Cat Saves American Boy from Vicious Dog, Chinese Reactions

Cat saves little boy from dog attack.

Cat saves little boy from dog attack.

The following microblog post rose to the top 10 of Chinese social network Sina Weibo earlier this week, following its viral popularity on YouTube. Online, many Chinese cat-lovers have a nickname for cats: 喵星人 miao xing ren, or literally “meow alien”. In this Chinese internet meme, cats are aliens from a distant planet who use their cute appearance to deceive humans and secretly control the earth’s fish supply. In the translations below, miao xing ren has been simplified to “cat”.

From Sina Weibo:

@谷大白话: Cat Flying Tackles Vicious Dog, Bravely Rescuing His Little Master — An American man uploaded a video on YouTube called “My Cat Saved My Son”: His little son was riding a bicycle when suddenly a vicious dog attacked. At this moment, the family’s cat dashed forward like lightning and drove the vicious dog away, saving her little master. At present, this video has already been viewed over a million times. This brave cat has been called “cat hero” by netizens.

Comments from Sina Weibo:

As a god, occasionally, it saves ordinary mortals.

It’s not necessarily out of loyalty or to protect its master. When it comes to cats, what it is thinking is more likely: You dare to touch MY person?! You want to die?! Meow!

The cat is saying [the dog] needs to know who the human slave’s cat master is before biting.

Where are all those people who always say dogs don’t attack people [unless first provoked]? Fuckers. Once again there are fucking dog-lovers coming out to blabber.

My mother-in-law’s family has kept a cat for several years now, and is the leader of all the animals in the neighborhood community. Then my mother-in-law’s family adopted a small dog, that would be bullied by other cats and dogs whenever it was taken out for a walk. Because that cat went out along every time, whoever dared to bully that dog, she would charge forward without duty-bound and attack it. The German Shepherd next door has been beaten [by the cat] so badly that it now avoids our front door whenever it passes by.

That’s why cartoons/manga have cat girls/women and never dog men.

I was thinking this person was so shameless, calling himself beautiful… [美男子 used here means “American man” but could be interpreted in Chinese as “beautiful man”]

Child: “What are you looking at?!” Dog: “I’m looking at you, what about it? I can bite you to death!” Cat rises and lands a flying kick: Motherfucker! Who do you think you’re talking to? [The original Chinese uses cat-related sounds as puns]

In the very moment the cat is flying at [the dog] (0.62 seconds), it used its claws to attack the dog a total of 27 times, 6 times to the torso, 8 times to the forelegs, and 13 times to the face, with the most threatening being the three times to the nose and eyes, causing the dog to completely lose its fighting will. Throughout this, the cat released and used up a large amount of chakra, and initial determination is that at least five of the eight inner gates were opened.

There’s more at the end on YouTube. After the cat, with its tail raised, chases the dog over to that side of the car, it suddenly lowers it tail, hits the brakes, and then runs back (no video of the dog turning around to chase), running under the car to the little boys side. Then the mother gets up and it runs towards the car with her. Then the little buy gets up and runs away (or followed them). I speculate 1. There isn’t just one vicious dog. 2. After a moment of passion, the cat suddenly realized, fuck, I still have an important cat mission I haven’t accomplished yet.

Hahaha, motherfucker, you dare touch the king’s personal slave. Simply asking for death!

Cats truly are control-freaks. My colleague has a cat and dog. The dog was being beaten up by another dog, so the cat immediately charged forward and did something similar [as the video above]…

How come it always me holding a broom going to help my cat when it is in a fight?

Fucker, only I can bully my human!

The dog bite.
The dog bite.
