I really from the bottom of my heart admire how the Japanese simplified theirs. Kanji retains most of the traditional characters simplifying only the ones with high stroke numbers. Singapore is so far up China's ass so they use simplified. Taiwan, HK and Macau use traditional because they were never forced not to. The mainlanders can argue and present reasons for anything they disagree with, for example, simplified is already hard enough, why use traditional?
