apparently there are animal farm movies. one cartoon and one live action, western media never cease to amaze me…

But seriously though, 1984 is put on a pedestal because of it’s readability rather than it’s value. A better and more plausible book in this category would be Friedrich Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom. However, its message is a bit one sided and it predictions remain to be seen. (that’s is if future isn’t altas shrugged). ….The world is a lot more complicated than our high school English and civics class made it out to be.

what! they made a movie for that book? I wonder if they made an Animal Farm movie. THAT would actually have entertainment value, that justified the outrages movie ticket prices.
