imagine that with the way the Chinese media is, if the government were to put these children up for adoption hundreds of families would offer to take in both of them. Clearly these children shouldn’t go back with the father, and I just hope that at some point in the near future they will be able to live the normal life of a child.
Hopefully this story will make other beasts committing the same act to be punished..

I do not know how to donate to these particular children, but anyway i would advise against it.
They already have the exposure needed to be looked after properly and to be honest you will have no idea where the money goes.
There are many other children in China who are in dire need of your money who are not as fortunate as having their story told and the public taking interest.

Sick. When I see photos of abusing parents they always look so incredibly stupid but this guy looks close to being retarded. There is obviously something wrong with him too if he beats his kids daily, cuts them with knives and scissors and freely admits to it when some random person asks him.
Though sad for the kids it’s hard to blame the mother for running away from this neanderthal. Why is it that any idiot can get a driver’s license and roam the roads but no prequisites are needed to get a child? Yes I know the usual “This is China,, we are so poor, we can’t look after people and blah blah blah”. There ought to be a better working social care system in place to catch problems like this. How about a nurse visiting the home every 3 months for the first year or two? That’s how it is done in most Western European countries. The children’s nurse offer valuable advice and information for raising a child while at the same time checking living conditions and if the child is taken care of. God knows that there are PLENTY of Chinese people who could use a job like that and last time I looked it was still a communist country -at least on paper.
These kids are damaged for life now because noone looked into what this beast of a father was doing.

Are we supposed to actually believe this line? The kids have no money, so the doctors fixed the boy up for free. But anaesthetic costs money and no one was willing to pay for it. So the little boy endured some very painful stitches.
Child abuse happens in every country and these two children are fortunate that a neighbor was willing to help them. I hope that ChinaSmack follows up on this story. I’m concerned that the children’s lives could actually deteriorate once they enter into state care.

Just because a child is naked does not make it child pornography. The reporter is right to show these pictures. Although everyone knows that child abuse happens all around the world, we, including myself, often only have an after thought about it. We are mad for one day and the next we forget.
