Wow, only 12 comments. You’re all heartless bastards.

However, I suppose there isn’t much you can do. There are tragic stories everywhere and every day. Sympathy gets you only so far. You help one, but what about the others? Socialism and charity are society’s on-going efforts to deal with its own guilt-ridden obligations to those who are less fortunate. I’ll stop here before my head explodes. Apathy and ignorance makes life livable.

my wife is currently volunteering and learning physio therapy at an underfunded orphans training center in the outskirts of Beijing that trains helpers from other orphanages all across the country on how to rectify situations like this young man’s. Evidently if work is done with afflicted children before the age of 7, they can learn to walk and use their hands to eat etc. Many of these kids were abandoned once the parents found out about their disability which is such a sad situation. The work the Grace Rehabilitation Center under the Beijing International Committee for Chinese Orphans (Bicco) is truly inspiring and gives these children some hope of operating normally in life.

Someone should design some special clothing for him which can be “swung” on and off, with some parts that weigh heavier. That would make his life a bit easier.
