Scar-covered left-behind girl, unspeakable family relative violence
It was 2009 October 27 afternoon around 3 o’clock that my friend and I, upon inadvertently hearing about a left-behind child entering a hospital after suffering long-term abuse from her relative (the girl’s mother’s elder sister), felt incomparable shock, and in line with human kindness and a bit of social responsibility, my friend and I hurried to Zhaotong City Zhaoyang District Area Hospital and saw the below tragic scene~!
Chen Xiaohua, of Yunnan province Zhaotong City Zhaoyang District, owing to her parents working away from home, lived in her maternal grandfather Fan Xx’s home. Later, so she could go study in the city, she was sent to live in her aunt Fan Xx’s home on Zhuquan Road in Zhaoyang District. Sending the child to the city to study and learn was originally a good thing, but who would have thought Chen Xiaohua’s nightmare was only about to begin~!
According to the latest news, the child’s parents have already rushed to the hospital from out of town.

This is Chen Xiaohua's aunt's savage acts, repeated beatings and even using a blade to scratch her lower body, resulting in Chen Xiahua's lower body sustaining serious injuries. The little girl can only urinate through a catheter now.

Originally I wanted to take a picture of the injuries on the lower body, but facing this kind of savage acts, my friend and I honestly did not have the courage to hold up the camera~! I can only tell everyone that the little girl's abdomen to her privates are criss-crossed with these knife scratches~!

Truly inhuman, God should not let these kind of people live!!

Where is the government? Where are the leaders [government officials]? Why is she still living in the hallway? Is this how the motherland’s flowers [children] are treated?
王小妞:
Her parents, why do they not take care of her? Because she is a girl? Because they don’t have the ability/means?

I have tears coming out, NND, raised by a whore/bitch.

Why abuse a child like this? Does she have a problem? Sigh, would she like it if the same abuse was done to her her??!!

Her aunt is worse than a beast/animal! Worse than even Xiong Jiaqing!
hbszzz123456:
These days, there are a lot of left-behind children, because their parents must go out to work and earn money, unable to make money in their hometowns. There’s nothing that can be done [about this, this is a fact of life].
If relatives are willing to help take care of the children of those who must go out to work, then be responsible and take care of them well. If you are unwilling, don’t accept/agree from the beginning, or, if after taking care of them for a period of time you no longer want to continue taking care, then directly tell the children’s parents. Do not continue unwillingly and use mistreat the children.

Heartless aunt, bring her to justice, human flesh search her!

What a sad story! Reading chinasmack today has been a real bummer.
broken at that age already.
young wounds never heal.
she will prolly jump off a roof at age 14 and wont even really know why.
if she survives past that age, chances are she’ll become abusive as well :(
aunt was probably abused as well (or just crazy)
WTF!! The abuser needs to be sent to the concentration camp for life! Or make her a public toilet for violent criminals.
She needs to be rehabilitated through labour.

