Last february in Wuhan, i saw a old man who fell off his bike. He was laying under his bike sreeming of pain. Maybe 30 people were standing around him and nobody did anything!! Wat is wrong with Chinese people? They always tell me to have respect for older people! Haha, what a joke. Me as a foreigner had to help the poor old guy untill the police arrived.

Only in China would such an incident be discussed to such a degree on the internet, shows how such little of interest most people’s lives are.

China becomes completely pointless. I hate my country.

It’s a massive country, there’s going to be more crimes then other nations…show some perspective people.

Oh, you can’t? Maybe it’s because it’s got something to do with the fact that all human lives are precious. By the tone of the emails here, people are shocked that this sort of thing can happen at all, never mind where. Stop being so defensive about China.

Weapons or not the person died. The result was the same. There are weapons in China. A gun is not the only weapon under the sun.

There are 300,000,000 people in the US and something like 220,000,000 guns. As you can see the overwhelming majority of US citizens don’t go around shooting everyone.

I never said nor did I compare the amount of beatings 10/20 years ago to current times regardless of media coverage. I was highlighting the comment earlier that wondered why there’s more beatings/killings in China compared as an afterthought presumably to a western nation.

The perspectives is that something like this (beating random people to death) happened less often 10, 20 years ago. Maybe the media just didn’t report these incidents back then, but I don’t think that’s the case. There is definitely an ethical shift in today’s mainland Chinese society.
