Frankly I find it an insult when I simply refer to the fact that I live in North America, the default nationality slapped on my face is that of the United States. Well, given that over 50% of your population don’t even believe in evolution, I think that’s a pretty damn good indicator of how smart your average citizens are. Ah, the old harmonious society. Fear of the “other” or “divide” and conquer. I’ve had guang dong ren tell me all northerners are this and this, Hangzhou ren tell me all Xinjiang ren are so and so, and Shanghai ren tell me everyone from Henan is bad. Given all, I would say Cantonese are the most arrogant of all Chinese, I hear more racism there than I do in all other parts of China.
