From Mop:

Recently I decided to get a tattoo,
so I often go to Baidu to search for designs.
I accidentally found the following pictures.
I was shocked crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, so enjoyable ~

Dear brothers and sister, getting a tattoo is no small matter,
you must not be cheap and find just any tattoo artist.
This tattoo artist in these pictures have harmed a great many people,
and even happily takes a picture with every one of them.
Truly speechless~~

Alright, let’s begin posting pictures~

There were three topics (or “seasons”) on Mop that featured this tattoo artist’s work. He is called Qiang or Brother Qiang. Here are most of the worse tattoo photographs that were posted on Mop and many taken from his website:

Comments from Mop:

526097:

Whoever gets a tattoo will regret it!!!

杀光鬼子:

A tattoo is no big deal, but this guy…
I am burnt!!! [because he was shocked]

浪鸟过大支:

Hurry and make a Chinese version of the Prison Break guy.

leolee.1982:

Sigh, what parents want their daughter to be married to a man with a tattoo, and what should your company’s management think when they discover your tattoo??? Sigh, go ahead and be smug, you will regret it sooner or later.

原味小鸡鸡:

Tattoos are art, but getting tattooed so ugly like this is simply abusing yourself.

劈lun:

I had a schoolmate back in my first year of high school.
When he was in military training, he cockily showed me his tattoo.
Then we all asked what it was.
I said, a lizard, right? He said it was a dragon. The atmosphere was very awkward…

晓风揽月:

Creativity is something that needs preparation!

第八套人民广播体操:

Actually, tattoos is a type of art. It is just that in China many people are unable to accept it. Of course, I am not saying that foreigners all approve of it, but at least people with tattoos outside of the country are not called black society.

If you encounter a good tattoo artist, you will discover that the tattoo on your body is simply a piece of art…of course, the perspective is different, so it is not necessary to discuss. I also feel sad for those people in the pictures, having met a second-rate practicing tattoo artist, with no sense of beauty to speak of, his lines and colors all trash.

婧夫君:

If Michael Scofield’s tattoo was done by Qiang [this tattoo artist], he could spend the rest of his life and not escape from prison…

rayice0990:

I cannot handle it…completely cannot handle it…
It looks like choosing the right tattoo artist it is very important…
my god,
ruining people without getting tired…[he keeps giving people bad tattoos]

Here are some comments from the third Mop topic where many people thought Brother Qiang’s was becoming better as a tattoo artist:

壹心向南:

When these little gangsters become big gangsters, Brother Qiang better be prepared to run.

_Serapay:

Faint…giving tattoos like this and he still has business…so surprising…

潜猪勿用:

Once again,
it can only be said that Qiang’s amount of improvement is visible to all.

GoBuccaneers:

This Qiang is indeed niubi, to become so famous so quickly. Who knows how many more people are going to be ruined.

oujiazhuzi:

Speaking as a seasoned Moper who has investigated the three seasons of Brother Qiang’s tattoos,
I am very happy and pleasantly surprised to see Brother Qiang, though already at the peak of perfection, is still improving bit by bit!!!

丗屆:

More country bumpkins again, even a foreign country bumpkin NB.

dglm1213:

Including the tattoo artist,
each one is uglier than the next.
Appraisal complete.

暗幽草【电台耳朵派】:

Awaiting Season 4.

闲蛋超人:

Peasant artist!

I hope the internet will not destroy our country’s hundreds of millions of peasants’ artistic passion.

在寝室腐烂:

I trust everyone has discovered now: Brother Qiang is getting better and better!!!

Stay tuned…

The above are most of the worst pictures and tattoos but if you can handle more, you can see more on Brother Qiang’s website.

“foreign country bumpkin”: What was the original? 外国土包子? Kind of catchy.

what if this is just his style? what’s wrong with a tattoo that looks like a 5-year old kid’s drawing? try visiting any modern/comtempo art museums anywhere in the world and tell me what’s so special about the artworks in there? they all look like they were the product of a stoned mind.

He obviously has clients (or a very skilled Photoshop user), there must be a reason… Simple logic.

Or maybe they are all friends, and they smoke crack before starting a session…

To be fair, its not all that awful. The drawing itself in many places is fine. I am assuming that tattoos are more than good drawing but instead you learn over time what looks good and what doesn’t.

This guy couldn’t trace a square, just imagine permanently having something that vaguely resembles a giant turd drawn on your back and having to explain to people that it kind of looks like a cat with flames on it (???) if you squint your eyes! Hooooo hooooo hoooooo! Priceless!

I’ve gotten about 20 tattoos in China from a dozen different artists, and some were excellent and very professional, and others were sketchy at best. Fortunately almost all of my work is fairly simple and doesn’t require tremendous skill so the risk of a poor tattoo was lower than if I was getting an ornate koi fish or dragon. But these photos are a major heads-up to anyone getting inked, not only in China, but anywhere. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it!
