I read on CDT and I laughed right away, the CCP promoting morals? And then I read the following and their idea of morals is, of course, patriotism and manners. They can not promote real morals without incriminating themselves and reestablishing a culture which they have painstakingly eroded over the years :

After three murders in October where students targeted their teachers, a top CPC official called for more ideological and moral education of the nation’s youth. Xinhua reports:
“Particular care should be given to children and their growth as they are successors of the socialist cause,” Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said in a letter to a national conference on youth moral education that ended on Sunday.
“More healthy cultural products should be made to … cultivate values such as patriotism and civilized manners,” he said.

Sorry, just the hollowness of these propaganda courses made me think of this.

Students from one end of China to the other have all told me they dread Politics. Don’t forget it’s not just paramilitaries/government employees being served up healthy dollops of Maoist thought and Marxist theory, it’s the millions of middle school kids that have to sit through the uninspiring tripe.

Did you think all these ultra nationalists were an accident; a grass roots movement? Thats the fomented seeds of the 2005 anti Japan hysteria (and recently in another article in China Smack) and the Carrefour “incidents”.

Every dictatorship needs the educational system to prod on delicate sprouts to mature into stalky, healthy communists.