Yes, because child abuse doesn’t happen outside China. Good point.
lee, search for the Baby P case that happened in the UK. Child abuse is universal there are sick people in this world of all nationalities.
Why even bother replying to this racist loser who lives in his parents’ basement? There will always be people like this who just type in a comment like ’savage Chinese, blah blah blah.’ Just ignore the dumb shit.
In Ancient Korea such an aunt would have been thrown into a pit of spikes, unfortunately modern day China is not as civilized.
Ancient, not modern Korea. Modern Korea, then, is not as civilized as ancient Korea.
in korea wouldnt the husband just beat the wife regardless?
“in line with human kindness and a bit of social responsibility, my friend and I hurried to Zhaotong City Zhaoyang District Area Hospital and saw the below tragic scene~!”
Sooo out of human kindness and social responsibility you rushed to the hospital to gawk and take pictures of an abused child and spread it across the internet.
Does it really make Chinese people feel better that the child has 10 yuan in her hand?
And does this person have anything to offer this child other than money?
There is only one thing worse than selfish people and that’s stupid people. They just get in the way, this girl needs protection not fame you dumb dumb.
It’s called journalism.
I have never heard “journalism” “human kindness” and “social responsibility” in the same sentence without laughing.
Which planet are you from?
Yeah, I really don’t understand how that line of thinking works. They hear a story in the news about a three-year-old girl who was abused and their first thought is: “Go warm up the car! I’ll grab the camera.”
Look at the picture above the caption “On a hospital bed in the hallway.” Does anybody really thinks it helps a little girl to have 30 people around taking pictures of her wounds, and staring?
Jesus H. Christ, I know it’s China, but how about some privacy.
Although journalism can be a bit sensationalist sometimes, it is possbile that something good would come from sharing this young girl’s horrible story.
As someone who lives in China I am often put in awkward situations because of the difference in the “concept” of privacy. This is something everyone(both Chinese and otherwise) should strive to understand, not bash.
Or you could just de-rail an otherwise informative post.
Umm…. I think I’ll derail the post.
This is worse than Hitler and AIDS.
This doesn’t surprise me at all since Yunnan is one big shit hole. Of course, I know you fagsticks are going to try some bs retort like, “As if child abuse doesn’t occur outside China, blah?” blah, blah, blah. But seriously now, are you guys surprised? There is not much of a difference between mainland china and some shitty ass banana republic.
Help me with some down-votes here.
Leave it to a foreigner to apply the “holier than thou” attitude even in this situation.
Materialism WILL be/IS the downfall of western civilization.
YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON!
As if the Chinese aren’t materialistic? Oh please.
That’s strange, because whenever I walk down any major pedestrian street in a big Chinese city, I see materialism in force, more so even than in my home of little olde Englande.
Pot meet kettle?
Westerner accuses Chinese of being materialistic.
Chinese retorts that Westerners are also materialistic.
Chinese accuses Westerners of being materialistic.
Westerner retorts that Chinese are also materialistic.
Yes, pot meet kettle and kettle meets pot.
Now, perhaps everyone can keep this in mind next time and think twice before yet again muttering something that could be so easily turned back on yourselves or your “side”.
J’s point was the “holier than thou” attitude.
Having stuff and liking stuff is not the same as putting stuff ahead of humans… just a minor point.
Not sure what this has to do with the original story though.
VeerLeft,
I seriously hope you’re not trying to argue that all Westerners merely have and like stuff but never put stuff ahead of humans. I think it’s a given that materialism is not divided along racial or national lines and is a common problem amongst some Chinese and some Westerners alike.
preoccupied with gay insults … means only one thing
My pleasure…well-deserved I might add.
To 社會是和諧的. Yunnan isn’t a shithole you moron. Some areas here are amongst the poorest in China so naturally you’ll see some weird things sometimes. Yunnan food is imo about the best local cuisine in this country, the many minorities here are beautiful, interesting people who cherish their heritage (ok,, I don’t want to mention the Han), the climate is awesome and you have fresh fruits and vegetables all year round. In Northern Yunnan you have huge rivers, 6000 meter mountains and glaciers, in the South you have a tropical mini-Thailand and in the West you have active volcanoes and countless hot springs. The best of it all is that the prices down here,, even in Kunming,, are still low and excellent housing is easily affordable. Add to this fact that we have Vietnam, Thailand, India, Tibet, Hainan, Hong Kong and Sichuan all within less than a 1.5 hour flight,, well I don’t wanna live anywhere else. Yunnan is staggeringly beautiful.
And for that childabuser rest assured that she won’t be sleeping with ease for a while. If there is something poor Chinese people are good at it is to gang up on someone for a chance to hurl some verbal and/or physical abuse.
