3 Chinese ‘Chikan’ Arrested for Sexual Harassment in Japan

Chinese Chikan Perverts

Three Chinese tourists were arrested in Japan as “chikan” sexually harassing Japanese women in public. One took underskirt photos while riding the escalator in a shopping mall, while another lifted a woman’s skirt on a tram, and the third touched a woman’s bottom inside an adult products shop. In each case, the Japanese victim grabbed them and held them until police came. Each will face severe punishments as high as 1 million yen in fines and 10 years in jail under Japanese law. The top Chinese netizen comment suggests these Chinese “perverts” must’ve watched too many Japanese adult videos.

Apparently, Japanese porn is fictional , not documentaries. Who would have thought?

  • redwhitedude

These chinese, they sure take cues from certain Japanese.

Looks like Chinese, tastes like chikan…..
Don’t get up, I’ll punch myself in the face.

I’m not surprised at the behavior as it happens everywhere, what I’m surprised at is the possible punishment. I guess that’s a good thing, just make sure of the guilt of the suspect. Here in America, the perpetrator would probably receive a stern lecture by the judge, maybe community service. They wouldn’t be treated as a criminal in the US, they be treated as someone who’s “sick” and needs help.

What I’m never surprised at is when on a website with “China” in the title, with a mission of translating the Chinese Internet, in the comments section of an article about Chinese guys being busted doing something shameful… someone starts talking about America.

      • Alex Dương

        If he’s American, why not?

      • KamikaziPilot

That’s what happens when one country is that dominant in the world, everyone compares themselves to that country, fair or not. I’m most familiar with punishments in the US hence the comparison. But I’m also surprised there would be that strict a punishment for a crime like this anywhere in the world. Do you know of anything similar? Now this is the maximum punishment, I would be curious to know after it’s over what the actual punishment handed down is.

I would have loved to have seen it as the intended victims were tough enough to subdue those idiots and hold them for police. It must have been a pleasure to see.

      • KamikaziPilot

I’m wondering if these victims actually held the perpetrators down physically or they had some help. I mean an average woman can’t physically restrain an average man. Maybe they had some help, but the story is so brief it leaves that part out.

        • Vance

True. I do want some more details. I was glad I was not the only one who did a virtual double take when I read a brief statement that intended victims somehow turned the tables on their perps. How di they do it? I would love to know

Wasn’t there some Japanese comments about how, yes, groping is normal in Japan, but so is being /arrested/ for it!

  • lacompacida

Finally, the Chinese got their revenge for crimes Japan has committed last century, the only way Chinese are capable of. Going to jail is glorious for these patriots. Can’t beat their men, then touch their women.

    • Alex Dương

And they say the Chinese can’t ever let WWII go…

  • I’m honestly surprised that the women they molested had the metaphorical cajones to latch on to these pathetic guys for a significant amount of time… and the strength to succeed at it…

    Much respect to them!

    • doesn’t seem too hard

      • KamikaziPilot

Maybe not for you, but most Japanese girls weigh about 100 lbs soaking wet and are pretty reticent to confront people.

    • Vance

It would have been great to have been there to see it!

    • jxs9

They probably though they were Japanese because they usually don’t stand up to foreigners.

  • 10 years is too much

This from the country that invented “shark”ing

  • Smith_90125

Without minimizing the fact that this is sexual assault, this story typifies the reputation of Chinese tourists, acting like they are above the laws of other countries, like they are unaccountable for their actions.

No, that’s not a stereotype. A stereotype is a non-existent thing or description used to falsely portray those it describes. The thousands of rampant news stories and other reports of uncouth and obscene behaviour by Chinese tourists aren’t made up.
