From NetEase & Tiexue:

In Chengdu, beautiful girls walk the catwalk to apply for jobs, while CEOs sit in the audience to evaluate them

On the evening of November 27th, within a hotel in Chengdu, 40 young beauties walked the catwalk/runway. They are not models nor are they contestants in a beauty pageant, but rather they are here to apply for jobs. Those recruiting them are 80 company CEOs beneath the stage in the audience. Was this recruiting or for finding marriage partners? This incited a lot of questions and suspicions from city residents.

The CEOs who have come to find employees are all CEOs of the companies in Western China. During this headhunting event, two people have already completed employment contracts, while 15 applicants have been selected by several CEOs for further interviews.

“Are the CEOs going to find wives or recruit employees?” “Are the CEOs choosing lovers?” … in response to this kind of recruitment method, some city residents felt it was not very reliable/appropriate, suspecting that these company CEOs were not merely coming to recruit employees.

“I’m am here to find a prospective marriage partner!” Facing suspicions by city residents, the president of a hotel, Li Jian, said he is in the business of customer service and needs managers who have the ability to create and maintain close relationships, and therefore he believes he is indeed here to “find a marriage partner”. He says that he’s here to find talent, both in appearance and ability, and not just a pretty girl, and of course not a marriage partner as the city residents suspect.

I imagine they are preparing a pool of reserve/back-up secretaries. Nowadays, recruiting is backwards. First looking at appearance, then ability.

龙啸江:

It feels like they’re selecting precious purebred animals or something…

铁血卫戍旅:

They should require the CEOs to bring their wives before allowing them to participate.

冰帝军团:

An army of mistresses.

Whether this is recruiting or what, I think everyone already knows.

蒙面特警:

I really wonder if future Chinese men can still find virgin women to marry?

ylq6145:

All a bunch of people crying sour grapes. Are there not big companies whose front desks need pretty girls? Female employees who welcome customers/clients? If they’re pretty, doesn’t that leave a positive impression?

Those who have even a little bit of intelligence can all see what is going on. Those willing to go put themselves on display are simply hinting that they’re also willing to go do that.

网易四川成都网友:

Whether you’re the leader/management or employee, everyone wants some beauties for their company/office, as it is better than having weird and ugly looking people running around you all the time. Beautiful girls have good personalities, being teased by a lot of people since they were small, so in general they all have open and cheerful personalities. Ugly people often cause trouble, being ignored by people since they were small, so their personalities naturally are a little twisted, able to choke people to death with just a comment. Nowadays with “good” jobs so hard to find, everyone’s situation is about the same, their abilities are all about the same, so we are only left with looking at their appearance to distinguish between them.

网易广东东莞网友:

Truly bastards! What kind of directors are these? They’re society’s garbage! Even daring to publicly organize this kind of event!
Is this the kind of thing society today is promoting? If it is, then there is no need to go build whatever “civilized society”.

网易浙江金华网友:

I can only say this: Having money must be great.

网易安徽黄山网友:

Those on stage and those below the stage all went there from Beijing and Chongqing after slipped through the “anti-pornography” sweeps.

Yep, Dongguan’s nightlife has changed, this way it is much safer.

Look carefully, it’s already the second [time this event has been held]