Thank you for this interesting description of Yunnan. As a Frenchman, I think our country should apologize about the terrible conditions under which laborers were forced to work when we built a railroad there at the time when “Indochina”, as we called Vietnam in those days, was a French colony.
Back to this criminal child abuser: I agree that she should be humiliated in public with onlookers “hurling verbal abuse”, not “physical abuse” though, and then sentenced to hard labor, with occasional television reports to show the public how child abusers are treated. Since saving face is so important in China, judges should take away every shred of human dignity from this evil woman. A good deterrent.
First off, the ethnic minorities do not cherish their heritage as much as you may imagine and in fact more often than not are just plain subsumed by the Han. Many ethnic minorities actually change their ethnic status on their national ID to Han in order to have a better chance to assimilate.
The climate is fucking awesome. I totally agree with you. Kunming is a really comfortable city to live in.
Prices in Kunming aren’t as low as you imagine. Going out to eat is exactly the same as it is in Taipei or Beijing. Only housing and utilities are really low. Everything else is on par with other big cities in China.
On a side note, son, Yunnan is one of the dirtiest places I’ve ever seen. Pollution is rampant and discouraging, city health standards are rarely if ever enforced, people spit and shit everywhere (pretty much like every place in China). I walked out the gate of Shida one day and saw a teenage girl taking a shit in the middle of the sidewalk in broad daylight!
Kunming is nothing but a big village full of dirty nongmin that take a shower once a month to save on water bills. They also love to call you a yangguizi in front of your face since they’re too ignorant to imagine a foreigner comprehended their magnificent language. What is developed in Kunming? As soon as you exit 金馬坊 everything is back to a one horse town again.
I still maintain that Yunnan is one big toilet with some nice wallpaper.
awesome!!! you are the bravest man i never saw!!! ….live in the toilet everyday…what a life!!!
in china many of the people grew up in the very difficult and poor conditions, it is the facts you can not choose, no money to washing the body is much better than dirty in your racist mind.
think by yourself so many hateful from your eyes in china why you just leave, not one beg you here!!!
hahaha that first sentence is hilarious!
wtf are you trying to say? Learn English properly and then get back to me, penis breath. I don’t live there. I used to live there. Big difference, no?
I love hearing defenders of the great Chinese civilization on here use this example to try to trump us. If you don’t like it so much, then go back to your country. No shit, Sherlock. Did you think that some of us might have had to stick around for business or school or other demanding reasons and most likely were trying to leave after making the mistake of moving there?
Since you’re too retarded to form proper sentences you probably didn’t think that not all foreigners are rich as fuck and can choose to come and go places as they please. That leaving a place is a big commitment.
Then again a shrimp dick, pea brain, earth dumpling shittard such as yourself doesn’t think about much besides whether to dine on snot rice noodles or diarrhea-inducing cardboard dumplings each day.
Harmonious nigga out.
Dude, you’re getting a bit too bold with your douchebaggery. Most, if not all, of your recent comments have increasingly degenerated into intentionally offensive tirades, as if you’re trying to see how far you can go.
What the above boils down to is you lording your mastery of English over a non-native speaker. Wow, way to go, champ, real decent of you, you’re so much better than Fang Yao now.
Is your self-esteem based on how well you can use English to put Chinese people down, or does it just seem that way? You’re behaving like the asshole that laughs at how people with Down Syndrome talk. Grow the fuck up.
Oh, and please don’t speak for “us”.
So Chinese people are no better than the unfortunate people who have “Down Syndrome”?
No, a person who makes fun of a non-native English speaker for his English mistakes is like a person who makes fun of a person suffering from Down Syndrome for that his inability to speak “normally”. In both cases, its about one person immaturely lording their advantage over someone who is reasonably, understandably, and faultlessly disadvantaged. It’s not cool.
But you already knew that, didn’t you? Stop playing stupid.
@Kai It’s as a rather poor analogy if not altogether inappropriate. Down Syndrome isnt something you can study your way out of or half-ass your way into semi-”normalcy”/ semi-fluency.
@Righteous American
Well, you’d know better than anyone i suppose.
Righteous American,
It is my opinion that 社會是和諧的’s behavior above is indeed “behaving like the asshole that laughs at how people with Down Syndrome talk.” The analogy hinges on his behavior, the behavior of the asshole, not the characteristics of the victim of that asshole. A person who hasn’t mastered a foreign language is obviously not the same as a person who suffers from a genetic abnormality. However, exploiting their their reasonable, understandable, and faultless disadvantage to make fun of them is immature and reprehensible. You continuing to play stupid is likewise.
