LoL, the “Shanghai Metro, one step ahead of the rest of China” comment is pretty incisively profound. I have no doubt that much of China, like much of the rest of the world, regards homosexuality with abhorrence, and that its major urban areas are more “liberal and progressive.” I’ve certainly seen more plenty of gay and lesbian people throughout my years in Shanghai.