Kaipie, listen shitstain. Don’t even try to get all scholarly on here. I bet you’re a total 宅男 who when not surfing WOW for ghey naked orc sex decides to come on to chinasmack to act like an expert on China中國通 and break down people’s posts as if we’re fucking in a fucking debate. News flash, bro. Your essay long posts on not interesting and if anything rather hilarious. You always skirt the line and never have take a real stand on any matters. Micropenis wonders such as yourself are the true interesting phenomena to appear out of U.S. relations.
The real question is when you’re going to throw in the towel, stop being the world’s biggest cyber dork posting novels on chinasmack and start trolling like the big boys.
BTW, I am anxiously awaiting the elegant manner in which you plan to pick apart this dig bit by bit.
Save yourself the time and carpal tunnel and just give up already.
Sorry, 社會是和諧的, I’ve already said my piece. It does warm my heart that you’ve paid so much attention to me though.
I guess its hard to see from that high horse youre on, but it’s ironic that you attack him for insulting Chinese people with a lack of proper English ability by comparing these same Chinese to people with down syndrome.
Wow, that’s rich, someone who goes by the moniker “Righteous American” accusing me of being on a high horse?
There’s nothing ironic about insulting a person for being an asshole, whether they’re doing it to non-native speakers or people with Down Syndrome. Sorry you’re unable to see that, I dunno, from the high horse you’re on.
Oh, and I can’t believe you’re actually voting +1 for your own comments after you post them. How insecure must you be?
You’ve misread. Again the irony is in you attacking someone for insulting a group of Chinese by using an analogy that insults the same group of Chinese by comparing them to a group of people with severe mental retardation.
And now youre attacking me with petty bs in order to alleviate your bruised ego. +1
Sorry, I disagree with your non-sequiturs. Have a nice day.
(>x_x)> pwned. <(^o^<)
Complaining of correct English usage and then using the word ’shittard’. I don’t believe you’d find that word in the dictionary. Just because that’s what people shout at you in the street doesn’t mean it’s a real word.
Just about every foreigner I’ve met in China has told me about some place here that is the filthiest place in the world hidden under a cheap facade. So it seems to me that it’s not just kunming/yunnan or any other particular city/province that is a polluted toilet, it’s just China.
Totally agree, I live and have lived in Kunming for six years. On the whole, it’s cheap but not as much as anywhere else. Rent is lower, sure, but even that’s changing. Find a really nice comfortable place somewhere within the downtown area that’s within 1500RMB.
While it was nice six years ago it’s gone downhill significantly in recent times – worse pollution, far more crime than before, outrageous traffic, and a healthy influx of migrant workers coming in to build another gaudy apartment complex that will begin to crack within two years.
The only thing I’d disagree with you about are the ethnic groups changing their ethnicities to Han, as I’ve known countless who have done just the opposite. Straight Han high school students changing their ethnicities to something like Yi, Bai, Dai, etc. in order to get that few extra points on the Gao Kao and a better chance of getting one of the coveted “ethnic unity” seats at a good university they otherwise wouldn’t have a chance in hell of getting into. The Han have totally abused this policy meant to help the minorities get out of the village and into mainstream society. Shame it won’t happen.
Completely agree about the traffic mate. Hope they get the lightrail/metro up and running soon. Maybe the pollution is a bit worse but compared to other places in China it’s a paradise. Wonder where else I could get a 180 sqm, 4 bedroom apartment in a brand new building on the 30th floor with incredibly views for 1800 kuai a month. If I have to go to another city I think housing prices will hit me like a brick hehe.
As far as I know many minority people changed their “official” ethnicity but that happened back in the 60’s and 70’s because they were discriminated against. All the minority people I know are proud of ,well,, not being Han. Although I guess one could argue that I have met more minorities who claim to be Han if you still want to argue :)
I absolutely agree that you get the “I am surrounded by Nonming” occasionally but hey,, it’s China and I’ve had that feeling in Beijing and Shanghai as well. One more thing,, “Yunnan is one of the dirtiest places I’ve ever seen. Pollution is rampant and discouraging, city health standards are rarely if ever enforced”. What are you on about?? Kunming probably has the cleanest air of any larger city in China and where in this country are health standards vigorously enforced?
I have spent maybe 6 months in Beijing and every time I stay there more than a month I develop a dry cough and my pores get covered by some weird dark stuff. When I open my windows in the morning I get fresh crisp wind straight from the Himalayas into my room.
Poor wee girl.
That’s all.
Well let’s begin with the fact that we cannot generalize and think that all of Yunnan can be summed up by this incident. Let me say this does not represent the population of Yunnan.
Now for the people and place. Here’s the bad news first. The people are ignorant due to lack of eduactation and money, and so they fill this hole up with pride. Sometimes a little overzealous about their culture and geography. This is because they haven’t had the chance to see what lies on the outside. another reason is probably to protect their ego cus they know they don’t really have a chance to do much in the competitive world (huge freakin rat race) of China. Also, the biggest anti-communist communist country. It doesn’t get more capitalist than China. I mean most haven’t even left Kunming or Yunnan and probably will never be able to leave either.
Now I’m going to refer to what 社会是和谐的said. He does mention quite a few things that I have witnessed while living there. The ethnic groups are is some ways subsumed by the Han and this can be seen by the fact that most change their ethnicity to Han for the convenience of finding jobs, doing business etc… etc… I have also seen a lot of violence in Kunming. I was threatened by some guy with a 2 by 4 one night and i had no idea why. Some dude came charging into this bar and decided to slam it on our table and threatened the bartender. Never in my life have i ever been threatened like that and I don’t go out looking for trouble. I can’t see myself living there again and don’t plan to. Maybe i’ll visit some of my friends there one day but that’s about all.
The good news is it’s interesting for a visit. Check out Dali and Lijiang. You could easily get to Tibet from there. It’s easy to slack off there and think ur actually doing something while in actuality ur doing nothing. If your the lazy type and wanna do nothing this is the place. If you don’t care to wash and wanna save money on water, then this is the place for u.
Oh yeah Picking up chicks, not the place either. Even the whores are to conservative to have sex with westerners. They have chosen the moral path of prostitution and have their reputation to worry about.
Frankencoc out. typos or grammar mistakes u’ll have to deal with em. I’m not looking this over.
“Oh yeah Picking up chicks, not the place either. Even the whores are to conservative to have sex with westerners. They have chosen the moral path of prostitution and have their reputation to worry about.”
i dont know why after read your this comment there is a very funny image come out my mind: some dirty old men are siting with some young Asian dark skin girls on some tropic beer bars….. yep Thailand that is the destination you should go…perfect for the dirty old men…you dont even need to look decent….
You seriously are misled, Fangshit. A large portion of those whores in Thailand are being “serviced” by none other than Chinese businessman and tourists. As if it’s only Westerners that go there for sex tourism? For shame!
Get your facts straight and polish up your grammar before posting on here, biotch!
Maybe you should polish up your manners.
when the dog is angry, of course he wants to bite,
i totally understand.
how important is the grammar here Mr.English??? i can see you fully understand what i talk about..give me a break…
dont make yourself fool…
see many above the comments, there are a lot of the facts which you guys complain. for sure Yunnan have a long term to learn.
the other hand if you plan to travel another country there are always a lot of different conditions as your own city. if you only know how to complain, it is better to stay at home, drink you beer and die alone……
Poor little sweetie deserves to be taken care of like a princess, not treated worse than a dog. I will hug my beautiful China-born daughter a little longer tonight. :(
Please teach her not to be ashamed of her own ethnic/racial background as she grows up. I will be better for her mental health.
and i don’t mean that in a condescending way :)
Just a lot of people grow up hating the people of their own race and ethnicity because of the same kind of racist hate that’s rampant on this site.
Oh, not at all! She just turned 7 and is very proud of China and being Chinese. Most of her dolls are all Asian (some “token” Caucasian and other race dolls are thrown in), and several of her books have Chinese themes. We have started her in a Chinese language school as well, because there is a pretty large and active Chinese population in nearby cities. Right after we adopted her, my mother was like, “Oh, she will want to be like everyone else” and I said, “Well, she’s not like everyone else in our small town. She’s better, because she has a better story to tell.” Anyway, there are bad people in every country, just like there are wonderful people in every country. It may not always be easy for her, but growing up is never easy for anyone, and at least she has an uber-supportive family watching and helping her every step. Plus, she is so beautiful, smart, and funny that she charms everyone who comes near her! I’m a mom–I live to brag! :)
the b**** did WHAT with a blade? It’s times like these then the death penalty seems like a good idea. The girl’s so young, hope’s she’s young enough to forget all the crap that’s happened to her.
you are never too young to forget woman
This is a prime example on why China should start up a child welfare agency. That way this woman is made an example of when she goes on trial and it would deter the other sickos out there that would do this to a child.
A public education campaign on things like this would be good too.
TV and pamphlets can be morer powerful than they seem.
All child abusres should be shot.
i hope the god will be save the kid. and the police and goverment give a bullet for criminal
